My visit on July 20th, 2025, I had pleasant experience. They were extremely busy, but everyone was pleasant and joyful and helpful. They even joined me for group photo. Such a wonderful staff. Thanks to all of them, plus thanks to management for having such a great team. 👍👌🏻💐🎂🎉🥳 No need to mention that they have Delicious ice cream selection. Thanks again, yo all .

Google
The flavors Pots of Gold and Rainbows and Honey Lavender are absolute perfection. Every time I stop by, they never disappoint—perfect balance of creamy, sweet, and unique. Whether I’m treating myself or bringing friends, it’s always a hit. Easily one of my favorite spots for ice cream!

PoutyPuff Panda

Google
I have never been to an ice cream shop with crazy bold flavors. They go out there and change the theme of flavors frequently. I was obsessed with the rice krispy treat and the olive oil ice cream. I love that you can try every flavor. Service is quick but you dont feel rushed and they give huge scoops. Thank you!

Google
After all these years still a line to get some great ice cream speaks for this popular place. Salted caramel is still the best. Coffee with love nuts was not very sweet. Snickerdoodle was great as was mint choc chip.

Google
A Portland classic! Very unique and rich flavors. This is a newer location on the west side of the city if you are unable to go to the downtown location. Still as packed and popular as the original establishment. Olive oil is a great and unexpected flavor to try!

Google
Absolutely love the options and combinations of ice cream here! We usually love coming to this location, however when we walked in and it felt super warm inside. I asked one of the employees about it and they had said that the AC stops working once it hits 80 degrees in the store and it didnt help that they also had to keep the waffle irons on which made the temperature in the room even warmer. I felt bad for the employees having to work in that condition especially in the middle of summer. But despite that we received excellent service and amazing ice cream! I just hope they get their AC serviced soon!

Google
Quick review: Not for the gluten intolerant. Overrated. I've gone here three times and have been very disappointed every time. For example, on no occasion was I able to get something chocolate that didn't have gluten in it. The first time I went, I was told that fact, and so I asked for a chocolate milkshake, which I discovered after purchasing sitting in car was made with chocolate brownie ice-cream. Duh! The last time I went was the same situation, and so I got a scoop of vanilla with chocolate syrup. The texture was really good, but the flavor was really lacking, as was the chocolate syrup. This place appears great, with really cool sounding flavors, but it just doesn't deliver.

Google
If you’re looking for ice cream that’s anything but ordinary, Salt & Straw is a must-try! They offer unique and creative flavors you never knew existed—and somehow, they make every one of them absolutely delicious. Each scoop is an adventure, and I haven’t had a single flavor I didn’t love. If you’re tired of the typical options and want something bold, fun, and incredibly tasty, this is the best ice cream spot to explore. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Service: exceptional. I am that guy who try's a lot of samples. Their patience and enthusiasm were incredible. Expect long lines but it's worth the wait. Ambiance: you walk out smelling like waffle cones. Need I say more? Food: THE GREATEST ICE CREAM EVER. SEA SALT & CARAMEL RIBBONS: 10/10 these guys are dialed in. The creaminess and fat % is spot on. It's perfectly dense yet soft enough to eat. The level of salt is much higher than that of a normal salted caramel but it's fantastic PEANUT BUTTER BRITTLE CARAMEL FUDGE: 9/10 if i was allergic to nuts, id sacrifice breathing for a scoop. A hint of coconut with a ton of peanut butter flavor. This is a must try for all peanut butter lovers. Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge (v) CONE: 10/10 if I was gluten-intolerant this would be my final meal. Scratch made in front of you. Very flavorful and vanilla-y. Absolutely fantastic. Slightly soft and absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Coolest ice cream flavors in town! I tried their strawberry honey balsamic and black pepper icecream and it was so so good! Honey lavender was good too! So refreshing! Expect long wait lines! Nice vibe!

Yelp
Clearly a local (and beyond) favorite. It has taken several tries before I have been able to visit ANY location as there is always a long intimidating line whether it's a location in Portland, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. They must be doing something right. I had to come all the way to Portland, where it all began, in order step foot in the door. Until now, my experience was only through one of the food delivery service providers because I just could not wait in the line. The waffle cones are so good I can eat that alone without any ice cream.

