This place is very unassuming in appearance, especially from the outside. However, it is a GEM! They have such a large menu selection/options! The pizza tasted AMAZING. The atmosphere is old-school and I loved it. I was surprised at how quiet and slow they were. It was a relaxing dinner for us but I hope we just picked a lucky time. I can’t imagine why this place wouldn’t be BUSY. Pizza and pasta are our favorites and this place nails them! We will definitely be back.

So, at first, I didn't know what to say. I was a little bit upset with the one Olive and one tomato in my salad. My server was named Mr Diamond. He took $3 off my bill because I'm looking at this as an actual homemade salad and not something where the owner is going to be cheap about it and just add one tomato and one olive. 🤣 He did explain to me the situation where a lot of people don't like a lot of olives and tomatoes in their salad. So I was happy when the actual slice of pizza came out, which is pretty good and reminds me of a New York Pizza. And the baked manicotta was good. I actually had ordered chocolate homemade cheesecake it wasn't bad at all. Maybe with some hot cocoa or coffee would have made it better. I believe the cheesecakes are homemade. It's not too bad of experience. I'm not really sure if I'm going to be back, but I'm glad I had to stop in and check it out

My husband & I are very disappointed with the pizza for $20 picked up today, 3/21 & the service. To our surprise, it was burn, hard, old like it had been sitting out for days, no taste, very thin crust, hardly any cheese. It was too hard & burn which made it hard to chew. I called to explain the mgr on duty. He didn’t apologize. He straight out told me I would have to pay half ($10) for another pizza. I told him, “sir you aren’t going to get more rich for giving me another pizza”. He replied, “ I can’t, & I don’t have time”. Makes sense, food tasted old cuz they are being stingy. If I’m going to pay $20 for a pepperoni pizza, I gotta go back to Ciciz cuz theirs it’s about $15 but it’s worth your $. No matter how I tried to explain to him, he just cut me off ready to hang up.

I was invited to dinner here. I ordered the Bake Ziti which came with a House Salad and Oh so good House Dressing. Their complementary bread was Delicious also. My BF ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and that too was delicious. The inside is nice and Roomy and had Televisions to watch maybe a Dallas Cowboys Game. The Gentleman that was our server was Very Nice and attentive. I've been eating at Sal's since 1990 and will continue to go back. You all should give it a try.

Google
My husband and I have been coming here for generations. His son, nephew, and nieces are 3rd generation to dine here. We hope they bring their kids to dine here on a regular as well. This is the most authentic Italian food you will ever eat in the dfw area. They are very consistent with their food. You can never go wrong with this place. This is definitely a hidden gem. Their wings are the most crispiest wings in the dfw. Everything is so flavorful . We always order more than what we can eat because everything is just that good ! We normally order the chicken parmigiana, chicken Alfredo breaded or grilled, wings, cheese bread, pepperoni and black olive pizza, Stromboli, and spaghetti with meatballs. That’s our regular order but everything else on the menu we have tried is delicious as well

Google
Garlic bread was 🔥 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Alfredo was good for dipping, a little thin but I like all cheese everything so I still give it all the stars. Pizza was good, very cheesy and hot. Good cheese pull. Kinda plain but crust was crispy and thin just the way I like it.

Randy Poirier

Google
Average at best! I had the Italian sausage and meat balls with angel hair pasta. The sausage was way overcooked. Meat balls weren't your conventional looking but tasted good and were cooked properly. Pasta was overdone but gave them a pass since it was a delivery. I can't recommend this dish!

Usually, always have great service. House dressing here is good. Good value for the prices.

Kristie G.

Yelp
A co-worker took us to Sal's today for lunch and we had a great experience. Our sever was attentive and gave great service. I hate that I don't remember his name. My husband tried the Stromboli, a side salad, and a side of meatballs. It was very good Our co-workers had a Hawaiian Pizza and a Pasta Sampler. They both said they were so good! I look forward to going back to try more.

Charlie W.

Yelp
We ate inside and it was not too busy. Very large portions Great taste Reasonable prices Plenty of parking Service was friendly and fast!

Julian A.

Yelp
pizza was good m, new york ish -- pasta was OK. personally I find traditional Italian food bland. I got the chicken parm. would I eat here again, maybe. service is good.

