They offer some delicious kebab paratha and don’t forget to ask for the ‘food of the day’. On Monday I tried Bater(quail )Musallam , and it tasted good. Definitely recommend this place if you’re nearby or getting you car fixed in lalbagh area.

The food is good ,prices are nominal but the only thing this place lacks is ambience which can be improved. My Recommendations- 1. Kakori Kebab 2. Mutton Biryani

Sakhawat Restaurant, located near Oudh Gymkhana Club in Kaiserbagh, Lucknow, is a hidden gem that every foodie must explore. Tucked away in a narrow lane, it may be a bit tricky to find—but trust me, it’s worth the effort. Taking an e-rickshaw or cab is a good idea. This no-frills eatery offers authentic Awadhi flavours, and the shammi kebab with paratha or roomali roti is simply mind-blowing. The boti kebab and mutton chops are also must-tries for meat lovers. Seating is basic and hygiene may not suit everyone, but if you’re here for the taste, this place will not disappoint. A true culinary experience of Lucknow, perfect for those chasing real flavours over fancy settings.

Overhyped! Ordered Shami Kebab and seekh kebab as started with mughlai parathas, followed by Chiken kali mirch and mutton khada masala half each, minimal quantity was provided with almost no proper piece of meat... And hygiene was not acceptable at all... We ordered desi murg biryani later and that too was average, I ate similar standard at an ordinary restaurant. I don't see how people just follow the trail and go berserk... Importantly! They didn't provide any bill, I suppose they don't pay their taxes and everything hence are not expanding (opening new branches). I went with high hopes and those are shattered once and for all...

Good hidden spot for mutton kebabs, around 15 minutes walk from Hazratganj, google location is accurate. Mutton Gulawati kebabs are usually not available after 8pm.

Sakhawat restaurant is a well known restaurant recognised as a Heritage restaurant in Lucknow, they claimed themselves a heritage restaurant. I went there with a lot of expectations after seeing so many videos on YouTube and blogs on social media platforms, but literally this place disappointed me a lot. First of all it was opened late I went around 2 pm but the restaurant opened after 3 pm and the main dish which wanted to taste Kakori kebab was not ready. They told me to try their Friday only speciality Desi Chicken Biryani, for me it was not worth it. Very subtle taste with no flavours at all after that I tried their Shami Kebabs which were also just Okay okay type not good not bad. When I completed my meal they told me that Kakori kebabs are now ready so I tried that also and to my surprise that was the most disappointing dish of the day. There was no flavour and a very weird taste I don't know what the issue was but very tasteless preparation. Lalla Biryani at chowk have much better Biryani and Shami kebabs then this Heritage restaurant. It was totally waste of money and time for me.

Come for the kebabs, skip the mains. The Shami kebabs are the best I've ever eaten, and the Galawati and Kakori are great, too. Sadly, the experience went downhill after that—the Bater Musallam was average, and both the Chicken Kali Mirch and Biryani were major disappointments.

Undoubtly the taste and variety is unparalleled when it comes to their menu. Daywise menu is just great for non veg lovers. Bhuna gosht 4/5 Methi kaleji 5/5 Fish kebab 5/5
