"A semifinalist for the 2017 James Beard Foundation’s “Best New Restaurant” in 2017, Saint Leo from owner Emily Blount is hands down one of the best dining experiences in town. The handsome, airy dining room is fragrant with wood-fired Italian cooking, including creative pizzas topped with the likes of bacon jam and Calabrian chili honey. Everything is good, the service is stellar, and the cocktail program earned a James Beard nomination of its own in 2019." - Beth D'Addono

One of Oxford’s best and most fun! Just off the north west corner of the Square, St Leo is walking distance to and from all things Oxford. Excellent drinks and apps. The dishes are elevated. One of the apps is grilled bread and it’s excellent. Fresh salads. A variety of entrees and killer pizzas. Ask them to cook it a minute longer in the pizza oven. It’s makes the edges have the crispy goodness that crust lovers love. Excellent service. Not fast, but reasonable. They were very crowded on a Friday afternoon and performed well. It’s also a great place to people watch. Saw friends from out of town, my hometown and Emeril was there. BAM!

Great place brunch. Great service from Amber and other servers. Food was delicious. One which was recommended by our server was very delicious. Ambience and the other customers were high class. We four had a great time there. Our friends were visiting us after months. I would recommend others to visit this restaurant as well. When my kids visited on Christmas, we came here and had a wonderful and memorable time. 🥰❤️

We were in town for a wedding and had dinner here on the 4th of July. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. The food was fabulous and it was the perfect spot to have a great dinner with other friends who were in town. I had the chicken piccata over noodles and the wine the waitress recommended to go with it was delicious and perfectly crispy for a warm summer night. Highly recommend stopping here for a bite when in Oxford!

Google
Wonderful experience here. My brother and I had a hard travel day and we were so grateful to meet Lauren! I could not imagine going back without getting to experience dinner with her. She made us feel welcome and seen. Can’t wait to go back!

I had an incredible dining experience at Saint Leo’s! I ordered the fish of the day, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The presentation was beautiful, and every bite was a delight. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy yet elegant, and the staff was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a spot with amazing food and great service, Saint Leo’s is definitely the place to go. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

This is an amazing resturant with wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. But the service is beyond top notch. We finished a college tour at Ole Miss and had heard great things about this resturant…and it did not disappoint. My daughter was freezing due to her low iron anemia and she requested to have us moved. They did this with absolute graciousness and the manager even sat down with us for a moment! Cannot recommend this gem enough!!!

Grabbed dinner at the bar. Service was solid and the food was really good. Had the bolognese and a really tasty little dessert.

I love this place. The food is always delicious. The service is great every single time. Chopped salad- amazing. The pizzas are just so good. Honestly, everything is excellent.

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite spots in Oxford! Great ambience, excellent service and the food is amazing. Can't go wrong with any of the pastas and the Bianca pizza with a Caesar salad is my fave. I usually just get a margarita but they have several crafted cocktails along with a great wine menu. Also their brunch menu is amazing! Only tough piece is having to get a reservation days in advance because they fill so quickly. But clearly when it's that good, certainly expected!

