"Clarendon’s red-lit Japanese street foods spot showcases fresh hand rolls and sushi, yakitori, rice and noodle dishes, hot pot options, A5 wagyu from Japan, and more. All-you-can-eat deals at lunch ($29) and dinner ($45) lets patrons sample a big cross-section of the menu. The sceney bar slings great yuzu cocktails, too." - Missy Frederick

Google
Sakaki Izakaya in Arlington, VA, offers the best value and quality All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Japanese food at $49 per person (Gold Tier), including sushi, signature rolls, small bites, nigiri, and a varied menu featuring yakitori, hot pot (nabe), cast iron rice dishes with seafood, eel, and pork Kamameshi. The Diamond Tier includes all Silver and Gold Tier options plus premium choices, all served in a trendy setting with Japanese decor, a central bar, and good service. We enjoyed our lunch here, and the food was excellent—arguably the best AYCE Japanese restaurant in Northern Virginia. - Their signature rolls, like Mango Tango and Sea King, were freshly made and delicious. - Both eel and pork Kamameshi featured high-quality ingredients, generous portions of meat and fish, and rice kept warm over a warmer. - Yakitori offered a variety of excellent options. - The Shrimp Katsu Sando is a must-try standout—crispy perfection paired with juicy shrimp, making it a top-tier fried shrimp sandwich that elevates typical pub fare. - Their desserts were also excellent—rich, creamy, sweet, and a perfect ending to a fantastic Japanese meal. The homemade matcha ice cream, Biscoff cheesecake, and matcha tiramisu all stood out. Note: These desserts are not included in the all-you-can-eat menu.

Food: We went with the middle-tier Gold AYCE option, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything we tried tasted fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The quality was consistent throughout the meal, making the Gold tier feel well worth the price. Service: Ordering is done through a tablet, which was quick and convenient, but the service still felt very attentive. The staff regularly came by to check on us, refill drinks, and make sure we were enjoying everything. It was a great balance of efficiency and personal service. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, which made the dining experience even better. It was a relaxing environment where we could enjoy our meal comfortably without feeling rushed. Overall, Sakaki Izakaya delivered a wonderful experience.

I had great experience here! Food was delicious but sushi wasn’t the best quality but overall I satisfied. I recommend their desserts as well, It was yummy!

Google
Great atmosphere. Me and the wife stopped in after looking for a Japanese style restaurant and they were super friendly and courteous to us. Even after we were stuffed they didn't charge us for the unfinished sushi we were not able to complete. Drinks were amazing!!!!! Recommend to anyone who is looking for great food, drinks, and service. We will be back.

Google
Great AYCE place to stop into. They had a good set up with the tablet to order all the dishes in a timely manner which let the dishes keep coming. The sushi was great and oddly the mushroom yakitori was one of the highlights.

If you’re a sushi lover, this is the spot for you!! They have a la carte options but they also offer ayce lunch and dinner options. The quality of the fish offered was amazing not to mention all the other dishes such as appetizers and the noodle/rice dishes. All options are made to order so you will get the dishes made fresh. Appetizer wise, the softshell crab tempura was delicious, but I personally thought the buffalo sauce was not needed. I also really loved the aged tofu dish and the garlic cucumber. Specialty wise, I thought the seeking was memorable as well as the picante salmon. And their salmon was so buttery and so smooth as well as their chutoro! Those two are highly recommended as well as a yellowtail. My other personal favorite was a sweet shrimp so I highly highly recommend that if you’re a shrimp lover. I will say while I love Katsu don not sure if I would personally recommend it as I thought the flavors were a little too bland even with the Katsu sauce. And for a drink, I ordered the night in Nagasaki and it was so good. It reminded me of a perfectly right Clementine. Service wise it was EXCELLENT. We were there for a friend’s birthday so we were a large party of 16 but they did not skip a beat and they were serving us really quickly for the amount of food we ordered. It was very surprising. I will say the bar service was a little slow, but that was almost expected as they only had a few bartenders. While the restaurant is large and can accommodate larger parties, there is no dedicated parking so street parking is what you’re going to have to do. I did not check to see if they have valet.

