Saturday Morning Fire Severely Damages Rosemary & Beauty Queen | Eater Nashville

"A new neighborhood Italian from Nashville restaurateurs Bill and Sam Darsinos opens today at 329 Donelson Pike. I learned the two-floor dining room features white oak woodwork, 25-foot ceilings, leather-wrapped banquettes, and a heated, covered outdoor patio that will be open year-round. The menu includes starters like arancini, meatballs, and an antipasto platter, with larger plates such as bucatini lamb ragout, pistachio-crusted salmon, and various 12-inch pizzas. Salento’s will be open seven days a week for dinner from 3 to 9 p.m., with weekday lunch arriving in mid-February." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

I have dined here 3 times and all experiences have been 10/10. Danielle has been my server the last 2 visits and I don’t think I’d have quite as a wonderful experience if it weren’t for her! Short rib & gnocchi as ABSOLUTELY amazing!!

Google
We went to Salento Italia for my sister’s rehearsal dinner, and it was absolutely perfect. The servers, especially Danielle and Jason, were phenomenal — so attentive, personable, and genuinely made the evening feel special. The food and drinks were outstanding, and the service was truly top-notch. It was the perfect setting for such a meaningful night. 10/10, highly recommend!

We are now obsessed with Salento! We ordered the cobia fish special and it was delicious! One of the best dishes I’ve had in Nashville in a while! The kale salad was also a favorite. Can’t wait to go back and try more things 😋

Google
Salento- you won’t just happen into this location. It is a bit hidden. My overall experience at Salento Italia earned high marks for the food, making it a great choice for refined Italian meal in Nashville. My dish overview of lobster ravioli was Rich flavors with a delicate seafood, sweetness paired with creamy tomato based sauce typical of upscale, Italian preparation. The restaurant is cozy and family owned with a warm ambience that transitions beautifully from happy hour to dinner.

Google
Celebrated with family here today. I had chicken Parmesan. Family ate Pappardelle Bolognese, Solento steak frites, and Gnocchi and short ribs. For appetizers we had beef carpaccio and Arancini. The waiter was personable and provided suggestions and answered questions about the menu. Really enjoyed the meal.

Google
Came here three times and honestly, I love this place! So elegantly crafted joint, the ambiance is pretty awesome, super romantic with two levels to accommodate any group size. First time I came in, ordered an Old Fashion (The team at the bar make some pretty awesome drinks) and went straight to dinner ordering the Broccolini pasta light on the sauce with grilled chicken on top! Salento Italia should name this the “The Valdi” dish! Flavors were all amazing with the perfect portion, I went with the small and stuffed my face lol. Look how beautiful the plate looks. Can’t imagine the bigger portion. For desert, I had the Budino. Another great creation by this wonderful place. Second time I came in ordered the Bianca pizza and I think people my like these flavors. I will try a different one to compare. I will be straight, not my cup of tea in contrast to other Biancas I have had elsewhere. For dinner, I ordered the Gnocchi & Short Rib. Food was good but my expectation of this dish was far and beyond to what I thought it was. It was shredded which caught me by surprise. You think of “short rib” and expect something else is my point. I would definitely rename this dish, in my opinion or put those small fine print at the bottom lol. Many years ago, was told by a Sicilian, you don’t go to Italian restaurants to eat steak, rib, etc. Third time I came in, for Expresso Martinis. Another great drink from the awesome team at the bar! Aside from that, it’s a wonderful place you will enjoy a great meal. Adam, thank you for being so kind. This is a Valdi approved joint

Google
We made a reservation for our anniversary and asked for an intimate space where we could talk. They delivered! They put us in the most quiet corner booth, upstairs, and we able to watch the sunset. Delicious Chianti. Great, attentive service. We split two apps, each had a side salad and split an entree. We recommend the appetizer with the fried risotto and the chicken marsala! Too full for dessert. But the best part—-we walked out with a bill just under $100, which is hard to accomplish for a date night. We will be back.

Google
First time visiting. Food was very good. Wished there was some type of bread accompanying the dishes. Liked the ability to vary portion sizes during the ordering of the meal. Sat upstairs, not as 'cozy' as the downstairs seemed. Will definitely return. Consider making reservations.