Maggie L.

Yelp
first time visit for lunch. Plane interior, very good service, very good food and lots of it. Seems to be mostly a guy place.

Bert T.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza flavors. Very fresh. Meatballs were delectable and huge. Their service is fast and friendly. The feel of a New York restaurant.

Samuel G.

Yelp
Good pizza good spot, nothing much more to say! This place has been here for so long, used to come as a kid and the pizza hasn't changed since then. The pizza is nice I'm not sure if they make it in a fire stove but yeah it was good, kinda crispy yet soft. I went with a coworker and got the giants pizza, we didn't finish it even tho we are big guys, but it's enough to feed a small village haha check it out it's a good place to visit and friendly staff.

Tram N.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is their house dressing! For 20+ years I have been going here! Their location in Garland was the first 15 years and the latest 5 years I have been going to their Wycliff location. My second favorite dish is their Chicken Artichoke pasta. Perfection with their sauce and pasta!

T S.

Yelp
Definitely the best chicken fettuccine alfredo anywhere in town. It's the creamiest, never runny sauce I've tried and sticks to the noodle. I choose the breaded chicken over grilled.

Victoria E.

Yelp
Terrible service! And the pizza is just okay. I stopped in for a quick slice and when I walked in there were a couple tables occupied. Five associates behind the counter. It was my first time so I approached the wrong side of the counter the four workers on that side of the counter didn't say a word but just carried on with their conversation one associate was on the phone assisting a customer. The other associate further down working on making pizzas asked me how I could be helped I asked about the pizza by slice and he let me know that there was once cheese slice available and that if I wanted more than one slice I would have to wait 15-20 minutes. I was in a time crunch and just took the one cheese slice he called out to the female associate who was not doing anything to come and ring me up, she made no moves to help me. He added a few shreds of cheese to an already made slice of cheese and put it into the oven. He called out to the female associate again to come ring me up she finally came she was very dry as she processed the transaction. The pizza slice was not bad, the crust was good, but based on the customer service I will not be returning.

Gary L.

Yelp
Looking forward to when they open their new location at the corner of Wyclif and Mable. Miss their pizza.

Bill G.

Yelp
Business is gone. Building empty. Space showing for lease. I'm bummed about this. Benn going there for 50 years.

Melony V.

Yelp
We ordered the Meatball parm sub and Margarita pizza. Although the portion and slices were large, the taste was less than desirable.

Timothy T.

Yelp
Sausage and Pepperoni. Not the same Italian sausage as other pics Not a bad pizza at all just expected chunk Italian sausage

Peter G.

Yelp
Great New York thin crust pizza. Been coming here for 20 years. Consistently good. XL Sausage & Mushroom is out standard.

Doug G.

Yelp
Great food with an attitude. I walked in to order pizza and was greeted with, "it's going to be a 45 minute wait. Okay... so I ordered 4 pizzas and ordered a shimmer on tap at the bar. Beer was great and so was the pizza. Staff was a little sterile. I still come here but hello is the proper greeting. Guess you can do whatever if your food is good enough.

Katia V.

Yelp
This spot is a very relaxed establishment with simple decor, but what it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for in flavor and value. I came here with 7 friends, and we all ordered various pizzas and some ordered pastas. The food was ready pretty quickly, and we all had so much food AND food to spare. They were not shy with the toppings at all. The place wasn't too busy at the time we arrived, but we ordered so many pizzas that I was surprised they didn't take longer. Our waitress (who I think is also the owner) was very sarcastic in a funny way, and my friends and I had a great time talking with her throughout our time at this spot. Good pizza, better people. I'm sure we'll be back at some point!

Mark R.

Yelp
Pizza is way overpriced and very average. The amount and quality of the cheese is poor. So many better places to eat. On top of all this, the manager is rude.

CR J.

