Google
Very good food, CASH ONLY! Relleno burrito was a little on the small side but deliciously cheesy inside. Reminded me of a Jalapeno popper flavor, (specifically Jack in the Box but much better). I don't really mind the size at $4.50. Chicken taco was all white shredded meat... very nice quality meat, good taco sauce. Next time I'll ask if they have a hotter taco sauce, little more spice would be nice. Loses one star because it's cash only. At least get a Square or something, it's almost 2020! Good prices, good food. I'll be back to review this again for sure.

Google
bomb mexican food, w tamales too! everything tastes like it was made at home in the best way, small restaurant, nothing fancy but great service. close meter parking, downtown

April Frost

Google
Really good food. Beef tacos were a little greasy. Avocado pork taco was really good. All had lots of meat. Will go back again.

Google
i come here many times since i work downtown. Twice i have asked for chicken tacos. both times they have given me beef. not sure why, they were not busy. stinks to eat downtown ...so much for competency.

Google
Popped in for a mid morning snack... oh boy. I just found my new BF. Grabbed their avocado pork burrito smothered in their house green chilli. Outstanding. It was a little quiet but I'm told it can be fairly boisterous for lunch. Service like a quick snap and tasted sooo good! Cheers to Scott K and all at Salsa Latina!!!

Google
Excellent food, great staff, and reasonably priced. Best Mexican food in the Springs!!!💯💃🏽💃🏽❤️

Google
Not hard to find, and you walk right into the kitchen when you enter! Close quarters to sit, but quick and friendly service when ordering. The prices are very reasonable for the a la carte items. The burritos are not huge like other places you may have been, but enough for lunch. The food is standard mexican - good flavors. The beef burrito I had was made with ground beef mixed with refried beans in a somewhat dry flour tortilla.

Yelp
Order the avocado pork AP tacos Off menu The best tacos Ive had. The burrito was soggy

Yelp
Small, authentic Mexican food restaurant, with only eight tables and a couple of outdoor places to sit. This place is a favorite with many locals, so try to arrive when it is not busy lol. There is not a huge amount of parking, and there are only 8 tables and seating for about 24 people inside. We ordered chips and salsa and a couple of iced teas. I had the stacked enchilada casserole for one with cheese and onion enchiladas drowned in pork green chili. My husband had the crispy taco plate with shredded chicken. Both dishes were very tasty. One fun quirk is that all the salsa bottles are in a refrigerator near where you pick up food or get drinks. Iced tea and Pepsi products are available. Since my last visit, the restaurant has started serving in hard plastic, recyclable containers instead of the Styrofoam they used to use.

Yelp
This is my first review for any restaurant on this app and I've had yelp for years but salsa Latina is just wow.. some may consider it "traditional" Mexican food, which may be the case in Colorado Springs but anywhere else in the world it's anything but traditional. I ordered different types of their tacos and was not satisfied for the fact the tortillas were rough, the meat was bland and the salsa was basically ketchup. If I had to compare it to anything I'd compare it to a jack in the box disguised as a Mexican restaurant. Maybe my standards are high being from a different state but I was just not satisfied at all. Side note good service. Good ambiance. Food eh.

Yelp
This used to be my first stop when in Springs. This will be my last time coming. The food was bland the green chile was not spicy and had no flavor. I would not feed my dog this food. I am not sure what happened to the quality I once knew.
google avatar

Monika B.

Yelp
Admittedly we only ordered a slice of tres leche cake but that slice was delicious! So much so that we ordered a full cake to have for my husbands birthday. The cake is so moist (sorry for those of you who hate that word lol) and tasty. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Will need to come back and try some of the food as well.

Yelp
Avocado pork burrito. Handheld. Avocado pork burrito. Smothered. Avocado pork burrito. Handheld. Avocado pork burrito. Smothered.

