"It’s not a trip to Steamboat without a quick pit-stop at Salt & Lime. Pitchers of margaritas set the stage for flavor-packed tacos served on rustic boards, such as al pastor with salsa verde and piña fresca, drizzled with a lime crema." - Josie Sexton, Lucy Beaugard

World class service for a small business! The food and drinks are amazing and it comes out quick. Highly recommend their perfect spicy margarita. You'll meet the owner every once in a while too because he'll work the tables or counters and chat with you. Highly recommend this place. It never disappoints every time I eat here.

Google
Sublime house marg on the rocks with salt for lunch was a Mud Season special! Nicky our waitress asked about allergies and handled it very professionally. She added a great down-to-earth vibe to this popular place that long-time locals like me & my daughter love to treat ourselves to also. The beer-battered fish tacos are The Best outside of Baja with their own special (and healthy) Steamboat style.

Google
The food is amazing! Great services as well, we tried their tacos, queso and everything was very tasty and delicious. Good prices too!

Google
Food is really good here! Got the Naked guac and it was average but the chips were seasoned really well! Birria taco plate was awesome! The sauce had a ton of flavor and the beef was tender and fell apart. We also got fish tacos and everyone loved them as well

Allison Grier

Google
Service staff was amazing and attentive and on the ball!! The food… yummo the food. Loaded guacamole was guac to the max and the flavors! I had three tacos, in the order of my preference would be bison, shrimp, fish! My son let it slip that it was my birthday and they brought out a plate of churros and sauces with a HB message on it!! Like I already said-attentive! Can’t wait to come back and hit this place again!! Oh and the drinks… perfection!

Google
"I had an incredible dining experience at Salt & Lime in Steamboat Springs! The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish burst with fresh flavors, especially the tacos, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself has a fantastic vibe, with a stylish and comfortable setting that made the meal even more enjoyable. Everything was top-notch, and I can’t wait to come back. Five stars without a doubt!"

Google
We had a farm to table experience today. We were out at Lucky 8 Ranch who recommended the place. Right on Lincoln so it was convenient. Little hard for large parties such as ours since it was late for lunch. Quick service with a smile and good food with a bite. Had to share the bison burrito. The tacos were popular with our group.

Google
We stopped in here by chance on a ski trip in steamboat. Our server was Kim. She was wonderful. Very efficient, attentive and sweet. Highly recommend this place. The food was great. We had the beef enchiladas the chicken enchiladas and they also have a choice of three items which I did not partake in. But somebody at our table did and they liked. Their guacamole is great. Their salsa assortment is fantastic and my friend says the tacos are the bomb.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended by locals in the town of Steamboat. Its a little storefront in town. It has a very airy bright feel with a glass storefront..Inside is a bar and some tables (pic) and chairs my guess is seats for maybe 50. The staff is super cool Accomodating and friendly. The menu is your typical mexican fare with tacos..burritos..nachos etc....we all went with different types of tacos and we were all very pleased.. .Food was good prices affordable and prices fair. They also have clean accesible bathrooms..I would definetely plot a visit if I am ever in the area again

Yelp
I'm giving this place 2 stars. Here are the main reasons. The Good - The food was quite good. The poppers were awesome. The tacos were good not great. - The ambiance in the restaurant seemed really cool. - The food was ready (kinda) at the time we asked to pick it up. The Bad - They have actual children working the front seating and to-go area. I'm talking real 12-16 year olds. Two of them. One male, one female. They were nice. However, when they brought out the food it seemed kind of light. We were missing our liter of margaritas. They had to go back and get it for us. Then the worst of it... we got back home and they had forgotten our cheesy rice order and our bean order. They're very proud of those beans and rice as evidenced by the $6.25 price on each. So no rice/beans but also out over $12! - They charge you an astronomical $8.00 for chips and salsa. What a joke. - There is a hidden "convenience fee" of $7 when you order online. It's on your receipt but other than that you're never told about it. Summary Food was good but because of hidden fees and missing items we paid for it's a 2 star. Probably should be 1 star, honestly, but I've never given a bad yelp review in my life and don't want my first negative review to be a 1 star.

Yelp
Best Mexican food ever. Absolutely delicious I had birria tacos that were divine and so tasty, and the chips and salsa was delicious too

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Came here after being recommended by local. It was cute and we appreciated the taco choices. We were a little disappointed to not be able to get a side of queso but it wasn't the end of the world. The tacos were good. They were expensive but hey, as to be expected in a ski town. My real complaint was that the server gave me an incorrect taco and was pretty nonchalant about it with no offer to fix her mistake. I thought I was biting into a shrimp taco, not a fish one. The salsa had a nice kick to it and the location of this restaurant was very convenient. Well give it another go the next time we're in town and in the mood for tacos and try again.

