The Twin Cities’ Best Breweries With Outstanding Food | Eater Twin Cities

"This brewery’s cozy patio feels like a bunch of storybook moments sewn together at random — nestled in the ruins of the Hamm’s brewery, it has comfy seating and a fireplace built into a canoe. The patio is a must for newbies or those looking for a truly unique place to drink (it also happens to be dog-friendly). The ambiance makes sharing a flight and wood-fired pizza like the Drunken Pig Pizza that much more enjoyable. The Drunken Pig is essentially a loaded baked potato, with the mashed potatoes, sour cream, roasted red potatoes, and bacon all providing a satisfying replication of said potato style, all built upon a slightly charred and chewy crust. As for the beer, expect options like bock, dry-hopped IPAs, and barley wine, plus cans of Hamm’s and pints of the brewery’s “Shamm’s” — an ode to the historic location. Online ordering is available." - Louis Livingston-Garcia

One of my go-to spots in Saint Paul! Great beer, solid food, and the vibes are always on point. The patio is open when the weather is good and it is so cute! I love the tab system - so no need to chase down servers to order. It’s just an easy, fun place to hang with friends. I highly recommend it!

What a cool spot! In the old Hamms brewery with awesome renovations while keeping the historic charm. This is definitely a must see when visiting. A variety of beers that did not disappoint. Plenty of space indoor and outside. Dog friendly!

Located in the old Hamm’s Brewery, St. Paul Brewing is a charming oasis in the city. Their huge decorative patio is a terrific place to gather with friends and enjoy beers, cocktails, and really good food. On a nice summer evening, my friend and I shared the sausage and pretzel platter plus the excellent dry rub wings. I loved that the pretzel was lightly charred and came with a tasty cranberry horseradish mustard. Definitely coming back with friends to try the pizzas and other foods.

Google
Fantastic atmosphere on the patio, dining room looks great as well. We had pizza and it was excellent, it and drinks were brought out really quick on a Sunday. Burgers and salad at table next to us also looks great. Definitely worth checking out, not sure there is anything else like it in the cities.

Google
Very unique building & outside patio. Dog friendly. Super chill staff, very friendly & engaging. You'll love the outside seating area. Lots of unique statues, planters, etc. Corleone Pizza was delicious. Not super spicy (chili crunch). Crust was super crunchy & not overdone. Highly recommend the Korean chicken nachos. Great drinks (I like sweet) Peaches peaches peaches - great starter drink, higher %. Then, I got the watermelon lime hard seltzer (very light, not overly sugary) .

Google
on top of quality beers (my personal favs are Shamm's and their porter), they have by far the cutest and most inviting interior and patio in the whole TC area. it's super nice to sit back, relax, and have a decent pint in whichever spot you'd choose to settle. I absolutely love their tater tots 🤤 pizzas are solid, too, though a bit greasy to my taste. ps. I urge you to contact St.Paul city officials 🤡 who have recently cooked up yet another ridiculous redevelopment plans, which can REALLY harm this fantastic business that proudly carries on Hamm's Brewery legacy.

Google
Really cool hidden gem just east of downtown St. Paul! The beer is good and service is quick. The food is decent as well

Google
The ambiance is truly amazing, both indoors and outdoors, creating a delightful experience no matter where you choose to sit. The outdoor seating, in particular, offers a unique charm, with the natural feel of ruins adding a fascinating and atmospheric touch to the surroundings. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the environment. The outdoor area also offers food service, allowing guests to enjoy a delicious meal while fully immersed in the ambiance. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and efficient, contributing to an overall enjoyable visit. However, it’s important to note that the place can become quite crowded, especially on weekends. If you plan to visit during peak times, it's a good idea to plan ahead or make a reservation to ensure you get the best experience without long waits.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. My family and friends (from Los Angeles and Phoenix) visited Saint Paul and spent a few hours here. Great beer, great food, awesome ambiance!! Also - while taking a break outside I met the nicest gentleman (he's a regular here) who knew so much history about the area and spent an hour or so explaining everything about the history of the building and those adjacent and it was an awesome experience. He walked my friends and I around the block and pointed out some of the important landmarks and timelines.. I cannot recall his name at the moment but he was just a very nice fella and made the experience that much better!! My group had to come find me and we left in a hurry but I wish I could remember this gentlemen's name so I could write him a letter and say thank you!

