I’m not sure what was more beautiful, the view or my date (yes my wife reads these). Salem Glen is a certified, GUARANTEED great date night. Gonna keep this place in the back pocket during the summer and fall to be sure. The wine selection was impressive and the pizza rocked! Is it the cheapest night? No, but as an occasional treat it delivers. Will most definitely be back

I came with my mother for the holiday cookie & wine paring. I wasn’t sure it would be much fun- wow!! We loved it. The service was good, all the cookies delicious and homemade. The wines were crazy good. It’s hard to pick just one to bring home. We also had lunch while we were there. The turkey sandwich with Swiss on a croissant with rosemary & heirloom tomatoes. Such delicious food. We had the side salad with it. It was an explosion of flavor. The spinach & Artichoke dip was wonderful too. Not a single thing we didn’t absolutely love. Such high quality food. I can’t wait for the warmer summer weather to sit outside with nature and sip the delicious wines. It’s a bit of heaven on earth.

We were looking to go to another winery in the area and discovered Salem Glen. Such a quaint place nestled in the countryside a few miles outside of Rochester. Super friendly and helpful staff, tailoring to every guest. Highly recommend if you are looking for a lovely place to relax and unwind.

Love this place! Always enjoyable to sit and sip some wine, try a cider flight and nibble on something. Lovely flowers in summer and a classy, but casual atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Google
Great wine and food. Visited in the winter so we weren’t able to enjoy the outside area. The inside was cozy and quiet though.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Salem Glen on Saturday! The building is gorgeous and cozy with plenty of sunlight. Everything tasted amazing - we did flights and bought a bottle when we needed a refill. I loved the crab apple and turkey dip ciders. The service was great - super knowledgeable and kind staff. It was great for a girls day! Plenty of parking, excited to come back in the Summer!!

Yelp
Great selection of unique wines and Ciders from their orchard & vineyards. Small selection of eats from their everyday menu, but they have a wonderful wood fire pizza oven that they fire up every Friday. The pizzas are amazing. Definitely need to try them along with the wines and ciders.

Yelp
So fun! We didn't even know this was in our backyards in Rochester until we were invited by friends for a couples night out. Wood oven pizza + vineyard + local, fresh wine = perfection. This place is open year-round but nothing beats a nice summer night with good eats, laughter, and drinking. The pizza was on-point - ordered both the pepperoni and margherita. The char added character and the pizza was filling. One pizza is probably the right size for one person so be sure to order one for each and do mix and match as needed. Love the experience and look forward to taking friends and family here to enjoy.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way back to Rochester from Austin and the family that owns this place are so very hospitable and friendly. We came because we saw pics of pizza on Yelp but it turns out they make pizzas only in the summer. That just means we'll have to come in the summer! In the meantime, we enjoyed a charcuterie which was not on a board (aesthetics are important too) but on a glass plate. We did the red wine flight and it was yummy. It's not so much bold and rich but more medium to light-bodied with strong hints of cherries and other fruits. The Petite Pearl and Pulsar Red were our favorites along with Dark Skies which does resemble a port from Porto. I give it four stars because I wish there were more signs to point the way to the place, at the end of the street and where to park, where the entrance is. The building is well-structured but could have a warmer ambience with more plants and something to separate the patrons. All in all, it's a nice getaway from Rochester and makes for a good date place!

Yelp
Good winery with a good selection of food items. Friendly service and priced appropriately.

Yelp
We happened upon this winery on a weekend road trip and were really charmed. The wine tasting provided a nice variety of options, and the service was helpful and friendly. There was a lovely arts and craft fair on the grounds that weekend which only added to the outstanding experience. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Adorable winery tucked away just outside of Rochester. They have a great variety of wines, plenty of snacks and yummy food, and tons of space to spread out outside and enjoy the weather. One of the owners walked around and asked how we liked everything and the service was very friendly all around.

