I’ve been here a few times and every time it was really good. However, I went there this saturday with a friend and wow just a whole different experience. The food has always been good, but sometimes the service was just okay nothing really special which isn’t a bad thing. This saturday my server was JT, and he might be the best server I ever had. He checked in with us multiple times and truly made sure we were all set. Very charming too and just made the night great! Hope to see him again next time!

Beautiful spot on the water with a lively atmosphere! The appetizer was a highlight, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The salmon could have used more flavor, but overall it was still a lovely experience.

There was one tiny piece of crab in the crab and corn chowder, mainly potatoes with a few kernels of corn! Whipped feta appetizer was excellent except pita bread was a stale. *I would like to add that management contacted me and credited me for the soup and also offered a gift certificate as well so kudos to them for this to make it right! Much appreciated!

Happened to be exploring the area and stopped in for lunch. We sat on the covered back deck (which overlooks the parking lot & dock). Our server was great. We shared the fried calamari - excellent! Baked cod & fish tacos were both tasty.

Employee Review for Ashley – Sail Loft We had an exceptional experience at Sail Loft thanks to Ashley, our server. From the moment we sat down, she was kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal. Her recommendations were spot-on...something we rarely experience. Too often servers list everything on the menu when asked for suggestions, but Ashley actually guided us to dishes she truly enjoys herself. It makes such a difference knowing she’s familiar with the food, and it shows. More restaurants should encourage their staff to taste the menu...it clearly helps elevate the entire dining experience! On her recommendation, I tried the chicken piccata, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had...made even more impressive considering it was one of the busiest nights of the year (Holiday Stroll). Despite the crowds, the entire staff was friendly, the food came out quickly and piping hot, and the cocktails were delicious. The Christmas music set the perfect atmosphere. It’s been quite a while since we last dined at Sail Loft, but after this visit, we can’t wait to return. Thank you, Ashley, for making our night such a memorable one. She truly made the visit a hit!

Second visit and first time as a vegitarian. Food and service was great. 4/5 was given for food because of limited vegitarian options. I got pesto Primavera which was the only main entrée for vegitarian meal. Also, got whipped feta which was the only vegitarian appetizer. They had salad options they could give without meat but I would not go out to have salad.

The spot on the water you’re looking for, parking is a little rough when it’s busy but that’s to be expected in coastal towns. I’m giving it 5 for the staples, solid clam chowder and brown butter lobster roll. People wait in line for chowder that’s not this good in Boston

5 stars is not enough! The staff goes above and beyond every time! We are so fortunate to have this amazing restaurant family in our back yard. They've done a great job of finding the right people across the board, kitchen, bar, floor. Thank you!

Lunch at the sail loft is always pleasant and delicious. The oysters (raw and Rockefeller) were outstanding. Some of my companions were ecstatic about dishes on the specials menu. Service was great and the restaurant was as cozy on a cold day. We will return.

Review for The Sail Loft - Padanaram, MA If you find yourself in Padanaram (a.k.a. the South Dartmouth secret locals don't really want you to know about), and you skip The Sail Loft? Rookie mistake. This place is the salty soul of Buzzards Bay. Perched right by the marina, it's where boat shoes meet bar stools. You'll see folks who just stepped off a sailboat rubbing elbows with couples dressed for a night in the village. No dress code. No pretension. Just pure coastal New England charm and a vibe that's always buzzing. The inside is lively, the outdoor patio catches that perfect sea breeze, and the bar? It's the heartbeat of the joint. We didn't have a reservation (whoops), and the place was packed--but the bar area saved the day. We snagged a high top by the window just as the line started snaking out the door. The bartenders? Total pros. Fast, friendly, and somehow everywhere at once, without making you feel like an afterthought. Gold star. We kicked off with a round of Apple Martinis--sweet, strong, and not here to mess around. Then came the chowder: a bowl of creamy, clammy goodness, thick enough to stand a spoon in. Potatoes, herbs, and enough richness to warm you from the inside out--June evenings by the bay aren't always balmy. But the star of the show? That lobster roll. Two options: cold and classic, or warm and buttery. We went warm--because why wouldn't you want your lobster swimming in butter? Nestled in a toasted sourdough roll and served with coleslaw and fries. And not just one or the other--both. Apparently, the kitchen was feeling generous, and we weren't about to say no. The fries were crisp on the outside, fluffy inside. The slaw? Creamy, crunchy, and perfectly chilled. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Sail Loft is the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, order another drink, and pretend the boat docked outside is yours.