Yelp
Massive WOW. The gold standard for food and service for Donelson/Hermitage/Old Hickory. A true downtown dining experience in the burbs. Our service was perfect mix of timing, easy & friendly candor. Setting was comfortable with a great ambiance with lighting and low noise level. Fried calamari had a great crispy breading while not being greasy; we really enjoyed the rustic grilled focaccia that is very much worth the carb count. The beef carpaccio was a little bland where I think I expected more balsamic kick but the meat was high quality. Dinner entrees were all stunners. The Chicken Marsala had amazing flavor with tender, perfectly prepared chicken. The Mushroom Orecchiette is a very delectable, rich dish as was the Strozzapreti with Pesto cream. What is super nice is that they offer two sizes of servings on the pasta dishes! Great wine options, food portion & presentation, and stellar service! Would be a great trip cap for folks heading out of town along with super neighborhood find for the permanent folks.

Yelp
I can't recommend Salento enough!! 5 stars across the board. My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday night and were seated right away. We sat in the upstairs dining area, which very open and comfortable. The staff was so welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and drink menu. They made this such a great experience! We started with the house-made Rustic Grilled Focaccia with olive-basil tapenade... wow. You HAVE to try it. For my entrée, I had the Chicken Marsala, and it was perfection. The parmesan polenta literally melts in your mouth. My boyfriend ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and loved every bite. If you enjoy cocktails, definitely try one of their seasonal options. I had the Notorious F.I.G. and I'm already planning to get it again! Such a great dining experience and the perfect spot for a date night.

Yelp
Service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the all around vibe of this place was so cool. Shoutout to the server with glasses and blonde hair he's killing it and he knows his stuff. Was a great and fairly priced dinner for an all around great experience. I will definitely be back. I suggest you give it a try too.

Yelp
Love this place. The service is always efficient and the food is delicious! You just have to get there early for decent parking but it's worth the wait. Loud enough to hear your company at the table but don't try to take a work call it's not the spot for that. It's in a cute area with other places to eat.

Yelp
Went to Nashville last week, and our first meal of the day was at Salento Italia. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and super clean. All of the workers at the restaurant were super friendly and attentative. We ordered a sausage pizza from their special menu, which was delicious. Great flavor, and although I'm not a thin crust fan, I was pleasantly surprised with the crust of the pizza. We also got the calamari to share. fried well, not greasy at all. For my entree, I ordered the lobster ravioli. 6 decently sized raviolis and great sauce. I ordered it with extra sauce as I like my pastsas saucy. Wasn't charged extra for the extra sauce like some other places that I've been to. Our server Danielle was fabulous. Super friendly, super attentive. Gave informed details about the various dishes and suggestions based on our preferences. Even split our checks for us 6 different ways so that we could each use our own cards to make payment. Offered to pack our left overs up for us instead of just bringing us containers to do it ourselves. Food and service were so great that we went back 2 days later to get the sausage pizza again. Side note... tiramasu comes in a huge bowl and the gelato comes as a three-scoop serving; chocolate/vanilla/pasticho. The vanilla is the best flavor out of the three according to the people that had it.

Yelp
Cute restaurant spot! Plenty of food options including vegetarian and gluten free choices. The food definitely feels of high quality, a tad mild on the seasoning side, but I'd definitely be back and try other dishes too! The Parmesan risotto and the Mista salad were really tasty! They do half sizes on pastas and salads which allow you to try a few dishes which is nice.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm addicted to this spot! We go weekly! Very nice happy hour. It's cute and romantic! The staff is AMAZING! We see Jeremy, Scott, and Brad are the bartenders and all very nice! All around great spot. Now the food is DELICIOUS!! I have not had a menu item I don't like. Have brought people here and they all love it! There will always be money in the budget for Salento!!

Yelp
This is like my cheers. I haven't had a bad time at this place. Even the dish I didn't care for was good, just not my speed. The drinks are good, happy hour is everyday from 3:00-5:30pm everyday except Monday when it's all day! The staff is nice, restaurant is clean and chill. Music isn't too loud. Try the grapefruit Negroni, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We came into town for an early flight and found this jewel just down the street from our hotel.... I went classic with the lasagna. Delicious! The portion was perfect size . My friend ordered a tiramisu for our table to split. It was so authentic!! They make everything in house! Great atmosphere as well!

Yelp
Tucked away in the Donelson suburb of Nashville, this quaint location was a pleasant surprise. We both ordered the chicken parm. Huge portions of chicken and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Very peaceful ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed eating Monday night dinner here. We will definitely be coming back and trying other things! Visit Salento Italia when you are on this side of Nashville. You too will be pleasantly surprised!

