Where To Eat Outside In Fort Worth - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Tacos are an essential part of eating in Texas, and while there are several great options for tacos in the Fort, our favorite spot is Salsa Limón for their straightforward Mexico City-style tacos. Of their six locations around town, we recommend the Distrito location for its lively front patio. Make sure to order the carne asada street tacos, and definitely a few Topo Chicos and extra crema. There are great salsa options, including a mild salsa verde and a spicy habanero that’s not for the faint of tongue (hence the Topo Chico)." - emily smith

Me and my husband wanted to try this place out. Soooo overpriced. 1 taco was 4.50. Because of that we decided to get the Malca bowls. I noticed that the majority was rice and beans, barely adding any meat and toppings . We are huge foodies and eat at MANY places. I ordered a Horchata with my meal. It was 4.75. At other places they give me a huge styrofoam cup (32-44) ounces . This place gave me the smallest cup for almost 5 dollars and have to pay for a refill!! Also didn’t even taste homemade. Or look like it. Just tasted like cream. If you want to spend a lot of money for boring food … this is the place !

Google
First time visiting this lovely little spot off of White Settlement. Grabbed a couple of breakfast Tacos and some salsa to go ..... fresh tortillas and amazingly flavorful barbacoa and adana meats. Their two green sauces were also amazing. Can't wait to go back to try more and sit on the cute patio.

Google
Double check before you leave, the past couple of times we have ordered the queso appetizer this location has “skimped” us on queso. Instead of a full size, they gave us one that can’t feed more than one person. It’s queso… come on, why are we being stingy with our serving sizes. Would’ve asked for more to feed our family if I knew this before getting home. You can see the full size salsa vs what they think is a full size queso

Alex M.

Google
Ordered two barbacoa quesedilla plates and they were all tortilla and cheese with a sprinkle of meat. I mean hardly anything. Basically a tortilla with melted cheese and a literal sprinkle of meat. Worst quesadillas I've had from a restaurant. Sadly. 😔 😥

Google
Ordered online for takeout, no way to actually modify ur meal or in my case my bowl. I paid the extra money for extra meat and add ons ( did not get them) it gave me an option for no cilantro so I chose it. They completely left off the cabbage slaw that comes in the bowl, they did not put the cheese and sour cream I paid for. So I basically had a plate with rice beans and asada with none of the extra amount paid for. I attempted to call the store when I got home, it says press 2 for a human. Pressed 2 and then it says sorry we are busy but u can leave a message. So I’m guessing no one actually answers the phone business hours because it also tells u to place ur orders online or app. It’s just annoying because my 2 bowls went $40 plus a $5 tip and I cant even get ahold of anyone to correct my order. Not worth the hassle I’ll prob never eat here again.

Google
Such a great spot for quick, hot...and oh so tasty Mexican food! Dine in, or outside...day or night. I had a couple taco's, black beans...and cabbage with a very cold beer. My food was ready before my wallet returned to it's rightful place...my pocket. Amazing, but better yet, was my dining experience outside on a simple but clean table. The soft warm evening breeze went perfect with the house music. Had the place to myself, so I wasn't shy about moving to it! My tacos and black beans were soooo flavorful, not too spicy at all, which I like, then you can taste the meat and pork. The green salsa is killer! So glad it's close to home.

