Disappointing Experience
I wish I could say something different. I've wanted to try this place for years, and we finally stopped in last night while staying in town due to wildfire displacement. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations.
We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and were told they wouldn't seat us because they were closing soon. I explained it was our first time and that we'd eat quickly -- we just wanted to see what the place was all about. They agreed, and we asked for a few quick recommendations and their signature dishes.
We ordered the Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup for me and Pun Klip with Laab for my wife. The Pun Klip was fantastic; for a moment, we thought we'd found a hidden gem. Sadly, the rest of the food was incredibly underwhelming--and that's putting it kindly. I've had Thai food across the U.S. and Canada (my favorite cuisine), and this was easily the most disappointing. The dishes were bland and lacked the flavor, balance, and depth Thai food is known for.
It also felt like the staff was eager to close--they hovered around tables and subtly nudged people out, which didn't make for a relaxed meal. I was genuinely hungry, so I ate most of it, thinking maybe I was being too critical. But we talked about it afterward, and both felt the same--it wasn't good. I grabbed a burger down the street just to reset my palate.
I don't leave reviews like this often, but I hope the owner takes it as constructive feedback. The Pun Klip shows potential, but there's room to improve on the rest--best of luck.