Yelp
First time in Salento Italia, but not the last! My wife and i stopped in for dinner this week and what a pleasant surprise. Just caught the end of happy hour for a glass of wine and some Calamari. The calamari was very lightly beaded and cooked to perfection! I had the half portion braised short rib and gnocchi and it was fantastic! My wife had the chicken Marsala also very good. We sat in the bar area and our server was excellent . The food came out hot and efficiently. Great atmosphere, nice patio are can't wait for some warmer weather to enjoy another great meal on the patio.

Yelp
We went out for dinner on Valentine's weekend which we never do... but we didn't have our kids and wanted a night out! We had reservations and were seated shortly after we arrived. We were seated upstairs. It seemed as if they sat several tables upstairs at one time because it did take a hot second to get drink and appetizer orders in. Once everyone got greeted service returned to normal and we had great service. I ordered the Skipping Class for Candi and my husband had a Peroni. We also ordered the Beef Carpaccio and it was very good! It was missing a little acid but we were able to add a little lemon and top it with the capers that were mixed in with the arugula. It was paired with the Grilled Focaccia and it was delish! For dinner I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and my husband had Linguini de Mare with a side Caesar salad. Both of our meals were fabulous! We were both very happy with our dishes! I did order the Tiramisu to go! I was sooo full but I love a good Tiramisu so I couldn't pass it up! Great experience and will absolutely be back!

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is a cute multistory building. The server was super nice and did a fantastic job adjusting our dishes to be dietary friendly! He also recommended more places to visit while we were in Nashville. The food was very tasty! We had the Tortellini, Rotini, and Kale Salad. Please check out if you can!

Yelp
Donelson is on the come up and Salento is the main piece of evidence of this fact. I didn't have any expectations so I can't say they were exceeded but had a great experience. Parking is easy and plentiful, one of the pros to dining in Donelson. We came on a Friday night around 7:30, there was no wait and we were seated on the enclosed patio which was so warm and not too bright like the main dining room. We didn't indulge in any adult beverages, came strictly to eat. The arancini was delicious and I usually do not care for risotto balls. We both agreed the arriabata sauce really set the dish off. Don't be turned off by the goat cheese, you could barely tell it was in there. I ordered the salmon and it was good, not great. I wish they wouldn't have been stingy with the asparagus. Service was decent. I would definitely return to try one of their pasta dishes and happy hour.

Yelp
So impressed with Salento and so disappointed it took me this long to go! First of all, the restaurant is gorgeous. It is pretty loud so keep that in mind (I think upstairs may be a bit quieter!) but it's beautiful! Charlie was our server and he was incredible. We went for my birthday dinner and he helped make it very special! His recommendations were on point and everything was fantastic. We had the meatballs and focaccia to start. Both incredible and the focaccia was perfect. For my meal, I had the lasagna and it was some of the best lasagna I've had outside of Italy! Can't wait to go back! This will be a staple in my rotation.

Yelp
I had another amazing experience at Salento tonight! We went for my Mom's birthday and we were so happy that Danielle was taking care of us! She's our favorite and so sweet and made my Mom feel extra special on her birthday! (Side note: Danielle is always AMAZING but kicked it up for my Mom on her bday...lol) The food is consistently delicious!! We have never had a bad or disappointing experience at Salento...EVERY SINGLE PERSON that works there is wonderful and will give you an AMAZING experience...NEVER disappointed!!!!

Yelp
Salento is a nice space with good service. I only wish their dishes were more consistent. We have dined here two times in the last few weeks. I love the small plate portion options. From the appetizers, the octopus is great. Calamari is flavorful and cooked properly with a very tasty tomato sauce (but please stop skimping on the peppers). The focaccia is really good but for the price the portion is small. Fabulous finds - the meatballs, short rib gnocchi, and the lasagna. Disappointments - Chicken Parm was very overcooked as were the lamb chops and the bed of risotto underneath. We asked for medium rare and got a well done chops. Risotto had no bite. They seem to excel at traditional pasta but struggle on the pricier dishes.

Jerri J.

Yelp
The food was good but the waiter really had a sassy attitude that put a damper on our experience. All the other staff were great, though.

