Google
Have been a loyalist to Salt and Straw since my early days being in LA, from trying their Abbot Kinney location, until visiting their outlet when recently opened in Brentwood and this Culver Steps one is my go-to being the most accessible. Not a gigantic store but surely have constant huge crowd throughout the day. The service was always speedy though regardless the business and I always love the idea of being able to sample the flavors before placing my order. My options are typically splurging over the gigantic multi-flavored scoops or even simple single scoop treat but going for 2 flavors. The portion is always super generous but worth the calories spent. My top flavor picks will certainly be their Salted Malted Choc Chip Cookie Dough, Choc Gooey Brownie, and Peanut Butter Brittle. Nonetheless, most of their seasonal menus are also always available inventive!

Google
One of the great Salt & Straw locations. Service is friendly and efficient, and you can sample as many flavors as you’d like before deciding. The ice cream is delicious — I always recommend getting the waffle cone, it really elevates the experience. I’d skip the whipped cream though; I expected it to be freshly made, but it came from a spray can. Parking in the area is quite convenient — there are public parking garages nearby where the first 90 minutes are free, and it’s only a few dollars per hour after that. Street parking is available too, though a bit trickier and metered depending on the time of day.

Google
A favorite ice cream spot! They serve decadent ice cream that feels homemade. Have ice cream your way here - in a cup, in a waffle cone, as a milkshake, as a sundae with whipped cream, split your scoops, even try a flight! You can get a treat for your pup and your kid for a different price than scoops for adults. The sprinkles are super vibrant in color. You’re welcome to try as many flavors as you’d like and the place smells like waffle cones freshly made. At the Culver City location, they have plenty of seating areas outside. Take your sweet treat to the steps and enjoy the view of the famous Culver Hotel.

Google
I love not feeling shame for trying different flavors. I usually keep it to two at a time even though there's a giant sign on the wall that says to try all of them. Pear and Bleu Cheese was a weird one for me, even though I'm usually a fan of the cheese. Anyway, I tried their S&S x Taco Bell collab: Tacolate. The sauce packets were a fun twist, but I still prefer a choco taco.

Google
My new favorite ice cream spot!! Plethora of different and delicious flavors.. some of which sound a little off but don’t shy away from tasting them. Superb and super friendly staff, especially Michael!! Cinnamon is sooo aromatic and refreshing! Honey Lavender is different but worth giving it a try!

Google
We went here on a Friday evening and it was not too crowded. The staff very friendly. They kept the line moving fast. Wasn’t too adventurous to try some of the flavors on the menu. Ordered Honey and Lavender. Mild ice cream and tasted good. Good location with ample seating area just outside the store.

Google
We decided to drop into Salt & Straw in Culver City for an after movie ice cream treat. We were intrigued by the Halloween flavors they were showcasing this month: The Great Candycopia Jack o'Lantern Pumpkin Bread Double Bubble Toil and Trouble Creepy Crawly Critters Essence of Ghost Customer service provided by Edison was top notch! He greeted us warmly and told us about the month’s themed flavors. We tasted each one. He was very patient and helpful as we decided on our flavors, out of the many tasty options. Highly Recoommend because of the excellent customer service and the variety of unique ice cream flavors. Such a lovely way to cap off a wonderful evening! P.S. They will also validate parking if you parked in the nearby lot (the theatre does not).

Simply came in to get ice cream. ~6:35pm. When it was my turn, I was waved over and I walked up to the counter. I said hello to the team member and, assuming her pronouns here, she just rolled her eyes at me. I asked to try the pineapple upside down flavor, and she made a miserable face and went over and scooped a tiny spoonful. She handed it to me, I tried it, looked her in the eye, said thank you, she just returned a blanke stare.. so naturally, I spun on my toe and walked right out of there. I am not sure if this person‘s demeanor was due to me and/or any of my characteristics: single, tall, white-presenting male — or if they were just having a lousy day — or if they’re generally like this, or if there are some gaps in salt and straws, employee training program… No idea. What I do know, is that their demeanor totally killed my appetite for ice cream, and my desire to patronize salt and straw ever again. RIP Rite Aid. The experience was actually so bad, that I feel the need to take a shower — which I will do before I go over to Rose and Saffron ice cream on Westwood Boulevard, assuming my desire for ice cream returns tonight. Wishing the unhappy-presenting person and their employer, all the best!