Yelp
Jake helped my daughter and I get our order taken care. It made my day to meet someone so kind and warm spirited. Sorry for hollering at you, Jake, to get your name, but I wanted it to be known that you are awesome. We got the strawberry-coconut ice cream in the brownie cone. So delicious!

Yelp
Salt & Straw Review: Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero Rating: (5/5 stars) As a seasoned food reviewer, I've had my fair share of frozen treats, but the Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero from Salt & Straw takes the cake (or should I say, the cone?). Flavor Explosion: The first spoonful was like a symphony of flavors dancing on my taste buds. The tanginess of the goat cheese mingled harmoniously with the creamy frozen yogurt base. But it was the habanero jam that stole the show. Imagine a spicy salsa doing the tango with a velvety yogurt--unexpected, yet utterly delightful. Heat Factor: Now, let's talk about that heat. As the sun beat down on the bustling streets, this icy creation provided sweet relief. The habanero jam brought the heat, but not in an overpowering way. It was more of a slow burn--a gentle warmth that crept up on you, leaving your throat tingling and your heart content. Texture Magic: The frozen yogurt was impossibly smooth, like a silk scarf gliding over your tongue. The goat cheese added a subtle crumble, creating a delightful contrast. And the jam? Oh, it clung to the spoon, refusing to be left behind. Each bite was a textural adventure--a rollercoaster of creaminess and fruity intensity. Ambiance: As we sat on the whimsical concrete outside Salt & Straw, I couldn't help but admire the colorful lights adorning the water fountain. As if saying, "Yes, this is where magic happens." Final Verdict: Salt & Straw has truly outdone themselves with this daring flavor combination. Whether you're a spice aficionado or a frozen dessert enthusiast, the Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero is a must-try. It's like a fiesta in your mouth--a celebration of creativity, heat, and pure joy. So, dear foodies, grab your sun hats, head to Salt & Straw, and prepare for a flavor adventure that'll leave you craving more.

Yelp
The world's best ice cream is right here! I am not in the area very often, which is fortunate for my waist line! I Love the variety of unique delicious flavors. While the ice cream is not inexpensive, it is an affordable treat every once in a while and it is a fun place to experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to grab a scoop after lunch. Enjoyed the sea salt with caramel ribbons. Yummy! Quick service, and always a special treat!

Yelp
Salt & Straw flavors are consistent wherever you go. The chocolate gooey brownie is my go-to and it never disappoints. This time I also tried the stawberry balsamic black pepper ice cream, and it was an amazing blend of flavors! (And it paired well with the chocolate hehe). Service is great here and fast. ONLY complaint, the layout inside is weird so you can't really use those standing tables without people thinking you're in line. They should've put the tables against the walls. (I know in the summer it's warm enough to eat at the tables provided outside, but what about ice cream in the winter?? I need indoor seating for that haha.)

Rand K.

Yelp
S&S always delivers a great product, but today amazing service elevated the experience me and my friends had to a new level. Kibo's thoughtful, and un-rushed hosting despite the busyness of the shop made our visit feel warm and personal, and definitely earned a return customer. Thank you for making our outing go from great to wonderful, particularly with indulging my wife's request for the spray of extra floral scent on her cone. You're the best!

Yelp
I've been venturing out to Beaverton lately, so I have been trying all of the summer flavors! July is always Berries month, so having the Birthday Cakes & Blackberries was a must. It is my favorite flavor! For August, the must try is the Grilled Peach White Chocolate Custard. The peach jam and white chocolate pair so well together! It is very delicious. You really can't go wrong with Salt and Straw. This location is really nice, and there is a fun sitting area right outside. Everyone is always very friendly!

Yelp
It takes a certain madness to come up with a habañero ice cream, and it takes a certain genius to execute such an unhinged idea well. Fortunately Salt & Straw has plenty of both, as well as some more conventional flavors. But there is a catch - the line stretches halfway around the building.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Quick & tasty ice cream spot with great flavors and friendly service!! Definitely a go-to dessert spot if you're in the Portland/Beaverton area. There is casual seating outside and a little fountain area as well. My favorite flavors are the cinnamon snickerdoodle, cookie dough, and gooey chocolate brownie. The homemade waffle cones are also to die for and it's always fun to sample the limited edition flavors!
google avatar

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
Salt and straw's Halloween's flavors always hits. The only thing about salt and straw is the prices are pretty wild, especially when the single scoop cost six dollars. The place is always Bussin and the creepy crawlers is my all-time favorite flavor. The matcha is really good and the crickets and mealworms add alittle crunch. Really like the Seattle space outside. Very playful. The service is okay but they're really busy most of the time so it's understandable.