Yelp
I bought a large salad with grilled chicken... it cost $21 and I was given a tiny amount of spinach and a tiny amount of cold chicken. Complete waste of money and didn't even taste good
google avatar

Bre D.

Yelp
Good: arancini- never had it with a sweetness before- since they put honey in theirs. I liked it! Desserts- (actually the best food items we are) Affogato, tiramisu and budino were all good! Hugo spritz- tasty, refreshing, great on a hot night. Needs work: focaccia- half the pieces were burnt Mushroom orecchiette with chicken- not seasoned at all. No flavor profiles other than cream (didn't even taste the truffle)...needed to salt it. Also, the chicken seemed like an afterthought, not cooked with the pasta sauce, but blackened, dry, sliced and put on top (reminded me more of chicken you would add to a salad). My companions said their pasta dishes were also unseasoned and one said the gnocchi was just ok. Nashville has amazing food, need a little more from Salento. I won't be deterred though, it's lovely inside and will be back to try other menu items (fingers crossed).

Yelp
First time visit last night for an early dinner before going to the Grand Ole Opry. From the moment we were greeted at the door until we left, everyone was friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was contemporary industrial with a lot of plants to warm up the space. We started with happy hour. My Limoncello martini was excellent as was my friend's Italian margarita. We shared an order of bruschetta that was magnificent! Entrees of chicken parmigiana, spaghetti and meatballs, and the kale salad were excellent too. Go check them out and ask for Charlie. He took great care of us, in spite of the fact that we live out of state!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. The ambiance is a perfect crossover between upscale and casual. It's a great option for a date night. We started off with the focaccia and arancini. You MUST get both. This was incredibly and packed so much good flavor. For our mains, we got the pappardelle bolognese and margarita pizza. You can tell how fresh the food is when enjoying these main courses. The pizza was perfectly cooked in the brick oven. We ended our meal with to-go tiramisu which did not disappoint. If you are looking to get out of Nashville's craziness you should 100% check this place out. The service is great and plenty of parking!
google avatar

Regina G.

Yelp
Tonight was my second time to come to Salento and I absolutely love it! My friend and I shared the Calamari and she got the orecchiette and I got the bolognese. And we shared the tiramisu. I love that you can get smaller portions...when I went with my friend the first time, we both got a small portion of a pasta and shared them together! My friend loved her orecchiette and I liked my bolognese (I did think it could've used a little more seasoning.) But the noodles, themselves, were great! I asked for a side of their marinara sauce and it was delicious! I saw a few dishes of their chicken Parmesan served with that sauce, so I think that will definitely be the next dish I try! The ambiance is warm and inviting...the opened up the shades around sunset, which added a delightful layer to the atmosphere. Service was attentive and kind! Can't wait to be back again soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Overall a good experience. A few nit picky things and one bad. The pasta doesn't have enough salt when preparing but that is typical of restaurant pasta everywhere. I understand why. Let me start with the bad. My wife had the roasted cauliflower spaghetti had way too much lemon and three of said the same thing. The appetizers were very good. The chicken part was very good as well. One of our friends had the Gnocchi that I didn't get a picture of and she loved it. Let me say the cocktails were amazing. They do not hold back on the booze. We want to come back for pizza.

Yelp
My third trip to Salento Italia & so happy to have this gem in my neighborhood! Great food, stellar service, vibrant atmosphere and generous pours. I recommend the grapefruit Negroni! It's so good!

Yelp
We had no idea if this place would be good. Coming from out of town, we wanted a nice place to have dinner. This place exceeded our expectations! The food, the atmosphere and our waitress Danielle were absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I had really hyped this up in my head. I love Darfons and have never had a bad meal. So while this isn't Darfons, it was good. Just not great. Service was good overall and quick, though interestingly our waiter never asked if we enjoyed our food or needed anything. We ordered beef carpaccio, a mushroom cream pasta, lasagna, and short rib gnocchi. The flavors were good and fresh overall with one theme... lack of salt! We are not over salters but expect salt to be incorporated into the dish so this was very disappointing. I hope it was an off night and I will definitely be back to try other things! Despite the seasoning, the carpaccio was buttery and delicious and the gnocchi were perfect little pillows! The only other downside is bench seating! A guy was shaking his leg and shaking the entire bench. Not a good design! But just be sure to get a chair! I would say if you like fresh Italian, try it out!