Yelp
This family owned restaurant has been one of my favorites! They are all very pleasant to talk to! Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with the previous owner, Danny! It was nice to see he is still hanging around the place! By the way, I love the chicharrón smothered burritos! They are my fave! The other selections are amazing as well! Thank you all for providing delicious, authentic Mexican food!! Tina S. Colorado Springs

Yelp
I've always liked this place as it's been mostly satisfying but my last visit was pretty mediocre at best. I've heard grumblings since the management change and I have to say I agree that it is not as good as it used to be. I had the special of the day on a Friday, which was chile rellenos. The plate lacked flavor. The beans were bland and unseasoned and the chile relleno was bland and uninspiring as well as the green chile sauce. I'll probably go back and give it another shot, but I won't be eating the Friday special. I'd rate it a 4 out of 10.

Lori H.

Yelp
Amazing food. Friendly people. If you like El Taco Rey, you will love Salsa Latina. Small but really nice.

Manny G.

Yelp
Great food, especially if you are from New Mexico! Family is also friendly and nice to talk to! There are only 2 Mexican shops I go to, this place and The Rey truck. Love this food!
google avatar

Rick C.

Yelp
We came here on the recommendation of a local, who said it was the "same family" that had run El Taco Rey ,a long time local favorite, now closed due to owner retirement. My wife ordered a chicken taco salad, which after leaving we decided was actually chicken nachos. A deep bed of tortilla chips with a tiny bit of lettuce and other ingredients on top. She did say the chicken itself was very tasty, and she used the chips to scoop up all of that. I ordered a chicken chimichanga which was very tasty, and crispy, the way I like them. My only problem with that is that the entire plastic container it was served in was filled to the brim in the gravy they covered it with so the beans and the rice were completely submerged. If you like them that way great, I don't. Make up your own mind.

James B.

Yelp
Used to be my favorite Mexican food place. NO Longer, after change of management. The taste is inferior AND the staff are MUCH less friendly.
google avatar

Val C.

Yelp
Taco & Guadalajara- fast hole in the wall. Clean. And pretty good. Not much to look at- order as you walk in, grab hot sauce and wait. Excellent tea!

Bethany N.

Yelp
The avocado pork burrito is always a fave! I did a to go order during lunch and only waited a few minutes for my food. The staff was so friendly which is much appreciated these days.

Yelp
Nice to see good comfort food done well. Ambiance: I got take-out so I can't judge but inside looked like a pretty basic cantina. Was pretty full which was a good sign. My only complaint is that it closes too early. Service: Fast and helpful. Happy to accommodate a somewhat unusual order. Food: Excellent. I had a major hankering for a avocado pork burrito smothered in green chile. And it didn't disappoint. So good. It was a sizeable portion but somehow it disappeared before I knew it. Price: Way to cheap for the quality, but don't tell them I don't live in the Springs any more but any time I return I'm going here.

Gracie T.

Yelp
Love this place! I came here from out of town looking for a good mexican spot and this was exactly what I wanted. Green chile chicken enchiladas were so yummy and fresh. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Jake H.

Yelp
Came here as the reviews were pretty good and looked like a hidden gem. Overall the food was average but nothing to write home about. There are better mexican restaurants in the springs. The food came in styrofoam even dining in which makes cutting up food a hassle. Wont be returning.
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
This f**king place better stay open after the closing of El Taco Rey, an institution in this town forever. Thankfully the green chili lives on. It's literally the best there is. RIP Tamale Queen, and Salsa Latina, let's keep the goodness rolling!

Diane A.

Yelp
Delicious! food! They're not open weekends however, and will deliver when ordered via their website. HIGHLY recommend

Jay B.

Yelp
Great Tamales with Green sauce. Service was super friendly. Price point for the Tamale dinner might be a bit high but I'd still do it again

Ark K.

Yelp
Absolutely do NOT recommend!!! Horrible service, food and recipes! Very dated , uninviting decor and awkward seating arrangements. Much better cheaper places in this area!

Tony G.

