I was so excited to try this place, but was a bit disappointed. Walking in, the restaurant is a bit reminiscent of the very popular Janken in downtown Portland due to their choice of decor and the Sakura tree in the middle of the restaurant. It gives the restaurant a very beautiful and romantic ambiance. They also had plenty of seating, from high-tops, lounge seats, and outdoor seating. The staff was very kind the whole time.
My partner and I ordered a number of skewers, two handrolls, and plates of karaage, tempura, and calamari. The karaage, calamari and tempura were alright--nothing out of the ordinary. The skewers were also okay. However, with the quality, I wouldn't have expected the price to be as high as it was. The wagyu was mediocre, but if I did have to recommend two skewers from what I had, I thought the scallops and the gyu enoki were amazing. I was very excited for the otoro handroll and while it was very good and the portion was great, they forgot about my order and took about 30 minutes to make the handroll. Overall, the restaurant left me with a lot to still be desired and from what I've read from other reviews since, the restaurant seems to be more famous for its sushi rolls.
