"Local fast-casual chain Saloniki has added two more Boston locations, at 1 Beacon St. and 316 Newbury St., bringing its total to five restaurants. Expect more of the same crave-worthy Greek fare, like chicken souvlaki, sour-cherry-topped loukoumades, and moussaka." - Erika Adams

Google
their salads are amazing! I especially recommend the winter salad! A lot of diverse ingredients and so fresh! their pita was good too! the man who seemed like a manager here is always so kind! this place would be my go to delicious&healthy meal spot:)

Joyce

Google
Loved the lamb meatballs 🍖, it was very juicy and tender and goes so well with the tzatziki sauce! Tip: We used our student ID cards to get a free side of fries 🍟 with a purchase of any food item. The crispy chicken pita wrap 🥙 with avocado 🥑 is my go to but they did have very little avocado in there. Overall was good though.

Google
I almost didn’t order because the employee came out of the bathroom and back to the counter, having obviously not washed their hands, because I heard the toilet flush and the door opened less than one second later. And when he took my order, it seemed like I was a nuisance, interrupting his scrolling. Salad was nothing special, but the halloumi was excellent.

Google
Food is very good! Simple, authentic, tasty! I love the salty, grilled Halloumi. Service is quick. The atmosphere is “fast foodish” but if you’re into that, it’s worth the visit!

Google
The food is an insult for the Greek cuisine - very untasty and pricey. Avoid. Ceasar salad is just a bunch of greens with sauce.

Google
One of the nicest experiences I’ve had in a restaurant in a long while. The food was wonderful, but the staff were incredible — I had brought my kitten in as I picked up my order, and the staff were friendly and competent. They even gave him some chicken without my asking! Upper management, pay your front of house more. They’re lovely people!

Google
Service is good, chatty man behind the counter. We went to 3 saloniki while in Boston, 1 in Cambridge, this 1 and 1 on Newbury. We liked the food here more, it was fresh and flavoured The 1 on Newbury Street had excellent salads

Google
I always order from here when I’m in town. It’s usually quick and the quality is consistent, except for this time ..I ordered takeout and my favorite crispy feta puffs (which I get 100% of the time they are usually amazing) were fried to the point of being inedible and hard to the point they couldn’t be eaten. Totally stinks, waste of half my meal. I think there needs to be better quality control before orders go out by the cooks and the person packing orders. My pita was the quality I expect. Order from 3/19/24

Yelp
One of the best Saloniki I've been to. The staff is very friendly and will bring your food to your table. They try to get to know you as well and are very welcoming. This is a very cozy spot and you can sit by the windows to look outside to Newbury or sit at their cozy booths. If you are a student you can get free fries as long as you show valid ID. For food we had the crispy chicken pita, pork shoulder pita, and fries & feta. Crispy chicken pita: if you want a nice juicy crunch in your pita I suggest picking this on the menu. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. 9/10 Pork shoulder pita: had mixed feelings about this one. It is very juicy/watery from the pork fat that you need to be careful because the juice will start dripping from the bottom of your wrapper. It is overwhelming with flavor with a slightly sweet spicy kick. 7/10 Fries & feta: always hits the spot when you're craving fries with feta. The fries are very crispy and there is plenty of feta. 9/10

Yelp
What a great stop on a chilly day! Saloniki is bright and warm on the inside, with fast service and fresh food. My husband and eye ordered the grilled and crispy chicken pitas, pita & hummus, and I had to try the crispy feta puffs! Food is fairly priced and has a quick turnaround time from placing your order to when you receive it! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Yelp
Fast and convenient food. I had the hummus and the spicy lamb meatballs, which were not spicy. Everything was decent. Most of the tables weren't cleaned when we tried to find a seat so we had to wipe one down.

Yelp
Amaaaaazing Caesar salad! Always my go to! I have ordered from here through Grubhub a few times and the way they package their food is so nice. It's so caring and it keeps everything so well separated. I recommend the Caesar salad w chicken 100%. I also love the feta fries!

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick yet long awaited lunch! I am a die-hard Saloniki connoisseur, as well as a Back Bay frequent flyer, so I was very thrilled to see that a location opened up here! The store is very clean, but a little tight as most dining options are on Newbury St. The service was quick, but the kiosk was a little bit hard to navigate (it was a slightly different interface than other Saloniki locations) and had no option for Apple Pay/card tap, old school. Also, no option for gift rewards using a phone number :( As for food, I went for my regular grilled chicken souvlaki plate, and was super satisfied as usual. The chicken was super flavorful was a tasty sauce coating, the brown rice/pita were pleasant, and the salad was delight and jam packed with feta! The tzatziki and hot sauces were a great compliment to the dish, and brought out all of individual flavors very nicely. I would highly recommend getting these sauces and mixing them. Overall, I'd highly recommend stopping by Saloniki-- it is definitely one of the superior Greek restaurant options on Newbury!