Yelp
Ambiance: The backyard patio is so unique. It's worth checking out even if you don't drink, just hangout. The inside is also very visually interesting. Games available to play. XXX Bees outside were so bad XXX. The outside bar was closed due to bees. Service: Bartenders are friendly and gladly offer samples. Food service and clean up staff were friendly. Card only. Food ordering is pretty sophisticated if you have a smart phone. All drinks were good: pineapple strawberry kambucha (non-alcoholic), and the two hard seltzers were my favs. Pizza was good. The elotes brussel sprouts were the bomb. XXX The Shamm's patty melt was not good XXX. The 'lager braised onions' ruin the taste as they are bitter and sour. Price: food is reasonable, drinks are spendy, added fees and taxes are shocking. But - typical for businesses operating in St Paul. I don't mind the service fee 18% in lieu of tipping.

Yelp
I love the aesthetic of this place. It's very fun, unique and has the old industrial vibe. I like all the cool art and up-cycled art pieces and furniture. They had a cool phone booth that played music when you pick up the phone. The patio was very nice. You can order food to your table via a QR code. They had a bar on the patio as well. The had a nice variety of drinks/beers to choose from. My mom got the F- cancer ale when was cherry flavored - it was good. I got the Peaches Peaches Peaches fruited sour- it was the okay (I'm not a big beer drinker). The food menu looked really good but we did not eat. So I'm excited to go back sometime and try some of the pizza especially. They have a smaller lot right outside the door but a bigger lot just around the corner (just a short walk through an alley turned walked way).

Yelp
Went to Saint Paul Brewing for the first time recently. This is now my new favorite brewery! There's so much I can say so I'll break it down the best I can. 1. The patio is AMAZING. It's massive and reads like an eclectic sculpture garden. There's so much to see and so many unique things all around you. Even some of the seating is creative - check out the swing chairs in my photos! I've never had so much fun just being at a table. 2. The food was INCREDIBLE. We had a pizza, SPB burger, and plantain tacos. 10/10 on everything. The cheese was perfectly gooey and melty on the pizza, the burger sauce was top notch, and the plantain tacos were something I'd never seen anywhere else and they were amazing! 3. The tap selection was great and they also have cocktails, which is something not a lot of breweries offer. As someone who prefers cocktails to beer, this was a a great option for me. It's not just canned cocktails either, they actually have their own cocktail menu with crafted drinks! 4. There is a parking lot - no hassle with street parking which is something that does deter me from venturing into the cities. It's also free to park! 5. Ordering is super simple - scan the QR code for your table and order directly from your phone. I actually like this model because you don't have to wait for someone to come to you. As soon as you know what you want, you can place your order. Also you can guarantee any customizations you want will be put in correctly. I will definitely, 100% be making this a regular destination even if it's a little out of the way for me. Saint Paul Brewing nailed it in every category.

Yelp
One of the coolest brewery locations we've ever been too. Amazing food and staff! Can't wait to come back some time!

Yelp
Saint Paul Brewing is a cool place to hang out. The interior has such a cool vibe and the outside patio is amazing. There is plenty of parking available in the main and overflow lots. There are plenty of drink options for everyone including N/A and THC beverages. Plus the food is very good! Everyone in my party was satisfied. I also really enjoy the fries - super crisp on the outside!

