Wonderful, family style setting. Warm& inviting. The food, was amazing. My favorite was the penne & veal. The cheesecake, was so rich! Chef’s kiss. The owner, came out a few times to see how everyone was doing… 🤌🏼👌

Great place for fine dining, always consistent, always delicious. Some may think it’s pricey, but the portions are enormous, the service is always top notch. You get what you pay for and Sal and Judy’s is always worth it!

First dined at Sal N Judy’s in 1988, almost 40 years ago!! Have lived all over the country and continue to return. For my money this is ALWAYS the finest meal ever. Never, ever disappointed with the food, atmosphere and service. Sautéed crab claws are a must. Everything made from scratch. My unquestioned favorite restaurant on planet Earth.

Good food, pleasant cozy atmosphere. A little expensive for Italian food that was a little bland. Awesome portions and FIRST class service.

The service the food the atmosphere was great. First time there I was completely felt like I was at home. I had the lasagna the best I had in years. I just have to say this restaurant is unbelievable. The service was very professional. It was just great that’s all. I said it was great.

I have mixed emotions about this review as we have loved and enjoyed Sal & Judy's for thirty years. However, this one experience has changed us forever as it affected our daughter's birthday on December 5th. The service was horribly slow. Our dinner salads came out about 50 minutes after we were seated at 7:00 PM. Then our entre' was served at 8:20 PM, an hour and twenty minutes after seating. And would have been later if I didn't get up and complain to the staff. My wife's entre' wasn't even what she ordered. Then, Mr. Sal was in the dining room going table to table asking about the dining experience. I told him it wasn't good and explained how the service was very slow and other tables were served before us (and came in after us). Then, to add insult to injury, upon leaving, Mr. Sal defended his staff to me and tried to explain that the service was handled properly (at least that's how I took it). I'm sad for Mr. Sal and his staff that they can't apologize for the lousy service and admit they made mistakes. They acted like they were right and we were in the wrong! It will take a very long time to get over how we were treated and ruining our special night out with our daughter. Yes, Mr. Sal, it ruined the night....

Can’t believe we hadn’t eaten here in person until now with having a camp so nearby! The food is great and the portions are huge. We all took food home. They have great Italian classics and lots of seafood dishes too. Their off menu special was my favorite: fried eggplant with a slightly sweeter red sauce and basil with lots of lump crabmeat! We all tried each other’s plates and it was all great!

Fine dining with great food. I highly recommend the Nicolas sauce topping. It's crab, shrimp and mushrooms in a lemon butter cream sauce and delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. Great place for a special occasion.

Never disappoints! The crab claws and seafood cannaloni are must orders! The shrimp scampi and redfish Nicholas are delicious too. Service is always great! Love the laid back ambiance.

Sal & Judy is the authentic Italian restaurant that I have been to since leaving NJ the food is unbelievable all the dishes are fantastic if you have not been there you are missing out best veal parmigiana

It was very good went with my girlfriend and it was nice. Got the crab claws and those were so good and then got the spaghetti and that was good too. Great food all in all. The service was fast and efficient. Ambulance was nice because of dark and grimy modd

Everything about this place is excellent! Authentic Italian food from Sal himself. He even comes out and greets you! The only bad thing I can say it's so hard to get in this place, which is a good thing. Reservations are a must!

If you are in Lacombe, this is THE place to eat!! You need a reservation. Service was impeccable! The food was unbelievably delicious. The owner, Sal, walked around the restaurant greeting patrons. The atmosphere was perfect. My next visit anywhere in the vicinity of Lacombe will include Sal & Judy's!

Best food on the north shore great Italian wonderful steaks best service and wonderful people

Our travel group went there on a recommendation from a good source. We had a party of 8. Turns out, that "source" hadn't been there in 20 years. Some of the menu items they recommended were no longer even on the menu. I ordered the stuffed artichoke. I make them at home & I hadn't had one in a restaurant in many years, because most restaurants do not serve them, so I was excited to try theirs. I was the last one to get my order, which I fully expected because knowing how long it takes to prepare a stuffed artichoke properly. When it finally arrived at the table, it looked delicious. Then I peeled the bottom leaves off and ate them as one should. They were dry and had absolutely no breading. The same thing happened with the next 4 leaves. They just slapped some bread crumbs on top of the artichoke, didn't even separate the bottom leaves and put breadcrumbs on each individual leaf, the way my grandmother taught me. I told the waiter & he said that's funny because they just made them fresh today. I expressed my dissatisfaction but he said that he doubts they would take it off the bill. And they didn't. Highly unprofessional. I am not a Karen, I am a foodie & never have I ever left a bad review, so take this seriously. DO NOT ORDER the stuffed artichoke. It sucks. The only thing Italian about it was the bread crumbs. And the staffs indifference just adds fire to the flame.

Xcellent food and service! Only change would be to recommend an occasional menu change, even if just the specials! Not really important but interior could use an update!!!!