Kaitlin S.

Yelp
They open right at noon, the door doesn't get unlocked a minute earlier! We had reservations and were seated right away. Dylan was our waitress and she was friendly. The tacos were good, my favorite was the camarónes (shrimp). The restaurant was nice. It wasn't super loud at lunch time.

Rhiannon N.

Yelp
I read on Pinterest this is a must do in Steamboat and they weren't lying! The enchiladas come in a skillet fyi! Tacos are amazing! And the dos salsa appetizer is amazing! Sit on top to view downtown, but obviously if it's winter inside is awesome too! Are server I want to say Amber... she was amazing! Thank you for the soda water to clean my daughters new dress!

Richard N.

Yelp
In a cozy little town we walked up to this Mexican restaurant and were sold on the interior decorations. The modern decor with light colors welcomed us straight to the bar seats as the baseball game was on TV (there are two). The main entrance is the way into the dining area with booths, high tops, and the bar seating. Though, it looked like there's an entire second room and rooftop area that were both closed at this time. When we came in, it was happy hour (3:30pm-5:30pm daily) and we indulged: $1 off beers, $8 casa margaritas, $4 tacos. We got bison tacos, chicken tinga tacos, pescado fresco and shrimp blt tacos. All were very good. And also, all the food orders came out very quickly. Very efficient service!

Amy S.

Yelp
Great find in a beautiful mountain town. Spicy, flavorful, Mexican fare and tasteful, creative restaurant decor.

Athena M.

Yelp
Fairly limited menu but enough of veggie options to be a viable choice. The cauliflower and fried avocado tacos were delicious! We had the skillet corn to start which was just okay. I guess I expected it more roasted with some char which it didn't have. You can get guacamole as a side if you just want to try a little instead of getting it as a starter since $12.99 seemed a little spendy. Overall a pretty good experience and the decor is great. I love the wall donkey made of upcycled materials!

Ellen D.

Yelp
We had the chips and red salsa. The salsa was delicious and clearly made fresh. The chips perfectly seasoned. We had the pozole - delicious and the kale & arugula salad with chicken. The salad was terrific with a variety of fresh vegetables and nuts. The chicken was just a bit spicy and juicy. What a fantastic meal! The restaurant was full and there were a lot of families with children, so it was very noisy. If you are looking for a quiet meal, I would caution you that it was loud.

Julie D.

Yelp
Came to Salt & Lime upon entering Steamboat Springs. The vibe inside is very cool - like modern chic western. I started with the house margarita and the queso. The margarita was perfect, it was what I needed after the drive in. The queso was solid but not the star of the meal. For my entree I got the three tacos - barbacoa, bison, and carne asada. They were all delicious but the carne asada was amazing. I would get the carne asada again, and again, and again. SO GOOD! The staff also got us seated promptly and were great. They brought us out extra water pitchers and were on top of things. Would come back!

Yelp
Great evening on the patio (order at the window) at Salt & Lime. Franco was working the window and he was super friendly, and had great suggestions. Ordered- guacamole, the barbacoa enchiladas, 3 tacos (camarones fritos, chorizo vampire, and al pastor) a spicy margarita, and a michelada. Everything was good - especially the camarones fritos taco. Thank you to Franco for suggesting it! Nice little quick spot for some good eats.

Evelyn M.

Yelp
This was FABULOUS! We started with the Quattro queso and then a selection of tacos from taco options! The drinks ( loved the fruitia margarita) were strong and delivered quickly. We really appreciated the service and the great atmosphere!

Adrián L.

Yelp
Loved the tacos and burritos. Margaritas were also really good. Service was really nice. The chips and guac was also really good.

Denneane C.

Yelp
The outdoor street food bar is awesome! If you don't want the hours long wait to get into the dining room the service, food and atmosphere is excellent! We typically make a reservation but today the wait was two hours so we went to the outdoor window for $5 tacos.

Yelp
AMAZING TACOS! We found this restaurant during our recent Colorado trip and we're off to a great start! Salt & Lime is conveniently located in the heart of Steamboat Springs near the ski resort area. It has a relaxing atmosphere and great vibe. Our server was attentive to our needs and also made some good recommendations. We had the "Nutty Greens" salad as a starter - it's refreshing and the portion is HUGE!!! Then, we had some tacos - Chorizo Vampiro, Bison, and Pescado Fresco (fish). The fish taco (and we chose grilled fish) was our favorite - the pineapple and onion added some complexity to the flavor. We finished our night with the Duck Tamale (off menu item recommended by our server). We had no idea what it was and still has no idea afterward - bottom line is... IT TASTES AWESOME, so give it a try! :) We definitely hope to have a chance to visit Salt & Lime again when we're in the area next time!