Google
Salsa Limón Distrito, located in the River District area of Fort Worth, is one of our favorite places to get breakfast tacos. While we personally prefer their breakfast food, they also serve lunch and dinner. This location also offers happy hour, Monday - Friday from 4:00 - 6:00, and includes drink specials on imported beer, domestic beer, margaritas, cocktails and a handful of other specialties including shots, Wine, Champagne, Vodka, Rum and Tequila. Because everything is completely customizable, there are many options for both Vegans and Vegetarians. They offer Tacos, Capitan, Quesadillas, Burritos, Tortas, Mocal bowls, Salads, Breakfast Tacos, Breakfast Burritos, Migas, Breakfast Bowls, Salsas, rice, dips, chips… even family packages to feed larger crowds. We always get the potato breakfast tacos with cheesy, creamy mashed potato’s. You have the option to add many different toppings to whatever you get: crema, guacamole, breakfast meats, eggs, cilantro, onions, jalapeños, pickled cabbage, tomatoes, rice and beans - both refried and black. Pros: Use the Salsa Limón app to save your favorite orders and skip the line while earning rewards for free food/drinks! They have a wonderful salsa bar where you can pick your favorite level of spicy salsa for your meal. We love their outdoor patio area with the enormous oak trees and picnic style tables. There’s an oversized yellow chair for picture opportunities, a large green space for kids to run and play outside and two tree swings hanging from the magnificent trees for the kiddos. Cons: The restaurant is very small and crowded inside with only a few tables and some bar style seating along the wall by the bathroom. They removed the outdoor tent, but replaced it with small table umbrellas, so finding shade outside is an option again. There’s only one tiny unisex bathroom inside and there’s usually always a line, but the food is well worth the inconvenience! Suggestions for the restaurant: Please consider adding a utensil dispenser and water cups by the salsa bar so that customers can get what they need for their meal without having to get back in line when something is left out of their order. 😁

Google
Had a great time here. The pastor didn’t speak to me but it was my friend’s favorite he ever had. I loved the asada though. The lolita and quesadilla are solid orders too. Staff is patient and polite. Loved my experience here.

Yelp
Price for amount of food was definitely on the not worth it scale. Food quality was not what it used to be. Service was not great. Tables outside were filthy. Feral cat outside trying to catch mice and birds. Indoor seating was very limited and even then the inside was smoky. We would not recommend this location and we will not be back.

Yelp
I used to love coming to Salsa Limón. One of the best parts was the walk-up salsa bar -- it gave the place its name, its vibe, and that extra something that made it stand out from every other taco spot in town. But sadly, that's no longer the case. They recently did away with the self-serve salsa bar, and now you have to ask for salsa -- and they hand you a tiny to-go cup. It feels like a step backward, not just in service, but in experience. That generous, choose-your-own-salsa charm? Gone. Now it's just like any other place... only with less salsa. It's disappointing to see such a unique spot lose what made it special. Will definitely be rethinking future visits -- not so much Salsa Limón anymore... more like "Here's your little cup and good luck."

Yelp
I had high hopes but unfortunately the tacos and drinks were a miss. We came with a large party on a day that I think the staff were already pretty overwhelmed. They were all very nice and accommodating to us. My only complaints were that the tortillas were very undercooked and the spicy margaritas tasted very watered down with lots of huge chucks of jalapeños floating around. I wouldn't recommend. On the plus side, Their outdoor seating is cute with plenty of areas to seat large parties.

Yelp
Delicious food & vibrant service!!!! Casual atmosphere.....perfect for relaxed dining ~

Yelp
This is one of my go-to places for tasty tacos in the DFW area, and I even bring friends from out of town. The El Capitan with asada is very good, and it pairs nicely with the horchata. The guacamole and chips are also delicious. The staff are always courteous and helpful, and will even bring your food to the outside tables. Overall this place looks like a hole in the wall joint, but the food is top notch!
google avatar

Crissy T.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite lunch places. I stop often at work. Sometimes the chips are stale. Other than that the food is really good....now they did strart charging for salsa that used to be free. Kind of fustrating but I still went back. But if you're going to charge for salsa that used to be free. Please fill the cups! This is only like 1/4 full. I order a bunch of extra salsa and was very annoyed when I went to go eat and they're barely half full!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little taco shop near downtown Fort Wort. Staff was great, everyone was very helpful when ordering and nice. I'm not sure why this place has this average 3.5 star rating because I thought the food was tasty! 5 stars in my eyes. Tip: get a burrito and get it with everything.
google avatar

Danny M.

Yelp
I was greeted with, "yes?" That will be my last time spending any money at salsa limon. I'm there to spend money not ruin your day
google avatar

Terry J.

Yelp
Food is excellence but the service is BAD! We ordered a chicken burrito, bean and cheese burrito and a LARGE queso to go. The queso was only half full. 2nd time. Hopefully this gets the owners attention!

Emerald H.

Yelp
I paid $5.25 for this one bacon and egg breakfast taco. Not worth the money. Low quality.
google avatar

Ben G.