Google
TLDR: Best all you can eat sushi deal in Arlington. Amazing quality fish, huge variety, and unbeatable value at $45. Perfect spot for big groups. If you’re looking for the ultimate sushi feast, Sakaki Izakaya is it. Their all you can eat menu is hands down the best deal in town at just $45 per person. I went on a Friday night for a birthday party with a group of 16, and we had an amazing time. Despite our large headcount, the staff handled everything amazingly. Friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. We went all in and literally tried everything on the menu. To start we ordered all 15 apps X3, followed by massive trays of 90 pieces of mixed nigiri to start, and then made our way through all the rice and noodle dishes. The quality of the fish was exceptional, especially for an all you can eat spot. Standouts were the yellowtail, chutoro, and otoro nigiri, plus the negi toro maki. The appetizers also impressed. Favorites included the karaage fried chicken, creamy clams, and shrimp katsu sando. Yakitori was a fun addition, as we ordered multiple rounds of all nine skewers, with the scallops and shrimp stealing the show. If I had to nitpick, a couple of the rice and noodle dishes were under seasoned, like the katsu don. But honestly, with 200+ pieces of sushi and 40+ other dishes demolished by our table, that minor detail didn’t take away from the experience. Overall, Sakaki is a sushi lover’s paradise. The food, value, and vibe make it a must visit for anyone in Arlington looking for a top tier endless sushi adventure.

Google
I did all you can eat dinner. The food was very good, the sushi was delicious and pretty great quality and flavor for the price! I highly recommend to try this place if you want to taste a variety of Japanese dishes! The service was great! Plenty of people came and went and cleared tables quickly and food came quickly as well. They do have a no excessive waste policy so make sure to be able to finish most of the food you ordered. The decorations were beautiful too!

Yelp
AYCE is definitely worth it. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday with a few friends and had an amazing time. The yakitori was delicious--standouts were the pork belly, beef outside skirt, and mushroom. My favorite nigiri were the chutoro, sweet shrimp, shrimp, and yellowtail. For small bites, the agedashi tofu, seaweed salad, and shrimp tempura were all excellent. Everything came out fresh and flavorful. Service was fast and friendly! Nice and elevated vibes. Would absolutely recommend!

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience at this place, but good gracious there are so many restrictions and limitations! My friend and I came for the all-you-can-eat izakaya lunch experience. There are tiers to the lunch experience: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The Silver comes with about five apps, another five sushi roll options, and a few other things. The Gold tier comes with all the Silver options plus some other premium extras, and the Platinum comes with everything the Silver and Gold tiers offer, plus some super premium options (like hot pot). My friend and I were good with the Silver tier because there were a lot of good offerings there, but we were informed that Silver is not available on Fridays...only Gold and Platinum. So we ordered the Gold option... because cause the Platinum offered waaaaay too many food options that we were just not going to be able to fully enjoy. We started to order cocktails when the server told us that during lunch there is no bartender, so we would only be able to purchase sake, soju, beer, or soft drinks. So much for the specialty cocktails I wanted to try. I tried to order a bottle of green grape soju, but they were out of stock so I settled for Sapporo on tap instead. We were able to order our lunch on a tablet at the table. The food items came out quickly but unfortunately we ran into another rule... The restaurant requires that you wait 10 minutes before ordering anything else. I guess it's to prevent food waste, but it basically just caused us to order everything at one time since you are only given 90 minutes for this dining experience. I ordered takoyaki, steamed clams in a creamy broth, tempura udon noodle soup, a mango sushi roll, karage, and steamed edamame. The takoyaki was good, but as much as I like dashi, there was just way too much on top. And the pieces of dashi were way too big. They really overpowered the flavor of the takoyaki. The edamame was steamed perfectly and salted nicely. The steamed clams were amazing! A generous portion of tender clams but omg... That broth! I used the udon noodles from the tempura udon soup to put in the clam broth. You've got to try that combination, it's amazing! I could have eaten just that and had a satisfying dining experience here. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not serve side orders of udon noodles, and the udon noodle dish that's offered for lunch contains pork, which I don't eat. However, the server figured out why we wanted plain udon and instead brought us another bowl of udon soup with a minimal amount of broth so that we could add it to the creamy clam broth. I appreciate him doing that! The tempura udon soup was okay on its own. I appreciate that it was a pork-free broth, but the piece of tempura shrimp served on the side was not good. It tasted like it was fried in old grease. The karage was nice and crunchy. The sushi roll had a nice flavor, and the crunch from the tempura added a nice texture. I also appreciate that this particular tempura did not taste like it was fried in old grease. Neither did the karage. My friend and I were torn between the limited but no less tempting dessert options. We each ordered two desserts which were--you guessed it--not included in the price. I ordered the matcha ice cream and the mochi, while she ordered the biscoff cheesecake and another dessert I can't remember. The matcha ice cream was rich, but the flavor of the matcha was not at all overpowering. Delicious! The mochi was also good. I believe the flavors were chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate chip. This place has really cool decor. The walls contain hand-painted asian-themed murals with cherry blossoms and tigers and dragons. The back wall going towards the bathrooms is plastered in cool manga wallpaper. The bathroom is also very clean and chicly designed. Tons of aesthetic appeal Overall it was a good dining experience, but there were just way too many restrictions limitations that really impacted my ability to fully enjoy the experience. As much as I enjoyed the food, I'm not sure if I'd be back.

