A Fremont mainstay loved for crispy garlic fish and pad kee mao. Still buzzing with dine-in service, as recent coverage on Yelp and Restaurantji shows. Reliable for families and groups, with a broad menu and steady local following.

We ordered Angel Wings, Drunken Noodles, and Pineapple Fried Rice. The Angel Wings were crispy and tasty. The Drunken Noodles and fried rice were good as well, though a bit too salty and saucy for my taste. I’d still come back to try other dishes. The restaurant is spacious, I barely had to wait even during peak dinner hours, and the staff was very attentive. The food also came out fairly quickly.

This has been a locals favorite for a long time and i can see why! A pretty extensive menu with almost no faults in any of its dishes! From the beef BBQ to their curry to their fish and tom yum soup, it seems everything they do here has a lot of flavor and taste and even a little bit of spice if you even ask for it! At the time we came around 6:00 p.m. there wasn't too many people sitting down, however by the time it was 7:00 there was a quite a little line starting to form up. As the people started to gather and fill in the tables, service started to slow down considerably. Such as some dishes not coming out at the same time or even the fact some of the white rice and water even ran out midway through the meal and waited at least 10 mins for them to appear. However, the wait is definitely worth it, especially for the beef BBQ and even the duck Curry that I tried which had a lot of flavor in both of them! Even the deep fried fish was also really good with bamboo that was a little bit spicy. Keep in mind most of the menu items are all served family style so I highly suggest that you either maybe get 3-5 bowls of white rice to complement your meal but at $4 its a tall task. I can understand the prices on some of the other menu items but every item tastes super fragrant and even a little sweet at times for both and their seasoned very well! The pineapple fried rice was also really amazing as well! Service, when they did appear, was pretty straightforward and I was very glad they were transparent about what was going on with any sort of delays as well as checking up on us once in a while. The decorations are pretty muted inside, however I think it looks like they have some sort of soundproofing around either near the windows or maybe on the roof due to some special looking foam, I thought that was pretty nice but it also contributed how well nicely laid out. The entire area is with the thai decorations and Buddhist areas around! Overall its not as bad thai restaurant in this centre area of Fremont, especially if you have a bigger group. However, they do charge a 14% service charge for 4 or more people so do adjust your tip if necessary.

I hadn’t been back here since before the pandemic, when this place was at least decent. Fast forward to now and wow — what a disappointment. Sure, the food tastes fine. But that’s where the positives end. The portions are a rip-off for the prices they charge, and you walk out feeling cheated. Roti Canai appetizer: $7.50 for a laughably tiny portion. Blink and you’ll miss it. Pineapple fried rice: Flavor was decent, but the serving size was closer to 75% of what any reasonable Thai restaurant would give you. Rice sides: $5 for a small bowl of garlic rice, $3 for plain white rice — seriously? That’s highway robbery. This place is cashing in on higher prices while shamelessly cutting back on portions. With so many other Thai spots around, there’s zero reason to waste your money here. I’m sorry, but this place isn’t even worthy of a 3.5, let alone the 4.2 it somehow has. Bottom line: Good taste can’t make up for being nickel-and-dimed at every turn. Unless you like paying premium prices for kid-sized portions, avoid this place.

Food: read the reviews and decided to come here for our Thai food craving. It was very busy at 7:30. The food came really quick after we ordered and I have to say this is probably by far the best Tom Kha soup I’ve had in Bay Area. Most of theirs dishes can order with your choice of meat. I usually don’t like curry but the red curry we ordered is pretty nice. The eggplant with beef is my favorite! Definitely would wanna come back and try more. Service: the staff are still helpful even they are busy all the time. Ambiance: casual family or friend meetups are suitable

We ordered bbq chicken and crispy fish. Both really good! Also ordered pad thai to go, also good! Only complain is the white rice, poor quality. Will definitely come back here!

Google
Popping in to say that I agree with the reviews - great food, quick service, decent sized portions and clean surroundings! We have had food at their SC location and this did not disappoint as well! We ate all vegetarian- plenty of options. Def try the garlic rice!!