Yelp
This review is solely for their greek donuts, which by the way, are delicious! Whenever I'm shopping on Newbury St., I always stop by Saloniki Greek for their greek donuts, specifically the honey & cinnamon. It usually takes around 5-10 minutes for them to be ready. They come out piping hot and are worth every penny!

Yelp
Decent fast Greek food chain in Boston. Nothing overly special but hits the craving. Wish portions were a tad bigger but still good and filling. The fries are also good! This location has indoor seating, but I took it to go to eat at the public garden.

Sarah C.

Yelp
pretty decent chicken pita, the chicken was tender. the fries were actually very good too

Jessica S.

Yelp
So yum i love that they have impossible meatballs! Perfect portion imo and nice location to sit

Yelp
Was gonna grab Greco on Newbury for dinner, but thought to try this new Saloniki location instead. My partner and I ordered a Mykonos salad and chicken souvlaki double meal - TASTE: 4/5 - the zucchini-feta fritters were the stars of the salad w a sharp flavor combo of pickled onions, capers, and feta in the background. The grilled chicken skewers were alright, glad the tzatziki was there for pairing TEXTURE: 3/5 - the fritters were a nice contrast to the crisp salad mix, though the fries in the chicken souvlaki meal seemed a little stale PRICE: 4/5 - reasonable prices and comparable to other Greek spots. Side note: I was impressed by the amount of dessert options! SERVING SIZE: 3/5 - both dishes seemed a little small, enough for lunch but left me wanting more for dinner SERVICE: 4/5 - we ordered at the register and got our food in about five minutes ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - the interior is clean and minimal w classic blue and white decor PARKING: 4/5 - parking can be tough on Newbury, but there were many street spots available on this Thursday evening

Yelp
Saloniki Greek is a go-to spot right around my job when I am unsure of what I want to eat for the day, but know that I want something good. As this restaurant was my first Greek Food experience, it was amazing to discover the all-new flavors. It's a comfortable environment, and you simply order up front, and receive your food. As a negative, I will say that the food is not hot, rather warm, which is often the case with fast, comfort food chains. If you expect your food to be hot, then you can certainly ask for that. In all, it's an all-around excellent place for Greek, especially if trying for the first time. My experience is specifically the Back Bay location. If you want more videos, pictures and content of other restaurants all around Boston, follow @_nicyla on Instagram in which I post Boston Food and Fashion content! Enjoy your meal!

Yelp
If you love Greek Food, you have to give this spot a try! It's tough to find a good Greek spot. After today, I think I found my new go-to! Here, they use locally sourced ingredients in all the food they make. You can taste the freshness. They have a large menu with pita sandwiches, Greek-inspired salads, classic Greek meals, and Greek Meze. They also have a solid selection of sides & Greek desserts. We decided to order the Chicken Souvlaki dinner. It comes with one Chicken Souvlaki skewer, tzatziki sauce, rice OR hand-cut fries, and Greek salad. The Greek salad has crisp, juicy cucumber, onion, & juicy cherry tomatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Greek Salad served with the meal was incredibly fresh. The pita served with the meal was soft, yet strong. It doesn't get mushy, crack, or fall apart on you. They're also very large. It's hard to find good pita bread. The chicken souvlaki skewer was delicious, seasoned perfectly. I was full after one. However, I'd suggest adding on an extra skewer (up charge) if you have a big appetite. I was fine with just the one skewer. It all depends how hungry you are. My only complaint was the chicken was a bit on the drier side. It was just a tad over-cooked. They were seasoned/marinated perfectly. They just were a bit dry. A minute or two less on the grill would be a huge improvement. Everything was packed securely and arrived piping hot. If you order it via delivery, I would suggest going with one of their meals, as the pita sandwich may get greasy or soggy in transport. The meals include a pita, so you can make the sandwich yourself! I look forward to making this my new Greek Spot. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I especially like that they incorporate locally-sourced ingredients! If you have a craving for Greek Food, be sure to check these guys out!

Yelp
Great service and great food!! The ambiance inside was very nice, and the food tasted very fresh and filled me up!

Yelp
The food at Saloniki is delicious! I love the idea of fast Greek. I had a village salad which is a regular Greek salad with a side of spicy lamb meatballs. The salad was big and filling, and really good. The meatballs were excellent and had perfect flavor. My mom had the impossible moussaka which she was so excited to see it on the menu since she's vegetarian. It was decadent and delicious. We didn't have room for dessert but their dessert options looked absolutely incredible. We will definitely be back to try them!

Yelp
My go-to Greek restaurant! The Mykonos Salad and Chicken Souvlaki never disappoint! Their peach lemonade is amazing!!!!!!

Yelp
For the price, you cannot find better freshly cooked food on Newbury. Favorite combo is Souvlaki Chicken meal with their dessert yoghurt... it's almost always sold out because it's that good!!

Jen C.

Yelp
Part 1: Food is delicious! Ordered the zucchini wrap and the mezze (spreads) -- an excellent combination. Perfect size and extremely tasty! Part 2: I left my credit card behind after ordering my to-go meal, and was so grateful that the folks at the restaurant held on to it until I was able to return several days later. Thank you so much!