Yelp
This was my first time at a salt and straw location, and I could tell why it gets so much hype! When my friend and I arrived in the afternoon, there was a bit of a wait. I would recommend maybe eyeing the line and trying to time it when less people are there. I ended up getting the strawberry honey balsamic with pepper, and the honey lavender, after sampling many flavors. A lot of the flavor combinations were so unique and good! I like how my two flavors compliment each other, and it was so refreshing on a relatively warm day. I love ice cream, and this was one of my favorite "unique" flavors I tried-I loved the sweetness of the strawberry combined with the balsamic and pepper taste! I definitely recommend trying out different flavors. My friend got a slightly boozy chocolate flavor and she loved it as well. I want to come back to try the pear and blue cheese (which was surprisingly very good as a sample), olive oil, and other limited edition flavors! I would say the prices were slightly high but honestly the standard for these days.

Yelp
First time at Salt & Straw. Not the last time at Salt & Straw! Was having drinks after dinner and saw someone walking down the street with a cone. Decided that was the next stop in the night. I loved that S&S was open until 11p. Having a sweet treat spot that you can go to that late was awesome. Usually when I see this place the one is always long and now I know that's because the product is so good. Admittedly I didn't know the wide range of flavor options because I am pretty much a four flavor ice cream guy. I loved being able to sample all of the ice cream. The workers were very helpful and patient making suggestions based on what I usually like. I needed up going with the double vanilla and salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough double scoop in a cup. DELICIOUS. What a cool spot that I will be coming back to when it is actually hot outside next time.

Yelp
I love visiting salt and straw at this location because the employees are always so accommodating with providing samples and they are so patient while I make up my mind about what I want. This location is very clean and the service is very quick. The ice cream is always delicious at salt and straw. Some of the flavors sound wild and out of the ordinary, but I'm never disappointed by my ice cream flavor choices. They know how to meld the flavors well to make delicious and unique flavors. The single scoop is generous and very filling, but my favorite is a split scoop because you get a generous portion of two flavors if you can't decide on just one.

Yelp
WHY do I happen to live near here and always cross by on my runs?! Why do I even exercise when I just eat it back!? I CAN'T STOP MYSELF FROM THE ICE CREAM!!! 10/10 experience, from the ambience by the Culver City steps, to the music choice, to the excellent customer service. I have always felt loved and well taken care of here by staff like Arely and her team. If in doubt, get the sea salt caramel with ribbons 100% satisfaction guaranteed. Their seasonal flavors are bold and they are not afraid to bust out CRAZY flavors that somehow work?! Great alone. Great with friends. It is greatness in of itself. YES

Yelp
Thanks to Giovanni at salt and straw for recommending. Tried the Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle and Apples & Cheddar Cinnamon Roll flavors--both were incredibly creamy and full of fall flavor. The Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle had warm spice notes and chewy cookie bits that balanced perfectly with the rich ice cream base. The Apples & Cheddar Cinnamon Roll was surprisingly delicious--sweet, savory, and buttery with real chunks of cinnamon roll and a hint of sharp cheddar that actually worked! Salt & Straw always nails those creative combos. Definitely a must-try for the season!

Yelp
Salt & Straw is a popular ice cream chain that offers unique and seasonal ice cream flavors. I have visited other locations in the past, but this was my first time visiting the downtown Culver City one. Came here on a Friday evening with a friend and there were people but no line. We were not greeted upon entering, but a staff member helped us pretty quickly. We were able to sample several flavors (mostly the seasonal ones) before we ordered. I ordered a small split scoop in a cup with Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin Bread and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. The Pumpkin Bread had a good pumpkin flavor with chunks of pumpkin bread it in. It is a good choice if looking for a fall flavor. The Cinnamon Snickerdoodle tasted like the cookie in ice cream form. It was pretty sweet, but there was a good cinnamon flavor. Texture of both ice creams were smooth and creamy. Overall, giving Salt & Straw a 4/5. It's a good spot for getting some unique ice cream flavors, but it is on the pricey side. There aren't any tables inside, so it is a grab-and-go situation. However, it is located in a plaza with several seating options. Would come back to try other flavors in the future.

