"In the beginning, there was vegan burgers, hot dogs, and tacos. At least that’s the story of genesis at this entirely plant-based diner on Commercial Street. It has a long menu of quick comfort foods, think everything from a seitan shawarma to an ice cream sundae. There’s a lot of pink seating and fluorescent lighting going on but this place is perfect for a catch up over cocktails or a quick-fire vegan lunch if you work in the area. Will you resent paying £45 for dinner for two with counter service? Probably, yes. Will the jackfruit hoisin taco make up for it? Absolutely." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Excellent experience as always. Very professional, staff goes above and beyond. I didn't have enough hair to complete my braids, one of the salon managers stopped to grab an extra pack for me. That's above and beyond!

I'm all about quality versus quantity. My daughter and I have been coming to this salon from the moment they first opened their doors and have never been disappointed. They use top of the line products, which in turn has allowed my daughter and my hair to remain natural and mid way down our backs. I will never even allow anyone else to touch us nor even consider or trust anyone else. I truly thankful for them and the way they take care of our hair and ensuring we look good for all occasions. Great stylists. Mimi really takes care of my hair when I get it pressed. My press lasts almost 3 weeks! Very professional, the decor is lovely, and the staff is always friendly. If you're looking for a salon that does more than just style your hair, Salon Genesis is where you belong.

I called the hair salon on Wednesday for an appointment. I left a message on the answering machine as directed and I was suppose to receive a return call the next day. Thursday aftrnoon I called again to make an appointment and was told a stylist would contact me. I did tell the individual that I was a new customer she asked for my name and telephone number which i gave to her. I'll have a stylist give you a call. I have yet to hear from the stylist. If this is how they handle their customers I should be happy to have not heard from them. What a poor way to start off with a potential new customer.

I must share my experience, these women are amazing👌 Coming into the salon they make you feel like family. I love these women. All the stylists are very professional, their work is amazing and I was satisfied and happy that I was able to get my hair done. MiMi is an excellent stylist. She slayed and layed my sew in. I walked in looking like somebody's Aunt Ruthie🤣 and walked out like I was B (Beyoncé) Thank you Tisha for the amazing hair wash. Love you girls (Tamara Johnson)

Awesome group of ladies. Very professional, friendly and they all do hair very well. And the big plus for me is they Do Not keep you there all day. They get you in and out in a timly manner and your hair will always look nice and healthy. Give them a try, you will not regret it. 🤗

I did a walk in exactly at 9a when MiMi arrived. She started my hair exactly at 9:05. She washed conditioned detangled and pressed. I was finished by 9:55. The entire experience was bomb! She's sweet a d knowledgeable in natural hair. Im particular with people touching my hair but I hope definitely found my new stylist!❤
