Arriving at Salinda on the complimentary airport pickup we were greeted with a lobby that was open, breezy and decidedly tropical in feel. We were given a cold drink while reception handled our check-in, which was done quickly, then we were shown to our room. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with a balcony that faced the street (which was hidden by some lovely thick trees, so it still felt private).
Staff were always lovely, from the room staff, reception, restaurant and pool area. We were treated very well and felt pampered.
The range of food at breakfast was huge, from western fare to different styles of noodle soups and the fruit and bread range was excellent. Table staff were very observant, watching to see when they should clear plates from your table. Our booking was a sparkling booking so we had a glass of champagne before each breakfast. Table linen was cloth, not paper, and there was always soft piano music playing in the background, but never loud enough to be annoying. One morning, we had a person playing the piano live, which was a beautiful touch.
Salinda was never noisy and felt peaceful the whole time. It was a luxury stay.