Yelp
Delicious. The birthday cake and blackberries flavor is my favorite, catch it during the summer series when you can!!

Yelp
Love the variety of ice cream flavors that they have. I sampled a few before the server that we had got annoyed and started assuming the next flavor we asked the sample was the one we wanted to buy scoops of. The other server was so much nicer when interacting with customers so I guess we got someone who didn't like their job or customers. The olive oil ice cream with tomato brittle was a unique flavor that I didn't think would work but it does! 5 stars for the ice cream 3 stars for the service
google avatar

Yelp
Nice staff and no line Wednesday night. I really like how unique their seasonal menu is and supposedly it'll be apple themed in September. Pickled cucumber was my favorite where it was a perfect balance of pickle juice but fresh cucumbers too. The tomato gelato was a little too mild as the olive brittle overpowered. Chocolate chip zucchini bread was exactly what it sounds like. Melon & Prosciutto was solid and well balanced as well. Sweet and salty. No seating inside but plenty of outdoor seating on the steps.

Yelp
Located at the Culver Steps next to Erewhon There's garage parking (paid) Great customer service workers were friendly & let us try samples I got my usual - honey lavender Quality of icecream is great & creamy as always. Salt & straw is always a good sweet treat

Yelp
I love coming to this Salt and Straw in downtown Culver for a sweet treat. I usually always get their: Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (5/5) which is their house-made cookie dough with thick malted fudge that tastes like fudgy brownies imo in a salted ice cream base. I love the saltiness of the ice cream with the malt flavor and their cookie dough is the best since it's freshly made and not out of a frozen package. My favorite monthly menu series item is their: Oishii Strawberry Pretzel Salad (5/5): This comes with a cream cheese ice cream base with crunchy, salty pretzel crumble mixed inside with swirls of strawberry jam that has strawberry chunks inside. I loved this combo since it tasted like a strawberry cheesecake ice cream but with pretzels instead that worked very well as it gave it texture. The strawberry jam with Oishii strawberries was to die for. It tasted so fresh and sweet, with the perfect jam consistency.

Yelp
I love their mixture of flavors! I went in ready to order the Honey Lavender scoop (my favorite!) - but curiosity sparked and decided to taste the Blue Cheese Pear, not expecting to like it, I was pleasantly surprised! The flavors really work well together - great ice cream. Good customer service. This location is particularly busy as it sits in the heart of the Culver City stairs- plenty of parking within the neighboring lots. Great vibes and plenty of seating space outdoors to enjoy your treat!

Yelp
I love love love love love everything about this place. It smells heavenly when you walk in! Service is phenomenal. The lines are outrageous so that tells you something... Because if there is nobody in here that would be a problem right...rent ain't cheap on the culver steps. Whatever they're doing, they're doing it and doing it and doing it well... I love to try it all the very interesting variations...it's like...what? On ice cream?!!! Yes. it's always so good, things that sound like they might not go well together do...I'm talking like goat cheese, and blue cheese and like berries and just all kinds of yummy flavors I wish I would've taken a picture of our ice cream but we just dug in so quickly... The only reason for having four not five stars I would've given it 4.75 is the fact that it's pricey two scoops is 15 bucks... I mean it's good and I treat myself to it but it's not like I can do that every day... It is I don't know what would you call it an acquired test for those with a big enough wallet to afford that acquired taste!!! lol! Seriously, I mean it is pricey, but it is worth every dollar!

Yelp
Could this be the greatest ice cream I've ever had? 100% right when you walk in your hot with the greatest waffle smell in you life. Service was so friendly and again the ice cream was amazing. Try the funky flavors and trust the process.