Yelp
I haven't been to S&S for a looooong time. I tried to take my daughter a week or so ago , but the line was out the door and around the back. She did not want to wait that long. Honestly i didn't blame her. Today when I got there the line was contained to the inside of the parlor. Thought about getting a shake, but I decided on the Toffee peanut butter fudge. I wasn't trying to be a glutten so I just did the 1 scooper in a sugar cone. Unfortunately the one flavor that I chose was the flavor that was bumped out of the freezer. It was sitting on top of the counter. My cone was given to me and I went in for a bite...smooosh. :( the ice cream was frozen enough to be on the cone, but it wasn't really frozen. I brought it up to another employee and she said the toffee was exiled from the freezer. If I knew this before/when I ordered, I probably would've switched my choice. I ended up having to scarf the cone so it didn't drip down the cone. Just thankful that I didn't get 2 scoops

Yelp
Okay so full disclosure, I prefer SOFT SERVE so this can never be a 5 star for me but they have done a REALLY good job in bringing IN GREAT vegan flavors over the last few years. The freckled mint chocolate chip is INSANE and as close to perfect as an ice cream can be for me. But man alive the lines...30 minutes to wait for ice cream. How is this a thing? It's not THAT good but I do it for the kids. This location has mostly shaded area to wait, and a splash pad that opened on Friday 5/26, to keep everyone cool. Yesterday when we arrived, the line was to the end of the building, and it took 30 full minutes. Here's the thing, AS we got close, they had staff come out and give samples of what people wanted to try, which I thought was super smart. If only they could have started that sooner and had more staff...it just seems like WHY the lines still? It's not like their ice cream is cheap either. Anyway, it's good, whether or not you choose the line is your own preference. I only do it for my kids lol

Yelp
Great Beaverton location of Salt & Straw. There's plenty of outdoor seating. The classic Cinnamon Snickerdoodle hit the spot and love the option to do a split scoop (although I didn't get it this time!). Note the Last Scoops are different and change depending on the location. This shop didn't have a S'mores/Rocky Road flavor that was at the downtown shop. Great service, the guy who helped me with my order was super nice! I enjoyed the Brownie Batter pint.

Yelp
One of the BEST Salt & Straws I've been to! Before this location, I have mostly been to ones in Seattle, but let's be real: compared to Portland, Seattle is really just Lamar Odom with Michael Jordan prices. Here's why this location is superior than the rest: - The limited edition flavors such as Day-Old Bread Pudding & Chocolate Ganache - Super friendly staff who will let you sample as many flavors as you want (and while you sample, they will explain the ingredients inside) - Giant ass portions - The classic flavors such as Double Fold Vanilla (oh so creamy) and Salted, Malted Chocolate Cookie Dough (all the salty, chocolate, and cookie dough rolled into one flavor - pun intended) - Outdoor seating with a splash pad for the kiddies - Nostalgic music playlist that reminds me of my growing up (includes Michelle Branch's 'Everywhere')

Yelp
No matter how long the line is I've never had an issue with getting my ice cream in a timely manner. Everyone that works there is super friendly and always offering their thoughts on the new flavors. It's a bit loud, plenty of seating outside but nothing inside. I'm glad we got a location in Beaverton!
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Really good service and you can always depend on the original menu. My go to from the original classics menu is honey lavender. The best part about this place is definitely the limited edition flavors that changes once a month.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
Came in for the classics stayed for the seasonal stuff. What hasn't been said about this great ice cream chain. The service is always speedy and nice and the scoops be fat. Why is eat this in the dead of rainy winter idk but if someone asks if I'm game I'm always down
google avatar

Yelp
My all time favorite ice cream spot in Portland. My go-to is the chocolate chip cookie dough and it has the perfect ratio of chocolate, cookie dough and ice cream. The line is always so long so be prepared to wait but my cheat code is to order a pint and you skip the line. I even order a waffle bowl to go sometimes when i want something extra.
google avatar

Brent W.