Niclas B.

Yelp
Great food, fast service, clean environment. Good for a quick lunch! Highly recommend.

Eric C.

Yelp
I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki meal and asked for well done fries. Fries were between Luke warm to cold and not well done at all. There was only 1 skewer of chicken and it was warm but dry. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
I went thinking I would order a gyro Perhaps they have gyros as good as Greco. Boy was I mistaken! Saloniki on Newbury Street is not good. It was 830 pm on a Thursday night. Not too many people in the restaurant. I ordered and waited and waited and waited for my food. Was told they're making the halloumi cheese thing I had ordered. I also ordered a braised pork pita. I ate both when I got home because I was hungry but kept saying as I ate.....I should have stopped at greco for a gyro! Greco would have been quicker and it's always delicious. I hate giving a bad reviee to saloniki but I don't like spending good money on bad food. Good luck since Newbury Street diners know when food is good and when itis not.

Yelp
The impossible meatball pita is DELICIOUS!!!! The staff were very friendly as well. I do recommend the impossible meatball to both vegetarians and meat eaters alike

Yelp
I met my friend here for dinner, one night around 7. There was no one in line, but unfortunately one man who was waiting on take out was standing, talking to the cashiers, and oblivious to the fact I wanted to order. After a few minutes, the cashier interrupted him to ask if I needed help. I ordered the Zucchini-Feta Fritters meal. It took over 15 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I received my food. My friend had ordered about four minutes before me, but her food arrived over ten minutes before mine. I had to go to the counter to ask about my food and the cashier said donuts take a while- except I hadn't ordered donuts. She asked the kitchen and it seems like they may have forgotten. My order was out a few minutes later. The food was good, but not extraordinary. I normally would give it a 4 (it's fast casual so I don't expect the world) but based on the amount of time I had to wait, when it wasn't busy, it's only worthy of 3 stars.

Yelp
The food and service is hit and miss. It used to be great, and on par with the one in Fenway, but for some reason they've gone downhill quite a bit. Sometimes the meat will be kinda burned. The romaine lettuce will sometimes be a bit oxidized as well which is kinda off putting for most people, because it changes the taste of it. I don't know what the deal is with the workers there, whether they don't enjoy their jobs, or the customers make them upset, maybe personal issues, but it's important to understand that when customers are kind to you and try to sympathize with you, you shouldn't be rude to them and behave as if they are a nuisance to you, but it is what it is. Whatever is going on in their lives, I hope they find the happiness and joy they deserve. Charmless lack luster service, Okay-ish food, I don't think I'll be back to this location again. I'll stick to Greco as my main spot, for sure.

Yelp
Food FRESH! Service fast respectful and professional! Ambiance is cute quaint clean!my favorite go to place for a healthy menu selection n no drama on the side!

Yelp
This was a really cute place which we went to on a whim, getting the mixed grilled meal, a greek frappe, and the Greek donuts. Mixed Grilled Meal: 2 grilled chicken skewers, 4 lamb meatballs, grilled halloumi cheese, fries, 2 pitas, tzatziki, spicy whipped feta ($39.99). This was really good and surprisingly filling (3 adults). I preferred the chicken skewers to the meatballs. The one thing I don't understand is the inconsistent number of items - would be more convenient if you could buy in multiples of two, or something. Overall, I think this is a great sampler dish to see what you like or not for your next visit. Greek Frappe ($4): This was weird but tasty, like a whipped greek coffee with yogurt. Would get again. Saloniki Greek Donuts - Nutella & Baklava ($8): This was so good. The donuts reminded me of mochi donuts, and how can you go wrong with pouring nutella and baclava on top??? The restaurant itself was surprisingly large, clean, and aesthetic.

Holly C.

Yelp
Food is good, but too pricey for what you get. Over $20 for one skewer of chicken, rice, side salad and pita. Not worth it in my opinion.

Joe G.

Yelp
There's a few of these across boston. They're actually pretty decent for the price. Fast casual greek is hard to mess up. Can make a few of the options vegan with the impossible meatballs.

Lyn A.

Yelp
Bring back Steve's, which was in the space before Saloniki. The young woman taking our order was sulky, the portions pretty small, the food only okay. Although there are tables, they are not kept clean routinely. Not sure why it's so hard to have someone come by with a cloth to wipe things down? Not a patch on Steve's, which was there for so many years. Sad to see the older, reliable places giving way to dreck like this.

Pear B.

Yelp
Glad to have this in the neighborhood. Live the fall salad with squash and the fried cheese and walnuts. Pita nice and warm.

Russ O.

Yelp
Food is very good but the service is really poor (you will wait a long time for your food at this location and the fellow working the front desk coordinating everything lacks the personality to handle things...my experience - and what i observed while waiting - is the lack of delivery results is no food, however refunds to the order after waiting.

Yelp
HI! I love the impossible pita sandwich!! its the best vegan option in back bay that you can get on a 30 min lunch break. Recommend for anybody trying to eat plant based protein or duck lactose!!