This was our second try at sala Thai after almost an year. We felt the difference in food quality. Our order usually remains the same, pad Thai veg and chicken. But this time, we also tried yellow curry and rice, which was refreshing and aromatic. Chicken tasted amazing. The small portion of soup was enough for two people as appetisers. It was hearty addition to entire meal. Another order was pad Thai tofu. It had dress veggies, tasted good and was medium spicy. Portion size and overall the amount of tofu added in the dish would have been more. Especially considering the price of the dish but it tasted nice. The service was good despite being sort of a rush hour. Order arrived quickly. There was some delay in bringing the bill/ cheque to us but otherwise service was great. Atmosphere was cozy and there were a lot of people in the hall. And even more waiting outside to be seated. So I would say the place is popular among people. But the place had a calm vibe to it despite that many people being at one place. Overall, the experience was good and we’ll definitely give it try sometime later. Hope you enjoy this place too! Cheers 🥂

Google
This is my favorite Thai restaurant and always order Drunken Noodles.I noticed that since pandemic their menu price have gone up by about 40%. Also noticed on my last visit yesterday the portion of food was about 75% of what it used to be. I always used to have leftover in the past and yesterday it barely was enough. This place is noisy in peak hours though their service is excellent.

Yelp
Classic Thai food. Great ambiance. Cute small with fast and friendly service. Can seat small and big groups. On popular nights there is a 30-45 min wait for big groups like fridays and saturdays duhh. Pad Thai and chicken satay were my fav! I only wish they offered the spring roll with peanut sauce appetizer, but everything has been good! Great beer too! Parking right outside. Safe area.

Yelp
I love Sala Thai and think it's one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. Have been here over the years, but most recently had dinner this week and it did not disappoint, as usual. Our favorite dish is the crispy fish - it comes out SO hot and crispy on the outside, but so soft on the inside, and the sauce that it comes with that you pour over the fish is the perfect sweet pairing. This time we also got the drunken noodles, larb salad with ground chicken, roti, a fried rice and the panang curry with two extra orders of white rice. Everything was super delicious and worth ordering. I will say that portion sizes may have gotten a little smaller (was most noticeable with the drunken noodles) since pre-COVID, but I guess that's normal for every restaurant nowadays. The four of us still left really full and satisfied! Service was quick though we came on a weeknight so it wasn't too busy. Plenty of parking in the lot around the restaurant as well as large seating areas, with two individual bathrooms in the corner.

Yelp
We love Sala Thai! Everything is very flavorful and give good portions too. We always order the fried fish with garlic sauce. This time we ordered crab fried rice, green curry, pad Thai, and grilled pork. Everything came out hot and pretty quick too. There was no wait for us around lunch time on a weekend. The crowd was normal where most of the tables were filled up. This place is our go to Thai restaurant when we are craving Thai food.

Yelp
3.5 rounded to 4. I've never been to this sala Thai as I would usually frequent #2, since that location has closed I decided to come try this one! Arrived for lunch on a Thursday and the restaurant was packed although no wait for 4 people. The service was truly excellent, they took our order quickly and the food came out very quickly, we were in and out within 45 minutes. The food itself was good. The restaurant is perfect for a quick lunch where you know exactly what you will be getting, it's nothing incredible, but it's simply, homey, good quality ingredients. The portions may be a little small, however the flavors are well developed. It's a good average restaurant that remains consistent wherever you go. However, if you are expecting incredible Thai food, this is not where you will find it. It's simply good and reliable and exactly what you would expect from a local Thai restaurant. It certainly satisfied the craving and I appreciated the quick service, I would have hoped the food would taste a little better with more nuanced flavors, however I can respect that's not what sala Thai is trying to do and for a popular local neighborhood restaurant, it was a great meal! I'd recommend telling them to make things spicy as everything came out extremely mild. We got the string beans, drunken noodles, and green curry. Everything was good, nothing was excellent. Noodles were a tad bit overcooked and curry lacked depth of flavor. Green beans were good but not notable, yet I'd probably still order them again.

Yelp
I have been to this location a few times! It's my goto Thai spot in Fremont and great for casual lunches/dinners. My favorite dish has to be the crispy fish! As someone who doesn't usually order fish, this is insanely delicious and I get it every single time. The outside is crispy, the inside is so flaky soft and melts in your mouth. The sauce pairing is also absolute perfection! The curries and noodle dishes here are also amazing, so really can't go wrong with your order. I highly recommend doing family style so you can try a little bit of everything. Parking is super easy as this is located in a complex. I'd say getting a seat can be tough during busy times.