Yelp
Dinner for 8. - Ambiance (4*) Dark and moody inside but a bit noisy. Lots of college kids around but dressed nicely either in groups or on dates. - Service (3*) Our waiter was friendly but perhaps a bit awkward? He made a bunch of strange jokes that didn't really land. He also suggested that we order 2 portions of the smaller olives, which would have been good except that we also ordered the Salumi Board which came with olives. Would have been nice if he had pointed that out. Two of our entrees came out a good 5 minutes after the rest arrived, creating that awkward moment where everyone stares at their dish but elects to wait. - House Marinated Olives, $7 (5*) Not too salty. Could actually taste the rosemary, garlic, and chili. I told one of the guys who works for me that if I was ever upset with him, he should just send me a jar of these olives, and I might get over it. - Salumi Board, $32 (5*) Loved the grilled bread. Is it really just garlic bread grilled? It tasted too good for that to be the case? Then that stracciatella cheese with honey dripped on top of the bread? I told that same guy he should send me some bread and cheese along with the olives! - White Beans, $13.50 (5*) This guy, who's local, told me not to order the white beans even though he'd never had them himself. It's a good thing I persevered. So good! Great texture and flavor, and the heat from the chili flakes just made the whole thing a unique experience. I could've eaten a whole plate of this on its own. - Classic Meatballs, $22.50 (3*) Meatballs in marinara sauce. That's really all it was. Compared to all the superstars, this was decidedly mundane. - Bacon Jam & Calabrian Chili Honey Pizza, $19.50 (5*) I'll overlook the slight sogginess on the pizza because the flavor was something I'd never had on pizza before, and boy was it great! The waiter had suggested putting pepperonis on top- thank goodness we didn't listen because that would've covered up the startling delicious sweet and spicy flavors. As a pizza snob from New Haven, CT, I am picky about my pizza. Color me impressed. - Grilled Red Snapper, $42 (2*) How sad to finish the meal with an overcooked, overly salty piece of red snapper. - Value (3*) I found the meatballs and salumi board overpriced. Everything else was just right. - Final Word If I had only eaten the appetizers, and the service were a bit smoother, this would easily be 5*. When I'm back in town, I'm coming just to munch on olives and pizza!!

Yelp
Saint Leo is an 11/10 dining experience. Everything from the service, ambiance, and of course the food itself is amazing. The hostesses are always extremely accommodating and professional while the servers and bartenders are always well spoken and incredibly professional. The manager, Little, made my fiancé and I's experience all that much better. My fiancé and I have dined all over the country and we've never had a more professional yet personal experience. We were visiting from Southern California and somehow found ourselves back there every day during our stay!

Lorraine W.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, but I wasn't blown away by the food or drinks. Not bad and visually appealing, but pretty standard experience.

Lauren L.

Yelp
Saint Leo is the best dining experience in Oxford. The food always exceeds expectations and the cocktail menu is always impressive. Saint Leo has an atmosphere that is formal yet comfortable. The service is always top notch. I've visited Saint Leo quite a few times. My most recent visit was for a birthday dinner at the end of April. Our server Lauren (what a great name!) was so fun and attentive. While their dinner is always divine, I highly recommend swinging into Saint Leo for brunch to get the bubbles and fries!

Amber B.

Yelp
Came here on brunch, it was a rainy morning so that may have been why we were seated so quickly. However, it took over 10 minutes for our server to come and that was a bit sketch to me. The brunch menu is limited. I will say, the avocado toast is a 10/10. From the eggs.. bread. Perfect. Our other guest had a salad and he raved about how fresh it was. My dish was described as a pancake but it tasted like bread pudding. I love bread pudding, but it wasn't what I was expecting for my first meal of the day. I won't get this again. The mimosa was generous. It came out to be ten dollars. Overall, the ambiance was nice and restroom really clean.

Yelp
This is such an Ole Miss sorority (and their parents) spot, but we needed a late lunch in Oxford on a Sunday, and those are hard to come by. Food was super rich, tons of butter. Needed a couple bottles pink champagne to cut through the heavy, but we had miles to go before we slept. Come to think of it, we were about the only folks in the restaurant not drinking. The room is essentially a big bar with TVs in the center--and white tablecloths--so it covers a lot of ground. Best advice--drink up!

P B.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Oxford! Food tasted great, my waiter was very professional and knowledgable. The ambiance made me feel like I was somewhere in Italy, and not in Mississippi. I would recommend this restaurant to families to a teen who is considering going to Ole Miss.

Sara S.

Yelp
Great place on the square in Oxford. We popped down there without reservations on a Wednesday night. I recommend getting reservations or you'll be in the bar, which is cool but the chairs are uncomfortable. They had plenty of open booths but one hostess was quick to hush the other when she pointed that out. Extensive wine list, beer options are all IPAs that frankly I don't like. Pizza was good-very NY style with the super thin crust. Not sure I'd drop $20 on this again. Their pasta was what brought us here as my work colleague had it previously and was craving it. She loved it but I have to be honest, $40 for a bowl of bolognese and a glass of red seems a bit much, coming from a girl who has been to Italy and had the real deal. All in all, good atmosphere and food but I think if we find ourselves in the square again we'll try another spot.