Yelp
No complaints here! The flavors at Salt & Straw can definitely be on the quirky side, but there are always a few tried-and-true options that hit the spot. I love getting a split scoop in a single cone- perfect for sampling a couple of flavors without overindulging. The waffle cone is always crispy and sweet, which makes the experience even better. My all-time favorite flavor is Coffee & Love Nuts, wonderfully salty and sweet. Recently, I also tried Strawberry & Coconut Water, and it was perfectly refreshing balance. This location can get pretty busy, so sometimes the vibe feels a bit rushed, but that's to be expected with how popular it is. The parking garage beneath is super convenient, and the first hour is free, plus Salt & Straw offers validation, which is a nice bonus. If you're in the area, definitely worth a stop!
google avatar

Yelp
This is in a great spot right on Main Street with lots of shops and restaurants around. It's right by the Culver Steps. It's small with not much seating, but it's clean and the line moved fast. I tried two of their summer flavors, rhubarb with anise and lemon chess pie. Both were super creamy and packed with flavor. The rhubarb one was tangy in a really good way, and the lemon chess pie was rich and sweet with bits of pie crust mixed in. The staff was friendly and let us try a bunch of samples. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.
google avatar

Camille W.

Yelp
I don't come here often but it's always a delicious experience when I do. The service is friendly and I appreciate that they use metal spoons to sample flavors because that means less plastic waste. I seriously applaud the innovation of whoever creates the flavors at S&S. Wonderfully unique. Make sure to try their seasonal flavors. The portion size is generous here. A kids size is enough for one person easily but because I wanted to try two flavors, I got a single split and it was wayyyy more than I thought. Don't forget to ask them to validate your parking if you parked at The Culver Steps parking garage.
google avatar

Valerie L.

Yelp
Treated ourselves to some ice cream before the movies. Staff was great it wasn't busy so they tooo their time answering questions we had and offering samples. They had two Halloween themed flavors and i tried the one that had licorice not my fave but definitely something someone that likes black licorice would like. I went with a kids scoop of chocolate malty chocolate chip cookie dough and it was 10/10 would get again. The size of the kids scoop was pretty decent at least for me as im not big on ice cream. The bf went with a regular scoop on a waffle cone of peanut and something (forgot the name) he said it wasn't his favorite and he actually wanted to get the blue cheese and pair flavor that he sampled! Weird combo but he liked it. Would return if I'm ever feeling for something sweet
google avatar

Yelp
The happening place to be ! So many flavors and tasting is welcomed! Line moves fast so not a long wait at all! The flavors are amazing The cones are so fresh! You can smell the waffle cones as you are walking down the street!
google avatar

Mallory C.

Yelp
Salt and Straw ice cream always hits the spot! I've been to this location a lot, especially in the summer. I've tried so many different flavors, both classic and seasonal. Trust me, they're all good at S&S and even if you don't, the servers will let you try the flavors before you commit to one (or two, or three) of them. And once you get your ice cream, I highly recommend sitting on the Culver steps patio. Super nice and peaceful place to enjoy your dessert.
google avatar

Audrey B.

Yelp
Good ice cream, very stretchy creamy high quality. Pretty overpriced for ice cream though - definitely a special occasion ice cream only. The store was SUPER crowded and had a very long line, really no tables or anywhere to sit - a grab and go type situation. Very typical ice cream parlour ambiance. They did allow samples!
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
Located at the heart of Culver City plaza! The store looks really nice with full floor to ceiling open windows, making it inviting. Surprised to see it got crowded later on a Wednesday night with a long line towards the door. The lady who served me was kind and patient, allowing me to try all the limited edition flavors. I got it in a waffle cone because not only does it taste better, but it's better for the environment to reduce waste. Loved the coconut cherry pie flavor with almond crust out of all the limited edition flavors. The coconut stood out to me for its tropical taste and it wasn't overpowering like the wildflower flavor. Perfect way to start summer just around the corner.
google avatar

Tori H.

Yelp
Went to get our parking validated, stayed for ice cream. Some of the flavors combinations they had were completely insane. I kept it simple with double fold vanilla. The mini tester spoons were the cutest things ever. No inside seating. Friendly staff/ pet friendly (dog).
google avatar

Sharon Y.

Yelp
We love Salt & Straw! Their flavors are always interesting. We've been to many of their scoop shops on the Westside, and the Culver City one is definitely one of the best locations. The ice cream, of course, is consistent across stores, but the Culver City shop is nice and spacious and adequately staffed to handle the amount of traffic they get, and I feel like their scoops might be a little more generous than some of the other locations. There's also outdoor seating, and it's a nice part of town by The Culver Steps. Parking is neither too difficult nor too expensive. Lots of great restaurants nearby if you want to get a meal first.
google avatar

Allen C.