Yelp
Good food, clean, and friendly staff. Green Chile was excellent. Definitely recommend it

Jodanna A.

Yelp
First time was good.Food was Authentic, price was average. Atmosphere was great.Staff was friendly.I recommend the pork and avocado burrito. My family will definitely be back for more.

Yelp
I dig this place. Everyone needs a hole in the wall taco joint in their life, and currently this is mine. This is a small family run place with great homemade food. The gringo style beef tacos are stepped up a notch with a homemade crispy shell. The green chile is more colorado style with pork and a serious amount of garlic, but it sure hits the spot. However, my go to order is the guac tostada with extra salsa. So simple and delicious! I wish they had longer hours - they close at 6:30 and closed on weekends- but these guys work their tails off, so i guess they deserve some time to rest ;)

Michael P.

Yelp
Place is solid gold? It's like going to your grandmas house for food lol. Very friendly, home cooked food. Burritos are small which I honestly love. You can order 2-3 of them and be good. I got the chicken one with no beans was pure quality shredded chicken. Great meal for some protein in my eyes.

Jody S.

Yelp
They have great New Mexican food. Friendly! Love their green Chile. Tacos and burritos and enchiladas are good too!
google avatar

Randy S.

Yelp
I eat here every day I am in town - sometimes twice a day. Always come back to this family owned, love infused, home made, Mexican food.

Brenda V.

Yelp
The food is delicious! Reputable and long-standing business. Great service as well. I will definitely continue to visit!
google avatar

Andrew F.

Yelp
It's like your at your grandmas.. they are really sweet here! Wish I could have tried the chili rellenos.. but they only have them certain days and they go fast. Try the red salsa, you will have to ask for the bottle!
google avatar

Renee F.

Yelp
Never disappoints!! This is a very nice family owned operation. The atmosphere is always clean and very friendly. Food is good quality, and is always hot and fresh. I did I say, I love their green chili! : )
google avatar

K G.

Yelp
The food was above average, but most importantly I don't feel completely stuffed like I usually do after eating Mexican food. Preferred the soft taco vs crispy, although the crispy shell is the best I've ever eaten!!
google avatar

Adriano V.

Yelp
Excellent Mexican kitchen. The owners are friendly and the food is excellent. My only complaint is that everything is served in styrofoam boxes and comes with plastic cutlery.

Geoff V.

Yelp
Great food at a fair price. I like the new management and will be visiting often for all the menu items.
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Big flavor, small portions. I think I could eat three of those avocado pork burritos but at 6 bucks a piece I probably shouldn't.

Vera G.

Yelp
We eat at Mexican style restaurants occasionally in various places from Hawaii to Florida. As far as I am concerned this restaurant has no rival. The closest is Yolo's in Las Vegas in Planet Hollywood. The smell is amazing when you enter the restaurant and that only sets the atmosphere, the prices aren't crazy and the food is absolutely amazing. The green chili is tasty and flavorful, I had the burrito dinner and it took me back to a restaurant of my younger days. My wife has eaten there a few times and said the enchiladas are great also, if it make her eyebrows sweat it's got to be good. I believe all the food is homemade. I will be going back this is well worth the trip. Thanks for the great meal.

Yelp
Only been here once but it was very good. Retried beans taste just right, rice is not overcooked and the pork burrito was fantastic. Just wish they gave me a bit larger portion. All in all, one of the best Mexican restaurants I've tried in the city.

Kammy F.

Yelp
A lovely mom & pap store. Love their tamales . They have a flavorful green sauce and a hot spicy red sauce. Pick either one according your preference, both of them are good.
google avatar

Steph's P.

Yelp
You'd hardly notice it wasthere nestled amongst small art and plant shops but it is a noce family run mexican place. The atmosphere is great and the tamales are truly home made and more authentic than what you can find at most chaon restaurants. When it coomes to it they are down home, simpleand the people who work there try their best to remember your face if not your name and are always willing to help you fogure out what to try if you want something new. They are so nice and I really can't say enough good things about it.

jbh 2.