Yelp
Typical Salt and Straw experience here. Friendly service and you can sample as many flavors as you'd like. The fresh waffle cones are very good and worth the upcharge. We usually kid a kids scoop. Prices are very high and there is a split fee. I have found that the new flavors are not as good as they used to be and the quality overall doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be. It's still a good experience overall and I enjoy stopping by once in awhile.
google avatar

Mary V.

Yelp
The flavors here are fairly decent for its unique variety. The novelty flavors are really pricey so be prepared. But the staff are pleasant and offer you to try any sample you want. The Pear & Blue Cheese is a top favorite and recommended by many. You can hardly taste the blue cheese. Overall come try this place if you want those unique seasonal flavors.

Yelp
UGHHHH SO GOOD! knew that when i got to oregon i needed to try salt & straw to see the hype, and wow i get it. both my vegan ice cream flavors were so delicious with the hint from the coconut milk! and my mom loved her berry pie flavor. the line was quite long but the workers are so efficient and there's a great plaza to enjoy your ice cream outside! definitely a must stop place

Yelp
My daughter had her first Salt intro when she did an engineering internship in the Summer of '17. When we first visited the city to situate her with an apartment in '18, she had already given hubs and I the 411. So after an extraordinary meal in Portland recently, our ice cream selections made for a sweet note at this Beaverton spot located in the Cedar Hills Crossing. Salt is always on our minds because we know flavors are innovative and exciting- plus they use the freshest ingredients for both the regular dairy kind or Vegan types. By 10ish pm, this particular Salt was poppin. The swirl-around line actually does go by fast. So fast, that the young kids working the counter are such in a rush to make the line move at full throttle. While they do assist with spoons if you need a sample, in came the errors when we were here: when I asked for a cup, got a cone, when my daughter and her partner requested 'lids on', they got spoons in them. The kids working here are all nice- seriously. But they really need to breathe, pause a bit and truly listen to their customers. Oh....if you lower the music, you will also listen to customers requests very carefully well.
google avatar

Belanca R.

Yelp
The location of this shop is very modern and right in front of a splash pad which is cute for kids. I got the Boysenberry oatmilk sherbert. Oatmilk ice cream is very smooth and creamy and paired with the boysenberry it was a very mild sweet taste and was very refreshing. They made their own waffle cones which is always really nice at ice cream shops. We got a few other flavors and we liked them all. They were all unique but tasted so good especially on a hot day. And all of the employees were very nice, attentive, and fast!
google avatar

Thuy N.

Yelp
I am sooo excited this is open now and we get to go in and out with our favorite ice cream! Our family so stoked about this location! The staff is friendly, lines are short, or if there is a line out the door, better bet that it goes fast! Super efficient! So glad it's closer to us now and not having to wait in the rain for some ice cream!!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great addition to Cedar Hills! Salt & Straw is always delicious. This location is clean, inviting and the servers are excellent. The inside has no seating although there is plenty of outdoor space available with an undercover fireplace. Even in winter, the line on a Tuesday evening filled the space but it moves quickly. Be sure to sample everything! They encourage it.
google avatar

Mikhail H.

Yelp
Here's the thing... I genuinely had a bit of a, "Ugh....really..." moment finding out that we were getting a Salt & Straw. Everyone in Portland except me loves a line. It has taken me years to get me into a Salt & Straw because just looking at the flavor list make my skin crawl. Sorry, I just want ice cream and not strange flavors. I avoided them but recently a friend wanted to go and we were at a different location. I was happy to discover that they have a lot more flavors which are unique but at least sound good. I have to say every location I go to has great folks working there. They are eager to give tastes of the different flavors and I appreciate that. I thought I would love the Snickerdoodle which was a bit too cinnamon punch for me. The gooey brownie though...WOW... and that mint chocolate chip is delicious still. Pro tip...grab your ice cream to go... get a waffle cone and then break it up to scoop up the ice cream at your leisure.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
It's a great ice cream spot and a chain that seems to be everywhere. I personally have been to four location...my family to many more. I need to sample more flavors first like they highly recommend because their flavors will certainly get you out of your ice cream rut...if there is such a thing. Pro tip is a single scoop/split flavors for 50 cents more. Trust me:) I Learnt this today;)
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
Ice cream was absolutely delicious!!! Great customer service. Quick service for 6 people. We were able to sample before getting any ice cream. The restaurant was very clean.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
Random ice-cream flavors that shouldn't go together, but suddenly do? Yes, please! I could have just tried all of the flavors and been happy. I tasted the Blue Cheese & Pear (shouldn't be good - but it was delicious, only if you like blue cheese though), the honey lavender (sweet and not overwhelming), and then finally the Arbequina Olive Oil - that's what I went with for a scoop. Very fun place, friendly staff, and clearly interesting flavors!