Yelp
So this was my first time at Salt and Straw ever and i was pleasantly surprised. I never knew. I just never knew about the tasty goodness they had. I samples the cinnamon and honey fried chicken ice cream.why did this taste good? The only thing i was bothered by was what felt like pieces of chicken. Their sea salt caramel is heaven to me. The foodgasm was real. On top over everything the prices weren't a crazy as i expect. Ill be back for sure.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
The ice cream was mediocre. Two full of sugar that you couldn't even taste the flavor . This is the second time I've had a bad experience at this store. I don't think they'll be another one. The first time I went, the person skipped over myself and my 12 year-old child. She didn't apologize m-another staff member did. This time, someone with a nose ring I didn't catch their name, asked me not once not twice, but three times if I threw her spoon out when she saw me being fed by my date. She was so rude about it, almost insistent that we couldn't cash out, so controlling over the situation. I'm over 50 and I'm having this 20 something with a terrible personality being rude about a baby spoon! Please train your staff to have better manners and use their brains for customer service not video games or rude behavior

Yelp
My friend had a Salt & Straw ice cream cake for his bday over the weekend (highly recommend) so I gave into my growing appetite for dessert. The Culver location is convenient with a downstairs parking lot that offers 1 hr free parking. This side of downtown culver feels very new and the store feels inviting while in a good, visible location. There's a sign that encourages you to try as many samples so I asked the staff to try a few seasonal flavors. Ended up getting my usual - honey lavender which is pretty consistent among locations. They had a seasonal pumpkin spice waffle cone which wasn't too sweet. Overall, it hit the spot. The kid scoop was pretty generous as well.
google avatar

J K.

Yelp
Some of the best ice cream I have had in a while. They have very unique flavors. I had the strawberry honey balsamic black pepper. It was amazing although the black pepper flavor wasn't there. Friendly/helpful staff. They also give you samples if you can't decide. Great location for an after dinner snack.
google avatar

Hanna K.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream in the country! This store is located super centrally near the Culver Steps, and there is a 1hr free parking lot downstairs. The employees are always super super friendly here, and the store is very well-maintained. LOVE the seasonal flavors - I always make sure to get here early in the month to try the new ones! The ice cream texture is always just the right amount of creaminess and thickness, and the quality of ingredients is clearly very high. Strongly recommend!!
google avatar

Edbert S.

Yelp
Perfect location next to the culver studios with a lot of outdoor seating. We would always get the pear and blue cheese, but we also tried their holiday flavors as well. I have to admit that its nothing really that special, but we love how unique the flavors were. The great thing was that they have locations both in LA and OC. Staff were really friendly and let us taste a few of their popular flavors as well.
google avatar

Yuri J.

Yelp
One of my favorite salt & straw locations is Culver bc the workers are sooo friendly and you can enjoy it on the steps after. Seasonal flavors are hit or miss, but my tried and true are the chocolate gooey brownie, sea salt & caramel ribbons, and honey lavender.
google avatar

Tammy C.

Yelp
Came here after a bike ride during Labor Day weekend and the line was super long, but it went by quickly. I was immediately able to start sampling. They had some pretty unique seasonal flavors which I think is always so fun. But I was really looking for some sort of sorbet after my bike ride, specifically something sweet and tart. Unfortunately they only had 3 kinds of sherbets: the caramel apple, hoppy apple cider and the strawberry and coconut water. The first 2 are part of their seasonal "apple series" menu. I tried the hoppy apple cider and it tasted surprisingly refreshing with a small hint of alcohol. But I ended up getting the strawberry and coconut water, which tasted more milky and not too overpowering with coconut flavor. I also got a scoop of the coffee and love nuts. It had small specks of chocolate which added a really nice crunch. Overall, such a nice treat after a bike ride at night!