Yelp
The Taste We had our go-tos for fast birthday food, chicken pad thai, red curry with beef, and crispy garlic fish. All the food was good, as expected and consistent. I only wish they had a lime or lemon with the pad Thai for some acid. Service We had utensils upon request. Ambiance The service was fast for pick-up, with virtually no wait. There were quite a few other to-go orders and people inside eating, so it was as popular as usual. Verdict ‍ I still recommend this as the best Thai restaurant around, our family favorite.

Yelp
This place doesn't need a rave review, but they've earned it. A true institution in Fremont, and now with three locations. This is the original, but was located in a lot that got bulldozed over and made into apartment complexes. It was a lot more cramped so this location has been a vast improvement. It's also nice that it's right off one of the roads closed off for the annual Arts & Wine Festival! This is also one of the few places where, if you can't get a table (and that does happen), the food is just as good if you take it to go and eat at home. Everything is delicious and there's something for every palette from adventurous to safe.

Yelp
My bestie lives in Fremont so we decided to have Sala Thai for dinner tonight since her family eats here quite often. I'm usually really skeptical of trying new thai places because nothing compares to my favorite spot, Krung Thai. It was actually pretty busy here on a Wednesday night. Service was okay, waiters seemed to be rushing us through our time here. We ordered hot tea but they ended up bringing thai tea which we should've just kept because the hot tea was dark and gross. However, service was actually really fast. Our food started coming out with 5-10 minutes which was great. We ordered the crispy fish with garlic sauce, spicy papaya salad, pad thai, and pineapple fried rice. The garlic sauce paired so well with crispy fish. It was honestly the highlight of this whole experience and is a must have when coming here. The pineapple fried rice was also very delicious and was filled with flavor. The pad thai and papaya salad could've been better but still good. Our total came out to be about $85 which is not bad for all that we ordered. Sala Thai is a great choice if you're in Fremont but is probably not my favorite Thai spot. I definitely would have enjoyed it more if our experience hadn't felt rushed and if the service was better. Overall, I'd probably come back just for the crispy fish.

Yelp
This has been my go to Thai food for probably the last 15+ years. It had been at least five years since I've been here and my husband and I decided to stop in. The crispy fish is exactly as I remember it, crispy, and sweet on the outside yet flavorful on the inside. The sweet sauce is the perfect accoutrement. My husband ordered a small portion of garlic rice, which honestly surprise me and how flavorful it was. As well as as an appetizer; cucumber salad, which was refreshing and a nice reprieve in the spicy dishes we ordered. I really appreciate how you can get a smaller serving of soup, which is enough for 2 people versus having to get a large serving. We went with a shrimp, coconut soup; Tom Kha and it was delicious. I love how Thai food incorporates coconut in a savory way. We also had the papaya salad which is served different than most traditional ways. It has Romaine lettuce, which is chopped similar to a salad. It was extremely flavorful and we both enjoyed it. We got it extra spicy and it definitely had that needed kick. Next time I would add shrimp just to add protein. The drunken noodles with beef were also cooked to perfection. The noodles were chewy and coated in flavor. My husband opted for a Thai lager beer which he stated was very refreshing. I would absolutely recommend coming here on any nights as there's plenty of space or ordering for takeout. Service was also very accommodating and everyone was nice and friendly. The place is very clean and there is a safe and plentiful parking lot.

Yelp
THE CRISPY FISH WITH THE SWEET GARLIC SAUCE IS A LIFE-CHANGER! Came here Sunday ~5:40 pm. The place was not busy so we were seated immediately. What we ordered: - Pad See Eiw with beef, a classic staple to the table. Very saucy and flavorful. Even the broccoli radiates flavor from the sauce! - Pad Kee Mao with chicken. Also a classic staple to the table. Also very saucy and flavorful. The presence of bell peppers adds a slight crunch and some sweetness. - Pineapple Fried Rice ~ despite having pineapple chunks and raisins in this dish, this fried rice was not sweet. With a slight yellow curry flavor, this dish is a nice rice dish to add to the table. - Crispy Fish ~ which was the highlight of the night! The fish is freshly fried and comes piping hot and extra crispy. Paired with the sweet garlic soy sauce, this dish left us fighting for pieces! Make sure to order more for the table! With a party of 5, two of these dishes were enough to satisfy 5 hungry souls! Been dreaming about this dish since I first tried it, and it did not disappoint! Service was quick and efficient. Servers are respectful and careful when serving hot dishes, even when holding multiple dishes in one go. A family-friendly establishment and parking is ample. This was my second time returning since the first time in May and the food was just as good-- Very consistent in quality and taste. One of the favorite restaurants in Fremont. Will return, especially for the crispy fish!

