"Classic Japanese cuisine made from top-notch ingredients is the name of the game here. The sushi and sashimi, tempura, and robata grill specialities, as well as the sukiyaki and shabu shabu stews all come highly recommended. Another draw of this place is its inviting interior, which is sleek and simple, yet cosy at the same time. You can watch the sushi master at work at a small counter." - Michelin Inspector

Overall good with some special food such as lobster and caviar but somehow the overall experience is not at the level you expect from the price you pay and reference from Michelin. Food taste and quality is not consistent. Some dish are excellent some other plain. It feels like you can eat as good in other restaurant where you pay half the price.

I got the Sala No Omakase, certain pieces out of the 21 are low quality or cheap cuts. Only 7-8 are really good. So overall it's a bit too pricey but good quality sushi.

My best japanese food experience all over Europe since 1998. The quality of their dishes, the quality of ingredients, their experience are definitely fantastic.

If you love Japanese food, Sala of Tokyo is a must stop in Zurich. Off a busy street you find a lovely, calm setting, with kind and welcoming staff. Admittedly I’ve been multiple times, and I’ve never been disappointed. As I understand it, the owner studied in Japan, so his attention to quality ingredients and a proper presentation is clear. The style of food is classic and elevated. Best sushi in Zurich in my opinion. Not that I know a lot, but I was also very impressed by their sake list. Definitely fun to try a few different glasses around the table and learn a little more.

I recommend this restaurant! Food was very good! There has been a bit of delay in serving the drinks, and to apologize for it, they offered us at the end of the dinner a glass of champagne, I found this very kind:)

One of the most tasteless japanese noodle soup/rahmen with very average shrimp tempura. I have tried many japanese restaurants and rahmen in different cities, but this experience was the worst. The portions are very average. The starter and the main came on the less than 5min at the same time. So, I do wonder if things like tempura were made fresh. The service was friendly but the food was an absolut disappointment. Would not recommend it.

📝 I tried this restaurant with a friend and can really recommend it to anyone for its great food and good service: if you want to have a taste of Japan, here's your place. 🍴 We ordered assorted sashimi, unagi and ebi tempura: all was excellent. They have a very good and varied menu, next time I will try sukiyaki which you don't find very often on Zurich! 📍 Only two minutes away from the HB central station, it can be easily reached from anyone in Zurich.

The all-tuna event was an absolute delight. I felt a childlike sense of wonder watching the fish being expertly cut. After returning to reality during a brief intermission, building up the vorfreude, we finally had the chance to taste it. The care in service and the exceptional quality of the fish came closest to what I experienced early one morning in Tokyo. A heartfelt thank you to the team at Sala of Tokyo for making this possible.

Yelp
Probably one of the more authentic Japanese restaurants in Zurich. If you are looking for loads of fancy rolls, probably not your place (although I love those too) but if you look for Japanese style sushi, this is the place to go. I mainly have experience with their delivery food as we are in the middle of the COVID19 pandemic and all dine-in options have been closed for quite a while. Their sashimi platter is great, it contains more than your regular salmon and tuna slices: it has a good variation and foremost it is fresh. This might be a small detail, but they use real shiso leaves, not the plastic thingies that you get at other places. This is my go to place for good quality Japanese style sushi and sashimi.

Yelp
This is very yummy food, prefer the old restaurant more. Staff is very kind but very stressed. It took 1.5 hours for our food to come very frustrating. But definitely worth it if you want yummy food and have a long time.

Yelp
too expensive and quality is very bad. when previous Japanese owner was there, it was very quality japanese restaurant. now owner changed seems white man who really irritated, you can see the way he talks to his workers. quality went down. Sashimi is cut very thin. Shushi rice become bigger.
