Sal the kitchen

We arrived to an empty restaurant, yet the service was weak and the staff appeared unprepared. When we asked the waitress for recommendations, she was unable to suggest dishes or explain the differences between the fish sauces, merely repeating what was written on the menu. We ordered our main courses shortly after arriving, and they were served quickly. The paella was excellent, while the fish of the day was average. For dessert, we ordered the olive cake, which was very good; however, it took over 50 minutes to arrive. When we questioned the delay, the waitress claimed the restaurant was full. We asked to cancel the dessert, but she said it was not possible because the chef had already started preparing it—without checking. Given that it was a cake, this delay suggests either poor kitchen planning or an understaffed team. After finishing dessert, requesting the check took another 20 minutes and required two card machines to complete payment. Summary: Good food, but unprepared service and a kitchen operation that does not seem capable of handling a full house. I am not inclined to return.

We celebrated my birthday here. Their fish of the day was Mahi Mahi. I decided to order it with the beurre blanc sauce. It was delicious!! I really, really enjoyed it. I am a pescatarian so I am very particular about my seafood. I had a yummy Passion Fruit Spritzer to go with it. We tried the olive cake with chocolate ganache and ice cream that was also very good. We had to circle around a second time to find parking, but we eventually found it.

This is such an amazing little place! I’m so happy we followed the reviews and visited. The service was so friendly and the food was not only presented immaculately but tasted divine. I 100% recommend trying the paella and the brussel sprouts!

A friend recommended this place, so we decided to check it out. It has a relaxing atmosphere with inviting outdoor seating. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome right away. The food was excellent, every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Without a doubt the best restaurant on the island! The food, the ambiance and the staff always make for an incredible dinner that makes me come back multiple times during each visit to Curaçao. Every dish has a unique and creative twist that elevates it making for impeccable flavors. The paella is probably one of the best I have ever had, their catch of the day is always prepared in a unique and delicious way, they use ingredients such as orange blossom that really makes the food stand out.

This is one of the most popular restaurants of the region. The ambience when its dark is very good here, there is a small garden in front where most of the tables are. They have really tasty, original cocktails. We enjoyed the dishes a lot, some were quite salty (but it is in the name of course). The presentation was stunning and everything was freshly made. The portions are good. The staff was quite friendly and fast. However, sometimes they seemed a bit cold, maybe too fancy. It would be better if it had a more homely feeling. Still, it is a place to recommend if you are in for an original meal!

Highly recommend. The food was phenomenal, service was great and venue was lovely. Rare to find all three in the same place. Even the vegan dish was fantastic, which doesn’t happen very often! Also highly recommend the weekly butter with sourdough bread. Sal handily overtook the top spot from Mosacaña as our favorite restaurant on the island this trip, though as a key difference, Sal has much more of a romantic vibe (it’s great date spot) whereas Mosacaña has more of an upbeat atmosphere and is better for kids/families. Sal is really a top notch restaurant.