Yelp
Food was just as tasty as we've remembered it to be! We don't usually eat out often because the cost of food is so high nowadays, so we consider this as a treat. We ordered vegetarian Tom kha, beef pad Thai with extra veggies, and yellow curry with rice. The extra veggies and rice were additional charges, and it was kinda pricy, but fibers are always welcomed. Everything was on the mild side, so we can add peppers to our own liking. We asked for dried chili flakes on the side and enjoyed upping the heat whenever we felt like it! The service was quick and it felt like the staff were tag teaming, so our initial server wasn't the one who closed us out. That was okay with us! I thought that was pretty smart because you're always looked after and made sure everything was good, without waiting for long to be helped. We got there during dinner time on a Friday and were seated within 10 minutes of signing in. Not very loud at all. Everything came out pretty smoothly and it was an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
I always love to come here and bring different friends to try the food. We especially love the crispy fried fish with the delicious yummy garlic sauce. All time favorite buy must eat while it is hot. Service was not bad. Ambiance is always loud. Love the side chilies

Yelp
Sala Thai is a staple for Fremont. They have several locations, and they all serve great Thai food. My favorites are: -Satay chicken -Tom Kha soup -Crab fried rice -Paradise Noodles -garlic lover (with meat or vegetarian, both are amazing) -crispy fish with garlic sauce (sala thai special) -green curry The food is fresh and tasty. This is my go to Thai spot in fremont. It can get a little chaotic inside the restaurant with the amount of customers they get.

Yelp
My boss loves coming here for lunch. Her favs are Viet & Thai (she is Filipino) & since the office is around the corner we come here often. Their lunch specials are great deals so naturally the lunch crowd packs up so come before 12:30
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Been here multiple times, but never left a review. The wait on a weekend was around 15 minutes. My go to's are papaya salad or a soup. I was so cold, so I opted for Tom Kia ( which was flavorful). Their Tom Yum is also really good. I always get the crab fried rice and crispy garlic fish. Such a yummy combo with extra spices! The sauce for the fish is sweet, but pairs well. Honestly three dishes was a lot for us still that we had leftovers. Staff is attentive and nice. Inside it looks like a traditional restaurant with lots of seating. Outside, there's tons of parking. Definitely a staple if you're in Fremont for authentic Thai food.

Yelp
BIRTHDAY DINNER My birthday was on a Sunday in September. I thought about treating myself to dinner at another place however my sister and parents treated me here. We arrived on an early Sunday evening. I ate at Sala Thai a couple of times. I knew what to expect. One of the items I always tend to order is the crispy fish with sweet garlic sauce. Besides the crispy fish the other items ordered that Sunday were the panang curry and pad prik king. For the panang curry the meat selected was beef while for the pad prik king pork was chosen. I always prefer Thai curries over Indian curries because the Thai version has a fruity texture. The panang beef was hearty as the curry wasn't earthy. With the greens the pad prik king added a crunchy texture. The crispy fish at Sala Thai never disappoints because breading is crispy yet not oily. Also the sweet chili sauce cuts the richness of the crispy fish. The Thai iced tea was a soothing drink that balances the fried items I ate. Usually I don't get dessert however I wanted the sweet sticky rice with mango. The warm, sweet rice compliments the cold, tangy mango. I myself coming back to Sala Thai again either for lunch or dinner. Lastly I want to say thank you to my sister, mom, and dad for treating me here for my birthday.

Yelp
Sala Thai fixes our Thai food craving! DRUNKEN NOODLE (PAD KEE MAO) Stir fried flat noodles with onion, bell pepper, tomato, basil, and choice of meat (4/5). We chose chicken. This dish was mildly spicy but with good flavor. Although, the portion size was small. CRISPY FISH WITH SWEET GARLIC SAUCE (SALA THAI FAVORITE) Battered and deep fried filet rex sole topped with sala thai sweet garlic sauce. Extra sauce $2.50 (4.5/5) - This did not disappoint! A nice crunchy exterior but a flakey firm rex sole on the inside. That sauce is so good! Steamed Jasmine Rice - perfectly cooked. Thai Ice Coffee (4/5) - creamy taste with the caffinated coffee.

