Saturday Morning Fire Severely Damages Rosemary & Beauty Queen | Eater Nashville

"A new neighborhood Italian from Nashville restaurateurs Bill and Sam Darsinos opens today at 329 Donelson Pike. I learned the two-floor dining room features white oak woodwork, 25-foot ceilings, leather-wrapped banquettes, and a heated, covered outdoor patio that will be open year-round. The menu includes starters like arancini, meatballs, and an antipasto platter, with larger plates such as bucatini lamb ragout, pistachio-crusted salmon, and various 12-inch pizzas. Salento’s will be open seven days a week for dinner from 3 to 9 p.m., with weekday lunch arriving in mid-February." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

We are now obsessed with Salento! We ordered the cobia fish special and it was delicious! One of the best dishes I’ve had in Nashville in a while! The kale salad was also a favorite. Can’t wait to go back and try more things 😋

Celebrated with family here today. I had chicken Parmesan. Family ate Pappardelle Bolognese, Solento steak frites, and Gnocchi and short ribs. For appetizers we had beef carpaccio and Arancini. The waiter was personable and provided suggestions and answered questions about the menu. Really enjoyed the meal.

Salento- you won’t just happen into this location. It is a bit hidden. My overall experience at Salento Italia earned high marks for the food, making it a great choice for refined Italian meal in Nashville. My dish overview of lobster ravioli was Rich flavors with a delicate seafood, sweetness paired with creamy tomato based sauce typical of upscale, Italian preparation. The restaurant is cozy and family owned with a warm ambience that transitions beautifully from happy hour to dinner.

First time visiting. Food was very good. Wished there was some type of bread accompanying the dishes. Liked the ability to vary portion sizes during the ordering of the meal. Sat upstairs, not as 'cozy' as the downstairs seemed. Will definitely return. Consider making reservations.

Super cute restaurant! We were seated upstairs next to the window and watched planes fly by as we ate. Food was delicious! The gelato trio was a great way to end the meal. Charlie was fantastic and kept us laughing! We will definitely be back.

Salento Italia was an incredible dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was packed with rich, authentic flavors and came out piping hot, making each bite even more enjoyable. The service was just as outstanding. Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. He also gave us great recommendations and helpful feedback on the dishes we were unsure about, which made our meal even better. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. If you’re looking for amazing Italian food in Nashville, this is the place to go!

Salento Italia – Nashville From the moment you step in, Salento makes a strong first impression. The modern yet warm interior design, double-height ceilings, and stylish lighting instantly set the mood for a great night out. The place buzzes with the right kind of energy—inviting, but not too loud. The Food: Every dish we tried was a hit. • Fritto Misto (Fried Calamari): Perfectly crispy, not oily, with tender squid inside. The marinara sauce on the side had a nice tang that paired well with the lemon. • Arancini: These were crunchy on the outside, creamy and flavorful inside. The tomato sauce underneath added a good contrast without overpowering the dish. • Carpaccio di Manzo: A standout. Thin slices of beef with arugula, shaved parmesan, and capers, paired with crispy flatbread. Fresh and well-balanced. • Shrimp with Polenta: This dish had a generous serving of shrimp in a garlicky, buttery sauce with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. The polenta soaked up all the goodness—comfort food done right. • Bruschetta: Loved the crunch of the bread, the fresh greens, and the burst of flavors from the toppings. Visually stunning too. • Gnocchi with Lamb Ragu: Rich, comforting, and hearty. The lamb was fork-tender and paired beautifully with the gnocchi and crumbled cheese. • Tiramisu: Creamy, light, and not overly sweet. The dusting of cocoa and fresh berries on top added both elegance and flavor. Everything tasted legit, made with quality ingredients and executed with care. Final Verdict: Salento gets everything right—from ambiance to food to service. Definitely a place we’d come back to. Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or celebrating something special, this is the kind of spot that impresses without trying too hard.

This was a great Italian experience in Nashville. It was recommended to me by a friend, and it did not disappoint. Kind of a hidden gem, not really seen by the street, but great food and service. My lamb was not cooked right, they fixed it immediately, and corrected the problem promptly. We will be back for sure. If you want a new vibe, clean atmosphere, and great food, this is the place.