Yelp
A stunning entrance and decor. Loved that chefs were cooking in the middle, made it an interesting focal point. Ordered the eel avocado sushi (4/5) and rainbow roll (4/5). Although taste-wise really good, I felt the price didn't quite match the portion or overall value. The miso soup was satisfying and met my expectations, although it was on the saltier side (4/5). The chicken karaage (4/5) was hot and crispy, deep fried chicken thigh pieces. Nothing to add here. I also tried the shrimp tempura udon soup. The soup itself was very flavorful and balanced, but the shrimp tempura was slightly dry. While it was enjoyable, I'm not sure the dish stood out and tasted similar to some pre-packaged udon noodles I've had (3/5). My partner had the eel donburi, reporting delicious in flavor but a little overpriced and could have had more rice (3/5). Overall, the food was well done and great flavorwise. Next time, I'd opt for the AYCE option rather than à la carte. A solid experience still overall and service was excellent and professional.

Yelp
The ambiance here is so nice, there's anime on the walls, lovely draped curtains and very sexy lighting. I will say that this was the best karage I've ever had! Juicy, seasoned and filling. Our server Angie was also a great part of the experience, we sat at the bar and she was very informative. Since we stopped in late night, I'd love to come in on weeknight and enjoy more of the menu.

Yelp
What a pleasure to dining in this izakaya restaurant! I will totally recommend to be seat by the sushi bar. My wife and I went there for AYCE in the weekend for dinner. We ordered sushi rolls, nigiri, eel rice dish, appetizers and yakitori. We were first being satisfied by the appetizers which is a great start. Then the Eel Kamameshi arrived. The Eel is well marinated with just right amount of rice, it will not take up all my stomach but enough to balance the Eel fat. Finally, all items from the sushi bar are amazing. Have to mention, the Wagyu Uni and Salmon were so good. The benefit to sit by the sushi bar is you get to enjoy watching the chefs making these art pieces in front of you. We will be there again. Next time we will try the items from the ordinary menu. Honestly, if they will do omakase, I would love to try it out. I wish they will.

Yelp
Solid sushi and drink spot. Cool ambiance as well for friends or date night. Next time I want to try the all you an eat sushi which seems like a deal. Everything was solid.

Yelp
I came here for the lunch ($29) AYCE. Overall, I thought the experience was good. The service was great and the ease of ordering made the experience enjoyable. The waiter was always around to take away the empty plates and to refill the water. The BBQ items were delicious. The porky belly, chicken thigh, and chicken with leeks were super tasty. The nigiri sushi were also pretty good. I tried close to everything in the nigiri selection. The salmon, tuna, eel, mackerel, shrimp, and yellowtail were fresh and delectable. Now I do have a minor gripe. I know it's AYCE and that the rice is used to fill up the customers and to save cost. But the rice under the nigiri pieces were, understandably, wider and denser than you'd expect. The pieces of fish on top of the rice are just slightly thinner than usual and slightly (almost) not covering the rice. But overall, $29 pre tax, $38 post tax and tip is reasonable for a quality sushi lunch AYCE.
google avatar

Mila F.

Yelp
I can't recall what the name of my tuna roll was, but I did not really like the spicy green seasoning that was on top. The eel rice bowl was delicious and so was the Nigiri! Service was good although a little slow on the day we went in and the ambience is clean and roomy. This was my second time here, and they are becoming one of my favorite sushi restaurants just based on the fact that their dishes come out hot and delicious. Hot food should be expected with fresh served food but every so often I go to a sushi restaurant that takes so long to bring things out they lose the temperature from the stove to customer. Sakaki consistently delivers on this!

Yelp
This is the second time I been to this place. First time was when they has soft opening. The food was good then. Come back this time to try their AYCE sushi options. Lunch menu is smaller options and $29 per person. Corn Fritters was ehh, nothing special, cans corn in middle with some cheese? Their Seaweed salad has some citrus favor and it was a nice surprise. Shoyu Ramen actually taste really good, smoky, well seasoning and not too salty. The portion is smaller but they didn't skim on the protein and it was really nice to see. I got some pork belly, chicken thighs and shishito peppers and they all taste great. Yaki udon was ok, portion is kinda big for AYCE so make sure you don't go too crazy on the oder. LOVE LOVE their Cast Iron Rice- I ordered grilled Eel- so so good, come with 2 big piece of eel and I was in love. Rice portion is half of the regular order but still very fulfilling.

