I really wanted to love this place and give it five stars, as I usually do when I can, but my experience left me disappointed enough to give three stars, which for me is tough. The service was a highlight—our server, a friendly Latino gentleman, was welcoming, explained the menu clearly, and made my first visit feel comfortable. The food came out quickly, which I appreciated. However, the food itself was a mixed bag. The tri-tip was dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. The pork ribs had good taste but were slightly dry and not as fresh as I’d hoped, possibly due to my late evening visit. The brisket was decent, maybe a seven out of ten, but still a bit chewy. The sides, though, were the biggest letdown. The "macaroni and cheese" was actually rigatoni with Alfredo sauce that tasted straight out of a store-bought jar—honestly, it felt insulting for a barbecue joint where sides are so important. The cornbread was even worse, with a strange texture like a mix of cornbread, upside-down cake, and a dry, frozen dinner roll, lacking any real flavor. I hope they can step up their game, especially on the sides, because the service shows they care. I’d give them another shot, but this visit was disappointing.