Yelp
First time trying Sals, to go. Tried the margarita and veggie Sicilian pizzas. I believe they tout being "New York Style" but the thinness of the crust is lost in the thickness of the cheese. Our pizzas arrived steaming hot and fresh, but after 30 minutes- the cheese was like a brick. I love pizza cheese! But this was a little too thick and chewy for my taste. It basically would just glob off in one pull. I don't think it's bad pizza, but not one I would prefer to eat again. It definitely had that that oven fire taste, but the crust is very unappetizing. Really just the plainest tasting crust I've ever had, definitely would stick to pepperoni if ordering as that's hard to mess up. The Veggie Sicilian's toppings were a little too hard for my liking. The black olives, mushrooms, and green peppers didn't taste sautéed or seasoned so it felt like I was eating raw veggies on my pizza. Me and my two friends all agree that the pizzas are saltier than expected. One friend liked the salt, but me and another friend did not. I would like to try this place out again, but only for their non pizza Italian dishes.

Oso E.

Yelp
Simple name, but impressed by the food. I was jazzed to be able to get pizza by the slice, and getting pasta to go with it was exactly what I needed. The chicken was amazingly-flavorful, and the pizza hit the spot. I've not had anything from their menu that wasn't exactly what I needed it to be.

Donna J.

Yelp
We had cheese pizza and spaghetti and meatballs to share. All very tasty pizza had good cheese/sauce ratio and new york style. Meatballs (2) were good size and plenty to go with the spaghetti. Only drawback is they charge 3.50 for drinks. a bit much in my opinion.

R G.

Yelp
SO good! The dough / crust is perfect. We ordered the xl pizza; it's huge! I didn't particularly like the sausage, but I'll just double up on the pepperoni next time. We also ordered a chicken dish -- also, so good! This is our new fav for Italian takeout.

Sid G.

Yelp
Best pizza in Dallas! I've been eating their food for many years! Their spaghetti with meat sauce is is out of this world and when in doubt the chicken in Marsala sauce is very good .

Yelp
DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS! (and before they try to tell you a different story, the whole thing was videoed by a customer and I will send you the video) I have been a long time patron here, and I was just told by Nicol (The owners granddaughter) "TO GET THE F*** OUT" of the store. Here is what happened; I place an order for pickup and upon arriving I did happen to notice the homeless gentleman in the parking lot but he did not approach me and I thought nothing of it. I got to the counter and was told my order would be a few minutes. I noticed that the homeless guy was standing outside the front door talking to a couple of business men that were just inside the front door of the restaurant on their way in. The Nicol girl saw the interaction and stormed from behind the counter toward the door and started to raise or voice and was immediately told by one of the 2 men that it was okay and that he wanted to by the man a pizza. She was infuriated and disgusted by the gesture. She proceeded to come back behind the counter and berate the situation to another female employee. At this point I had now paid for my order and I chimed in with exactly this "you probably can't imagine what it is like to be at rock bottom and have absolutely nothing". Nicol responded with "my father lives on the streets I know all about it." I then responded with "then I would think you would have a little compassion in these spots". She went on a tirade about how there are places that he can go and help he can get and doesn't need to be hanging around in their parking lot bugging their customers. (Please note that we have all seen homeless before and we know the difference between just homeless and ROCK BOTTOM, this guy was definitely RB), I asked her if she had ever researched what help is available and maybe pointed the guy in the right direction to help her and his situation. She was more infuriated that I would infer such a thing. I asked her to cancel and refund my food (obviously because of her stance and bad attitude). As she refunded my food I again reiterated that she might consider finding some compassion in these situations and she made another snide comment. I then told her she didn't need to be a BI*** about the situation and that is when she told me to "TO GET THE F*** OUT" of the store. I proceeded to try to get owner and manager information where she then notified me that she can say or do whatever she wants because she is the owners granddaughter. Take your business elsewhere, live with compassion, don't support cold hearted bad business owners.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Sal's for the first time several months ago. We were impressed with the quality of the food. He ordered a stromboli, and I ordered their GF pizza. Both were tasty and the quantity was enough for two meals. The staff was friendly as well.

Regina W.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted a good sandwich tonight. We walked into Sal's and the sandwiches are phenomenal! They only serve 12 inch sandwiches and the best toasted bread! All ingredients taste super fresh. It definitely met our taste buds! If you really need a good tasting sandwich......Sal's pizza is the place!!

Sue M.