Yelp
Hubby and I visited Sala Thai over the weekend. Jam packed restaurant during lunch hours. Roti canai for apps: the sauce was coconutty and sweet. Not to our liking. Did not taste or look authentic. Roti was usual. Drunken noodles (spicy) oh boy this was really spicy. My mouth was on fire. Pretty decent. Nothing great for us. Usual chicken, veggies coated in thick sauces. Portion size was small for the price. If you cannot handle very spicy food, go for medium.

Yelp
I love Sala Thai! Stopped in for lunch today for the first time and i was totally blown away by the vance of all the herbs and spices contained in my meal . I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and Veggie Tom Kha soup and it was so deliciously balanced i ate everything. next time I'll be sure to post photos. Sala Thai exceeded my expectations. Definitely 5. Stars

Yelp
Sala Thai is a bit of an enigma. From the outside, the large, unassuming building looks almost deserted. It wouldn't be surprising to think it was closed entirely. But step inside, and you're greeted by a bustling crowd. There's no outdoor seating here, so be prepared to dine indoors. The interior is a far cry from the vibrant, colorful decor you might find at other Thai restaurants. Sala Thai keeps it simple, with a standard restaurant feel. They offer a QR code for online ordering, but we had a server who took our order efficiently. Service throughout the meal was fast, yet not overbearing. The food itself was decent, but nothing extraordinary. The roti canai, for example, arrived looking a bit plain, but the taste was okay. The accompanying peanut sauce had a nice tang to it. The mussaman curry was also just alright. The curry itself was flavorful but a bit skimpy on the tofu. A side of rice seemed like a necessity, but unfortunately, it came out undercooked. Pad kee mao was very bland, so my friend had to ask for chili sauce on the side. The Thai iced tea was good but a bit watered down. Overall, Sala Thai is a 3-star experience. The food is decent, the service is efficient, and the prices are reasonable.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
We like Sala though the menu is not very big and they have only limited hours compared to other places. The food quality is good and they obviously like less spicy than other Thai places we have tried. The service is great and it is a standard sit down and eat place. Usually quite packed so the ambiance is pretty casual.

Yelp
I can always count on my sister whenever it comes to good eats... Sala Thai was no different!! Our party of 4 arrived here for lunch and was so happy to see a large lot- parking should not be an issue whenever you come here. The restaurant was good in size and was already hustling and bustling at the time of our arrival. I check in and am told to that we would be seated shortly. We are seated and provided menus. This is when the staff just seems to forget about us. They are moving and grooving- cleaning tables, taking orders, bringing out food, but nobody took the time to come back and see if we were ready. I tried to be patient thinking someone would stop and when that didn't happen, I made the decision to flag someone down. Lunch purchases: *ROTI CANAI *CRISPY SQUID *PAD THAI SHRIMP *PRAWNS FRIED RICE *PAD THAI SHRIMP- togo Food: Roti was good, really good! I liked the balance of crisp areas and slightly fluffy thicker edges. Curry provided for dipping just seemed a little shady. The crispy squid was the worst item of the meal- thick, oily, and overly battered. A few of the larger chunks actually seemed like it could be a bit undercooked and the dipping sauce was not good. Don't expect the typical sweet & sour sauce here, I think it might have been plum?? The pad Thai and fried rice was phenomenal- flavorful, texture of noodles/rice was cooked to perfection, and the food was not oily. 3.5 stars overall but the food in itself is so much more. Not only was our party initially forgotten but we had to make requests for refills, & the meal was lightweight rushed. Obviously to compensate for the large flow patrons that continued to come through Sala Thai's doors. I'd come back again but will pass on the calamari and hope for better service.

Yelp
Visited Sala Thai near closing time on a Friday night. Restaurant was packed but was able to be seated within a couple minutes. Ordered the vegetarian pad see ew with mild spice (default) and it was bland. I had to add soy sauce and chili flakes and then it was much better. Service was very good!
google avatar

Wesley T.