Yelp
We visited on a Thursday evening and it was delightful. Only exterior seating was open (thanks to Covid) but we didn't mind because we preferred being outside. The Marquette wine is delicious for a dry, full bodied red. The cider is a great refreshing choice that isn't overly sweet like most ciders. Beer drinkers would appreciate this option. The cheese plate, while rather small was well put together. Definitely only enough for 2 people. Service was great and the views are stunning.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are new to the Rochester area, he is African American and I think that fact may be relevant to my story. My parents came to visit from Wisconsin and we were all excited to try this winery because it is very close to my new home and visiting winery's is something we really enjoy. (Side note, my mom is disabled and has to walk with a cane and there is no handicap accessible parking for anyone wondering) The wine was very good, the environment is beautiful however I firmly believe we were profiled. It began raining so we got our number and sat inside but when the rain lifted my parents wanted to move to a table outside to see the beautiful property, upon saying we were going outside and bringing our number and glasses what I assume was the manager chased us out when she saw us starting to sit at a table she pretended to be "looking for rainbows". I think she assumed we were leaving without paying. This was an uncomfortable situation that made us feel very unwelcome. It's unfortunate because I would love to have visited more but for a little bit further of a drive four daughters winery actually made us feel at home. Edited to add: We were not the first table to move outside or the last as more tables moved after us. However we were the only table to be followed outside and "checked on."

Yelp
I can't say enough about what a lovely venue this was for my daughter's Bridal Shower. All of the ladies enjoyed the wine and tea. The event coordinator, as well as the owners and other staff, worked with me on everything to make it a very memorable experience for everyone.. especially the future bride!

Yelp
Here for an event. Wine and bingo. Huge turnout, not enough people to serve tasters of the wine. As well as check out. They are using the honor system for paying for your products. Cute place, decent wines. Bring on the Bingo.

Yelp
This winery is OK but could be made better with something other than mowed paths. They could do a lot to beautify the surroundings by using mulch, stepping stones, and low native plantings instead of all that grass. I'd love to wander thru the vineyard but not if it's just a mowed grass path. It would make it more of a peaceful destination, eliminate a lot of mowing time, and cut down on the annoying noise pollution for the neighbors.

Yelp
What a treat to have a little winery so close to Rochester. This location is very pretty and I just love the space. The owner was ever so kind to open up just for me and a friend as we arrived and it wasn't normal hours but she let us get a glass of wine and sit outside on the deck. It was just a lovely day and a fun place to share a glass of wine with a friend.

Yelp
Live down the road from this wonderful winery! St. Pepin and Coyote Hill are a few of my favorites.

Yelp
I went to Salem Glen Winery on Saturday. I had a wine tasting on the visit. The sample size for the tasting was nice. The Cranberry wine was pretty good. The ice wine I tried that day was the best by far. The taste was good, but I didn't care for the smell. I thought the staff was great; really knowledgeable. I would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
This is the absolute cutest place. Went to the winery 0.5k and had a blast. Everyone working the event was super helpful and kind- and also very knowledgeable. Even got a couple of bottles to go

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were forced to roam the city of Rochester for a day, from which we heard from many, is a very unexciting and dead place to be in. To say the least, we were both dreading it. I found this place on yelp and tripadvisor so we decided to check it out. First of all, absolutely beautiful setting in the country. Lots of hills and land. I ended up doing a full wine tasting for only 7 dollars! Very modern red, rose and white wines with a little twist of their own. I loved the Brianna and the Fireside Red. The tour was short as the vineyard and winery is small, but pleasant nonetheless. Very beautiful location, friendly staff and family run business. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through or looking for something to do in Rochester.

Yelp
Great winery, definitely one my of my favorites that I've been to. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. I would say the pricing is pretty average. The building is very nice, I really enjoyed the environment in general. Also, there was a nice variety of wines to choose from.

Yelp
Great wine variety and most of the wines are really good. No food, but great cheese and cracker, chocolate and bread plates. Very friendly down to earth service.

Yelp
Dustin always provides the perfect relaxing afternoon. Good music, great outdoor space, quiet places for conversation. Why haven't you left yet?

