Go to Saints for UK bowl game. I find my friends and sit down. I sit down and see some pitchers of beer and water and think, great! Just need a cup. No extra cup on the table so I wait for our waitress, Andie. After about 8 minutes or so, they were packed so no biggie, I ask "may I have a glass of water?" She does a half eye roll and points to the water pitcher and says "there is a pitcher". Well thank you captain obvious, so now I need a glass. She brings a full glass of water back over and says "sorry". Ok whatever. We proceed to see her for idk how long. The star I was forced to give will be awarded to the shots bc they were cold and came out timely. Half way through the second quarter I ordered food. A turkey sandwich and fries. When I asked her if I could order food, she acted as if I asked her to solve world peace. She walked off and asked if everybody was good, I mentioned it because it was the only time she asked as she walked by for the next hour without a word. It felt like I hurt her dog's feelings and I haven't even met her dog. I ask her at the end of halftime, can you check on my sandwich?. I ordered the sandwich when I did bc I was on a time crunch, flight. Thought I gave myself plenty of time, I was mistaken. I asked again with about 5-6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, she said "oh I thought that came out". She walked by us and didn't say anything several times. She saw I never got food. I also asked for my check while I'm waiting bc again time crunch. My tip options were 20%, 22%, 25%. I've been in the industry before so I get it. But people expect 20% as a minimum and I'm getting well below average service. Doesn't make sense. I still choose 20% instead of custom. Now a few more minutes passed and 3 minutes or so in the 3rd, I see her cleaning the table. Again I get it she has to clean but could she have came over to tell me it'll be out in just a minute? Like how hard is it to deliver a turkey sandwich and fries? I am now actually upset so I say my good byes and leave bc now I'm 5 minutes past the time I intended to leave. I walk past the past the lady cleaning the table. There is one additional table between where I was walking and the other table being cleaned so I said as I was walking, "I have to go now, I can no longer wait for the food". I started to press the back door open and she says "it'll be out in just a second". By that time I didn't want the food. So I proceeded to keep walking, and said "I ordered that an hour ago, I can't wait". Door closed. I did have to raise my voice a little as I was walking out. As a friendly reminder, we are at a bar with people and the football game sound on. I'll admit that, but I certainly didn't "yell at my server " as the wonderful manager Jamie described to my friends. I call Jamie so I can give her my perspective on things. She proceeded to cut me off at minimum 5 times. I'd pause to collect my thoughts and she would say "oh you are cutting out". I said to her, "no, you are just cutting me off nonstop give me a second". I am a pretty polite person in general and especially to industry workers bc I've spent so much time in it. I've never had anybody talk to me with such disrespect and no willingness to hear why I walked out of her establishment. I just wanted my chicken sandwich with French fries and ended up with crappy service and a manager who didn't take a breath for 5 minutes so she can proceed to tell me I was "yelling at my waitress" who was 20 ft away from me. If you want to accuse me of something, please let me come actually do it so you are justified in your completely disrespectful behavior in talking to another human let alone some who is trying to spend money at your establishment.
Full disclosure, once I realized Jamie wouldn't let me speak, I took her approach and didn't let her speak either. I won't act like this is one sided but if you want to make up things about a customer and tell the table he was with, make sure your story is straight.