Yelp
I give this place a solid 4.5 stars. We stopped in early on a Friday. The person waiting on us was quick to tell us about happy hour specials and offer samples of their beer. After her suggestions, she chose some beer choices and a cocktail. For food, we tried the deviled eggs and the wings. The eggs were amazing. The wings were solid. The atmosphere is unique and fun. The patio has so many seating choices and cool uses of old items, old boats, wire spools, tires etc. The inside is equally a cool vibe. I recommend stopping if your in the area

Yelp
We love the vibe of this great brewery. We ate outside just before the Oktoberfest. They were having a Dogfest so many dogs were in costume. You order food online and the app didn't allow for options like half cheese/half pepperoni pizza or dressing on the side. We asked for help and very nice staff quickly made sure our orders came out correctly. I loved my experience and will definitely be back. I didn't give as good a review for Local by Host app that was used by this restaurant.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped into Saint Paul Brewing Company for lunch and overall, it was pretty good. It being our first time in, we wanted to try a few different things to share. Note, you must order drinks from the bar on one tab, and then order off a QR code at the table on a different tab. That was... not ideal. For drinks, I ordered the F*ck Cancer and my husband got the Shamm's -- both were great and I would totally order both of them again! For food, we ordered the Elotes Brussel Sprouts, Buffalo Chicken Wings, and the Bakers Ransom Pizza. The pizza was definitely our favorite, followed by the elotes brussel sprouts. The wings were nothing to write home about. The wings weren't very crunchy, had a little more skin on them than we prefer and the blue cheese and ranch dressing that was served with them was pretty flat in terms of flavor (likely not homemade). I wouldn't order the wings again. The Bakers Ransom Pizza was spicy, chewy, and delicious! We wished there was more sauce on it but overall, we would totally order it again. In general, I'll be back to Saint Paul Brewing Company to try more pizza and beer flavors.

Yelp
We stopped here while visiting family in town. The outdoor patio space is incredibly nicely done with picnic tables, umbrellas, and string lights. The beers were not bad, but nothing phenomenal. The staff was fantastic and other reviews suggest the pizza is amazing.
google avatar

Sandra S.

Yelp
In the area visiting family and looked to see what was open at noon. We were in luck Saint Paul Brewing located in the old Hamms Brewery was open at 11:30. Happy Hour pints started with a Shamm's, and a Crooks Haven Rye Porter. Second round was more Shamm's and a Black Helicopter, Oatmeal Stout. Everyone was awesome here. They greeted us and were very patient when I couldn't decide right away. The decor was so unique I almost wore out my cell battery. Pizza was delivered in a timely manner and was so delicious.

Yelp
Every time I have tried to come the place has been packed so I avoided it - I finally made to STB And I'm so glad I did, first of all this place is huge and hello! I know you've all heard of this amazing patio! The decor, the plants, the seating, the music it is such an amazing hangout spot! It's just a bonus that they have so many drink options, for you, your kids and your puppy friends! (Love Koru kombucha) We ordered pizza and the elote Brussels sprouts- everything was delicious! If you haven't been this summer you definitely need to make a point to hang here you won't regret it.
google avatar

Tracey F.

Yelp
It had been a while since we had been in to StP Brewing, but glad we stopped in. We actually were invited to a private event most recently. Note, they card at the door (maybe only on weekends?) But this makes it easier to see if you can order the brews or not. I was happy to see a dark beer on the list during the summer and they also now serve seltzers, in case beer isn't your thing. Had a couple pizzas and really enjoyed the pear/goat cheese and the hot honey pepper. The private event space is also quite nice, but could use a few more tables. A lot of us were cramming in around the few tables there.