Yelp
Today was my 6th visit since they opened. This place is a real local gem. Every dish we have tried has been fresh and flavorful. The staff are very friendly and the food comes out in a timely manner. We were told that they had just updated the menu, adding some dishes like Lambchops and Lasagna along with others. The interior is classy and relaxing. They have a full bar and free parking. I would probably go for lunch 1 weekend a month but they aren't open for lunch on the weekends. They are open for lunch on the weekdays and dinner 7 days a week. It's worth a drive from Nashville or the surrounding area for this great Italian spot. To finish the review, you can't go wrong with the Butterscotch Budino or fresh Tiramasu for dessert. Wow!!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent ambience, warm and inviting. Our server Daniele was very engaging and made great suggestions. This unpretentious restaurant offers a daily happy hour with wine and pizza specials. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Our family enjoyed our first time visit to Salento Italia Restaurant. Dining is screened outdoor patio, main level/bar level, and upstairs. We chose upstairs for more quiet conversation. Bright, modern, hip décor. Friendly, attentive service. Brothers Bill and Sam Darsinos continue to excel as restaurant operators. We made a reservation and seated on time. Large groups are accommodated with notice. Enjoyed small Caesar Salad, Mista Salad, Mussels over bed of Spaghetti, Braised Short Ribs with Gnocchi, Lasagna Bolognese, and sauteed spinach Italian-style. Washed down with a few Moretti lager beers. Everyone in our party would order their dish again. Menu is simple and something for everyone. I suspect that the staff assigned to the upper dining room are worn out tired by the end of the evening. Private parking lot. Pluses: * Every dish was delightful * Open for lunch, Mon-Fri * Beer, wine and drink menu with prices * While a small selection, the Happy Hour menu is honored in the dining rooms, 3:00 - 5:30 PM every day Small Gripes: * Most disappointed no draught brewskies * How could this classic dish be missing from the menu: Linguine with White Clam Sauce / Linguine alle Vongole???

Yelp
Staff- First of all, I would love to say thank you to our wonderful, amazing waitress, Miss Daniella, I believe , she was just awesome and sweet. Food- Pizza :was great very good would order again my bf loved it *Lobster ravioli - I liked it , and was filled with lobster, but I don't think I would order again, I absolutely love fresh made pasta (which they do). This lobster ravioli in particular just wasn't my favorite compared to others I have had in the past . *Cheese Risotto - Nice and creamy *Broccolini- fresh and cooked nicely Star of the SHOW ! That cheesecake baebay !!! Was the best fresh strawberries drizzle was soo good. We ate that up very quickly , it was amazing. Ambiance- very nice set up , I will be back to try other stuff and will get more cheesecake. And will be asking for the same waitress.

Yelp
Nashville, TN. This restaurant was recommended to me by the waiter at Darfons. The food here is terrific and I know for sure I shall be returning. The ambiance is unpretentious, there are even booths if you wish. We went for the patio which was just a tad more upscale using the term loosely. Our waiter was helpful and friendly and was just a regular guy. Not trying to oversell or be someone he isn't. Very few Italian chefs offer Braciola anymore, so I always order it if I see it on the menu. This version was excellent. They slice this one for presentation. I kinda prefer non sliced but no big deal. At least their version did not have raisins in it. The one served here was a bit on the smaller side of average. The Shrimp Scampi was really good, everything about that dish was perfect. Salad: Excellent Grapefruit Ginger drink: Excellent Pineapple Basil Lemonade: Excellent Budino for dessert! Awesome! Good Coffee!

Yelp
We really liked this restaurant! The vibe, food, and service were great! We ordered the happy hour cocktail's, the pizza of the day, and the shrimp tortellini. All were very good!! Danielle was our server and she was so amazing! Made the experience even better!!