Yelp
Sala Thai is an excellent Thai restaurant. My friends came here on a Sunday afternoon and got seated immediately. The ambiance was lively and the restaurant was clean. The service was good and were prompt with ordering. I got the Pad See Ew with beef and tofu and it was a 10/10! The noodles had a nice soft texture and a strong stir fry flavor. It felt like the noodles were melting in my mouth when I ate it. The beef was extremely juicy and was the highlight of the dish for me. The broccoli brought that crunchy texture, which compliments the soft noodles. The only let down was the tofu (which I ordered as an extra protein, as it was dry and didn't have any flavor cooked into it. I also got to try some of my friend's Pad Thai, and it was a 7/10. While it does taste good at the start, it didn't feel that different to other Pad Thai's I had, and I feel like I would have gotten tired of it after a few bites. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. It is reasonably priced and brings a lot of flavor!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a group of friends and it was a bit busy. Took about 5 minutes to get seated. I got the Pad Sew Ew with beef. Any additional on your order costs around $3 more each. The noodles were sweet and the beef was soft and tender. The broccoli was ok and had some taste from the sauce on it. Portion wise it was the perfect amount to feel satisfied.

Yelp
I love Sala Thai! We used to always order it at work for celebrations like birthdays, and I finally got to try it in the restaurant--it was amazing. I had the crispy fish with coconut rice and Thai tea with coconut milk. The service was great, and the staff was quick to take our orders. The seating area is really nice and spacious, which made for a comfortable dining experience.

Yelp
We've been going to Sala Thai for years, but we've noticed that the service and quality has gone down. They used to be so welcoming, but that is nonexistent now. Service was not friendly during our last visit. We ordered a lot of food for six people and the waitress said a snarky remark about it when she delivered the last item to our table. So what if we ordered hella food! We were celebrating birthdays! Keep your remarks to yourself. They were also annoyed when we asked for another garlic sauce for our crispy fish. We saw them talking at the front and shaking their heads. The container spilled on the table when I was trying to separate the fish. The fillets are usually in separate pieces but they were all stuck together, plus the serving dish is wavy. Of course it's going to spill if it's served on an uneven surface! We were also going to order steamed rice in addition to the crab fried rice that we ordered since my daughter is allergic to seafood. The waitress said that we can order it later if the crab fried rice isn't enough for us. I had to explain my daughter's allergy to her and she seemed pretty annoyed. Is it hard to scoop up a bowl of white rice? I can't.... The food was good, but the portions are smaller. My daughters and I also had sour stomachs in the evening. We think it might have been from the pad kee mao since that was the only entree the three of us shared. Btw, the automatically charged 18% service charge since we were a party of 6. Definitely undeserving because of the horrible service we received. Sorry, Sala Thai. We won't be back.

Yelp
Veggie Puff / Thai Samosa 2 sweet mashed potatoe, not flavorful Crab Fried Rice 2 not enough crab Pad Basil w/ Beef 3 flavorful, not enough beef Red Curry w/ Chicken 2 too liquidy, too little chicken Crispy Fish w/ Garlic Sauce 4 deep fried, juicy, sweet sauce, not garlicky enough

Yelp
Wife out of town and had enough leftovers from Easter so I went here to grab a bite. Haven't had the drunken noodle here so I thought I'd try It's a hit. Good portion and plenty of flavor. Noodles cooked just right. Beef was lean

Yelp
Great food! We LOVE their drunken noodles which we have gone back again for. Quick & great service.

Yelp
The food taste was okay. It was mid at best. The overall setup is nice - like a diner with same Thai decorations. What really disappointed me was the portion size. $16 for Pad See Eiw that was just barely enough for one person. Then $15 for the Veggie Deluxe that only had a handful of tofu. I understand that dish is a veggie-based but even that wasn't interesting. It was just unseasoned boiled Broccoli, Green beans, and Spinach hence why I am wondering why they skimped on the Tofu that would have been so nice to eat with Peanut sauce.

Allister D.

Yelp
UPDATE: Food has gotten 40-50% smaller in portion. Prices look to be about the same but the crispy fish with ginger sauce is tiny 4 pieces. They look like chicken tenders!! This is outrageous! They used to serve more than this and at bigger sizes. The roti is tiny too!! They roti used to be bigger and now they're tiny, half the size of my finger. I paid $70 for a little side of "steamed veggies" (served cold still), roti, crispy fish, pad Thai and a bowl of rice. I'm sorry Sala Thai, I used to be a huge fan of yours but now things have changed. Portions too small for high prices. I won't be back.