Yelp
We picked this place because we needed something that was open a bit later. We hadn't eaten all day so went a bit crazy with 3 rolls, gyoza, chicken karaage, and yaki udon. Everything was really good and service was quick. We ordered wayyy too much food but glad we tried a few different things.

Yelp
Came back here for a friend's birthday and was not disappointed with the all-you-eat-option! I enjoyed a lot of their yakitori and nigiri options and I thought overall it was good - but the $45 price was a little too steep for the offerings in my opinion. I would definitely recommend a try though - I feel like most people would enjoy it :) Service was my favorite part of the night, Isaiah was the best -- he was very attentive and responsive to our orders especially serving a large party. Ambiance was great, large dining area, dim lights, great for a special night.

Yelp
Amazing place that I am so glad to have found on my quest for all you can eat sushi. My wife and I went before seeing a Taylor Swift cover band at the Renegade and shared Sushi, Brussels Sprouts, Corn Fritters, Sushi, and Yakitori, as well as two mocktails and two cocktails. We felt like we didn't eat much but actually saved a good amount with all you can eat. It costs a bit more than many other all you can eat sushi places as it is higher quality sushi, more upscale, and has more unique appetizers and other menu items you cannot easily find in the area. The cocktails and mocktails are top notch as well. I would best consider this place a Japanese version of Ambar. So glad to have found this place along with others while going through a reduction in force as all you can eat sushi has been a comfort food saver during hard times. The ambiance is very nice and a blend of modern and traditional and our waitress was amazing. We made a reservation although there were some empty tables that night. I would recommend letting the waiter or waitress know of any food allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions as there are a lot of items that are not typical and it is easy to mishear. What we thought was chicken thigh yakitori ended up being pork once I got the receipt. My wife's digestive system did not react to well to that, but we still loved our dinner and consider it our fault for not notifying our waitress. Overall, this and Kanji in Springfield are our two favorite all you can eat sushi places with Kanji better if you just want sushi and a fun innovative atmosphere with conveyer belts and bullet trains and here better if you want other Japanese foods that are hard to find in the area on top of some high quality sushi. Next up we will try Toryumon (DC and Arlington) that we loved Al a carte during happy hour in DC before they added the all you can eat menu. We certainly look forward to returning here and sharing authentic diverse Japanese all you can eat dining experiences in the future with friends and family.

Yelp
Better quality compared to other sushi places I've been to. Great selection of varieties including hot foods. Once you put the order in, the food comes out quickly. The peppers on the skewer are spicy! The shrimp skewer is tough- that was probably my least favorite item. Everything else was good.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
Came in summer time. I don't know if they had AC or not but we were sweating bullocks the entire time. Which made the experience unpleasant. Food was mediocre at best. Service was horrible even though there was barely any diners. Eel hot dish took almost 40 mins to come out. First order of sushi was good. Then everyone after that was completely different, lower quality, especially the chutoro. They did a bait n switch. Would not come back.
google avatar

Catherine S.

Yelp
My default for sushi in Arlington. Their all-you-can-eat sushi has the option for nigiri, rolls, and a variety of appetizers. Their sushi is very fresh and even have the option of chutoro. Also love the eel kamemeshi, karaage, shrimp sando, and seaweed salad. I've been coming here at least one every couple weeks and the food quality is always excellent. They have multiple specialty cocktails with Asian-inspired flavors and draft beer. I'm not a beer person and never had Saporro draft before but it was so refreshing with the food.

Yelp
Thrilled that there's a fun, tasty Japanese spot right in Clarendon. Menu is super varied, but not overwhelming. The Sakura Smoke cocktail features a bubble on top they make upon service and was delicious. Wagyu fried rice was a treat. I believe it included truffle, which I sometimes avoid in US restaurants but added a nice contrast to the beef. Noticed they featured a late-night menu too, which is also much needed in the Ballston-Rosslyn corridor! Can't wait to make this another go-to for us in the area.

