Sakana Bar Ippo Ebisu

Even though the autumn fish is sold out, every pieces of Sashimi were delicious and fresh!! I should have had the 5 assortment... Very good recommendation for sake Highly-skilled chef and friendly staff, and he came visit HK last week! Enjoyed the night snack so much with my friend from Taiwan, we both want to stay longer but he has an early flight I will definitely be back :))))

I really enjoyed this place. I have been staying in Ebisu for almost a month and walked by this place a few times. I do not drink alcohol so I haven't gone to many izakayas but I am still on US time even after a few weeks so I was awake. It was a little late and I was a little hungry so I thought I'd try some sashimi. I ended up ordering the 5 kinds of sashimi. I thought it might be too much as I wasn't very hungry but the fish was so delicious that I ate it all. The scallops were my favorite. No wasabi or soy. Just the freshness of the scallops was perfect. I saved one piece of scallop to eat at the end so it would be the last taste that I could savor 😅 It would be nice to come again. Everyone was also very friendly.

The best! Cold beer and sake. For food, can do chef choice course ($25 USD for five courses) or a la carte sashimi, broiled fish, fried fish, steamed fish. Something for everyone here - can’t recommend enough. Can probably walk in on weeknights, best to reserve though.

Great fun. Seafood izakaya. Lager draft beer would be better than pale ale IMO.

Absolutely great fish, with great sake. Person behind the counter speaks English well and is extremely friendly and helpful with selecting sake choices. Get the set if you're hungry for a big meal. If you like fish, you won't be disappointed!

Nice place for sushi. It has character and some sense of legacy. You can get some quiter tables beyond the bar.

My favorite Japanese izakaya restaurant at the east side of Ebisu station where charming local restaurants located together. Always serves various sake widely selected from all over Japan and fresh seafoods. Worth visit when you visit near hear. Good for both a group and an individual.

Cute little place. The staff are lovely and helpful. Excellent selection of seafood cooked in different ways. All of them delicious!

Perfect restaurant for tasting Sake. I meet here with an old friend from Los Angeles. We tried close to 10 different regions of sake and the food is out of this planet fresh and good.

There's a lot to like about Sakana Bar Ippo, from the long counter allowing you to watch the chef at work to the friendly service and the great food. The restaurant is on the second floor of a non-descript building on a side street in Ebisu, up a narrow and steep set of stairs. Inside, the ideal seating is along the long bar where you can interact with the chef. There's a few small tables, including one in the corner where you sit on little pillows with your shoes off at a small table. When we went we only tried a few items - sashimi, grilled fish of the day, rice with some sort of little fish in it, salad with sashimi. All of it was very good. The sake list is quite extensive. We don't know much about sake but the staff was more than willing to help us out and make some suggestions.