Yelp
Ice cream Nirvana! Every flavor I've had has been delicious but the Strawberry Tres Leches was one of the best scoops of ice cream I've ever had! Rich, soft, creamy and with an intense strawberry flavor enhanced by tangy pieces of dulce de leche cake this flavor is a 10/10. It's seasonal so don't miss it this spring! Enjoy on the nearby steps in the sunshine.

Yelp
I like this place! Here's why. Salt & Straw is in downtown Culver City right next to the Culver City stairs. It's ice cream with a twist. Unique combinations and unusable pairings that could tantalize your taste buds or make you happy that you sample the flavor first prior to buying. They advertise - sample everything, and they will allow you to sample everything. We sampled... Honey Lavender and Cornflake Cookies w/ Marionberry Jam. Both were delicious! Honey Lavender is honey and lavender. Keep it simple. Has a beautiful pale purple color. Buttery smooth texture. Light. Refreshing. Cornflake Cookies w/ Marionberry Jam is toasty brown butter cornflake cookies. They brown the butter, which adds to the caramelized proportions. They crumble the malty, cereal-flecked ice cream and add tons of marionberry jam. Imagine cheesecake ice cream on steroids. It's unexpected deliciousness. Customer service was great! Our ice cream server provided us with all the ingredients in several flavors. Talked about her favorites and dislikes. I appreciate the transparency plus the immediate follow-up of...don't take my opinion, try it for yourself. Prices aren't bad. A single scoop is $6.50. They also serve waffle cones and pints of flavors. The location was extremely clean, and they had a spoon shoot in front of the counter to deposit your used spoons from sampling... to cuuuttteee. Salt & Straw, you've got a return customer right here.

Yelp
My choice of ice cream was not the best too salty no balance but I feel like what made this experience even worse was the horrible customer service I get it we got there 30 mins before close but the employee helping us made us feel very uncomfortable I get it you hate your job but at least hate it with a smile on your face.

Yelp
Easily some of the best ice cream that I have ever had. Salt & Straw is originally from Portland but was my go-to ice cream spot in San Diego before relocating to LA in Jan 2020. They have locations all over the state but are usually in newer malls and the nicer parts of town. This location is also new and designed well. It's large on the inside so it can accommodate at least a dozen people in line, if not more. It's part of The Culver Steps in Culver City where Erewhon is located. They have a giant multiple story parking garage beneath the ground floor so parking is super easy and plentiful. Service is also very fast, most people know what they want here, but occasionally you will have to deal with groups asking for many samples before deciding (prob the same ppl that stair at never changing fast food menus taking forever to decide). I am sad that they stopped offering the ice cream salt on top, because it really added to the flavor and was unique. I still am a fan though because the ice cream is just that good. It's extra creamy so may not sit well in some people's stomachs especially if you have a sensitive one, but the flavors will be hard to beat. I stopped in specifically to try their limited edition cereal flavors this weekend and had to couple that with my fav flavor The Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. Overall some of the best ice cream that I have ever had and all of their locations are consistently good. I feel any ice cream fan that has tried S&S is crazy and is really missing out!

Yelp
Updating my review to give shoutout to Joshua for outstanding customer service! He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the ice cream flavors backstories and how they're made. It was so much fun talking to him and sampling flavors that he generously encouraged us to try. He made our dessert stop very well worth the line and also was the highlight of the evening.

Yelp
I just love Salt & Straw. If you have not tried their salted caramel, you really missed something in your life. The service is great, try them and sample their new offerings. Ambiance is OK - an over the counter service, company-design.

Yelp
Salt and Straw is one of my favorite ice cream stores around! This location is perfectly positioned right by the Culver Steps, and you can smell the waffle cones when you pass by. Grabbing an ice cream from here before returning outside to enjoy the vibrant ambience of this little (actually, rather spacious) area is what I imagine a great weekend morning looks like. There's a parking lot around the corner that's validated, which we love to hear. Once you get through the line, you get the chance to sample their many flavors. In addition to their classic flavors, they rotate through a small set of flavors change every month. That's an easy way to keep me coming back to see what's new. A small handful of the flavors on their website are a little bit different from their in-store availabilities, but their classic flavors are the same everywhere. The staff can walk you through the different flavor combinations and make recommendations based on what you like! They have always been really pleasant and generous. They give pretty big scoops, so even a single scoop is enough for me to share. Altogether, great ice cream shop with an abundance of flavors! Good day essentially guaranteed after stopping by.