Yelp
Saw a movie at the regal near by, was craving sushi and found this place on yelp. Im rating the drinks & food 2 stars. The ambiance, friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the bathroom would be a 6/10. Aesthetically this place is beautifully decorated. From the rich reds that coat the restaurant to the architecture it's a pleasing place to dine. I opted for the bar because I only needed one roll and figured I'd get a drink as well. I had: Ai Asagao - 2/10 - this drink sounded and looked amazing (tequila, Campari, Yuzu, lemon, honey, simple syrup) but it tasted like soap. I would not order it again. Mango Tango roll - 2/10 - soft shell crab tempura, mango, topped with spicy tuna, passion fruit and eel sauce. This roll was such a disappointment because it barely had any shrimp tempura in it. For a roll of this cost one would expect it to be at least half and half but there was less than 25% in each roll. Also the spicy tuna on top was inedible to me because it had no texture, it was just mush. More tempura in the roll would've balanced it out a bit but it got to the point where I was scraping the tuna off the remaining roll just to get through it. Besides that I had to continuously swat drain flies away as I ate.

Yelp
Do not come here for ayce dinner. All their sushi sucked and was not worth the price at all. They gave us the saddest pieces of tuna and tried to pass it off as "chutoro". As if I've never had chutoro before?? And their nigiri is loaded with so much rice topped with the thinnest piece of fish. Their yakitori also was extremely disappointing. The mushroom one was the only okay one, because it was juicy. The shrimp was so dry I could hardly swallow it. Scallop was okay, lacking in flavor and still quite dry. Their other cooked dishes were slightly better. All I can recommend is the nabe and kamameshi. But still, not worth the price for ayce. I paid $61 after tax+tip. They are very strict on their 90 min time limit and eating every grain of rice. Even the rice bowl that is the kamameshi, you have to finish all the rice or they'll charge you. So we had no choice but to stuff ourselves with the leftover rice at the end. Will never return.

Yelp
We went here on a fri night and good thing we had a reservation because it was pretty busy! The vibes and the service are both great. Most of the food is decent, albeit expensive. The portions are generally small but makes sense because it's an izakaya. None of the food really blew me away, and we had a wide variety of food. However, the drinks were all so good!!!!! We got Kiss Me in Kyoto, Shirahama Summer, Night in Nagasaki, and Lychee Lover. All 4 were the perfect balance is refreshing and sweetness. Don't be fooled by the taste - you might feel the alcohol faster than you taste it. Overall, I would go back for the drinks and the vibes but not the food.

Yelp
Tips 1) Had the Yakiimo - 1st time was awesome; 2nd time had to send it back. I believe they tried to play me: make sure the sweet potato is soft. 2) parking is usually a pain, but there is a street just past the restaurant... its easy to miss - Turn there 3) They have an AYCE menu that has sushi on it; limited options but

Yelp
By far, the best Sushi we've had in the DMV. Everything was fresh and delicious. Yakitori were good. The shoyu fries, the soft-shell crab, the sando, the karaaage, the fried rice, the drinks, the sushi was fresh and delicious. Everything was soo good we forgot to take more pictures 'coz we were just enjoying everything
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
We tried this for the first time and since the menu was so overwhelming, decided to elect the AYCE at $45 a person. The host desk made it seem like the restaurant was packed and no tables were available, though we ended up being seated at one and there were empty tables around us all night. At first, the food seemed good, until we realized all the yakitori were seasoned exactly the same. The cucumber salad lacked flavor generally. The nigiri was okay but nothing special - all different shapes and sizes too. The kamameshi was good and probably the best thing on the menu. Vibe got better as the night went on (music came on) but overall a very average experience.

Yelp
For Valentine's Day, I was looking for a last-minute reservation and found Sakaki Izakaya in Arlington with an opening at 5 PM. As we approached, I grabbed the first available street parking nearby since my wife was wearing heels. To my delight, the entrance was decorated with red lanterns for a great photo opportunity of the wife. We were seated near the bar at a romantically lit table and were offered the happy hour menu. I took advantage of the drink specials while we opted for the all-you-can-eat option. The catch, something I actually agree with, excess waste incurs a 20% fee, which encourages mindful ordering. The experience starts with a selection from a limited menu of appetizers , (yakitori, rolls, or nigiri), signature rolls, and rice/noodle dishes. After that, you can order freely, making for a controlled yet fun dining experience. The music was great, and we had two attentive servers who were very helpful. A special touch, my wife was presented with a rose for Valentine's Day, which made the evening even more memorable. The food and overall experience were excellent

Yelp
This is the best AYCE sushi in the DMV. Hands down. No competition tbh. Sure it's pricier, but the menu is quite extensive and it has a lot of high quality stuff. And for people who don't like sushi, there's tons of other menu items on there too. I'd say that you can get something for everyone if you go. You can make a reservation in advance, and it seems like lunch pricing is cheaper on weekdays. Overall service has been fast every time and easy to order. Check this place out!!!