Yelp
My family is so happy to have Salt and Straw on the west side. We have liked them since they first opened way back when. They opened in the Cedar Hills area yesterday 7/22/22 and the first 100 people got free cones. We swung by today and picked up two pints and got a third free, a nice deal which is good until the end of July. The parking was doable and the line wasn't terrible. The young lady working the register was very nice. There is seating outside, a splash pad/ fountain that was not turned on but it was wet,so there were a couple barefoot little kids jumping in it anyway, and a firepit/ outdoor fireplace. It is all pretty sweet. Just like their ice cream which is sweet, creamy, and often comes in some unusual flavors but don't worry there are some more traditional items for the more conservative ice cream eater. There are always a few vegan choices, too. The teen and I particularly enjoy Goat cheese Marionberry Habanero and Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. Today we got the Sea Salt and a Wild Foraged Berry Slab Pie. The adult minion likes anything coffee so he chose Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline. Yes it is a little expensive but it is very worth it.
google avatar

Jina H.

Yelp
Friendly service and beautiful location! Of course, great ice cream! First day open (across the street from Paris Baguette)and at 5:30pm the line was shorter than expected (not quite out the door), moving fast. Employees went by everyone in line and asked if they had questions or needed help. Employees explained flavors well and have great service and interactions! I tried samples of the berry series and settled on a single scoop of berry pie on waffle cone. It was the perfect treat for the 80 degree weather, fresh waffle cone made it! Next time want to try the flight of flavors! Inside seems a little smaller than other locations though and don't think there was indoor seating. Though the outdoor area has lots of seats with a splash pad fountain, staircase style seatung around and a handful of tables with chairs. All I know if that having Salt and Straw on the Westside is dangerous!
google avatar

Theresa C.

Yelp
A nice welcome addition to Cedar Hills. In a great location with lots of parking nearby. Their ice cream portions are worth the price. You can sample flavors if you can't decide. If you've never had Salt and Straw definitely give them a try.

Alex L.

Yelp
The best ice cream you can buy in Oregon. Best food recommendations are everything including MAC and cheese

Yen Y.

Yelp
Excellent service from friendly staff, welcoming and let you taste the ice cream. I lioved my sea salt caramel and coffee scoops. Kids loved their vegan ice cream. 4 star coz only 2 flavors for vegan. Please have more options. Ty
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
Great neighborhood addition! Vegan choices, hurray. Sampled the 3 vegan options, Marionberry coconut sherbet, boysenberry oat milk and settled on freckled mint chocolate chip. Creamy, slightly minty with flecks of dark chocolate. Yummy! Store is a bit small and tight. You need to wait for the people in front of you in line to pick and pay before you can get to the cash register to leave as its a single file line in and out. So if you know what you want, you'll still need to wait for those like me, who need to try the latest flavors. Just chill, try a new flavor and enjoy the moment. Staff was super friendly and efficient. Plenty of outside seating , small tables and seating on the cement staircase by the fountain. Dog friendly too, overall a nice evening out.
google avatar

Rheanna A.

Yelp
The staff are very friendly and helpful with the samples. It's a cute little shop with outdoor seating. There are a lot of fun and interesting flavors that get switched out. We tried some seasonal ones (like the salted Parker house rolls) and more standard flavors (like coffee). It's nice that they have the option to get a mixture and it comes with a little side piece of cone (not pictured because they ran out that time and did a regular cone on the side instead). The flavors are fun, but not necessarily executed the best. I wouldn't say it's amazing ice cream, but it's a cute experience.
google avatar

Ari H.