The food is excellent! It's always hot and well made. Service is also excellent and of course the ambiance is the best!

Recently dined there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The ambiance has a nice vibe. The decor is nautical. I've never been in that area which is called the Panamanian village which looks like a shopping area. The service is very good. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Our server whose name escape me was a delight. The food is very good with selections both for sea and land enthusiasts. They have specials for appetizers happy hour. One of the appetizers definitely recommend is the whipped feta with beets. Everyone at the table really enjoyed. Whipped feta with cubes of pickled beets served with candied pecans and drizzled with honey for that savory taste combination. Several chose the pan seared sole which was good. Desserts are mostly made in house and were very good. Definitely recommend this establishment during a stop in Dartmouth.

Going to Sail Loft on Saturday night is an adventure. Going without a reservation is madness! Packed with happy diners! Iordered the Tuna Tartare for my appetizer and it was fantastic... lottsa tuna and cuke and avocado, plenty of wontons. I could have ended my dining experience with that (or maybe ordered a second Tuna Tartare for my meal), but the Baja Tacos caught my eye. They were great, a definite favorite now.

Great service and ambiance. Will be back for sure! The sparkling rosé with the mussels was perfect too.

My boyfriend and I came here for a little day date and it was cute. He got a flatbread and I got a burger off the happy hour food menu. He got beer and I got a sangria. It was not the drink I hoped for, but I think it was just personal preference. I should have chosen something else. The food was delicious. The outdoor seating was nice on a breezy summer day. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. Overall, a nice experience!

Unbelievable! We had a wonderful dinner at the bar. Everybody was happy. My wife was there with her Service animal on her lap. The manager comes up to us and says that that's not allowed. She educated him on what the ADA laws were. He walked away in a huff. Then he sends later a bartender over to us to say that we would never be welcomed again, If we were to bring our dog to the bar, A well trained service animal that she needed desperately in the event of an emergency situation. The antagonistic approach and ignorance the manager and the staff is ever reprehensible. This is someone who should be arrested. This is against the law. The was no reason for multiple people to an attack my wife.

Drove from Providence to Dartmouth on a beautiful sunny late fall day to have lunch at the Sail Loft. We were seated in the porch area next to the boat yard -- it was sunny and bright. Our waitress was friendly and suggested several items we might enjoy. We took her up on her suggestion and were very satisfied with it. The service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Would go back again.

Loved it. A gorgeous day with warm temperatures always helps. We ate out back on the deck overlooking the marina. Many, many options on the menu but for lunch, I chose the Cobb. It was a classic rendition and well constructed. The ingredients were super fresh and the chicken cooked perfectly. The portion size was pretty huge and I couldn't finish it all. The service was great and I would come back here anytime!

Amazing restaurant with delicious food and beverages. Outdoor patio is spacious and dog friendly. Our waitress was attentive and she honestly acted like such a professional, it was a pleasure. Perfect spot to grab a bite in Padanaram after a day of shopping

So good!! We came here for taco Tuesday, as we've tried all the taco Tuesdays in SouthCoast! We loved this spot, the ambiance was adorable, our server Ashley M made our night, she was so friendly and super prompt with service. Tacos were FANTASTIC, by far one of the best taco Tuesdays the SouthCoast has to offer. I got the shrimp, chicken and short rib taco, the shrimp was my favorite but honestly they were all so good. We got a pitcher of margs to share, and ended with carrot cake and crème brûlée which both hit the spot. 10/10, I will absolutely be coming back.

Our favorite place to stop when in Padanaram. The whipped feta appetizer will be my last meal! Our server, Justin, was just wonderful. Only complaint was the baked cod + sides were very bland.

My wife and I visited Sail Loft in South Dartmouth today for lunch. We sat outside on a beautiful day to celebrate our 55th anniversary. While we had a reservatipon we did not need it. We had an order of calamari, shared a ceasar salad and a baked haddock with a nice bottle of wine. It all very well prepared and served. And to top it off they comped us dessert on the occasion to take with us as we were full of some of the best and most memorable lunch.