Greg M.

Yelp
We ate here before I Oxford high school game one Friday night. Very cool atmosphere, service was great and the food was delicious.

David M.

Yelp
The food was great, the service was amazing, and the whole vibe was very chill. I took some olives to go and they made great road snacks!

R.J. H.

Yelp
Great service, although slow. We were told when we were seated by the hostesses that there was a reservation at our table in 2 hours. Appreciate the heads up but don't deliver slow service and that is plenty of time. Food was average at best but way overpriced for the quality and lack of flavor. We got the meatballs appetizer, $22.50 for 3 meatballs that lacked flavor. We ordered the mushroom pizza, there were a sparse sprinkle of mushrooms and only one type of mushroom. It was a 12" pizza with barely any cheese or mushrooms for $20+. See the pic. :). Had a Chardonnay what was below average and an Italian Pinot that was very good. My wife had 2 of the sparkling wines made with Chardonnay and Pinot grapes. Odd but actually tasted decent. We ordered blueberry/peach dessert that was probably the best tasting item of the night. Environment is nice, energy and noise level was good as well.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Only restaurant in Oxford that never disappoints. I've tried every pizza that's been on the menu (not all pictured here) so far. My all time favorite is the bacon jam and Calabrian chili honey with prosciutto at an extra cost recommended by Malik. Malik is an amazing waiter and always so kind! Cocktails are always amazing and the Marla Hooch is a must try. I was so happy it made it to the house cocktails.

Hayley L.

Yelp
Definitely worth the hype! Their food and service is soooo good. Will be back again to try their brunch!

Alicia E.

Yelp
Excellent meal! Chicken enchilada with green sauce was amazing. Great guacamole and bean dip. Son loved tacos and husband raved over ground beef burrito.

isabel f.

Yelp
Lives up to the hype!!!!!! So yummy, vibes are great, attentive wait staff. Highly recommend

Tara G.

Yelp
Lovely spot in downtown Oxford. It has a NY vibe but without the tables being on top of each other as they would be in NY:). The service was great and the entire staff was attentive and friendly. We had a meat and cheese board to start and I had the crab toast as an entree and both were delicious. The menu was pizza focused and had lots of interesting pizza options. They also have 3 pasta mains as well as a fish of the day and a few other entree choices. I opted for the small plates with some wine and it was plenty of food. Definitely a great date place!

Jen C.

Yelp
Took my daughter and her friend for brunch. I had the grits and they were delicious and so is the coffee. The girls both had the breakfast sandwich and they really enjoyed it. The service and setting are very nice. I would definitely go back on my next visit to Oxford.

Lee M.

Yelp
Might be our favorite cocktail and lighter dinner place. My wife loves the vibe. Good place in a town with many great restaurants

Brad E.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday. Had Grayson as a bartender. Excellent service from the door to dessert. Good cocktails. Excellent food. Casual but elevated at the same time. A must see when in Oxford.

Sheila H.

Yelp
What a special find! We were a long way from home and looking for some great food and a fun atmosphere! We struck gold! We were treated like royalty by the manager and staff. The food was delicious - with very large portions. We left falling in love with the town and restaurant and the hospitality!

Requel P.

Yelp
This was a beautiful, intimate Italian restaurant located on the Square. Definitely new to this 10 year graduate, so I was very excited to try it out. There was a small wait when my friends and I arrived. Once seated we ordered drinks and looked over the menu. I decided to split some pizza and their chopped salad. The pizza was good, but the chopped salad was damn good! Afterwards I ordered their homemade chocolate ice cream and OMG I would return for that alone! It was so creamy with chocolate chip pieces just amazing! I definitely loved the ambiance of the restaurant.

Avery T.

Yelp
I am so impressed with the caliber of this restaurant. We brought our two young daughters and the manager offered us not one, but two small bowls of blueberries and strawberries. A host brought us a coloring sheet.. It was beyond thoughtful and we appreciated it greatly! Beyond service, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was calm and beautiful! 10/10 recommend and we will be back! I had the Prosciutto Arugula Pizza.