Yelp
This salt location is always super packed, it had a line out the door when I came by Tuesday at 10pm. Everyone seemed to be getting their scoops in cones so I got myself a scoop in a cone too. There were some unique flavors here like Strawberry Balsamic and Guanabana. Good thing they let you try samples because although unique, the cool sounding flavors didn't taste too great. We got the pear and blue cheese and rhubarb crumble ice cream which were both good. I do think the salt and straw franchise is overhyped because a lot of their ice cream flavors are hit and miss. The people working there are excellent. I watched them deliver great service to all the people in line even though it was late at night and huper busy.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
The hype is real. The line moves fast and the staff is very friendly. If you want unique or just GOOD ice cream, this is the place to go! The atmosphere is fun, and I love going here with friends who are visiting Oregon! They always leave with a big smile on their face. Don't let the line scare you off. You also can taste ever flavor should you so desire!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This place is famous for a reason and it's a good one. The line goes out the door on weekends so be prepared for that but it is worth the wait. I have yet to find a better ice cream establishment in all of America. As someone that eats dairy free most of the time, I appreciate their creative and actually decent flavors that aren't just a sorbet or some fruit forward option. I got the mint chocolate chip and as always, Salt and Straw blew my mind. If you're normal and eat regular ice cream, their menu always wows with unique and addicting flavors that will already have you thinking about your next visit. It's a super family friendly spot with lots of places to sit outside in the large open space. If you've never been here, you need to get in the car right now. I urge you!
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
This was our first visit to a Salt and Straw. The flavors were so inventive and flavorful! Samples are unlimited, so sample away. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We couldn't believe how delicious something called Chocolate Potato Salad was. I ordered a vegan option with a coconut base and it was perfect. The plum sauce was a little zingy and counterbalanced the shortbread so well. We would definitely come back to this Oregon staple!

Christian L.

Yelp
Lots of fun, tasty, and silly options. I was worried when I saw the huge line outside, but the workers were super smooth and kept everything going quick. A fun musician playing outside made for great vibes, so the wait was totally worth it.

Camden H.

Yelp
My wife and I have been to this salt and straw location two times this week and both times I have had excellent service from 2 different people. Earlier this week I was helped my a young man I believe his name was davie which is what one of the other workers told me, and last night I got helped by a young girl, I did not get her name but she was in a beige corduroy hat. Both gave excellent descriptions of the ice cream as well as very good suggestions for what I was testing they also had lots of patience while I was deciding on what to get. Although the line was very long when I had gone the crew and these two really made it worth it. Nice job salt and straw!
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
Heard a lot of raving reviews about this place. We finally visited this place and I see what the hype is about. I mean who makes an icecream called "cinnamon honey fried chicken" and it still tastes good? This place does!! I can't wait to go back and try more flavors at this place.
google avatar

Trina H.

Yelp
Each month, they have a new selection of limited flavors. It is great to go try all the new flavors of ice cream. They also have a large assortment of vegan flavors. Last visit, they had seven vegan options. They are always so friendly and don't make me feel rushed in deciding what I want to have after I've tried all that I want to. One thing that I do now as I can't decide on just one, I get a slip lit scoop and then add a kids scoop to it. It means I get to have three different flavors with smaller scoops. Win!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
This place is ALWAYS BUSY. Odd times? Downpour? 80 degree day? You will have a line! The ice cream is good but idk if it's worth the wait. There are other local ice cream places with more reasonable prices, better taste and overall experience. I recommend the salted malted cookies dough or the mint chocolate chip.
google avatar

Patti K.

Yelp
This was actually our first visit EVER to a Salt & Straw (I know - but we were avoiding the hype). We came after a disappointing experience with the newest Bamboo restaurant, and were hoping for a good finish. Amazing. Yes, you can taste (they use actual tableware - so sustainable!) and they are super patient, really helpful servers. The ice cream is worth. the. hype. That's all I'll say. Try before you buy, because the flavors you expect (old B&R anyone) probably aren't what you'll get. There is no inside seating (and we came in winter) so people sat on the windowsills. Didn't look comfy so we opted to stand - as did many people. There's a fountain outside (for summer), so I imagine that is a great option weather permitting.