Abigail G.

Yelp
We went here for a bachelorette party dinner and the tacos were so good! We got tacos, gauc, burritos, and churros. The service was great and the drinks were also very good. This def lives up to the hype of Mexican food in Colorado.

Alisa J.

Yelp
The food and drinks were all great. We tried the spicy marg (caliente), Paloma, and frozen marg. All of the drinks were fantastic. The chips and salsa were delicious but the portion was small although they do give you a ton of chips. The chips were fantastic as well. We tried different tacos (steak, chorizo, fish, bison) the birria tacos, and the beef enchiladas. All the food was filling and really good. We were all full afterwards. Thé enchiladas were very rich and might have been too cheesy but still delicious. The sauce for the birria tacos was to die for. Our service also was pretty good considering how packed it was. Definitely make a reservation because it's very crowded. Overall would love to dine there again and would recommend

Daniel E.

Yelp
Great family restaurant with wonderful.friendly service amd fantastic food! My party all had different versio s of their tacos and all were great!!

Ali W.

Yelp
Food: - Asked before we ordered if the chicken tinga taco was pulled chicken. Answer was yes. Asked if the corn side special was on or off the Cobb. Answer was off. Received the chicken tinga barely pulled and the corn ON the Cobb. - Also ordered the bean queso fundido -- specifically ordered it instead of the veggie fundido because I'm not a big fan of tomato's and the veggie fundido looked the same except it had tomatoes. Received it and there was tomatoes. No where in the description did it say tomatoes even though the one listed right above it listed tomatoes. So weird! - The barbacoa taco had great flavor. Delicious - Bean fundido was good but very bean forward vs cheese forward Service: - Attentive in the right ways. Ambience: Cute interior vibes.

Jeffery Z.

Yelp
Food was extremely average. Queso was ok tacos were meh guacamole was good and Barbacoa quesadillas were also good. The issue was is everything is extremely expensive for no reason. The portions are not very large and the food is not good enough to make everything that expensive. Me and my girlfriend ended up spending 104 dollars here and I walked out with a frown on my face. The only reason this place is getting 3 stars instead of 2 is because I am giving it the benefit of the doubt because I am from Houston which is known for its good Mexican food. This town has better restaurants that you should spend your money at.

Sara K.

Yelp
4.8 Food and views were amazing. Highly recommend the carne asada taco and salsa duo. Service was okay

Alee R.

Yelp
The service: great The ambiance: casual dining with less than casual prices The food: mediocre at best We came in midday, mid-week in the middle of summer. It wasn't busy and we wanted to escape the heat. They've done a nice job with the bar and I anticipate the major draw is the nice patio on the roof (which we chose not to sit at). The vibe is definitely lunch-casual and we expected the food to be mountain town expensive but were hoping to have a decent first meal in steamboat . The server was personable and friendly and it seemed like the servers were all there because they genuinely liked working together. Love that! Woo hoo for liking your coworkers and being good at your job. Got the jalapeño poppers app, which was fine. Didn't really taste the canned pineapple under the bbq like sauce. 5/10 arbitrary stars. Got the limeade, which was just ok for simple syrup lime and some raspberry flavoring.. what did I expect for 6$ I don't know, but I was hoping for more lime. 6/10 Got the tacos, all of which were covered in a generic crema sauce. They're going for fancy Tex mex tacos, but instead of that, they're producing indistinguishable flavors and slathering it with some basic mayo sauce. 2/10 This technique is similar to what the super market does with sushi... they get some store stable ingredients that taste pretty terrible on their own and add sriracha mayo to it so it tastes like... mayo. However, salt and lime has almost done the opposite. They have half decent ingredients in their tacos, they're just trying to add it all together without considering what flavor they want to elevate and therefore nothing tastes good, it all tastes like taco mush, which could be fine if you like that... but not for small portions, mediocre meat and cold tortillas. If you like food, don't go here. If you have money and are just looking to fill your stomach be my guest.

Yelp
Me and my 8 family members came here the other day for lunch and had a great time. We were 30 minutes early but still promptly sat in the back room which was a nice touch. The service was great. We ordered drinks which we thought were just okay. We started with the 4 cheese queso, regular guacamole and the loaded guacamole. The loaded guacamole was the stand out to me and my family loved the queso. The chips where also flavored nicely. We then ordered our entrees. I got the bison burrito which is not what I would typically go for but was fantastic. The sauce was good and there was some crispy pieces in the burrito which gave it an interesting texture. The star of the show was the sides. The cheesy rice and mashed potatoes, easily the best sides I've had all year. I will be back next time I'm in town!

