Lots of New Restaurants Are Set to Open at Somerville’s Assembly Row | Eater Boston

"An independent restaurant taking over the former Neapolitan-style pizza space, led by operators Sean and Sue Olson; the menu will be wide-ranging — seafood towers, charcuterie boards, pastas, flatbreads, grain bowls — with an emphasis on local sourcing, and it is set to open later this month." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Overall Rating: 9.5/10 Quality of Food: 10/10 Quantity of Food: 9.5/10 Satisfaction with Price of Food: 9.5/10 Quality of Service: 10/10 Speed of Service: 10/10 Friendliness of Service: 10/10 Cleanliness of Store/Environment: 10/10 The restaurant was moderately busy when I visited on September 6, 2025. I would likely visit again. Salt and Stone offers an exceptional dining experience. The quality of the food is outstanding, with appetizers that set the tone for the meal. The goat cheese lollipops are a unique and flavorful starter, perfectly paired with a smoked cocktail. They are so enjoyable that a larger portion would certainly be welcomed. The truffle French fries are another excellent choice, and the baked ham mac and cheese is rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, the braised lamb shank is highly recommended. It is tender, flavorful, and falls effortlessly off the bone, making it a true highlight of the menu. Service is both attentive and efficient, with food arriving at the table promptly while still maintaining freshness and quality. The staff is friendly and professional, and the cleanliness of the restaurant is among the best I have encountered in recent memory. Overall, Salt and Stone delivers on all fronts, excellent food, outstanding service, and an inviting atmosphere.

Outstanding Meal!! Drinks were tasty and unique. The menu has something for everyone. I don’t eat pork chops, but this was over the top and I would get it again!Hannah, our server, was attentive and on point with anything we needed. The lamb shank is the number one seller and we understand why. The sauces and gravy on each dish were phenomenal. I cannot wait to go back. What a great new addition to Conshohocken.

I had the Norwegian Salmon. It was delicious, though the tomato sauce lacked a bit more flavor for me. The beer could have been colder, but the appetizers were excellent and unique. The baklava and ice cream dessert was perfect, not too sweet. Overall, the service, food, and ambiance were great!

Salt and Stone delivers on EVERY LEVEL! Salt and Stone is truly something special. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a beautiful, thoughtfully designed atmosphere. Elegant, yet inviting, it’s the kind of place that instantly sets the tone for a perfect night out with friends or for a date night. Now the food…I had to try as much as I could in one visit and every dish is a STANDOUT. The flavors are bold yet balanced, seasoned to perfection, and somehow manage to feel both indulgent and light. Honestly, you could eat your way through the entire menu (and you should), because everything is just that good. The goat cheese lollipops? 10000/10. Absolutely unforgettable. They alone are worth the visit. The chocolate lava cake was such a great twist on a classic. It’s light, not too sweet, and just the perfect way to wrap up the meal. It pulled everything together without feeling heavy. Now moving on to the drinks-Next-level! Not only are the cocktails creative and beautifully crafted, some of them come smoked, adding this dramatic, aromatic layer that takes the whole experience up a notch. & if you don’t drink alcohol, they have a bunch of mocktail options that are just as amazing. I got the cucumber cooler and it was super refreshing. The staff is warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can feel the care behind every plate and every interaction. Salt and Stone isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. Top-tier food, top-tier service, and a stunning setting. Highly recommend, obviously.

We had a wonderful experience at Salt and Stone! The grilled octopus was absolutely off the charts—hands down the best I’ve ever had. The sea bass was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. My husband really enjoyed the lamb shank—it was fall-off-the-bone tender and incredibly flavorful. The cocktails were great too, especially the smoked espresso martini—a fun and delicious twist we’ll definitely be back for. Kudos to owner Demitri and his lovely wife Zara, who clearly put a lot of love and care into creating a beautiful, welcoming space. They personally greeted guests and made sure everyone felt taken care of, which added such a warm, personal touch to the evening. Our server Ida was also incredibly sweet, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. We love a good happy hour and are already looking forward to coming back to see what Salt and Stone has to offer next. This is definitely going to be a great addition to the Conshy restuarant scene!