E H.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. The pizzas and shrimp appetizer are excellent. We sat at the bar. Reservations can be VERY difficult to obtain, so if you're looking for a busy game weekend, be online before 9am 30 days prior to try and book something!

Chad B.

Yelp
Food fit for a saint in a classy Southern atmosphere. Well run, clean, and maintained. The service is prompt and professional. I had the proscuitto and arugula pizza which tasted brick oven cooked and had charred crust. The proscuitto and dry crust balanced nicely balanced each other. The arugula was like a small salad piled atop of the pizza which I ate after the pizza. While a creative touch, I would have preferred it either come separately or be apportioned and spread throughout. The presentation went well, however. I was there on a Saturday around noon during spring break week at nearby University of Mississippi. The seating was at roughly a quarter capacity. Most of that quarter consistent of two separate groups of about six and eight women respectively. The women traversed groups and exclamed, "show me the rock" (by which she meant wedding ring). Another woman at the bar inspected a different woman's ring. Must be a Southern thing to make a spectacle of inspecting one ring? Or perhaps Saint Leo knows Cupid. Either way, the people watching added to the experience.

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
I had the Bianca pizza and it was delicious. I loved the prosecco pop. Great staff, cute place.

Shelia H.

Yelp
Our server 'Price' was Top Notch! His attention to customer service was exceptional! Not to mention the cocktails he made for us, and our meals were divine! A must if ever in OM.

Hugh W.

Yelp
The food is pretty good and the vibe is great, but it's a long wait to get in with a longer wait for them to deliver your 4-star food. It's a little expensive, but a good place to take friends.

Steven I.

Yelp
The Bianca pizza is a must!!! We also loved the Kale salad with grilled chicken. It was the perfect meal.

Madge Marley H.

Yelp
Best in Oxford, hands down! They have improved the atmosphere dramatically in their new location since the recent renovation. Much better now! Sound is much improved! Recently had dinner there on 12.23/22 and the classic Meatballs appetizer was outstanding. I had never ordered it before but it will now be my absolute go to. The new crabmeat app was tasty too. The Little Gem Caesar Salad was divine and was a very generous portion. Loved the tiny bread crumbs on it. We splurged on a Prosciutto, Arugula and Mozzarella Pizza. We each had a pasta. I loved my Mezzi Rigatoni, which was a bit spicy but rich and good! My husband loved his Linguini. We ended it all with each relishing our favorite dessert ever, not on the menu but available, the dreamy Italian Budino! Pricy but so worth it. Excellent service and atmosphere was cozy, once again, much with the feel of the old smaller location which we adored, but lighting even better now! In fact, I now like this location better now than the original one. It was an overall wonderful dining experience! Thanks, Emily! You hit it out of the park every time. Constantly improving and pleasing your customers! We are thankful to have this gem of a restaurant! Madge

Stacy M.

Yelp
Had a reservation here during a visit to ole Miss. it was fancier than expected with mood lighting. Seemed more like a date spot then for dinner with my potential student. Good was very good - we had pizza and salad. Service was good as well

MissingtheBeach I.

Yelp
This is an Oxford favorite and has yet to disappoint these wannabe foodies. I have been on multiple occasions and had the honor of sitting with a local who said it is the best place in Oxford. Just be sure to make a reservation!

Ellen W.

Yelp
I regularly dream about the little gem Caesar salad.... Always a must visit while in Oxford!

Eli H.

Yelp
Amazing pizza with high quality service. Great atmosphere inside. A bit pricey but it's worth it.

J M.

Yelp
Beautiful Italian restaurant just off the square in Oxford. Portions are large and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The chopped salad was to die for, and I hope I can replicate in my own kitchen. The meatballs were tasty with the perfect red sauce. The pizza was unbelievably good, we ordered both mushroom and pepperoni. And the pappardelle! Can't wait to come back. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive.

Kristin B.