Anna G.

Yelp
Food is good but service is lacking. They charge a " packaging fee " but never packed any utensils. When I got home I found out they never packed my chips for the dips either.

christopher w.

Yelp
Great restaurant!! Comfortable decor with excellent service!! Food was delicious!! If you're looking for great Mexican food in Steamboat, this is the place!!

Christa K.

Yelp
This was our first stop off our flight into Steamboat. We were greeted and sat right away. Our server was super friendly and was also from Michigan. The restaurant was bright and beautifully decorated. I ordered a margarita- which was fantastic. We were hungry after a full morning of traveling so we went big: queso, quac, and the salsas. Great choice! We all ordered tacos and some of us got the beans and rice sides. Everyone was happy with their choices. Our boys got the bison and raved about it. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the mood for margaritas and tacos!

Ritu R.

Yelp
Can't come to steamboat without having at least one meal here...DELICIOUS! Love this taco spot for the authentic food, warm service and experience. Our favorite tacos are the fish, carne asada, bison and shrimp. The elote side is incredible and I really love the black beans and rice side! But the elote side was some thing my husband will be talking about for ages! Also love the dog friendly staff & patio! Just order your food at the bar inside

Alvin W.

Yelp
Love the place. Great drinks. Good solid food. Decent series. Good place for your family.

Morgan A.

Yelp
Salt & Lime was the perfect sunset stop in Steamboat with tasty bites, delicious margaritas, and one hell of a view! We started with the Tortios Poppers - jalapeños stuffed with pineapple & cheese wrapped in bacon and served with a fabulous cascabel BBQ sauce (lick your plate good). We came with a group and we were able to be seated right away on the rooftop patio. We got lucky with perfect weather and a gorgeous view to catch the sunset. For mains, we split the birria tacos which I believe were a menu special that evening, and the Camarones frito. Fried shrimp tacos have been my ish as of late and this one was top-notch. The birria was also delightful and the consume was super thick and rich. Incredible service, delicious food, and the perfect rooftop setting.

Emily M.

Yelp
They have indoor seating and a large roof top patio for outdoor seating. Food was flavorful and tasty! The tacos come individually so you can choose various tacos which is great. Margarita was wonderful- not too sweet. Will go back next time we are in Steamboat!

Sylvia K.

Yelp
I wanted to eat at this place last year when I came to Steamboat to snowboard, but when my group and I arrived, we were told it would be like an hour wait and we were super hungry. We ended up at a different Mexican restaurant, but I was informed that Salt & Lime was the best Mexican restaurant in town, so this year, I was like I HAVE TO EAT HERE! My friend and I went for lunch, right when they opened and had no problem getting a table. The server was very welcoming and friendly. My friend ordered the bison burrito and I ordered a trio of tacos - all of the tacos sounded so good so it was hard to narrow down my choices to just three. I ended up going with the al pastor, camarones fritos (shrimp), and the beer battered pescado (fish). We also got mango agua fresca. The agua fresca was actually mixed with lemon and soda, so it wasn't like the traditional agua fresca I was hoping for but it was good and refreshing. The tacos were BEAUTIFUL. I loved the presentation and also the tacos were delicious. I think the fish taco was my favorite out of the three. My friend enjoyed his burrito. The interior of this place is gorgeous. Lots of instagrammable spots - cool wall part - at the far end after you walk in is a wall mural of Friday. This place is pricier Mexican, but I thought it was good. Food was good, ambiance was lovely, and service was great!

Lindsay W.

Yelp
Every time I come to steamboat I always stop at salt and lime. The food is delicious and the service is great. Never had a bad experience here. Nice outdoor patio and room for a family with young kids. I got the fried shrimp and carne asada taco and my husband got the el pastor and fried fish. We got our kiddos a chicken quesadilla and the chips and guacamole for an app! Definitely a go too while in steamboat!

Love Lv F.

Yelp
Delicious food and excellent service! We made a reservation for 5 and when we arrived our table was ready and we were seated right away. A bit noisy, but we were fortunate being seated in a corner so it was easier to talk. We started with chips and the red & green salsa along with the cuatro queso. Both were fantastic. A majority of us ordered tacos. I had the carne asada (so good) the shrimp blt and the al pastor (it was ok) My husband ordered the Chilaca chicken which he devoured. Both the casa and original margaritas were also good. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Steamboat.

Donna C.

