We came here for a family birthday celebration because that's what the birthday person chose lol. We were a party of seven, and it was fairly busy for a Tuesday night.
FOOD:
The menu is pretty straightforward. You order your entrée, and you can get a single protein or a combination of proteins. Choices include chicken, beef, tofu, shrimp, or salmon. Everything comes with an appetizer choice of mushrooms or chicken livers, and then you have a choice of steamed white rice or fried rice, and your meal is also accompanied by a miso soup and a salad with a ginger dressing. You are also given two different sauces to dip your food in, should you so desire: one is a ginger sauce, and the other is a special sauce - that's what they call it - and I'm not really sure what's in it, but it's kind of like an Asian inspired thousand island sauce is the best way to describe it.
SERVICE:
Our server, Rose, was the bees' knees!!! Our chef was great too & I don't know his name, but he was a little less lively than others, but I think that's because we were a bunch of adults only lol.
AMBIANCE:
All in all, everything was great, and our party enjoyed their meals. I personally thought everything kind of tasted the same.
Not a place I would frequent, and it is kind of expensive, but you do get a lot for what you pay for, and it is definitely a fun place to go to for a celebratory occasion.
Keep in mind the tables are in a U shape, so it's really hard to be present with your entire party, and whatever side you're on, you feel like you're on your own little island, which is a little disappointing for a birthday celebration, but we still had fun and made it work the best we could.
They do take reservations, but they do not seat until the entire party is present. The restaurant was clean, but you feel like you're going back in time. The ambience was casual yet very lively and fun.