Yelp
I went to Sakaki Izakaya for their AYCE lunch menu and was so impressed. Every dish came out quickly and was beautifully presented. I loved the variety of plates & dish-ware. The food was a la carte quality & all the appetizers and sushi were super fresh, and I honestly don't think you would be able to tell it was AYCE if no one told you. Probably the best quality nigiri I've had from an AYCE spot. The rice was a bit heavy, but that's pretty normal for AYand it was seasoned and cooked perfectly so I didn't mind. The interior was beautiful and decorated really fun for Halloween. Our server was kind, quick, and attentive. Loved everything about my meal and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Absolutely loveee the ambiance and our server Daniel! He was fun and on top of all of our orders. We came here for our friend's birthday and had a great time. The food was pretty good overall. My favorites were the king salmon foie gras and eel foie gras but let's be honest.. I'm just a sucker for foie gras Would definitely come back again for the vibes and staff alone!

Yelp
Everything we had here was delicious! We came for the all you can eat menu and ordered several dishes to share. We tried Corn Fritters, Tempura Set, Chicken Karaage, Garlic Cucumber, Ebi & Momo yakitori, Tuna & Salmon nigiri, Rainbow, Sea King, & Crazy Dragon rolls, Spicy Tori hot pot dish, and Shrimp Tempura Udon. Not sure why, but they were only offering the $45 dinner menu during our lunch but it's so worth it. We didn't think we had excess leftovers at all (seriously just a few random bites and even our server said he wouldn't have charged us) but apparently the female manager thought it was excess and charged us on our bill. Besides that, service was great. The inside is pretty large and decorated beautifully. They have a big bar in the middle right as you walk in with nicer dining on the right and casual dining with high tops on the left. It seems there's been some bartender issues and they couldn't offer cocktails given they had no bartender onsite. They could only offer wine, beer, and sake from their drink menu. We did try a couple different bottles of their sakes which were really good. We both really enjoyed dining here and getting to try several items. The dishes were prepared relatively quickly and everything was flavorful and tasty. Definitely a great all you can eat with a ton of options to choose from!

Yelp
Food Service Ambiance Not my choice for sushi as it tasted more fishy that what I would like. However, the beef fried rice and the drinks were delicious Service was ok, nothing special or out of the ordinary. The ambiance was really cute and instagrammable.

Yelp
Came here for the all you can eat dinner and everything was pretty good! We ordered a few signature rolls and a lot of the nigiri. My favorite was the yellowtail but salmon and tuna were also very good. The order comes out 10-20minutes after so if you're with a group, make sure to place your order early so you can get everything you want in the time limit. Service was quick as well!

Yelp
Wow this spot is DELICIOUS! Every bite was so satisfying and made me want to try all the appetizers on the menu! I chose the 'all you can eat' option on the menu. (It is not the only option, you can order items from a regular menu) Hotatekai (Scallop) and Butabara (Pork belly) were my favorites. The decorations along the walls and ceiling were very interesting and pleasing to the eye. Unforgettable picture in my mind for sure! The servers were kind snd made sure order's came out correctly and fixed any mistakes right away. Thank you to the hostess that nice who greeted me so kindly with a big smile. Wonderful spot!

Yelp
This is a pretty cool looking restaurant. A great place to bring a first date. My wife and I visited at 5:30 on a Thursday and beat the dinner rush. The wait staff was phenomenal. Filled my water up 10 or so times, pre-bussed the table regularly. Checked in but weren't over-bearing. This stuff isn't too important to me, but it was really nice. The food was great. I got some unusual stuff. The Salmon Nigiri was some of the freshest I've had, the Sea Urchin Nigiri was the best I've had. Everything was really good. Very well ran establishment.

Yelp
We had the all you can eat lunch and every single thing we had was good. Very tasty and the portions were small so you can keep ordering and ordering. I would definitely come back for all you can eat lunch again when in the area. My favorites were the pork belly yakitori and the beef garlic fried rice!

Yelp
Thought this was good overall. Kind of wish I had gotten the ramen tho. Sushi was fine, not best or worst I've had. I did like the cocktail. Overall, a bit overpriced imo.