Yelp
Saint Paul Brewing has an amazing space; it's huge with all brick walls and large, bright windows. The furniture is the eclectic mix of old pieces that look like they came from a thrift store, classic for a brewery/taproom. We popped out to the (dog friendly) patio for a minute, which is another really pretty area. They had fires going and what looked like a tent set up, so it was pretty comfortable for an unseasonably warm February day. The group I was with ordered pizzas and fries, which looked amazing. Everyone left full and happy for sure! The menu has a large variety of options for fun toppings and the fries were crispy and delicious. As far as the beers go, I tried: --F*ck Cancer (cherry wheat ale): this had less cherry punch than I was expecting. Honestly, it was a bit bland. My husband tried a sip and said it tasted like cough syrup, which I didn't really agree with. That being said, I didn't order a second. --Shamms: their take on a Hamms. It was light & refreshing, classically "just a beer". The flavor was maybe a bit more caramely than an actual Hamms, which I enjoyed. The only negative experience I had, outside of not loving my first beer, is that a staff member absolutely swooped in the second my friends and I stood up. I understand that they want to turn over tables when they're busy, but it felt pushy.
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
Such an amazing patio! I went with my parents after having been recommended by many people and having seen it in the StarTribune and it was great. Converting an abandoned building to a modern, artistic brewery is such a cool idea and they did it so well. They not only have beer but also wine and spirits and the cocktails I tried were so delicious and unique! The food was also great, we had cauliflower wings and the elote brussels sprouts which were SO DELICIOUS! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try somewhere new, though I wouldn't go if you can't sit on the patio because that's really the highlight of the place.
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
Made our way back to donate some coats and try their latest Porter series; an Irish cream infusion. I'll start off by saying the beer was amazing. We bought a growler to take home. The staff were great as always. Super friendly, helpful, and look to enjoy their work. Still a huge fan of mobile ordering. The fire pit is awesome. A canoe turned into a burner with cup holders all along the side. I got their panko fried cauliflower with the chipotle honey sauce and a seasonal warm kale salad. The cauliflower ranks in my top 1-2 "wings" in the cities. You usually only see buffalo and this was a tasty change of pace. The kale salad was kind of a let down. Despite all the flavorful sounding ingredients it was just really bland. Even the goat cheese didn't have much of a punch. I ended up adding a lot of salt to season it some. Don't think I'd get it again. My wife got the Italian and said it was really good. Nice soft hoagie roll and lots of sport peppers. Their fries are excellent. I'd say the main reason to come is the beer and ambiance. The food I've had so far has been "ok". I think they're trying to be St. Paul's answer to Surly and fall a bit short in the kitchen. We'll still be back, for sure.
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
This is a great place to hang with friends and drink good beer! Both the inside and outside spaces are cool. They had dropped most of the items from their menu that we were hoping to try and what was left was pretty limited and unremarkable.
google avatar

Eustacia T.

Yelp
The outdoor seating is beautifully decorated with lots of plants and art, creating a lovely atmosphere. The food and beer are delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Saint Paul Brewing is great for groups, families, or a unique date night. The patio is huge and has a variety of seating arrangements. There is ample seating inside, as well. The beers change periodically, but I recently tried their ESB called 'Chinwag' and it was delicious. The fruit-inspired cream ale and pale ale were both easy to drink. You can always get a $4 can of Hamm's, a nod to the brewery's roots. I really appreciate the variety of NA options here, too. The food is good, though be aware that the process for ordering is different from the drinks. Food is ordered from a QR code at your table, while drinks are ordered from the counter. One unique menu item is the plantain tacos, which I recommend as a vegetarian (and vegan) option. The pizzas are solid, and decently priced compared to other similar establishments. You could drive by this brewery without realizing it is there. Make an effort to get here and you won't regret it!
google avatar

Alissa A.

Yelp
Walking in, there is a line for beer and no bar to sit, eat, drink at. There are smaller booths towards the wall for that. I liked how every one included a wall charger! Drinks are ordered upon arrival, and the food portion can be pre ordered by QR code at the table. I got the "Shamms!" a 4.6% lighter lager. Second drink was the "F*ck Cancer," which tasted a little lighter and smoother actually; this was an ale (5.3%). Water has a self-serve station. The poutine had a very sour cream & onion flavoring to it! I liked the beef gravy, which added to the overall flavor. I had the SPB burger afterwards, which is full of flavor and crispy on the outside of the patties. The hamburger patty falls outside of the bun, which I don't love but hey! Overall, not your typical brewery...very self-serve, and worth noting that an 18% service charge is added to every tab.
google avatar

Kimberly F.

