Saint Père - Review - 10th Arr. - Paris - The Infatuation
"There are loads of Ivorian, Haitian, and Senegalese fish and chicken joints along this stretch of rue de Strasbourg, but only one regularly has lines out the door. Saint Père, whose awning confusingly reads l’Espérance, is a go-to for poulet braisé,an Ivorian delicacy cooked over "braises" (a.k.a. coal). The meal deal here gets you a tender piece of chicken heavily seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper, and chile, and a copious portion of rice cooked in fatty, savory chicken juices. Level it up with some not-too-hot saucepiquante before washing it down with housemade ginger juice that hits the throat with pleasant heat and is sweet enough to double as dessert." - Emily Monaco