Yelp
Had carry out and arrived a little early but the two extra large pizzas were just out of the oven. My group loved the supreme and veggie pizzas.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
This used the be my favorite pizza place, but sadly I will be looking for another one. This is the second time in a row I have received a less than tasty pizza. I've attached pictures from most of my visits, and you can see that the cheese in my most recent photos is just off. The cheese used to be beautiful and white, and now it is yellow and full of grease. The quality of this pizza has gone downhill within the last year, in my opinion. I also don't appreciate receiving burnt pizza. I definitely will not be ordering from here again. Smh

M F.

Yelp
Again still with the bread and cheese instead of the cheese bread! People are paying for cheeses bread. This is not truth in advertising. Sad and disappointing

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
The BEST EVERYTHING! The Alfredo sauce was to fie for! The pizza margarita was made with the freshest ingredients (you could smell the basil)! The garlic bread was hot fresh and tasty. The service fantastic: greeted by Sal and our waiter superb! The crème brûlée was made to perfection! Ambiance like the Italian restaurant it is!

Kellye K.

Yelp
Best pizza in town! Authentic, New York style pizza with fresh toppings, and a large menu.

Fredrick F.

Yelp
After I tipped, and then was charged $2 for a 4oz cup of ranch. I could assume they wouldn't consider to fix my pizza once I left the property.

Chris F.

Yelp
I love this place, if you like New York style pizza, just like you would get in a little pizza place in Manhattan, you would like this restaurant. It's not fancy but neither is a New York diner. It's clean and neat and pleasant and you can usually watch whatever game is happening on the big screen TVs. The waitstaff is always fantastic, polite, attentive, and very good about any special orders. I get their gluten-free pizza and it's really great, very thin crust, crispy, and flavorful. Just like I like it. Stop by and check it out

Charley T.

Yelp
Best pizza and pasta in town. The customer service was great. Everything on the menu is explained and can be custom.

Stacy M.

Yelp
Wow the best pizza in Dallas. I feel I am back in NYC. I want to share this is a family owned business and not a chain. Great food takes time and don't rush it. Small salami pizza to die for it was delicious. June 11,2019 The best Italian food ever! I had chicken piccata. My friend ordered a Stromboli . The best price for food and service. I support local and not chains!

ISabrina H.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken ceasar salad and garlic cheese bread. That was the best chicken ceasar salad and garlic cheese toast I have ever had. Whenever I'm in Dallas and close to Sals Pizza, this will be where I will eat. It was DELICIOUS.

Rach S.

Yelp
Yummy!!! Wanted a low key date and this place was great. Not stuffy, not obnoxious or trendy, but good quality people and food. Felt like I was back in Jersey. We split a Caesar salad which was delicious and huge! Good, green crunchy lettuce and super crispy croutons. Also split a half Alfredo, half meat lovers pizza. First of all, he ordered the biggest one they have which was insanely huge. I could barely finish one slice. I have leftovers for days. Pizza crust was on point, and it folded so I loved it. Alfredo was surprisingly light. His side was loaded with sausage, pepperoni, ham. I'm not a huge meat fan and didn't love my bite of the little sausage balls but he was happy. Our server was friendly, attentive even though he was super busy. Overall, great casual pizza spot and I will be back.

Justin M.

Yelp
My go to pizza spot in Dallas! Definitely a hidden gem and the closest to NY style pizza I can find in DFW.

Kelley H.

Yelp
Good pizza! The sauce is great as is the crust! Best Italian sausage! Try the salad with the house dressing! Delicious. :)

Brandon P.

Yelp
I've only had the stromboli from here which has been great each time however the staff always seem to be having an awful day outside of one lady. My order was left in the oven once and needed to be remade which I didn't mind but the staff member started to glare and sigh at me. I typically get my food to go from here so it's not much of an issue but I could see it being a problem sitting down and eating within the restaurant.

Kelly M.

Yelp
I've been coming to Sal's off and on for at least the past 20 years. The food is generally good and inexpensive -- more or less along the lines of what one might expect to find in a classic American "red and white checkered tablecloth" Italian restaurant. I'm not normally a fan of calzone, but Sal's does it right. There are several other very well-prepared dishes as well, mainly chicken. The veal isn't tender enough to be worthy of ordering, but the meatballs are tasty. The pizza is decent... but not outstanding. This said, dining in the restaurant itself is always a bit depressing. The table service is efficient but the place is dead silent most of the time. No background music of any kind whatsoever. There are rarely more than six or seven tables occupied. Takeout is usually the best option.

