Salt & Silver - Lateinamerika

"A slice of Latin America in St. Pauli. With a view of the Elbe, you can enjoy a set menu (with fish and meat or vegetarian) that is inspired by the travels of the two owners. The cuisines of Mexico and Peru in particular are reflected in the piquancy and interplay of spiciness and acidity. Far Eastern touches also feature. Flavours from far-flung places are combined with local ingredients, with an emphasis on sustainability. The charming front-of-house team is professional and caters to diners' needs with a confidence that contributes to the enjoyably lively ambience." - Michelin Inspector

Salt & Silver Levante

"With this friendly urban restaurant, Salt & Silver in the St Pauli neighbourhood also has a Levantine version in addition to its Latin American eatery. Here you dine mezze-style, following the example of the cuisine of the southeastern corner of the Mediterranean: Levant-inspired dishes, both big and small, come together to the table and are made for sharing." - Michelin Inspector

Exceptionally delicious Latin American food! All the dishes were outstanding and the service was amazing! The set menu is rather small, which makes it very easy to choose and easy to accommodate to vegetarians or pescatarians. Will definitely come back again!

We visited Salt&Silver Levante last evening. All the food was very good, especially tomato and leek highly recommended. The quality of products were amazing and their contribution to high quality products makes them perfect. The team was super energetic, trust their recommendations. And definitely try their mezcal based cocktails!!

Delightful fusion and signature creations of Latin American cuisine. We had the 5 course menu, and tried to taste as many different dishes as possible. Most of the dishes felt like an explosion of taste which we love about trying creative cuisines like this. The staff are very professional and friendly as we expected. The service was quick, and every course was explained thoroughly. P.S. we only tried the winter menu, I learned that they have a summer menu as well, so we’ll probably be back to test that later in summer.

Had a great experience at the Salt & Silver Latin America restaurant! To start it off, we had some of the best pisco sours we have ever tasted. Each course was not just very delicious, but also beautifully arranged with amazing colors and textures. The fish dishes were probably my favorite, but I must say, the vegetarian dishes were out of this world as well. The service was so friendly and helpful as well which really improves the overall dining experience! Overall we had a great time here and can definitely recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Hamburg!

After seeing Kitchen Impossible, I was excited to spend an evening there and I enjoyed every minute. It is a cozy and warm atmosphere with very nice hosts and service, delicious and creative food that I could eat many more portions of any time :) Highly recommend!

If you know you know! This is hands down the best restaurant in Hamburg. Some of the coolest people in the world, super passionate and proud. Their food takes you on a journey, they know how to spice their food and they know exactly how to grill to perfection.

I reserved this restaurant for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. Upon arriving we were ignored for a while as if only one waiter was allowed to say hi. The stuff attitude was terrible. Only the girl waitress was decently nice when we were lucky enough to get her attention. The service was super slow and it was very difficult to get anyone’s attention since the waiters were all the time busy chatting with someone passing by. We got the tasting menu and it was disgusting. Every dish was drowned in oil, even bread was soaked in olive oil. Further, we were served leek, which was full of SAND. They mumbled an apology and brought us another leek but it took another half an hour. Obviously nothing was done for my boyfriend birthday but this was the least bother after all. At the end they actively asked for a tip.

Yelp
What an amazing amazing amazing restaurant. Loved every minute of it. The food was just the most delicious food we have ever tried. The flavors literally burst in the mouth and there was not one dish we disliked. The staff is warm hearted and kind, they know your wishes even before you voice them and attend to your every beck and call. Ozzy and Liyani were amazing hosts and I cannot wait to come back as soon as possible. Such a treat and treasure. Thank you so much.

Yelp
TLDR: way too expensive for the experience we anticipated great food and a friendly evening, but the first thing that happened when we arrived 10 minutes early for the second seating of the night was that we were told to come back later, despite empty tables, despite it being a windy 4 degrees outside. And even when we were back, we and all other guests (mostly 25-35 years old inexperienced diners I would think) were kept waiting standing out in the cold just so they could distribute the last napkins without the nuisance of guests. Seating is a little tight for comfort and the price range, and they didn't bother removing damage and wall drawings in the bathrooms, but whatever, part of the experience? But we were here for the food, and the mezze menu - köfte, fish, beef tartare, lamb - sounded great, so we went all in with the 'Yallah' tasting combo. This was unfortunately a big mistake, because instead of getting a 'best of' their individual courses, instead they were serving us 6 plates of the dishes with the cheaper ingredients, mostly some vegetable with a garlicy sauce/dip, some quite good, others not so good, especially not the rubbery pieces of leeks, all followed by a small bowl of bland dessert. All pretty rushed, too, we'd have expected at least one additional flight of dishes. The bread tasted nice though, as did their garden tomato dish. We also initially wondered why the wine bottle prices were so high compared with the per-glass prices, until we saw how stingy they were pouring the goods. The servers, friendly as they were, clearly didn't encourage nor expect anyone to linger. At a more reasonable price, I'd have given 4**** and have left feeling good about a place with a mix of getting started and some ambition. But not at 185€ for some mezze. Avoid.

Yelp
Very tasty tacos. Less choices than other tacos places that I tried in Hamburg but I love the fact that you can build them yourself and combine. The restaurant has a really strong smell of meat and your clothes might smell like it after even after few days. Just to warn you, when we booked the table together with my boyfriend, we had to enter our credit card details, and they would have taken 30€ fees if we didn't show up. I don't know if it was because of Valentine's day or not. Anyway, waiters were really kind and the food delicious.