Yelp
Food was great and Logan was a super conversationalist. A little pricey, but no complaints

LaNair L.

Yelp
Absolutely love St Leo. There's not a distasteful plate or drink in the place! I love when they switch up the menu. The only downside is how long they will hold reserved tables when the reservation doesn't show. Service is always too notch and consistent. The ambiance is fun, classy, and chic - but semi casual!

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Stopped in here for one last drink & snack before calling it a night and instantly enjoyed the vibe around 945pm on a Saturday. It was dark and moody with lots of candlelight, place was buzzing with a 30 and over crowd. We had already had dinner & a cocktail at another restaurant earlier in the evening so we we're just looking for a spot at the bar. Seated right away upon arrival & our bartender was attentive and quickly let us know that if we wanted dinner or a snack to order soon because kitchen closed at 10. We appreciated that and decided to go with olives & grilled bread. I LOVE olives, can eat them like popcorn and the ones at St Leo's are very flavorful; grilled bread was tasty as well. For drinks we had the Starting Pistol & Marla Hooch - both were quality cocktails, solid pours, refreshing and well balanced. This was our first visit but both agreed we will be back for full dinner, more cocktails and definitely more of those olives!!!

Rosemary G.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. I had the Cesar salad, portion was enough for 2 people. Pizza was very good. Drinks were spicy in a good way.

Helen C.

Yelp
Perfect place for a lil self date-- swinging through town? Treat yo self. Food + service can't be beat

Michael R.

Yelp
Our absolute favorite spot in Oxford, MS when visiting our daughter. Great food, amazing variety, the friendliest of staff. All-around this is an A++! Tends to get busy, especially during event weekends, so be patient in getting a table. Once you do, you will be a fan for life! Ambiance is perfection!

Chris L.

Yelp
With no reservation we took a chance knowing it was going to take a bit to get in on a busy Friday night, but we eventually got in. I highly recommend reservations. Two of us had the Orecchiette, which was very tasty although the portion was a bit light. The other two had pizza, which were fantastic. All around a good experience and worth the wait.

Joshua D.

Yelp
Great place to hang out for a drink or trying something new! They rotate some of the menu so that there's always something fresh to try. The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the menu items, which helped me choose for my picky palate!

Jana V.

Yelp
Excellently prepared and innovative food. Excellent service. The chopped salad was especially delicious.

Georgiann E.

Yelp
This place was cute and busy. The food was yummy! Got a bottle of wine, with 3 pizza Neopolian style in 800 degree oven. Had the burratta & Sopressa, margarita + prossutto, and The prosutto arugula mozzarella. All very delicious. We also got the 2 sausage, broccoli orrechiette in white wine outstanding flavors. Service was 5, really enjoyed our dining expierence. Bravo!

Michael T.

Yelp
The dining experience at Saint Leo was truly sublime. My wife and I appreciated the nuanced attention to detail including the sensual and opulent atmosphere. The suave lounge music did not go unnoticed, and it made us feel like we were indulging at a swanky New York City establishment. It was just what the doctor ordered for our four-year anniversary! This would not be an adequate review if I did not comment on the budino and stupendous customer service from Logan. We just found out we are expecting our first child together, and I want to take the time to sincerely thank this establishment for setting the mood. 11/10 dining experience. We will most definitely make a special trip to dine at Saint Leo in anticipation of baby #2!!

J J.

Yelp
Some of the worst Italian food I've ever had. I had the PAPPARDELLE BOLOGNESE and it had the taste and consistency of warmed up hamburger helper. No pre-meal bread/olive oil, pita sticks, bread sticks as almost all good Italian restaurants have. Service was marginal at best. I don't know what the big deal is about this place. Big waste of my time and money. I'd never go back, or take anyone here again.

Zach F.

Yelp
Love this place best pizza in Oxford. Service is always top notch and they always are very friendly.

Breanna F.

Yelp
From the ambiance to the grilled garlic bread appetizer paired with a cocktail to this melt in your mouth pasta - Saint Leo definitely is a unique restaurant to the Oxford community. The waiters and servers were very helpful during my first visit. Price point - $$$