Yelp
Migas were spot-on. Beautiful day to sit outside. Everyone left happy. Meant to order lemonade but was happy with sodas. Salsa could be drunk from cup it was so good.
google avatar

Catherine R.

Yelp
Tacos were nasty and grease dripping off - my barbocoa taco was inedible! It was dirty on the inside and my mom sent her $8 margarita back because it was basically water and lime juice. The only good thing was their chips and Queso. Sangria was also $8 and it was basically red wine and sprite with no ice.

Yelp
I loved salsa Limón. This is the first time going to this location. So I hope the other locations haven't changed in quality or menu. Here they do not serve lingua or tripe. Here it's more food truck style. They moved their original building here and set up a food truck outside for the alcohol. So you have to order separately. There was a lot of back and forth confusion. My torta was disappointing. It was not a lot of meat or inside topping. The bread was soggy and stale. My friend had their breakfast bowl and a taco, seemed alright. They pad all their food with a lot of beans, little meat. The drinks were super low in alcohol. I almost felt tricked my rumchata may not have had any. You have to go out to the food truck and order alcoholic drinks separately. She was working the bar herself, so it was extremely backed up. The bar set up was kind of chaotic. There was no organized system so drinks were slow going. The tables outside were dirty. No one cleans them as far as we can tell. Maybe once at the end of the night. Here's to hoping my fav location at the square is better.

Yelp
Legit food-just quit the rainbow nonsense. It keeps some folks from wanting to come back.

John B.

Yelp
Ordered double rice. Did not receive double rice, instead got the normal beans and rice. Didn't receive jalapeños In my burrito after adding them. All the soft drinks carbonation were out and tasted awful. Ended up getting water. No refund was offered even though I told them about the order and drinks. The overall experience was not very good. Will not be back

Yelp
Great tacos and guacamole that are consistently well cooked and seasoned. Nothing fancy but incredibly good.

Yelp
It's a Fort Worth staple! I've eaten at all the locations now, and they each taste the exact same: fresh n' full of flavor. It's always my go-to spot if I have family or friends coming in from out of town! We've all ordered different things, but nobody has ever left disappoint. :D Particularly, I like this location for the space. It's the perfect outdoor atmosphere for a family hang or casual quick date night. I, also, feel like you could easily host a birthday party or group dinner here where the other locations are not set up for that kind of event. I say this, because I've tried. If it's your first time, I highly recommend the El Capitan with whatever protein is your favorite. I'll typically do Asada, Pollo or Black Bean Vegetarian with Avocado!
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
I've found myself coming back a couple times a month most recently. Seems like they've gotten back to normal. Love their breakfast bowl. And the staff is nice again. This all makes me happy!

Molly Z.

Yelp
One of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had for sure. Cute space and loved the salsa choices. SO good. Not understanding the low stars.
google avatar

Mia B.

Yelp
I go to Salsa Limon about every other week. Their migas are delicious. The service is great and food comes out quick. I love to sit outside and I love the giant chair that my friends and I can take pictures on.

Kylie C.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Service awful. I didn't want to leave a review but it keeps happening and I think for the betterment of the location, new staff would be beneficial. One time I came and wasn't acknowledged whatsoever, as well as 3 other people waiting behind me, for 15 minutes. If you're busy then say that but acting like we don't exist is crazy. They often give looks to each other and whisper. It's just overall uneasy. It's better to just eat outside! I will always love salsa but I avoid this location. This current visit, I watched as they snickered rudely at a customer asking them for the chips and queso which they forgot ... it's just sad like they hate their job!
google avatar

Yelp
Breakfast taco, plain ..egg & bacon. Iced Coffee with Stevia. It's JUNE & it's hot!

Johnny L.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon downtown with our dog. Being hungry and craving a margarita and some chips, I happened to see Salsa Limon nearby so we stopped by. Something I really regret doing. The cashiers were rude and service slow. We ordered margaritas and after tasting them, we were extremely disappointed. I asked the bartender if it's possible to exchange our drinks since the taste was very off. The bartender stopped me to taste it first and said it tasted fine to him. Then said he had to ask the manager, which is fine, then volunteered to make a margarita on the rocks. I politely asked for other drinks and looked very annoyed. I don't like giving Latino owned restaurants bad reviews, but with the drinks subpar, service terrible, and food lacking it seems like there's much room for improvement. Edit: I visited the Fort Worth location. I work in White Settlement so I'd be happy to give your location another try.

