Howard Street Brewing is building a Rogers Park taproom for beer | Eater Chicago

"A brick-and-mortar pizzeria located about 150 feet from the proposed taproom site; its proximity matters because Chicago’s food-truck ordinance bars trucks from parking within 200 feet of restaurants, which could limit food-truck options for nearby businesses, though customers would still be allowed to bring pizza inside the taproom." - Ashok Selvam

Pizza is always best piping hot, and even with take-out, the pie from Salerno’s was still steaming when I got home. Coming from a town known for great pizza, finding a comparable spot is tough — but Salerno’s comes close, and I’ll definitely be back. The only tweak I’d make is the sauce, which leans a bit tart for my taste. Tip: order it well done. Saluti

This place feels like a local favorite where the staff knows almost everyone, and even as first-timers we felt super welcome. Ordering at the counter and paying upfront made it easy, and the food was tasty especially the garlic bread, lasagna, and that giant brownie. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back to try the pizza next time.

Can I give you 10 Stars? Arguably the best pizza I have had in my life. The atmosphere is casual dining, the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food! OMG, where do I start. You want salad? They offer a choice of Romaine, Iceberg or Spring Mix! Who offers three different types? The ranch dressing is perfection. Salad arrives with a basket of sliced Italian bread and real butter. The Zona Wings are a perfect blend of sweet and tangy… the wings have more meat than I have ever seen. Now, we ordered the Italian Sausage Pizza. Out of this world! It comes out piping hot… as in molten lava hot! Most excellent all the way around. Bravo Salerno family! I’m a huge fan. Don’t forget to grab the Brownie and Ice Cream for dessert… so good! 😍😍😍

Being From Chicago and also Lived in Cicero I used to Eat at their Restaurant on 22nd Street Cermak Road, I Absolutely Love having this Restaurant out in Arizona 10 Minutes From My House. 100 Percent the Best Pizza in Arizona the Sausage is all Home made and has the Best Taste anywhere in Arizona!! I would Definitely Recommend everyone who Loves Pizza and Italian food in General. Every Time me and my Wife go there it makes us Literally feel like we’re back home even if it’s only for a While. I’ve eaten everything on the Menu pretty much lol and haven’t found anything that’s Not Delicious. Originally owned by Mom and Dad back home now it’s Brother and Sister and Rob is very nice to Talk with. Oh yeah almost forgot the Bread is Brought in from Chicago Daily. Seriously People if you enjoy Pizza or Italian Food it’s a Must Place to Eat at. I’m not a Huge Deep Dish Pizza guy but my wife loves it but I’ll be Honest it’s not your Normal Deep Dish Pizza there’s a Difference not as thick but maybe that’s why I even enjoy there Deep Dish. Enjoy people and trust me you will be going back there to eat a Couple times a week once you try it. Great Job Bringing Chicago to the Desert 👏👏

Got a deep dish with 4 toppings, no drinks, $43.32 with tax. Pretty large pie, two slices was plenty, leaving 4 for leftovers. The crust was very hard to cut but tasted good. A lot of cheese and the sauce was good. The overall flavor was good but seemed quite light on toppings. That was disappointing.

This is such a nice restaurant. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Genuinely interested in our experience and our feedback on our food. Which was a delicious chicago thin crust. We like the TRUE thin crust which you must request otherwise it will be more the thickness of a regular crust peter piper pizza. Sauce and sausage are A+. We loved it!! They also have delicious pastas and sandwiches

This was some of the best food I've ever eaten. Our party enjoyed pizza, salads, lasagna and gnocchi with a huge meatball. You order at the counter. Our salads with fresh bread and butter were promptly delivered. I ordered a small Salerno's Special salad that could have easily fed two people. I failed to get pictures until we finished eating. We went here because our friends knew about this family owned business that also has locations in Illinois. We were not disappointed and hope to go again.

Nice spot. Staff was very friendly and informative. Lasagna was fresh hearty. Thin crust pizza had the perfect crunch and a good bake on top. This place appears to be a local gem, but I'm sharing it for anyone wanting to check out some delicious Italian food.