Yelp
There are good things and not as good things. Coming in we were in line to get our drinks. It moved along pretty well with multiple bar tenders. The bar tenders were polite and helpful. We opted to keep our tab open. You seat yourself and order through a scan code on the table. There was a glitch when we ordered and brunch options were still available through the app but not in the kitchen. We had someone come to our table and help change our order. The beer was good, the food was very good. There were lots of people families and couples of all ages, groups of friends. Closing out our drink tab was a bit of a problem because there is no separate line for people coming from the dining room you have to get back in line with the people who have just arrived.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere/setting in the original Hamms brewery! Beer and food were delicious and the weather was beautiful! Will definitely go back when in the area visiting my cousin again! Recommend the pizza, and sandwiches with salad, as well as the beer!
google avatar

Shayna T.

Yelp
Still excellent but they are NO LONGER DOG FRIENDLY INDOORS. I learned this the hard way...
google avatar

Ashlyn A.

Yelp
One of the best places to visit on your brewery tour in the twin cities. Great food, great seating, and great beer! What more could you need? Their outdoor space is so creative and fun to look at. Make sure you take time to walk around and see all the interesting items. I've never had a bad experience here with service, food, or drinks!!
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
Using our pub pass again this year and was so excited to find out St Paul Brewing now has a broader food menu. I tried the street tacos which were very good. It would be great if they came with a few tortilla chips but definitely more than enough to eat. Because there is food inside, no pups allowed inside anymore. Pups welcome on their patio which is awesome. Tons of seating in cozy, private seating areas. Love the patio. Service was good. QR codes make it easy to find a great spot on the patio and order from your table. Items were brought out quickly.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Nice place, staff, and vibe. Cards only - no cash. Bar service for beverages - no table service. Automatic 18% gratuity added. I travel a ton. Cheaper to drink beer in Midtown Manhattan than on the Eastside.. really. Of course super high St. Paul taxes too.. Love interesting fashion? You won't find that here..lol. Had a fun time though....Cheers!
google avatar

Annie D.

Yelp
We went here for a friends birthday and it was great! We sat outside and they have a great outdoor space with a lot of seating options. Inside is big as well. They have lots of drink options and even food. However, the food is a little expensive but tasty.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Great beer, cocktails, food (wood fired pizzas are my favorite), service, and atmosphere! Take the time to checkout the entire beer garden! I love chilling here and if you visit from out of town, you can bet I'm taking you here! Love that they repurposed the ole Hamm's brewery, too!
google avatar

Ashish G.

Yelp
Let's get good stuff first. Good ambience, friendly employees. Pizza (basically margarita) was decent - good crust. Now bad = I made my own flight (5 beers / smallest size they have). They were meh to bad. All were relatively flat. I believe I had a range - ale, sour, fruity ipa, porter and something else. None of them IMHO were good sadly. May try them one more time to see if their beers are more to my liking.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Had a great time at Saint Paul Brewing tonight! Came in for dinner and beers with my folks, I've never been and love that it's a local spot with an amazing aesthetic! So many plants everywhere and you can bring your dogs so there were dogs almost at every table, the goodest boys and girls! For food we ordered the potato chip battered chicken sandwich, the 'im greekin out' pizza, and fish & chips. We all loved our meals, the chicken sandwich was incredible, great flavor profile, juicy, crispy, amazing spicy garlic aioli, pickles, it was a real treat! The pizza I also tried and was impressed not only by the size but the flavor, I'm usually a pepperoni kind of guy but this pizza was so good with star ingredients like Kalamata olives, greens, and amazing crust. I was throughly impressed by all of the food, my mom loved the fish and chips as well. Beers were great! I had a cherry smoothie ale that was 5.4% and was the perfect fruity beer. I NEED to come back with my dog Molly and a group of friends on my next outing, big open space with lots of tables, doggos, beers, and even board games to choose from.
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
And the most beautiful St. Paul Brewery award goes to... St. Paul Brewing! Honestly this place blew me away with their amazing holiday decorations. Each room was decked out in garlands, bows, trees, and paper decorations. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but service was fast so we found seats in about 10 minutes. I love that St. Paul Brewing offers a wide variety of beers, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages. I actually had an Arnold Palmer and it was of course, delicious. We will have to come back again to try the food!
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
An absolutely stunning brewery with the best ambiance, food, and, beer! Was super easy to be able to seat yourself and order food from the table.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Such a fun ambiance!!! I honestly came here for the outdoor patio but then it was WAY too hot to sit outside so my friend and I settled inside and I was definitely pleasantly surprised. They have cool old vintage like furniture, beautiful light fixtures, and exposed brick. Beer is great!
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
It's basic in terms of a brewery and food. Nostalgic memories of the past though. The beer is tasty but again basic choices like other places. The floor layout is lots of small rooms like an old factory. Still fun but one and done.
google avatar

Elly P.