Classic old school Sicilian Italian with Louisiana seafood! Best combination. Great service, drinks, apps, everything! One of my favorite places.

The best restaurant on the Northshore! They are always busy, so make a reservation! The service is fantastic. Sal always comes out to say hello and checks on everyone. I've never had a bad dish here. The crabclaws are a must! Try the veal parmesan!

Excellent food reminds me of where my mama worked @ Manales for 58 years as waitress. Thier Italian food reminds me of growing up . Would highly recommend but make reservations!!!! Much love for wonderful salad dressings and sauces in groceries!! But nothing compares to going out to eat at Sal & Judy's

This place has been here forever and it's still good. Sal is the brother of Joe in Pasado in New Orleans another famous place to eat. The crab claws here better than anywhere else. The fettuccine however was not as good as it used to be at an passados in New Orleans. My fish could've been a lot better. And the artichoke and oyster soup wasn't really that good. It's unusual to get a poor meal here but somehow we succeeded. Still it's a great place and it's usually very very good.

The food is amazing here. My family has been going for decades now. It is my favorite Italian restaurant around and worth the drive to get there. I've never had a bad meal here and I've tried plenty.

I ate at Sal and Judy's for the first time tonight. There were five of us. We had a very nice table and what I really liked is that we could actually carry on a conversation, unlike in so many restaurants today. We shared crabmeat au gratin and fried eggplant sticks for appetizers and they were excellent. Two of the party had veal Parmesan, which they said was delicious. One had eggplant Parmesan which he enjoyed. Another had the grilled trout, which he said was great. I had the lasagna, which was divine. A house salad comes with your meal. A mixture of lettuce with a delicious oil and vinegar dressing. Blue cheese and croutons were put on the table for the salads. I had dessert--everyone else was stuffed with the delicious food. Try the lemonicello marscopone cake--yum! The waiter told Mr. Sal it was my birthday and he came by the table to wish me well and graciously let me take a photo with him. All in all, I highly recommend Sal and Judy's, the best Italian restaurant on the North Shore.

Ok I really wanted to try this restaurant and went for my birthday celebration after we had gone skydiving. I was so excited to be finally trying the food and was really disappointed in the food and the service. I ordered the lasagna which was no more than a big blob that tasted like the chef boyardee I grew up on. It was a lot of food but it just wasn't good. My date had shrimp scampi and my dad the fried trout and green beans. Nothing to really say. The waiter left us unattended for long periods of time and Mr Sal came out and spoke to several tables but never made it to ours. For the price the food wasn't worth it or the trip over. My colleague loves the shrimp scampi but it just didn't cut it for me. Not a bad place but not a place I would return too.

Best Italian food on the Northshore! The ambiance, the food, the service are all top notch!

I grew up eating here. Huge portions and delicious food. I always get the veal Parmesan as my main, and the crab claw appetizer as an appetizer. Dunking that fresh French bread into that sauce is just amazing. Well worth the drive to Lacombe. Definitely would recommend trying to get reservations, usually a week in advance if you want the weekend.

I've been to Italy many times I've been to Italy numerous times and really thought I knew all of the spectacular Italian eateries in the gulf south. I didn't. I had been following Sal & Judy's on social media for quite some time and finally had a chance to stop there on the way home from Savannah. I can't think of any place better now. The service is impeccable and attentive but not bothers. My wife, myself and my 2 boys ages 5 & 8 all ordered something different. My meal was lasagna. It was just as I had remembered it in one of the small towns around lake Como. Flavors combined so perfectly in the dish. My wife's veal was presented beautifully. There was a whole plate of just veal. Another dish was presented with the fettuccine noodles. And the boys both had spaghetti and meatball. One son didn't touch his meatball so I ate it. Scrumptious. All of this food brings my memory back to specific places in Italy. The boys loved it as well. And we were even able to score a glass of their delicious tomato gravy (our rouses have been out) The French bread they bring to the table is soooo good and light and fluffy. Cannot wait until the next time to stop here.

We had an absolutely outstanding experience! My husband's family is Sicilian (they are sticklers for "meals like grandma made" and are quite critical when something "just isn't right"); there was not one complaint. The gumbo was the best I've had in decades. We had appetizers as well as a full meal; everything was fabulous! This is truly the first time I have raved about everything I have eaten at a particular restaurant. In addition to the food and ambiance being stellar, we were extremely touched to see Mr. Sal going from table to table to greet his guests. That's something you just don't see a lot of anymore. We have made a commitment to ourselves to become regular diners.

Such a lovely experience for our anniversary! Our server Bryan was very attentive and took many pictures for us! The food was incredible and served up fresh . It was very romantic and it really felt like an authentic Italian restaurant! Cannot wait to go back!

The Food Was So Cold When Served and Please Do Not Complain As It Will Do No Good. Server and Other Staff Were So Rude. Very Over Rated And Way Too Expensive. Never Ever Going To This Terrible Restaurant Again. Suggest You Don't Eat Here At All.

