"Picture tightly packed tables, red and white chequered tablecloths, a collection of biscuit tins and French songs and jazz playing in the background: the scene is set in this friendly welcoming bistro. The locals flock here to sample its specialities from the Basque Country, Lyon and Southwest France. Calf’s brain and tartare sauce, confit of duck leg, veal sweetbread and kidneys rich in regional flavours. Heart-warming authentic nosh steeped in traditional Gallic generosity!" - Michelin Inspector

One of the very best restaurants in Brussels. The food “tout était incroyable”!! The service was excellent. I know everyone enjoys eating outside on warm summer evenings but the interior of the restaurant is wonderful. And you just might get to hear ABBA playing and even hear the staff singing along just the best. I enjoyed the pate de campagane, salad perigard and apple sorbet with calvados. This restaurant even has a Michelin bib gourmand. Again everything was great!

IN short: “leaving a food experience” LOCATION. Full of details, immersive experience in a typical inn. This restaurant offers you the possibility to escape for a dinner from ordinary locations FOOD. Food is strong, tasteful, well done. loved the “saucisson”. Delicious SERVICE. Super! And dogs allowed! PRICE. Adequate!

Really great food and lovely service. We sat out on the main street and the atmosphere was nice. Beware though that some people might come around playing very loud music (see video) so if that isn't good for you then you might prefer to sit inside or out the back. The food was really amazing and we all enjoyed the duck. The desserts were lovely too!

This place is such a delight. Cosy, comfy, welcoming. The man and woman running the show were incredibly helpful and cheerful - people who take so much pride in their restaurant and are so appreciative of each guest. Food is classic French fare - and all of it done perfectly. Lovely evening!

The food was mediocre and far too expensive for the quality. Honestly, for that price, I expected something better but was very disappointed. The meat was overcooked, and the soup was tasteless. And don't get me started on the wine—the worst Beaujolais I have ever had! At least the service was nice and friendly. Not recommended! Edit: The menu changes every few months, and we went there for dinner two months ago. So pay attention to what they have!

Authentic French food, great quality and taste. We went to this place for dinner and taste wise it was very pleasant. Even though the prices are comparably high, it’s adequate for the quality. As for the size of the plates, it’s a normal portion, not too big or too small. Unfortunately the card wasn’t available in English during this time, but they mentioned that usually they do have an English card too. The staff is nice and helpful as well.

The waiters were super friendly and supportive. I was even offered help with picking something from the menu card since I can’t speak French and thus couldn’t read the menu. The meat and sauce were extremely tasty. The french fries were a bit too fatty for my preference though. I’ll definitely come back on my next visit to Brussels.

Unfortunately it didn’t live up to the expectations set online. Duck fois gras was great. However finding a hair in my main dish wasn’t good and put me off my food. Cutlery was also a bit worn out. I pay attention to the little things and the charm of this place couldn’t cover those mistakes up. Needs to pay a little more attention to the little things and not get complacent as they have been there a while. The staff were great and apologetic. A shame.

Yelp
Having not originally set out to eat here (the restaurant I had planned to go to was full), I was very pleased with this alternative option. Arriving for food on a Saturday night without a reservation, the restaurant said they could find space for our party, so long as we didn't mind the service being a bit slow as they hadn't accounted for us. Since I was catching up with friends, and in no rush this was perfect (and far better than being given a seat and rushed out to make way for others). The food here was absolutely delicious - I had duck breast in a cider sauce with vegetables for my main (all cooked to perfection), and was then tempted by a meringue, ice cream and chocolate dessert. All accompanied by the house red. Well worth a trip