Yelp
Delish sushi and wonderful service. Awesome Saki options and super fun interiors. A bit limited for gluten free dairy free folks but they really try to help you figure it out ! We'd definitely go back again and felt everything was clean, flavorful, and plentiful.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this restaurant - relaxed and a great casual date spot. All the food was tasty and the service was attentive. The OG lobster roll was a standout and I would come back for it! Plenty of huge chunks of lobster made this roll a great value for $22. While we didn't drink, the cocktail menu looked good too

Yelp
Delicious spot for sushi. Very high quality fish. Aesthetics in the restaurant are top notch. This is a great spot for a dinner date or for celebrating a birthday. I had the all you can eat dinner for $45 a person which isn't bad considering the amount of options you can get. Food came out really fast. Must try the beef fried rice and fresh nigiri.

Yelp
10/10 across the board!!! My gf and I decided to check out this place for a girls night out, and it was perfect! There are several parking garages in the area (I believe the closest one would require a 3-4 min walk to the restaurant), but I found street parking to be pretty available also! You walk in, and the decor is wonderful - upscale without the stuffiness that fine dining sometimes can have. We started off with drinks, which were yummy! Our appetizer were tuna rolls, and then for the entree I got myself this shrimp ramen dish. Let me just say: I'm someone who doesn't like the taste of ramen at restaurants (something with the aftertaste), but the ramen here?!? I was shocked, like maybe I've just been trying bad ramen LOL I tried eel for the first time and it was so delicious too! Reminds me of salmon but chewier?! And then let's talk about our fantastic waiter Mike. He went over and beyond for my friend and I. My friend has a MSG allergy and Mike TRULY went over and beyond to go over the menu with her to discuss the different options, and was back and forth to the kitchen to check in with the chef about what had MSG and what didn't. Seriously, he really took care of my friend in that way, and I'm so grateful for that. When we left, my friend had even left her ring in the booth that we were sitting at by accident and one of the other waiters chased us down to give it to her. Like there's customer service and then there's going over and BEYOND. I loved it here, hands down. Would come again, and again, and again lols.

Yelp
This place is located near the Clarendon metro. They don't have parking, you have to find street parking nearby. I like the decor. It gives modern Japan and love the Naruto wallpaper in the bathroom. The service was quick. BUT their food was mid for how expensive it is. I got the Cream croquettes & ikageso karaage the croquette was really creamy in the inside. And the karaage was crispy but soggy at the same time. The Yakitori was pretty tender. I recommend looking elsewhere to eat tbh.

Yelp
First time dining here. I had a light lunch, so I only got to try the grilled edamame, a special spicy tuna roll and a special spicy salmon roll.

Yelp
Brandon the Bartender was the one who attended to me tonight. Food was delicious and service top notch. While it wasn't as full as I hoped it did give room for some of the staff to introduce themselves to me such as Alex and Danielle. I'm a huge fan of Calpico and the Calpico Cooler is exactly what I'm looking for. I enjoy seeing different things on the menu like the Treasure Box. I had the Shrimp Katsu Sandwich, Eel Tango, (Sorry not pictured because it was gone in one bite) and I also had the Raspberry Rizz. Definitely would recommend - unfortunately it's not exactly on the Clarendon strip and many people who are walking it don't go far enough to see the place, it's worth the detour. They get hospitality!!!

Yelp
Definitely the worst restaurant I've been to in a recent memory. I stumbled upon this restaurant on Instagram and then looked it up on Yelp and it seemed to be very popular; the food also *looked* good in pictures. I realized that they offer an unlimited lunch menu and an unlimited dinner menu so I thought what better way to give this new (to me) restaurant a shot. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted me and my brother and let us know that the unlimited dinner menu had a hard 90 minute limit and that the 90 minute limit would start as soon as we were seated. We were seated and we placed an order for a few items immediately. Despite the fact that the menu is unlimited and there is a 90 minute time limit, service was extremely slow. Every time we place an order, there was at least a 10 to 15 minute waiting time before any items were delivered to our table. The long weight periods between dishes, continued for the duration of our time here. Aside from the very slow service, the food was subpar at best. All of the nigiri were very small and the quality of fish was questionable. As far as the specialty rolls, there was not a lot of variety, and most of them had either a tempura element or a spicy mayo element, which only serves to hide the flavor of the rice and the fish. One roll we ordered was literally covered in spicy mayo, which was very hard to eat around as the flavor of the sushi was drowned. In addition to sushi rolls and nigiri, we ordered a few hot dishes, and none of them stood out. And when I say "none of them stood out," I mean that NONE of them were actually good. All of the grilled skewer dishes involved very small pieces of seafood that were overcooked. We also ordered a cast-iron rice dish that was quite flavorless. The tempura was also a let down as the tempura dipping sauce lacked the usual flavor that one would expect from tempura dipping sauce. Truth be told, I enjoyed nothing about my experience and I am pissed that I paid $45 per person for what amounted to mall-quality Japanese food. TL;DR: NOT good Japanese food-- not even close. Slow service. Save your money.