Timothy M.

Yelp
I have ordered from Sals six or seven different times. The food has always been, at very least, good. Most of the time their pizzas and other entrées are very very good. Sals has got a very significant problem with their delivery company. It might be their own people? It might be a contracted delivery company? But whatever it is, they definitely need to do something very quickly. Because quite frankly, I'm never going to order from them again. This is the third time that my food either went to the wrong hotel, or the driver sat on his butt in his car until I came outside to pick up the food, but that is all for me!

Olivia S.

Yelp
I ordered a pizza, ravioli and the garlic bread to go. The pizza and ravioli were great but the bread was very disappointing. The foil that the bread is wrapped in, was completely stuck in the middle of the bread and stuck to the cheese. It really sucked spending a portion of time getting it unstuck so I can enjoy the bread! If you order the bread to go....beware (see pic.) UPDATE: I decided to give Sal's another chance one year later and it's just gotten worse. I ordered a pizza with the combination platter (lasagna, cannelloni, manicotti.) The pizza had a huge blank/empty space in the middle which made it look completely unappetizing (there was nothing on the inside lid so this did NOT happen during transport.) Then, when I picked up a slice, all the toppings fell off. This happened every time I went in for a slice. The combination platter was basically a fat blob of everyrjing melted together. You couldn't even tell what was what. The best thing in the order ended up being the side salad. I have been to Sal's many times because I want to give them a chance but over the past year, it's gone downhill and has been moved to my "do not order from" list.

Roma B.

Yelp
Got takeout and the pizzas were mediocre, was expecting more. However, the portion sizes were huge for the price. Ordered the garlic bread with cheese, a Margarita pizza, and a customizable pizza (spinach, Alfredo, chicken, and jalepenos). The tomatoes on the Margarita pizza were sliced too big and had no flavor. The marina was not very flavorful either. The customizable pizza was better, the alfredo sauce brought all the ingredients together. The garlic bread with cheese was a long loaf and was really good.

Bill G.

Yelp
Ordered food for delivery on 12-21-20 The large meat lovers had no hamburger The margarita pizza had no basil The fettuccini had vegetables which that's a first The garlic cheese toast was cold & looked rushed The driver was very polite & that's my last time ordering there as my stomach has been upset all day as well

Alan N.

Yelp
This has to be one of the best Italian food restaurants in the metroplex. The food is outstanding and the portions are more then satisfactory. The staff is extremely attentive and caring. The prices are very good for what you get. This is a definite, "you should go", places and if you go say hi to Amy.

Monica M.

Yelp
Last minute group of 10 durring COVID and they were prepared. Food was delicious!!!! (To say the least) The house dressing is very very tasty and fresh lettuce!!! And the pizza was so good!!! Like super good!!! And idk what kind of sauce they use but I did not get heart burn. Which is super important for me!! Lol I plan to go back tomorrow.

Kenneth B.

Yelp
We haven't ordered from Sal's in at least 2 years, because of slipping quality of pizza production and delivery. Well, they are MAKING PIZZA GREAT AGAIN! Tip: order it half baked and uncut. When you are ready to enjoy slip pizza back in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. The crust comes out nice and crispy as if it just came out the brick oven.

Kathryn R.

Yelp
Just made a call to have a pizza delivered to my hotel room and whoever you have working the phone ....the young lady is the best.... 1/6/2021. She sounded busy and trying to focus on more then one thing and she was so sweet about it.

Rachel R.

Yelp
My supervisor ordered Sal's Pizza for our department on Thursday. The slices and pies were HUGE! We had 12 people and three pizzas fed all of us & we each had more than one slice. Portion wise, this was definitely worth it. Sal's loves their olives. I mean they have a romantic relationship with them because they were caked on our slices. My my favorite. But for an olive lover, this should be your spot. I enjoyed my lunch but I have had better pizza in the DFW area. This was good. I would come back, but it wouldn't make my top five list.