Yelp
This is a great hidden gem in Rochester. I'm consistently surprised by the quality of wines that come out of this small winery in Rochester. They have an excellent variety of reds and whites to choose from. The tasting room is charming--a beautiful wood building with a nice patio for summer days. We usually just get the tasting menu when we go. It is usually the same with a couple of substitutions each time we go. The wines are also very reasonable in price (~$15-20/bottle). My favorite wines include Cygnus, a solid white wine, Brianna, a pineapple-ey white, and Marquette, a nice dark red. They have a couple of fortified wines which are an interesting twist. Both Fireside Red and Dark Skies are excellent. They also offer a limited food selection with bread and cheese boards. Apparently, a wood-fired oven for pizzas is in the works, as is a telescope observatory. This is a quaint, local establishment that is always fun to go to.

Yelp
Wonderful local winery. Enjoyed talking to the winemaker/owner/viticulturist, who is passionate about using Minnesota grapes.

Yelp
I've visited multiple times, but have only stayed once. For every visit, we wait around for staff to even appear. The one time we did actually stick around for a staff member to make an appearance, we waited over 10 minutes (we only stayed that long because it was our first time there). After ordering a wine tasting, our server kept disappearing making us wait 10-15 minutes between each wine to even tell her we were ready for our next wine on the tasting. Most of the times we have shown up, we wait over 10 minutes for someone from staff to even appear that we just end up leaving to go somewhere else that actually has an attentive staff. Some of the wines are very good, but it isn't worth it with the terrible (and lack of) service. I will not be venturing out to the middle of nowhere again to have this bad of service.

Yelp
Once or twice a year I go up to Minnesota to visit with family and keep in touch with everyone. This year, my parents decided to watch my daughter for the day, giving me and my lady a day to go out and enjoy ourselves kid free. Wine is not my thing, but my lady really enjoys it. So decided to check out the local winerys. First stop was Salem Glen. I had read the website and saw they were open, googled directions. It was a little bit off the beaten trail, and when we got there, it didn't seem like they were open. I walked around a little bit, then left. I called them from a few miles down the road, and they said they were open. So we went back. The Vineyard and Shop are both located on what is an old farmstead. Its a nice relaxing atmosphere. The owner was running around doing some chores, and his mother was tending the shop. She was very helpful and very proud of her sons business. We did the normal tasting, then decided to buy 2 bottles. Brianna and Marquette Rose. The wines tasted good, the service was friendly. The only knocks I had, was that it was a bit off the beaten trail and sort of hard to find. Secondly, we were the only ones there at the time and wine tasting is sort of a nice social opportunity. Since nobody else was there, it was a little bit weird/odd sitting in the tasting room with nobody else other than our host. But if you enjoy wine, and want to go for a nice drive and enjoy the scenery, take a trip out to Salem Glen, you should enjoy it.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to check out this winery on a Friday night and meet another couple. We decided to meet out there as they advertised wood-fired pizzas on Friday night so we could get a bite to eat and try their wine. When we arrived we had to park out in a field, which was fine and walked up to the building past the area where they were making wood-fired pizzas. We sat outdoors on the patio unsure what we were supposed to do. Nobody greeted us and after several minutes one of the people in our party went indoors to find out how this all worked. We realized we needed to go indoors to to sample or get a glass of wine and we quickly learned that you need to make reservations in advance on-line for the pizzas. We were very disappointed and started making plans for where we go to eat from here. A little after 7 p.m. we heard one of the workers say that they had a lot of pizza dough left. By 7:30 p.m. they "allowed" us to order pizza -- as it sounded as if about half of their reservations did not show up. I did really enjoy the wine that I sampled (Rose') and the 2 glasses that I drank (Brianna). In fact, my husband and I have purchased their wines in our local liquor store. It felt a bit like we were begging for the pizzas and if they still had half of their crusts left I question whether or not this is the best way to go about selling pizza. They also seem to rely on the honor system with how much wine you have had allowing you to just get as much as you want and then paying before you leave by telling them what you had. I think they could improve the service by maybe having more of a wait-type staff -- mostly in the summer months when people like to sit on the patio. They have a really good product and I would like to see them successful. Not sure how soon I would go back, but definitely like the wine.
