Food: Delicious. I was very pleased with the quality and taste of my order. I was hangry and nervous to try something new and it did not disappoint.
I ordered the Baked Lobster Roll, Kimchi Chike and Ginseng sake. My order came to about $40 pretip.
Baked lobster - was standard (not in a bad way). I added an order of bomb sauce to add some kick to my roll and I'm so glad I did. The bomb sauce is noms. I would come back just for that alone.
Kimchi Chike - my first time having Kimchi Chike, it's basically a spicy soup with kimchi and pork (more on this later). The spicy level was satisfying (of course this is objective. I'd say I have a medium level of tolerance for spice. If you have low level, this may be too spicy, if you have a high level of tolerance for spice, this may seem like low spice to you). For me, it opened my pores though I did not sweat.
Ginseng sake - also my first time ordering Not bad on flavor, light, very smooth, no atrocious after taste (again, subjective). The ginseng is 1 of the flight of 5. (Blueberry, Ginseng, Pineapple, Cherry, and Sangria). I wanted to try the Pineapple, which is also the most popular choice according to server Danny, but I could not try due to an allergy. Would be interested in trying other flavors before ordering the Ginseng again.
Ambiance - it is a small place, quaint, decorated with cute Japanese and Korean decor. It has about 11 tables with about 6 small booths. It looks like they may have had more seating options Pre-COVID. I took the best pics that I could without being a creeper to the others who were also dinning in. The temperature was nice and toasty (the sake could have also aided in this ). The tables were set up to be used in a COVID appropriate setting (every other table). The music was on the chill side. During most of my lunch they were playing Kem and as a fan of Neo Soul I greatly appreciated this. The T.V. behind the bar had on a hilarious game show with subtitles which was also enjoyable. Check it out if you've never seen a Japanese or Korean game show. No wifi (that I could see on my laptop, and I didn't bother asking).
Customer Service - only one server so a tad bit slow (in comparison to what Americans like...yes, I am American ), but I was in no rush and had no place to go and did not mind. My food came out in a decent amount of time for me and what I ordered. Danny was very nice and accommodating. The initial table he sat me at was next to the wine cooler and a little rocky so I requested to move and he allowed me to choose my new table, no problem. Keep in mind this is on a slow Sunday afternoon with not many other diners. My Kimchi Chike was supposed to have pork in it and when I inquired about it, Danny checked into it and offered to remake the dish. I opted for them to add the pork in instead. When the pork was ready, he offered to take my bowl to add the pork and then rewarm my meal. By that time I had continued to eat and was full so I had him wrap it up. Instead of wrapping up my old rice, he gave me a fresh one and apologized a few times. He was very polite.
Overall would recommend and would come again. Their menu is pretty sizable with the Japanese and Korean options so there's so much more to try!