Yelp
I've been to this Thai restaurant ever since high school and it's still my favorite Thai restaurant in Fremont. The star of the show was undeniably their Red Curry, a perfect balance of spice and flavor that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The aromatic coconut milk rice served alongside complemented the curry impeccably, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that made each bite a true pleasure. One standout dish that stole the spotlight was the deep-fried tofu. The crispiness of the exterior gave way to a wonderfully tender interior, and the accompanying sauce was a revelation. Rich, tangy, and perfectly seasoned, it elevated the tofu to new heights, making it a must-try for any visitor. Speaking of sauces, it's worth noting that the attention to detail in their culinary creations extends to every element, especially the accompanying sauces. The flavors were nuanced and well-balanced, adding an extra layer of depth to each dish. It's clear that the chefs take pride in crafting sauces that enhance the overall dining experience. As for the coconut milk soup, it was nothing short of a comforting masterpiece. Creamy, with just the right hint of spice, it warmed both the heart and the palate. The generous inclusion of fresh ingredients showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality, and I found myself savoring every spoonful. The ambiance of the restaurant was also noteworthy, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that enhanced the overall dining experience. The attentive and friendly staff further added to the positive impression, ensuring that every aspect of the meal was enjoyable. In conclusion, this Thai restaurant has undoubtedly earned its place as a gem in the culinary scene. From the impeccable red curry to the delectable coconut milk soup, every dish reflects a commitment to excellence. If you find yourself craving authentic Thai flavors with a touch of culinary finesse, look no further - this place is a true gastronomic delight.

Yelp
Favorite Thai restaurant in Fremont! They have 3 branches in Fremont (one maybe closed though) I have usually ordered to-go here, and the order is ready in a timely manner. Some of my fav and usual order includes: Basil Fried Rice, Veg Red Curry, Veg Panang Curry, Shrimp in Sleeping Bag, Crab Fried Rice. The dishes are fresh and delicious. A must-try Thai restaurant esp in Fremont!

Yelp
The flavor is pretty spot on almost every time. Recommend it! My all-time favorite vegetarian dishes are Pad Kee Mao (Drunken noodles) and red Curry with Jasmine/ Steamed rice.

Yelp
I picked up my food to go, everything was cooked to perfection, the fish was delicious and fried just right and. Not extra greasy because it was fried. The garlic sauce was perfectly mix. The papaya salad has the perfect spice and was extremely fresh. The pineapple rice was so tasty and perfectly combined to be the perfect pairing to the fish, not to soft and cooked just right. I will come again to try as many things as I can.

Yelp
Sala Thai is hands down the best Thai restaurant in the Fremont area. The food is consistently amazing, and the service is always quick and efficient, even when the place is busy--which it often is, a clear sign that it's loved by many. My go-to order is the chicken Tom Yum soup and chicken Pad Thai, paired with their delicious Thai iced tea. This combo never fails to impress me. The flavors are authentic, and everything is prepared to perfection. If you're looking for excellent Thai cuisine, I highly recommend checking out Sala Thai. Definitely a 5-star experience every time!

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Fremont - I always say it's one of the few good spots here and everyone agrees! The food has never disappointed me and is always consistently delicious, flavorful, and generously portioned enough to take home leftovers. I've done a share mix of ordering and eating in restaurant, the vibes in here are always really nice!! The service is really great and fast too with the QR code, and they still come to ask if you need any other items. I've gone to other locations too and this one continues to reign as my favorite! The pad kee mao is my absolute fav, and if I want something else along with it I'll get basil fried rice. I also really like their mango chicken, and the roti canai is a delicious appetizer.

Yelp
My customers re quested this for lunch. I completely understand the hype! It was authentic and flavorful. I did feel the meats were a tad on the salty side but I generally don't use much in my cooking. I would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a true Thai dining experience

Yelp
Got vegetarian basil fried rice to go recently along with Tom yum soup. I found this place is overpriced and serves a smaller quantity than other Thai restaurants around. The basil fried rice dish I got had literally only 3 pieces of tofu in it. I am quite disappointed in the quantity and ratio of ingredients in the food, especially because competitor restaurants have better proportions for similar cost. The Tom yum soup was wonderful in flavor. Also had only 3 pieces of tofu. Service was also quite slow for to-go orders. I am not going again and do not recommend. Other notes: - Lots of parking available in the plaza nearby. - Ambience seemed nice, people seemed to be having fun.

