We made a reservation, and nowhere in the confirmation did it mention a dress code. When we arrived, my boyfriend stepped away briefly to find parking. I stayed and ordered a bottle since it was my birthday. When my boyfriend returned, he was denied entry.
For context, he was wearing jean joggers and a collared polo shirt, no sweatpants, no T-shirt, nothing inappropriate. We were told he couldn’t come in because of “sweatpants,” which was not accurate. His outfit was completely acceptable.
Of course, he was upset because it was his girlfriend’s birthday and he wanted to be there with me. I was upset the entire time as well. On top of that, the food was very average, and the place is nothing like how it’s promoted.
I repeatedly asked to speak with a manager, but a manager was never called. Instead, someone claimed to be the manager, yet even the guards inside and at the bar stated that she was not the manager.
Later in the night, the table next to us arrived, and the man was wearing literal shorts and he was allowed in. If the dress code is truly enforced, how was someone in shorts permitted entry, but my boyfriend in full pants was not?
We eventually left and went to a club afterward, where my boyfriend had no issue getting in.
Management seriously needs to do better with enforcing their “dress code” fairly and consistently. If someone asks for a manager, the actual manager should come out not someone pretending to be one.
I don’t know if this was a racial issue, but it certainly felt questionable. Especially considering others were let in wearing shorts, while my boyfriend was denied. We were seated right at the entrance, and we also saw other people turned away dressed appropriately. The policy clearly isn’t applied evenly.
It was extremely disappointing to spend my birthday like this. Even the guards could see how upset I was. This experience completely ruined the night, and I would not recommend this place
