I went for the Tunnel party last night. Loved the music and sound system. This *COULD* be a great club. But it’s not for two reasons: 1) they use glass for drinks, which creates an annoying and dangerous dance floor environment, and 2) the bouncers are mean af.
1/ The floor becomes covered with shards of broken glass from people dropping and stepping on their cocktails and beer bottles. It’s super unsafe, and it took me an hour to pick all the shards out of my Doc Marten boots when I got home. ***DEFINITELY BRING CLOSED-TOE SHOES WITH THICK SOLES*** How can any reasonable business owner think this is ok? It is terrible.
2/ I read the reviews about the nasty bouncers before coming and mentally prepared myself, but a couple hours into the show, I was wondering what all the fuss was about, they all seemed lovely. Until a bouncer came and grabbed me from behind in the middle of the dance floor and shouted “WHAT’S IN YOUR BAG??!! SHOW ME NOW!!” This is the same guy who let me in and he didn’t have a problem with my small drawstring bag upon entering the club. I only had sunglasses, a long sleeve shirt, my fan, and a cocktail glass I picked up off the floor underneath me so I could dance without contributing to blanket of glass shards beginning to pile up on the dance floor. He got pissed off and told me I couldn’t keep the glass. I was scared of him, so I super politely explained that I was trying to help keep the dance floor safe, not steal a cheap cocktail glass. He eventually understood and backed off, but it was an awful experience and totally unnecessary. I didn’t let it ruin my night, but it for sure shook me up.
There are so many great clubs in BCN. Steer clear of this one until they fix their toxic management systems. I will never come back again.