The food was absolutely excellent. We ordered the hummus, octopus, and calamari. First, their hummus was next level...absolutely delicious. They could sell it at stores, it was that good. The octopus was okay, needed a slight char and I would've gone with a regular balsamic and citrus over the avocado crema and white balsamic, but it was very Mediterranean with the navy beans and tomato & green bean salad. The calamari was excellent. I ordered the pork chop. I just want to talk about this pork chop. It was perfectly cooked, ridiculously flavorful, clearly brined well, and they got the absolute perfect sear on the fat. The collards were excellent, and those mashed potatoes were unbelievable. A truly well-constructed and balanced dish. My friends ordered the lamb shank, which was a larger portion than anyone expected. It was delicious. Succulent, and that jus was really flavorful. One of my friends ordered the burger which was huge, well-cooked, and quite satisfying. Creme brulees all around for desert, and they were excellent. Drinks were good, zero complaints there. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts and mushrooms as accompaniments - they went perfectly with the meal and were well-seasoned. Overall this restaurant is a guaranteed repeat visit. Our server was excellent, the ambiance was nice, the music was a tad loud. I think it's a good restaurant for most purposes including dates or just foodies getting together (like us). I'd suggest you try this restaurant if you like to eat food that creates memories.

Salt & Stone just opened about a week ago so we had to check it out. Its location is perfect on Fayette Street. There is street parking or a parking garage across the street. We had reservations but got there a little early to check out the bar. We were greeted by a very warm and friendly hostess. Didn’t get her name but I loved her tattoos! She checked us in and said she would come get us once the table was ready. The place was very lively which was impressive for only being open a week. Not an empty seat in the house. Very clean and trendy with all of the unique, different lighting fixtures. We stood at the end of the bar to grab a drink. The male bartender was super busy making the servers drinks. My husband and I are very patient and understanding of the business and not the people to be like “hey excuse me over here.” We stood there for about 10 minutes with no greeting though - it’s always nice to hear “hey I’ll be right with you” but there was no acknowledgement until we saw a seat open up at the other end. He waves us back over and we politely said we were fine where we were because now we had a seat! Kim came over immediately to take our drink order. She was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the smoked lavender haze and my husband ordered the smoked conshy ember - amazing drinks. I love the electronic smoker they use. We finished our drinks and the hostess came over to seat us. We were seated at a 2 top in the middle of the dining room. Very tight quarters but we were fine. We were greeted quickly by our server, Kyle. He was great throughout the whole dinner. Social, attentive, and really nice. We ordered some drinks and the brussel sprouts and goat cheese lollipops. Brussel sprouts could use just a little help. They came out very under seasoned and very hard- I like when they are a little crispy and well done. The bacon was a nice touch but the sauce on the bottom was very subtle and barely there. Goat cheese lollipops were perfect. There are 4 to an order and I couldn’t wait - I dug in right away. They are served on top of a honey drizzle and toasted almonds. The breading on the outside was so nice and crispy. I wanted more! For dinner, I had the salmon over couscous and my husband ordered the NY Strip with mashed potatoes. My salmon was cooked perfectly, nicely seasoned, and the couscous in the tomato based sauce was delicious. Very flavorful. I also tried the steak and potatoes and so delicious as well, especially the sauce that came with it. The steak was cooked perfect for my husband and he really enjoyed it. Dessert: we had the crème brûlée and two smoked espresso martinis. Let me tell you about this crème brûlée: wow. The creme part was so nice and creamy and the top part- the perfect glaze color with the beautiful crunch. Devine! Smoked espresso martinis were delicious and perfectly made. What I also loved was the owner, Dmitri, came over to everyone’s table at least twice. He was so involved and helping his staff. Beautiful to see and I truly hope he keeps doing that. Overall: I see why there are all 5 star reviews. This place is small, but very comfortable and lively. Nice decor all around and Dmitri hand picked a wonderful staff. Everyone we encountered was smiling, warm, and friendly. The vibe and atmosphere was loud (but not in a bad way) with nice upbeat music, but you can still have conversation and not have to yell. Great food (doctor up the sprouts!) and drinks. Also have to shout out the server assistant/busser. He hustled all night and was such a hard worker! Highly recommend checking out this new hot spot in the heart of Conshohocken. I think and hope they will be a huge success!

Exactly what I wanted. Salt and Stone should be worth a stop if you are in Conshy for the cocktails and the burger. Wonderfully sized and priced. Cocktail with the mobile smoke was fun. Only one thought - the burger was so big - it was hard to eat with the bun.