Yelp
Tried Salento Italia for the first time recently and went back a second time within a week. Both times my boyfriend and I had absolutely amazing service. The food was incredible and perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself has such a lovely romantic vibe as well. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the ability to order a small portion of their entree pastas and salads that are actually reasonable in price for the quality. Both times we went we ordered the small size entrees and had appetizers and dessert. The first time we went we tried the caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs, cheese tortellini with shrimp, tiramisu and dirty martini. Everything was delicious, The spaghetti was cooked perfect to my liking almost a tad over al dente without being soft or soggy, but just a bit of a bite to it. I loved it. My boyfriend accidentally got the mushroom pasta sent to the table after ordering the shrimp pasta and they were swift in offering food while we waited for his right dish to be prepared and they compensated well for the small mistake. The one bite my boyfriend had of the mushroom pasta was so good though that he ordered it the next time around! Small critiques, the short rib gnocchi was so rich and full with flavor and LOTS of short rib!!!! Definitely worth it but... just wished that there was more sauce and less meat so it was more juicy than dry? The tiramisu was delicious, maybe soaked a bit too long for my liking but my boyfriend thought it was perfect, he'd like more cocoa on top. And on that note of desserts, the Olive Oil Cake and Budino were divine! Compared to other olive oil cakes I've tried it seemed most similar to a pound cake texture, wonderful taste though. The butterscotch budino was light and complimented the thickness of the cake so well! Definitely give this place a shot you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
So many different types of pasta that's cooked to perfection. From the orecchiette to the strozzapretti, it's all so good with the abundant amount of garlic that's just right. Every Cockrill has been shaken to perfection.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Salento Italia...and it would have been even better if I'd gone with folks who enjoy fine cuisine (unfortunately I did not). On 3/9 I was in a group of 9 eating at this restaurant for my mother's birthday. I was at once taken with how cute the restaurant was. The lower level featured an open floor plan, and a large bar area. The upstairs was smaller but well lit with a bunch of tables, chairs, and booths. The only downsides were the bathrooms are all on the first floor and all the food had to be carried up the stairs 2 plates at a time. We were seated on the 2nd floor of course. Our waitress was great, attentive and unfailingly polite despite many in my party being annoying and basic AF. Ordering took forever but that was due to us, not to the wait staff. I ordered a beer, which was very good, and the filet mignon. I didn't order my own appetizer but sampled all the appetizers folks around me ordered. The focaccia, calamari, and bruschetta were fabulous. And my steak was amazing! I cleaned my plate! Unfortunately, a lot of the people in my party ordered the chicken pasta dish, then complained it was too dry when it arrived. They're likely used to Americanized takes on food, which includes too much sauce and portions that are too large. Dessert was gelato, pistachio was the absolute best! I'd definitely return next time I'm in the Nashville area!

Yelp
The food was pretty good, nothing groundbreaking but respectable. We had an early Saturday evening reservation so it was only 1/3 full but definitely full when we left. The 2 stories I could see downstairs getting really loud. I'd say food is 4 stars but the service, prices and speed were a 5 so rounding up to the 5 Started with a cocktail and my husband with some Chianti - ordered the grilled focaccia which was nice and buttery with a great crunch but still soft inside with char flavor. I had the lasagna bolognese and my husband the papperdelle bolognese with a side misto salad (loved it) and a side of the polenta. Lasagna was great, tons of layers. The pappardelle was good. Polenta was a bit of a let down, probably wouldn't order it again. We wanted the gelato and the bundino for dessert but they were out of gelato so shared the bundino instead and it was amazing, incredibly rich. Would come back to try some new dishes and get that bundino again.

Yelp
For starters let me say this is probably the swankiest restaurant in Donelson. There are a few booths and just a couple "low" tables on the first floor some bar seating and some high top tables by the bar and a patio. There's also an upstairs but I didn't pop up there. The menu has lots of different options and almost all of them sound very interesting... Be aware that you can order half size portions of the salads and the pastas which means you can try more dishes... You can also substitute a gluten-free pasta in any of the pasta dishes (as I did). I'm assuming you could also substitute the polenta or risotto if you preferred. I started with what they call the shrimp scampi. I feel like it should be called a deconstructed ode to scampi. This is not your grandmother's scampi. First of all the polenta is so delicious and creamy I could have eaten just a big bowl of that. Instead of a really garlicky butter sauce there are cloves of roasted garlic which are delicious and a little bit sweet, and then the roasted cherry tomatoes round out the flavor with the poached shrimp perfectly. Also as you can see from the photo the shrimp are a nice jumbo size. Then I had a caesar salad with grilled shrimp and the lamb pasta dish - they were also good but the "scampi" appetizer is one of the better things I've eaten. *Like ever.*

Yelp
I have never felt more cheated than I did at this restaurant. The service was good as I sat at the bar. The food was good; I had the swordfish special. I ordered one drink -- a double makers mark. It was not a double, and I was charged $24.00. I travel all over the USA and have NEVER been charged that for a small drink. They are out of their minds