Yelp
I love the peanut chicken. It still tastes great and this restaurants consistency is something you can count on in this uncertain world. Prices are up and entree portions are now 1/2 of what they were. Seems like it should be one, or the other, not both. Rice costs extra. We used to order 2-4 different entrees and we'd all share. Now it's not enough to do that any more.

Yelp
My friend and I arrived here around 1 pm, and we were glad to arrive that this time... PARKING: There's a great parking lot outside the restaurant, so the only worry is the long wait times. AMBIENCE: Awesome ambience that is spacious and welcomes all groups from families, couples, and parties. While my friend and I were dining, there was party of 10 hosting a birthday party in the middle of the dining room. SERVICE: We arrived at a great time since we were sat immediately before the huge lunch rush; everyone after us had to queue up on a waitlist. The staff are on top of it with bussing tables and delivering food from the kitchen. There wasn't much interaction from the servers other than being served water, plates, and to-go boxes. They've automated a QR code, so you can select and pay through their Toast Ordering System. ORDERS: My friend and I did a mini family style - Crunchy Green Beans: Yes! Got to have your veggies! Love the crunch and deep fry from the coating around the green beans. However, it was dry and no seasoning- needed salt at least. They pair the veggies with ketchup, which was interesting but a sweet addition. I was hoping it would be similar to Szechuan green beans with some spice but sadly not. Still delicious though. - Paradise Noodles / Pad Thai with Crab Meat: sweet light noodles with lots of egg for protein and lots of sauce. Really good with savory notes from the tofu and veggies. Super chewy noodles. - Pad See Ew: I always order this at a new Thai place. The noodles were executed well. Great chewy flat rice noodles with lots of sauce to make it sweet, which definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. The brocolis were cooked so well and absorbed the sweet juices from the noodles. The dishes were great leftovers for dinner! RATING: A memorable and top tier Thai place in Fremont with high quality food and staff.

Yelp
We've come here multiple times. Before Covid, the price was very affordable but after Covid, the price has gone up to normal (or a little bit expensive) side. You place order online and they'll bring food over to your table. What we ordered: - Crispy fish with sweet garlic sauce: $18.95 this one goes really well with Pad Thai. The fish is scripy, moist, flaky. It's on the sweet side. - Pad Thai: $15.95 very delicious and generous portion - Pineapple fried rice: $16.95 just okay, don't recommend - Basil fried rice: yummy, flavorful. Preferred this one over pineapple fried rice. Food came pretty quick and service was decent.

Yelp
I've been coming to Sala Thai for years and this is my go to Thai restaurant in the east bay. They have 2 other locations but this one is the best in my opinion. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is spacious so I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes even when I come during prime time. Service is quick, staff are friendly and they have a large selection on their menu. A must for me every time are angel wings, seafood tom yum soup, crab fried rice, chicken larb and Thai ice coffee. Angel wings: Nice crunch on the outside and stuffed with pork meat on the inside with a side of Thai sweet chili sauce. Seafood Tom yum: this can be ordered by the bowl or hot pot. If ordered by the hot pot it can serve up to 4 people. It comes out on a metal hot pot and is full of mushroom, shrimp, fish and tomatoes. It's a good amount of sour. Crab fried rice: packed with flavor and a good amount of crab mixed in. Chicken larb: you can order the spice level from mild, medium to spicy. Chicken larb is grounded chicken and has lime juice on it and is really good with rice.

Yelp
*HAIR IN FOOD!!** Came here for the first time. Anyway, we ordered the drunken noodles, yellow curry and side of white rice. The service was sub par, and then we started eating our food only to find a short piece of black hair with a white tip. Absolutely disgusting. I gave it to the owner and he did not even apologize. Instead, he sent his server to bring us another bowl of white rice, I didn't even ask for another one, especially if it's the same cook, and I am already nauseous from seeing it and knowing I could have ate it too! Poor service. Poor quality. Just garage. And the ambiance, it doesn't exist. Trash everywhere. Dirty floors and dirty bathroom.
