When people ask "Best Tacos in Vancouver?" I can guarantee the first words out of a Vancouverite's mouth would be: "Sal y Limon"
They used to be a tiny hole in the wall, but a few years ago they renovated into this big beautiful space with beautiful art, ample seating, and a great vibe.
Last night I grabbed 3 tacos: Shrimp, cochinita, and al pastor -- all heavenly and divine! I was actually not sure what I was going to get when I ordered the shrimp one, but was pleasantly surprised with it being deep friend, with yummy slaw and diced tomatoes. The other two were shredded pork (juicy, too), covered in cilantro, onions, and other goodness and they hit the spot. WARNING: Their MILDEST sauce is the "avocado" sauce (their sauces are by the window). I also grabbed the Peanut sauce, Chef sauce and Jalapeno, recollecting on my past experiences, daring to grab the Diablo sauce and crying through most of my meal as my mouth was on fire.
THIS IS WHY YOU NEED THEIR DELICIOUS HORCHATA TO DRINK (or maybe a Jarrito will suffice).
I have definitely had a burrito and churro in the past which were also awesome. I hear the Huaraches and Tortas (Mexican sandwich) are the bomb, but I've never tried. If you're hungry, go for one of those babies!