Took out of town guests for dinner this past Sunday. Three out of the six of us were disappointed. The baked cod was the worst. Very little fish overloaded with bread crumbs. I asked to substitute mashed for the fingerling potatoes when I ordered. They were cold and lumpy. I didn't eat them. Not what I've been accustomed to at the Silverstein restaurants. I've had the baked cod numerous times at Joe's Original and it was delicious. The carrot, green bean medley was a mix of overcooked and undercooked green beans combined with a few practically raw carrots. Not good at all. We ordered a carrot cake to go. There was more topping than cake. Not a good overall experience.

Always a great experience. Got the salmon salad and it was incredible. Partner got the baked sole and loved it. Some of the best dictations I've ever had and the place is beautiful. Fantastic bartenders. Pricey but worth it.

It may be THE place among the Dartmouth swells, but the food did little to impress me last night. Tried the special chopped clam/chourico flatbread pizza and all I could taste was cheese! A Southcoast place using tasteless clams and Portuguese sausage? Likewise, my wife's beet burrata salad was a disappointment to her.

Beautiful restaurant with great food, upbeat music and lively yet chill setting. Chowder was excellent and prices were reasonable. And drinks were yummy!

Our favorite restaurant in the village. We keep going back at least a couple of times a month and I can't be more pleased than the way they take care of us.

Everything about the Sail Loft is excellent. The food, service and ambiance are great. One thing is the lack of parking which they can't really control. All ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection.

The food, the service, even dog friendly!!! We had the best time celebrating a very important birthday! Carly, the manager and Melissa our server could not have been nicer!!! They made us feel so special! We go there a lot but this night was absolutely perfect in every way! Lottie, the pup, even sat for two hours without making a sound! The atmosphere was perfect for her and our large party of ten!!! Thank you SailLoft for the best birthday ever!!!

The drinks are outstanding!! The menu could be considered limited, but only for a truly picky eater. Great food!

We go to Sail Loft about twice a month, year-round. It's definitely our 'go to' when we aren't sure what we want to eat because the menu has a lot of options we enjoy and the food is consistently good and we've never had a bad experience. I don't write reviews often but wanted to drop this note because we were there the Sunday afternoon of Fourth of July weekend and there was a woman seated at the next table who was being problematic and just trying to cause a problem (in my opinion). She sounded so outrageous to me that I honestly thought she was joking at first. I won't get into the details here, but i felt like she was unnecessarily and unfairly targeting us with her scorn. I wanted to say that both their waitress, and a manager/hostess who went to the table, were so professional and patient in their handling of the situation. Both of them checked on us later to make sure the incident didn't dampen our experience there. They both conducted themselves extremely well and the entire team, including our own waitress, made sure we felt welcome and had a good experience. You should be proud of your staff. We look forward to continuing to be regular customers (I highly recommend the mussels, Thai shrimp, fish tacos and chicken piccata).

This is a FIVE Star restaurant. The menu is great and the food is do awesome. We fell in love with this restaurant and can't wait to return. Great views and loved the nautical vibe.

Thanks to Buzzards Bay Brewing's instagram feature we discovered this gem so close to home. We waited a little for dinner on a Friday night which is to be expected. We had a great time observing the bartender and figuring out that we would love to come back sometime just for drinks and half price apps (4-6 every day!!). It finally became our turn to be seated. Off season the seating is limited but in nice weather there is a whole patio and outdoor bar, looks fun. I asked for a drink recommendation off of 2 choices. The waitress highly recommended the watermelon margarita. My husband got a glass of wine. For dinner I tried the Portuguese steak tips and husband got a special of shrimp and chicken Mozambique over pasta. He was a little disappointed with his dish but would come back to try something else. I loved my meal. The sauce was delicious, chips had a crunch and steak pieces were tender. We'll be back for sure!!

Food here is great. I love Black Whale so I was pleasantly surprised to find out they have the same ownership group. It's pretty easy to eat cleanly here. Our server was a bit of a dud but I looked around and the other servers looked like they were doing a great job so next time I go I'm sure I'll have a different server and the experience from start to finish will probably be wonderful.

This is not only a beautiful spot but the food is amazing and service is top notch. We ordered take-out and every dish was excellent from nachos, chicken tenders with two different sauces, hot honey chicken sandwich and a burger. Everyone was happy with their meal. The drink menu has a wonderful selection. Great spot!

