Raleigh’s Oakwood Pizza Box Branches Out With a New Wine Bar          | Eater Carolinas

"From the team behind Oakwood Pizza Box comes a new wine shop and bar at Raleigh Iron Works, where the list leans toward smaller producers, Old World bottles, and other standout wines. Partner and sommelier Scott Hardiman (previously of the Umstead) says the aim is to spotlight under-the-radar winemakers and regions and to deliver a high-level wine experience in a casual setting—“a collection of the best up and coming winemakers, alongside legendary, benchmark producers, but enjoyed in jeans and a t-shirt, with caviar and chips and hip-hop playing in the background.” For food, celebrity chef Vivian Howard is stocking a Viv’s Fridge with ready-made snacks and hearty fare once the program launches, a collaboration framed by Anthony Guerra as “What would it look like if I brought the wine and Vivian brought the food… We’re not having dinner, but we’re having bites,” with Howard taking the lead on the menu." - Erin Perkins

I’ve been coming to St. Pierre every Monday for several weeks and have enjoyed getting to know the staff. It’s a welcome refreshing treat after rock climbing at TRC. I usually walk after my climb here. One of the owners, who is often behind the bar, is extremely knowledgeable. He really has a love for wine and sharing the flavors of wine with others. This love for wine is also shared by the staff. I actually do look forward to my time on Monday nights. You should check out this space. There are few wine shops that stay open as late as St. Pierre, cheers!

When you read financial news as much as I do, you can’t help but feel the wine industry is in a difficult place. People are drinking less overall, young people not interested in wine, etc. When you walk into St Pierre, you understand quickly that very little exists that could replace this level of hospitality and engagement, and you quickly write off any articles you’ve read as simply short-lived trends. Always start or end an evening at St Pierre.

The party magnet cheese ball was great with the crostini. Great seating outside to enjoy a glass of wine. They offer social district wine to go shop at the stores next door.

Kind folks, cute shop, no corkage fee (!), and great wine! We grabbed a bottle and sat outside, then got takeout pizza from Ponysaurus next door when we got hungry. Highly recommend!

Yelp
LOVE! I was visiting Raleigh for the weekend and so thankful I got to check this spot out. It's the perfect addition to Iron Works. Saint Pierre is a lovely wine bar to just sit and relax. It had a good crowd, but wasn't too crowded. You can either buy a bottle from their copious selection and drink it there (with no corkage fee) or go for their wines by the glass. I ended up going for the wine flight, which was a great way to try multiple wines. You can tell they definitely thoughtfully curate the wine menu. Right now they just had a few small bites like olives and nuts, but I know they are expanding the food menu soon. A lovely new spot to grab a glass of wine (or a bottle) and catch up with friends.