Yelp
Great place for beer and tasty foods with you best doggo or human besties Great chillin' place. Bring your knitting. Or scroll on insta all day while drinking and eating good
google avatar

J. S.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday before 4. Lots of off street parking Fantastic use of an old building Lots of indoor and outdoor space. Lots of conversation areas so you don't need to be involved with anything outside your group Beer was good and seltzer was good. Not too hoppy not too tart. Had a pizza and cheese bread. It was good stonefired food I bought a sweatshirt. Lots of cool swag but pricey. If you like roaming garage sales you will love the decor, inside and outside.....be sure you check out the entire place before you leave. Unfortunately it's across town. We will go back but it's 'one and done' for your driver if you live across town!
google avatar

Mihir P.

Yelp
we had a lot of fun here during the winter carnival. it was packed! luckily, we were able to share a table with a nice couple. there's no assigned table like a restaurant. you scan the QR code at the table, order your food, and they bring it out. it also allows you to meet fun, new people. we got the warm kale salad, poutine, and cheesy garlic bread pizza. they were all delicious! the pizza crust was nice and airy, so it didn't feel too heavy. the poutine was salty and delicious. but the star was the kale salad. I know. I said kale salad. I really did. but it's was just sooooo good. I had a couple bites of my wife's, got up to get some beers, and by the time I got back, she'd eaten it all. whatever happened to "for better or worse"? does that not apply to kale salad? the beer was tasty. we got the Space Pirate. juicy, but not overly fruity. went well with the foods we ordered.

AJ S.

Yelp
Their patio is probably the best one I've come across at any brewery in the twin cities area. It's a combination of olde industrial ruins much like Mill City Museum patio plus old artsy relic pieces strewn across it's landscape topped by a ceiling of stung colored lights. It really has an old world nostalgic romantic charm. The beer selection is decent. The hot food options are limited. Points off for the mandatory 18 percent service charge and no cash accepted. If you're looking to "get in the game" with a special someone, then taking them out to the patio on a quiet lovely spring/fall/summer evening might be the way to set the mood.
google avatar

Kari E.

Yelp
Beer is fine, but the real draw here is the beautiful patio! Tucked back in the "ruins" of the brewery, it's a charming collection of stuff, all arranged in creative seating areas. The inside space is nice too, for when patio season ends. They have food available and the pizzas are great.
google avatar

Susannah C.

Yelp
First off - this brewery has the most amazing patio. There is TONS of seating and every area is different. It's very whimsical and dystopian, almost like a very well put-together junk yard in the coolest way. I got the F*ck Cancer Cherry Ale and it was a great tart beer - if you're not a beer drinker, get this, or they have a few seltzers to choose from! My friends got the Watermelon-Lime seltzer and the Warlock English Golden Barleywine and both really liked theirs. Food-wise, we got the Queen of Savoy pizza and the dip plate - wish the dip plate came with more bread but it was fantastic! The Queen of Savoy was one of the BEST margarita pizzas I've ever had. All of their pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven. Overall, I think this brewery could have slightly better beer choices (no sours on the menu), but the food and patio make up for it. The beer menu is rotating so I would definitely go back to try something new!

Yelp
Amazing! Love it here! Great beers, service, space, and pizza. Good spot for kids as they have board games plus a super cool outdoor area.