Yelp
Absolutely loved Salsa Latina. The food was great, the setting was comfortable and the people who own it are as friendly and welcoming as you could ever ask for. I felt like I was eating in my grandmother's kitchen. I can't say enough good things about it.
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
I love this place! It's nothing fancy, but it is delicious. It's cash only, and you order at the counter and then pick up your food at the window. This place gets busy during the lunch hour, so try to come early or late to make sure you get a table! I've had the enchiladas, tostadas and tacos and all are great. I don't think you can go wrong here!

Jacob L.

Yelp
Tasty food, and such friendly people. Great red and green salsa. Would definitely recommend it.

Kristin H.

Yelp
Excellent food - we were looking for a place with good pork green chili sauce and this little place came up. The avocado pork burrito smothered in green chili sauce was so good. Great enchiladas, tasty homemade tortillas served with each meal. We watched a lady making tamales by hand on our way out and she mentioned to another customer that they sell them to go for freezing or making fresh at home. Cash only!
google avatar

Kurtis V.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible! About once every couple of months, I get this urge, and its for the AP from Salsa Latina! If you like good mexican food, this is your place!!!!!!
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
Holy guacamole! While I can't vouch for the entire menu, the pork green chili smothered pork-avocado burrito is unbelievable. It might actually be the miracle cure to many plagues and ailments. Salsa Latina is the sister restaurant to El Taco Rey. Kinda like a redneck family tree, it's all in the family. Couple things to remember: Small dining room. CASH ONLY!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Wonderful small Mexican cafe, soon as you walk you see everyone cooking. The rice is amazing and what I grew up with in a small Hispanic town. Beans are homemade. Thursday and Friday are chili rellenos days. I'm afraid to give this place up, because now it will get more popular, but it is amazing. No wine or beer, but who needs it with amazing food? Hours are M-F 10-5. Forgot the hours for Saturday, possibly closed. Seating is limited. Come very early or late. I've heard of lines out the door.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
Went there for lunch for the first. The favor was great but found the portions to be extremely small.
google avatar

Corey M.

Yelp
Wow, I feel like such a (insert favorite expletive here) for living here since '96 and eating here for the first time in 2012! Don't share my mistake!! Go now!! Really? still reading? OK... It's authentic food, and another example of the world of difference made by the owners actually running the joint day to day (Walter's? Nemo's? Little Nepal?) I had the Avocado Pork burrito with green chile and I thank God only my co-worker and the owners were there to hear my mouth orgasm noises. Did I mention CHEAP??? OK, yes. It's small. They only take cash. Dinner ends at 6:30. They don't work weekends. so what???
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Salsa Latina is tiny, people are packed shoulder to shoulder during lunch to place their order at the counter and then fight for one of 5 tables, otherwise you have to take it to go. But it is worth it! I had the Pork Avocado tacos, Spicy pork and guac in a warm corn tortilla, YUM! I also had the Mexican Chicken gumbo, I was less impressed with this dish, I didn't know exactly what it was going to be, but it sounded good on a cold Winter day. It's basically, rice, beans, shredded chicken smothered in green chili, it's not bad, just unremarkable. I'll be going back to try out the enchiladas, the tamales and menudo (only available the first Tuesday of the month). Salsa Latina accepts phone orders, I'l do this next time to avoid the wait/crowd.
google avatar

Yelp
First off, no 5 stars only because this is my first visit. I would order everything on the menu based upon the pork/avocado burrito smothered with green chile. Succulent is the only description that fits. Pork melts in your mouth, perfectly seasoned. Green chile is very saucy but delicious. Ordered a side of red sauce just to try it -- equally different, equally good. This place seems to be the real deal food-wise. Nice atmosphere, really nice proprietors. Looking for good lunch? Check it out, you will leave with a happy tummy.