Yelp
Update. Still awesome. Confirming enchiladas , bison burrito , and veggie tacos are all fantastic. Tip: 5:30 on a Wednesday = no wait

Monika K.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat. The good is outstanding, the prices are, for us, on the high side so we eat during the happy hour. Lots of outdoor seating, including a rooftop, as well ad indoor spaces. The service is quick and they look out for you. Definitely cannot go wrong here!

Cole C.

Yelp
Very good Mexican food for Colorado. I highly recommend the queso as it was super delicious. The margaritas were on point, but the service could have been slightly better. Overall though it is definitely good enough to deserve a stop next time I'm there!

Chris H.

Yelp
this was one of our favorite restaurants in steamboat. The service was excellent and the food was the best. We shared the shrimp plate which was enough for two people. The food was fresh and enjoyed every bite. Get there early because this place is popular.

Erika P.

Yelp
Really impressed with the quality of the food up here in steamboat. The drinks were fun and well-made, modern takes on classic dishes, and the service from Paul was great! The roof was a bit noisy with the AC unit running right next to our table, but it would be a fun at night. Overall blown away by salt & lime!

Mike D.

Yelp
Fabulous food and happy hour 330-530! Excellent service and cool vibe. Did the tacos 2 special. The naked guac was tasty too

Robert M.

Yelp
We ate here when we were visiting Steamboat Springs for a conference. We had a very enjoyable meal. Fun atmosphere, great Mexican food and speedy service. We will return the next time we are in town!

Melissa N.

Yelp
The food here is bonkers good! The quesadilla had a slight crisp on the tortilla and such juicy and yummy filling. The toppings were on point too. The tacos were delicious as well! The tropical cooler is a tasty pick me up on a hot day! There was no wait when we arrived on Friday around 1:30 pm. There's an option to sit outside but we opted for indoor for the ac. I highly recommend trying their food and drinks!

Audra K.

Yelp
Delicious shrimp kale dish! And the best margaritas I've ever had, I'm finicky! Light and scrumptious dinner!

Micah P.

Yelp
We had a group of 11 for lunch today. The staff took great care of us and we all enjoyed our meals. I had the birria tacos and recommend that option. The house margaritas are good. I had two and was feeling it on the way out.

Layla J.

Yelp
We come to Steamboat every summer and for the past several years our tradition is to go to Salt + Lime the night we get in after a long drive - looking forward to the good food and margaritas. This time, our family of four arrived for our reservation but asked about patio seating (understanding this can't be reserved) and was told there was space so to go ahead upstairs. There were 2 open six tops and nobody waiting for upstairs, yet we were told they won't seat a party of four in a six top and were sent back downstairs. It was a bummer after a long drive and not very good customer service in my opinion. A few minutes later a party of five came in and was seated on the patio (I guess 5 is OK, just not 4?). While this was frustrating, I was still looking forward to our dinner until we were met with an incredibly rude server. Literally no greeting, nothing, just basically "what do you want to drink" and then appeared visibly annoyed that we didn't have our meal decided even though we'd had menus for all of 30 seconds. At first I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was rushed but it continued the whole meal. Even my small kids picked up on it. While the food and drinks were still good, we felt unwelcome and rushed the entire time. I still tipped 20% because that's how I am, but ended up being a disappointing start to our trip in Steamboat. I've been a loyal customer here but not sure I'll be back.

Mark G.

Yelp
Think we had a bad server more than restaurant. They werent slammed but everything took forever.

Jan H.

Yelp
Great food great service. A must while you are in the Boat! Best churros we've ever had. We've been here twice and can't wait to come back. Surf and turf was amazing. Tammy our server was awesome and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we need!

Rebecca N.

Yelp
Excellent food but amazingly surpassed by the incredible service tonight from Josh. He made our night. 10 loud ladies. He didn't lose his patience and took excellent care of all of us. Thanks Josh and Salt and Lime! We will be back!

JoJo E.

Yelp
Expansion is a sign of success!! I'm so happy to see them add the space next door and it's absolutely gorgeous!! We were placed to the immediate right of the waiting area at a small white marble table to have a view out the windows. We arrived during Happy Hour and it wasn't crowded at all, surprisingly, but people started to cram into the small entry and hovering beside our table as well as leaving the front door open. Nobody at the restaurant controlled this aspect and I'm not sure why. The freezing cold air wafting through the entry made our experience VERY uncomfortable and not enjoyable. The people overflowing, standing right damn next to us wasn't good either. We picked up our food and drinks and moved to an unoccupied table. Loss of a star. Our food had grown cold too quickly and we just wanted to leave at that point, which we did. This lost them another star, sadly.