Yelp
5 stars for an urban thrift graffiti heaven. The vibe is AMAZING! Music is chill and pleasing! The seating areas are grandmas's garage sale thrifted, and I LOVE them! BF and I found a lovely seating for 2.. or 18.. depends on how you angle the chairs! He had a couple of tasty beers, and I ponied up to the Bloody Mary seltzer. Yeah... you read that right! Have you had a Michelada... yep! That's the flavor profile. Now let's get to the good part: 10:15 on a Friday night on the patio. Amazing! Everybody is here! Why aren't you? Prada to Target... everything in between is hip!l and cool! Get here ! I can't believe this gorgeous spot has eluded me!!! We will be back!!

Yelp
They have an amazing place. I wasn't expecting this extraordinary ambiance at all.. I wouldn't have even know this place if it's not for pub pass. We were a group of 4 and enjoyed this place ambiance. They even have an outdoor seating and it was decorated so well. We would love to be back in summer to enjoy the outdoor seating. Once you enter the place you may not feel the place but once to take a turn you will be amazed and love it. They also have games on site to enjoy. They have limited beer and tasted good. I had a Pilsner and it was light and good. Bartender is good in explaining us the beers and helped us pick our beer. Overall this is an amazing place to keep visiting over again.

Yelp
This is THE hidden gem brewery of the Twin Cities. I've been here a handful of times, and we make the drive from Minnetonka to St. Paul just to visit this spot. Yes, you enter this spot through a minimally marked alleyway, and you'll probably ask yourself if you're in the right place a few times...but YOU ARE! Tucked inside an old industrial building, this brewery is as eccletic as it is mysterious. The main seating area boasts a "thrift shop chic" theme with repurposed tables, couches, and benches amidst enough exposed brick to make a millennial dream come true. But the real winner here are the...PLANTS! Plants everywhere! Sometimes it gives me overgrown, abandoned building vibes and othertimes what I imagine Professor Sprout's living room to look like. In the summer, they have an outdoor seating area that mimics the interior with more eclectic and abandoned outdoor furniture, repurposed into a one of a kind outdoor experience. Now I would come here for the atmosphere alone, the beer holds up! I've tried almost all of their non-IPA beers, and the big standout is their seasonal Pumpkin beer. Best Fall Beer in the Cities! It has become an annual tradition to pack up the board games and head to Saint Paul Brewing for a Fall weekend afternoon. Couldn't recommend enough and I hope that this place keeps getting the love, since it's a bit off the beaten path...it deserves it!!

Yelp
My wife and I were on our weekly "Try a new restaurant Saturday" and this week it was Saint Paul Brewing, across the river from us. We took the 30 minute drive to the old Hamm's plant. The bricks were everywhere and the place is just cool!. The bartender was a super nice lady and I ordered one of the house IPAs and theHabibi pizza, which was Lamb Kofta, Mozzarella, Feta, Parsley-Mint Salad, Tzatziki Sauce, Sumac and Ras el Hanout. My wife doesn't like cheese, so she ordered the Queen of Savoy without olive oil and cheese. My pizza had perfect hunks of lamb and not greasy at all. The flavors were just perfectly melded together. Really good pizza. The sauce on my wife's pizza was so good. Spicy, but not too spicy and the crusts were both awesome. Great food and service made for a great lunch.

Yelp
Summer time, patio time! And it is hard to find a more unique and lovely patio than the one here at St. Paul Brewing. The building has a storied history as the original Hamm's brewing, but after decades of neglect the building fell into disrepair. For those who love the neighborhood and the history it was wonderful to see Flat Earth (now St. Paul Brewing) move into the space. And the most recent owners, who also operate Can Can wonderland have really turned the space into an East side wonderland. With the warm weather, you can find flowers of every type blooming everywhere. The decor reflects a quirky artistic sensibility. And, yes, the beer is good too. Well worth a trip to the East Side of St. Paul.

Yelp
Quickly becoming one of my favorite St Paul breweries! It's in the old Hamm's Brewing building, and the patio is where there were apparently stables at the Hamm's complex, so the building is super interesting and has industrial charm. The beer is consistently top-notch; this time, I got the Session Ale and my husband got the Belgian Double-- both were incredibly good. Everyone around us was getting pizza, which looked and smelled incredible; I'm already planning for our return so we can try out the food.