The customer service is excellent. I had a gift card issue that was the US Mail delayed delivery issue. I realized I wouldn't have time to receive and then send to my son who lives in Dartmouth. I spoke to the manager who hand delivered the gift certificate to the mail box on time for Christmas. It surely was above and beyond and so appreciated. I already knew the food is excellent, but the customer service is great. Thank you again!

Perfect location with a beautiful view. Service from Abbie was great - she gave me excellent recommendations. The burrata salad was to die for and clam chowder was very tasty loaded with clams and potatoes !!! Def worth a visit - excellent menu with lots to choose from Very friendly staff !!!

Ordered from here for the first time tonight for dinner to take home and unfortunately the entire order was made incorrectly so I made the 20 min drive back there and it was fixed quickly with a very sincere apology. The food was made correctly and my family enjoyed all the food. I will note from what I saw the restaurant itself looked very nice inside and very busy. Looks to be a popular player and I will def be bringing my family to dine in sometime soon to try some of their other foods. Thank you to management for being very personable and friendly during my transaction. Mistakes happen but it's how you handle the mistake and they handles it top notch. Kudos..

Food, service and location are great. A must stop in Dartmouth! Able to make reservations and were seated promptly.

Come here for the beautiful view and the great cocktails. They also offer 50% off apps from 4-6 pm weekdays. Be prepared however because it is bar food for the most part, which = fried (deliciousness). The cocktails I sampled were: the Pomegranate Margarita which was so yummy. The Minty Greyhound sounded great but was a bit too sweet. The Motini was good but crazy strong. That would've been the only cocktail I would've needed had I had it first. I had to share it as I was fearful about driving after having that and one other drink. The Cranberry Mule was superb! The appetizers were plentiful; our group tried just about one of everything. I would recommend the scallop pizza and the calamari. There were lots and lots of carb options. But, the view, though.

We had a wonderful experience at the Sail Loft last night. Our server, Shannon, was awesome. She was prompt and very funny. She even rapped "Bust a Move" when we jokingly asked her to rap the menu. The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the dessert-especially the clam chowder. We will definitely be back!!

This place was fantastic. My friend just moved to the area and I had never been to Massachusetts before, and we popped in here to try my first ever lobster roll and it did not disappoint. Everything we tried tasted INCREDIBLE, especially the crab rangoon and crème brûlée. Very reasonably priced and chill atmosphere, the staff was super helpful and very stylishly dressed. Will DEFINITELY be returning when I'm back in town!

I was so excited to have my first lobster roll of the season and the website said the lobster roll was on a brioche bun which was right up my alley since I hate hot dog buns used for anything other than hot dogs. Well much to my dismay the lobster meat came nestled in a hot dog bun with a side of cold french fries. My lobster meat was dry and scarce, for 28 dollars I was not impressed at all. My boyfriend on the other hand had a delicious piece of pan seared salmon atop a scrumptious bed of asparagus, mushrooms, and red onions. My advice is stay away from the lobster roll I feel like I wasted my money.

The Sail Loft has great staff and a really nice outdoor dining area. All of the proteins on three Caesar salads were over cooked and dry. The calamari at the next table looked fantastic, tho.

Really good steak tips and burgers. The fish and chip was ok. Tater-tots on the menu! Service was really slow. I would go back for red meat and a salad.

The new owner revamped this place. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is great, and the food was awesome. 10/10 recommend

Stopped in for a quick snack and sat at the bar. Right away I didn't appreciate where they store their ready to use glassware, right in front of the patrons at the bar, unprotected! Don't know how the Board of Health lets them get away with that. Anyway I decided on the Mussels with an accompanying portion of Fries. The presentation was nice. The Mussels were OK, no dominant flavor with the exception of the Mussels, a little over one pound. The Mussels came with two slices of a very good Bread. The results were a potential 'monkey puzzle'. There wasn't enough bread to totally appreciate the Mussel base but the Mussel base wasn't as flavorful as I would expect to warrant more bread! The Fries were good, they served Heinz Malted Vinegar which is always a plus. Service was attentive, maybe because they were being monitored as the place is still newly opened. Drinks were premium priced. It's nice that the SailLoft has reopened, they're newly opened and trying to find the way, but after the Summer crowd has left it should get interesting. I'd do something with that exposed glassware!