Yelp
This is a new Italian restaurant that just opened up in the Donelson area (officially opened 1/29) and my wife and I had the pleasure of coming here last Saturday. The owners of Salento Italia own Greko, which is one of our favorite restaurants in Nashville, and we were excited to see how this came out. It was quite busy when we came at 5, but we were seated quickly since we had reservations. Our server was very good and she was attentive throughout our meal despite having a large party upstairs. We started our meal with a grapefruit Negroni and an Amalfi mule, both of which were very refreshing and quite tasty. We tried the small Caesar salad and the shrimp scampi for an appetizer and they were both very, very good. The salad was very tasty and the croutons were smaller than expected, which gave a nice crunch to each bite of the salad. We loved the shrimp scampi as well and my wife (who grew up in NYC) said this was one of the best shrimp scampi dishes she's ever had. My wife had the bucatini lamb ragout for her entrée and she really liked it (the cinnamon in it is a nice nod to the owners Greek ancestry) and I had the special of the night (rigatoni with spicy Italian sausage and spinach) and I really enjoyed my meal as well. We had a side of broccoli rabe that was very garlic-y and tasty and contrasted well to the pasta. We finished our meal with an espresso martini and an affogato and it was a great way to cap off a really nice meal. The decor inside is quite lovely and it was cozy inside. We really liked that they had small plates for the pasta dishes as well so you can try a few and share things family style. The prices are also very reasonable and that was great to see. It's wonderful to see a nice new restaurant in the Donelson area and we were very impressed on our first visit. We'll definitely be coming back and we're glad we were able to come this past weekend!

Yelp
A great addition to the Donelson area! This new Italian spot from the owner of Darfon and SweetMilk Breakfast & Lunch does not disappoint. I had the Chicken Parmesan--perfectly flavored with a delicious sauce. My friend ordered the lunch portion of the Shrimp Scampi and enjoyed it as well. The interior is sleek and modern, with light music creating a nice ambiance. We sat upstairs, and the view was decent. Service was excellent--attentive and friendly. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
I cannot speak highly enough about this place. First I'm thankful I'm able to walk here. But secondly, the environment is phenomenal. You have such a wonderful vibe in an area you would never expect it. The wonderful views and they raise the windows at sunset. I was so surprised by the attention to detail by the staff both times I've been. Once for a quick dinner and another for my birthday. This has quickly become a favorite hotspot of mine. The food is absolutely out of this world. The mushroom pasta dish is my fav but there has not been a complaint from anyone of my friend group and we all have a variety of appetites. A wonderful appetizers is the charcuterie board for a group. The espresso martini is honestly to die for. I cannot rave enough about to food, ambiance and service. This is my go to place.

Yelp
Food, Service and Ambiance! The total rating is 125% over the top. Tony a I had lunch on Tuesday and we were blown away by one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Nashville area! The fried calamari appetizer with homemade sauce the best I ever ate. I also had a Margarette Pizza crisp and arrived HOT! Tony had spaghetti and a meatball. Very close to my Grandmother's. We agreed it was homemade flavors and taste! We will be taking our wives and friends to this Italian Stallion restaurant! It is tucked in the back lot of 329 Donelson Pike. We pasted it and Upturned and pulled in the lot full of new business. Oh, the Bar is beautiful and there are tables downstairs as well as upstairs. You all know I love to cook and eat. The pricing reasonable. Ciao Bella, Ronnie!

Yelp
Wonderful food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. The lasagna was baked in a cast iron pan and had crusty cheese around the edges. It was fabulous!

Yelp
Fast friendly service. Tucked in a corner of two other restaurants. Servers were fast and friendly. Food was super fast to come out. Makes me question if it's made to order or all premade. The flavor was pretty bland. I ordered the pappardelle bolognese. It was meh. I added pepper flakes and a bunch of Parmesan to give it something of a boost. Cocktails were good. Tables are pretty close together. I was fully aware of both conversations on either side of me. It has really good reviews so maybe my experience was off. I would try it again but if it is similar, I won't give it a third chance.

Yelp
Nice place and great service, the food is pretty standard Italian though. The Arancini was great, but the lasagna was fine. Too much cheese to sauce ratio in my opinion, but others may like that. Seating and ambiance were nice as well, good place to catch up with friends or a date. Just felt like the food didn't blow me away for the price.