Leann L.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a quick bite before walking on the trail was delicious. Got a chicken burrito took 4 mins to come out was so quick. They have the best salsa green / red I've ever had taste the freshest and most real. My camera didn't eat first.

Tisha C.

Yelp
I had heard good things about the food here so I was excited to try it out. The lady closest to the register acknowledged me when I walked in and told me they would be there to help in a minute which was fine since it was my first time in and was deciding what to order. She was prepping salsa cups and continued to fill up the cups while I stood there after deciding. Then she completed some orders in the food prep line, then took food to customers. All my the while the line is growing. After waiting 7-8 minutes for someone to take my order I left. And she never changed gloves after walking outside to deliver orders touching the door that customers had touched. If they are too busy to take orders, they should have a POS that allows you to place the order yourself. And salsa cups should be filled when customers aren't waiting at the counter for service or before opening. Terrible customer service!
google avatar

Bec S.

Yelp
Ordered online and it said ready in 10 min. I had filled out my cc card. But when picked up not there so checked my order (on yelp) and was showing to pay. Already did that at home. So waiting now. It is the best place though. Kids love the breakfast tacos.

Bradley W.

Yelp
I want to start off on saying the food here is great, but the people that work the front is awful. I live across the street, and every single time they're just rude. Forget to give me a drink, and then ask for it and then they act like I'm trying to get it for free. Just the way you're treated makes you feel really uncomfortable.
google avatar

Kadoria I.

Yelp
The queso was so delicious! I also love how fresh their cabbage is and the variety of sauces that range in spice. The Capitàn, granjero style, was really good. The margarita was just ok; I actually wasn't sure if it even had tequila. However, the covered eating outside was a plus.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Well here i am again at salsa limon distrito and again just disappointed in everything except the burrito which is the sole reason i even come back here. A bought a single bottle of beer $5 ? That's ridiculous especially when they already charge $8 for the burrito. The prices are high, the bar cart is never open, there are flying insects all over the patio area. I really wish they would put more focus on this location cause it's underutilized badly and it's sad and lazy of the owner, this place could be awesome but it's just not at all. Your not missing anything if you skip this place
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Great portions, authentic food and quick service. No complaints! The ingredients were fresh and the taco I had was filling. I asked the cashier what I should get and she didn't hesitate to give me several options, love that!

Adrianne C.

Yelp
food always tastes good. But I went in tonight, and the girl there was extremely $hitty. Her whole demeanor had an attitude. I asked for a margarita, and she said they only had frozen and I said do you have on the rocks, she said yes, frozen and on the rocks. Um, what?? Got a margarita, taste like maybe they didn't put any tequila in it. Told me where my food was when it was ready, in a rude voice. The horchata Sucked. When they brought me up my daughters taco, which I asked for meat and cheese only, it was all the way. Whenever I told them of their mistake, of course she seemed extremely put out. I really wish that I hadn't have tipped beforehand. By then I looked at the time and realize I thought that they were closing at nine, but they really were closing at eight, which was in about three minutes. MY BAD. Maybe that's why she tried to get me to take my margarita to go, if that is even legal?? Damn the food here is good but as someone who's been in the service industry for a long time, I can't stand people are rude as hell for no reason, especially to someone who is tipping and struggling trying to wrangle a baby and small child.
google avatar

Shane F.

Yelp
We went out here after a long time to sit outside and enjoy a quick meal (back in mid summer). The tables were spaced apart appropriately, and the staff were all observing correct guidelines, including good mask use and glove use. Guests appeared to be spacing appropriately too. I ordered "carbless" taco plates, with a breakfast taco and a taco al pastor. Both were pretty close to the usual salsa limon quality, although for some reason the flavors were not as intensely present as the downtown branch. The patio was lovely, with the string lights adding a nice "magical" quality. One thing that does not seem to be well coordinated is the liquor/bar truck outside, and the poor bartender had to go back and forth from the main building to restock ice etc, which dramatically added to wait time. Still, kudos for her hard work and managing to deal with the unusual circumstances.