Yelp
I came here on a first date and the ambiance was pretty fun and lively for a Friday night. Our waitstaff was friendly, and we ordered a specialty salmon roll and tuna roll. I'm almost positive they didn't bring the correct salmon roll because it was very basic, but my date didn't say anything and instead tried to take my roll until I suggested we split the rollsI thought they were both pretty decent sushi for the area. I'll likely return to try more of their sushi.

Yelp
We came during Valentine's weekend and had the buffet style for $45 per person. I loved this concept because sushi can tend to get pretty expensive. I'm not sure if we ate enough for $45 per person, but it def feels worth. We really enjoyed the skewers and nigiri. The brussel sprouts were unexpectedly very salty, which is difficult since they only take away plates that are completely finished and may charge for leftovers but the food comes so slow that I lose my appetite between the rounds. My favorite thing was the biscotti cheesecake. I was so full but still loved that so much. The restaurant vibes are private yet fun with the colorful/dark decor.

Yelp
Tried this spot on a random Friday night because we were craving sushi and yakitori. We quickly learned they had an AYCE option, which instantly raised red flags in my head, but given that most of what we wanted was on the AYCE menu, we decided to try it. The waitress admitted the servings were a little smaller but we could order as much as we wanted as long as we didn't waste and it was within 90mins -- typical rules and glad she was clear up front. We started with the shrimp buns, dumplings, fries -- all of which were surprisingly really good! Then ended up getting beef fried rice, a couple specialty sushi rolls, and yakitori. The beef fried rice was standard, good but nothing to write home about. The sushi was good, but some of our end pieces had very little seafood, which would have been worse if it wasn't AYCE. The yakitori was standard and satisfied my craving; wasn't the best or most memorable I've ever had but the meat was tender and flavorful and exactly what you'd expect. Service was good but a little slow at times. Drinks were ok. I would probably come back for AYCE if I was really hungry or with some guy friends, because it's a pretty good deal at $45 and a huge variety.

Yelp
Came here as a duo on a random weekday night for happy hour. Interior design is pretty cool which is given for a new restaurant in the area. Overall service was pretty fast and we were seated at the bar. If you've ever been Genki Izakaya in Fairfax, this belongs to the same restaurant group and you can tell from the menu. We got a few appetizers to share and overall it was... fine? Like no complaints a little the food but nothing too special. Overall I think flavor was better at Genki but can settle for a pinch if you're in the area. Prices are a bit pricier too. Overall no complaints about the place but probably not my first choice.

Yelp
A couple of friends and I have dined here and we've ordered $45 dinner all you can eat meals. When the bill came, we've been charged and blamed for excessive food waste, and when questioning what kind of food waste we've produced since we ate everything, the server was unable to answer the question. The manager came and tackled a mandatory 20% service fee without our consent. There is no policy stating that any party less than 6 are tackled with a mandatory fee, and we've tried to communicate. The final bill without those ridiculous charges is hundreds of dollars less. In terms of the food, they are too salty and the service to bring our food out is slow. We've tried flagging that to our server when we haven't received our food for at least thirty minutes, but the server kept saying it's on the way. I think we all left a little unhappy despite finishing our salty hot pot dish and beef fried rice. Service and food is 4/10, I guess to the server that tried to communicate to get our food out on time and deduct those ridiculous charges, but the manager is just plain rude and doesn't solve our problems.

Yelp
I came here for a friend's birthday on a weekday. The ambiance is upbeat with cute decor - definitely instagram worthy. We all ordered various cocktails to start. My favorite was the Calpico Collins. The Sakura Smoke was a tad sweet, but definitely tastes like lychee juice, which helps. Of the appetizers we ordered, the buffalo soft shell crab was the best. The sauce it came with was salty to taste but eaten with the soft shell crab it was perfect. The croquettes were good flavors but too mushy inside for my preference. Guess we should've paid attention to the "cream" description! Our least favorite was the shrimp katsu sandwich of the three appetizers. For my entree, I had the yuzu scallop, king salmon foie gras and the wagyu uni sandwich. The salmon foie gras and yuzu scallop I'd order again. I'd skip the wagyu only because one piece was good, one piece was ok. But worth a try! Overall it was great experience. Daniel was our waiter and he was really responsive, friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this spot for some good eats and vibes for a fun meal with friends.