Great meal with close friends. We had the crab claws calamari and baked oysters I had lamp chops that were divine! Others had the redfish topped with lots of tasty items and loved theirs as well.

My first visit. It was better than I could've imagined. Hot bread. Wine. APPS: cannelloni & crab claws. Both were amazing. Thank goodness we had more bread to soak up all that sauce. Meals came with a salad. It was a very good Italian salad. MAIN: 1. 2 Soft shell crabs. Perfect with the sauce of lump crab meat side of delicious green bean. 2. Veal Parm- perfect red sauce. With Alfredo spaghetti. Lg. Portion. Side of gr. beans 3. Grilled trout. I requested the crab meat sauce. Oh. Wow. Lots of lump meat in a delicious hint of lemon&butter sauce. Side of gr. beans 4. Panne Veal with crab sauce. Amazing. The table also had a side of spaghetti w/red gravy. So good. DESSERT: vanilla ice cream with amaretto, almonds, whipped cream and a cherry. What a fantastic combo. The service is impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, and very helpful. Friendly. I must say, the best meal I have eaten. You savor each bite. We had lots of left overs. I'm so happy. The prices are not more than any fine dining restaurant, maybe even less. Make a reservation!!!!

Amazing crab claws with the best sauce you can imagine. Lots of choices for entrees. Great fresh tomato sauce. Wonderful atmosphere and great service. The lasagna is enough to feed an army. It literally hangs off the plate!

My husband and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here. The ambiance is lovely. We ordered the oyster appetizer and a ravioli appetizer. For our meals, we got steak with green beans and Spitini with red sauce pasta on the side. The appetizers were delicious! The hot bread was perfect. The steak and pasta were amazing. The spitini was good, but a touch dry. The only thing I was a little bummed out about was that we told them we were celebrating an anniversary when we made the reservations, but there was nothing special to commemorate that during the meal. But overall, the food, service and atmosphere were outstanding and we will return!

Delicious Italian food close to our home. Waitstaff was very friendly and Mr. Sal himself walked around and made sure diners were happy. Can't wait to go there again

Very homey restaurant with large personal portions. We ate from their holiday menu, came with an appetizer, salad, fresh bread for the table, an entree, and dessert and coffee. The crab claws are delicious, definitely our go-to. And the pane veal came with four veal cutlets each and pasta, which is way more that any of us could eat. Definitely be prepared to load up the to-go boxes if you aren't big eaters!

Absolutely the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Brad was our server and he was excellent.

This is normally a favorite restaurant, but the food has slipped. I ordered Lasagne & it was a giant portion...but NO CHEESE! Very strange. I'd have been happier w a smaller portion and actual cheese. My family members got the Trout Nicholas, but it had very little lump crabmeat like it used to. Also the drinks were weak & mostly ice. Then I old the waitress it was my friend's Birthday...she said she'd "sneak" a dessert for us but they don't do that anymore...Really?! Then she comes out with a tiny piece of spimoni. How much could this cost? And you don't need to risk your job to give a table of 4 a dessert. We spent a lot of $$ but really didn't get the quality we were used to. And Sal never visits tables of people he dosent know...big mistake.

Might be my all time favorite Italian restaurant anywhere. Great food, service and atmosphere. We make the drive from Biloxi a couple of times of year.

This was my first time at Sal and Judy's. The atmosphere was very nice, chic and upbeat. Every table was full. The food was delicious and the attention we got from everyone- from the bartender and the host to the waiters was impeccable. Definitely a nice spot if you crave that old Italian food and atmosphere

LOVE this restaurant! Mr. Sal is amazing! Italian all the way, and the food he prepares is amazing! He not only owns the business, but can be found out in the dining room meeting his customers. Great atmosphere!!

Coming from a New Orleans Italian family, I'm always disappointed in Italian restaurants. Not here! Everything was great! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all amazing!

My 1st Sal & Judy's meal in quarantine- comfort food- spaghetti and 2 huge meatballs was just want I needed. And to hang out with my nephew with social distancing, of course, during this crazy times. 4.2.2020

Definatley one of our go to restaurants. Has the typical loud, friendly italian vibe. Tonight the food was amazing just as expected. My number one dish here is shrimp scampi with lump crab and mushrooms. Decadent dish, light lemon cream sauce that doesn't disappoint. For him the ribeye cooked medium....juicy and tender with fresh fettuccini. A must try....

Went to sal and Judy to celebrate my sister in law birthday. It was very nice and food was ok. I would go back but wouldn't be in a rush seeing it was not to special. Serve was wonderful but front desk was dry and food was so so

My family and I drove an hour to celebrate Father's Day at Sal & Judy's. We immediately met Sal as we walked in the door and our waitress Jeanne took tremendous care of us. She was very knowledgeable with the entire menu but sold us on the delicious specials they had that day. She was personal and pleasurable to be around. The restaurant resembled a cozy Italian family meal. My family enjoyed sharing these specials and look forward to visiting again!