Yelp
Love the new location Same amazing tacos same friendly people. Just can't go wrong with anything at this gem of a Fort Worth taco joint

Nikki V.

Yelp
I was visiting from California and this is probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! If you're looking for authentic Mexican food (not Tex mex BS) then this is the place! Get the green salsa!
google avatar

Earl D.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the freshly squeezed oranges for our Mimosa. The Burritos were Big and Delicious. I ordered the potato, Egg and Bacon one. Very recommended.
google avatar

Sheree Z.

Yelp
A very big mom and pop kind of shop. A bit run down and the burrito was decent but I don't know if I would pay $10+ for a burrito. Good experience. Just not wowed.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Salsa Limon will always have my heart. Super clean and delicious food with an expansive menu that's all authentic and delicious. Tasty Margs as well is a must and the atmosphere is simple. Great outdoor seating area with a tiny indoor area inviting you to enjoy the sunshine as much as possible. And the staff couldn't be more friendly. It is dangerous that this place is literally right outside my window. Looking at this place every day is not particularly good for my wallet. Ha! Give them a visit and thank me later!

Brianna C.

Yelp
Food was amazing, decently priced and fast service. We went for dinner and there was no wait. As soon as we walked in we were welcome by all the staff.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
The best steak burrito in ft worth hands down. Tacos are ok but I can't stress enough how amazing the burritos and rice and beans are.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
i've came here twice and have received awful service. the people that work here and the cooks are all rude. Food is mediocre, tried to give it a chance but the service and price point is a no for me. Would rather go to my near by taco truck.
google avatar

Cameron N.

Yelp
This place used to be awesome, they were one of the few places you could get tripe tacos and a great margarita, but since covid they took a hard turn for the worse. For one they got rid of the tripe, no big deal but dang. Secondly the customer service is completely gone. They almost seem annoyed we're trying to get food there. We asked for adult beverages, and to quote the girl taking our order "ok, but it's going to take a while to make them". Also say they serve breakfast "all day", but my wife tried to order breakfast and they said they don't serve breakfast at night. The food is really good, but the attitude is a big deterrent.
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
Fun little place to Stop for lunch. Enjoyed eating outside. The burrito was large and delicious. Street tacos were on point. Chips were crispy and fresh. Definitely coming back

Callie W.

Yelp
Still one of our favorite eats in Fort Worth! Updated to say the campeon is my new favorite thing to get here.
google avatar

Kim K.

Yelp
Cute little place to go for tacos. They have excellent tacos, however it is quite noisy in the food trucks were not open the day I was there even though they were supposed to be. This is a fun little place to go for some tacos and a beer
google avatar

Judy P.

Yelp
Love this place. I've been a long time follower since their spot on W 7th. Probably my fave taco place of all time in the area. Everything is always made super fresh and the selection of salsa they have is great for any level of spicy you want. THAT PICKLED CABBAGE THO!!!! Love how big and open their new patio is and that they have a "drink truck" out side now. Strawberry margs are the best! Nice and strong. Nice and super chill place to just sit, relax, and enjoy some good food. And Friday night they have karaoke .
google avatar

Geanna C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the taco & spicy margarita w/agave out on patio. Great vibes, too! Imagined this with its music & Im sure pre Covid, it was a happening place! If restrooms were clean (like the smell of bleach) I could give it another star. I'll be back.
google avatar

Ricki R.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast tacos and fell in love with this place! Great breakfast tacos made to order with a variety of homemade salsas to choose from. Migas, burritos and other things are on the menu as well. There is indoor dining and a great patio that is dog and child friendly! We hope to be back soon!

Ashley F.

Yelp
The food is great and fresh. Customer service is always good, but wish the workers will wear hairnets like they are supposed to. They do have a decent little outside eating area when there is nice weather.

Kerri B.

Yelp
We used to come get lots! The El Campeon is still a good bet although it's gotten waaay smaller. I got the chicken burrito and it was basically a rice and bean burrito. So sad. Increase the price AND add value. You've just increased the price.