Yelp
Nothing more to say - everything was delicious and quick. The lavender with honey was an excellent choice.

Yelp
Food - ice cream really. They are trying to be creative with their ice cream. I got their cookie dough and snickerdoodle. Fan of cookie dough but the snickerdoodle was over the top flavor. Had the samples but somehow when you have a lot more, it's too strong. Service - long line but they do help out as fast as possible Ambiance - place doesn't have inside seating and just line up and get served. Luckily there's a lot of outdoor places to find a spot to sit. Verdict - to be honest, creative ways to make ice cream but just doesn't strike my fancy so much. I've had other places that I'd rather be.

Yelp
Salt and straw is my go to ice cream place when I want something different. They always have interesting flavors and good service. The staff is always welcoming and polite and good with recommendations.

Yelp
This is by far the best ice cream shop I've ever been to. I smelled it from getting off the elevator on the street level. For that reason alone I went in. I was not intending on even having ice cream. I sampled the sea salt & caramel ribbons flavor and was sold. OMG!! It was so deliciously decadent. I grabbed two scoops on a waffle cone. I wish I took a better picture but I couldn't help to eat it right away. I will come back and bring my friends.

Yelp
I liked that they had a sign outside with the flavors listed. I got the Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (3.75 stars). This was the first time that I ordered this signature Salt & Straw flavor that inspired one of my favorite Sidecar doughnuts. It was good when I sampled it, but my single scoop could have used more bits of cookie dough. It tasted more like a good vanilla ice cream with chocolate swirls rather than the expected cookie dough to ice cream ratio. I liked my husband's pick, which was the Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip (4 stars). I'm not a big fan of the mint chocolate combination, but I was impressed by this vegan ice cream. I ordered a Pupcup for my fur baby. He would rate it 5 stars because he seemed to enjoy it a lot. It also comes with a little spoon under the lid. I was so excited to give my dog the Pupcup that I forgot to take photos of our ice cream for this review. My husband and I have been to the Culver Steps several times, but this was the first time we've been to this Salt & Straw location. There was fast and friendly service (4 stars) with pleasant small talk like other Salt & Straw locations. The main reason I didn't give it an extra star is because the single scoop didn't appear as big as other locations. I was still a little full from lunch at Mendocino Farms so the smaller single scoop was just fine for my visit.

Yelp
Omg! I love ice cream and I tried this place for the first time. Soooooo good! I had the house made waffle cone and two flavors: Chocolate Gooey Brownie and sea salt caramel. Pure satisfaction. I tried some other flavors but these were my favorite. The lady who was helping me seemed and little tired and was not the greatest with service and seemed a little annoyed that we asked for samples. Just going through the motions. The cashier that helped us was nice so it didn't ruin the experience. The place was busy and I loved it was nice and clean! Ice cream 10/10 Service 7/10 Overall 9/10 I would go back again because the ice cream was great and I would like to try more flavors, but I hope I don't get the same lady that helped us. Try it and let me know what flavor you get.

Yelp
Salt and Straw has the best Honey Lavender flavored ice cream and is one of my favorite ice cream places! 4.5/5 Food: Honey Lavender ice cream has a sweet flavor with a floral aroma that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! Service: They are not shy with their sample sizes, so don't be shy in asking for samples! Ambiance: While there isn't really a place to sit down, you can go right outside and sit around the Culver Steps.

Yelp
I've lost count of how many Salt & Straws I've been to at this point, but it's a lot. When I saw there was a location near my brunch spot, I knew I had to save some room for post-brunch dessert! We dropped by on Labor Day around 3 pm and there was a very short line. They had just released their Sep flavors, which sounded interesting. They do samples, so my friends and I all tried some of their new flavors, but ultimately I stuck with my favorites, the chocolate gooey brownie and the freckled mint chocolate chip on a split single in a cup for $7. There's no dine-in at this location, but there's plenty of seating in the plaza outdoors, so we found ourselves a spot in the shade and enjoyed our ice cream!

Yelp
O.M.G. This place is so worth the wait even though it was only 20min on a Sat night. The flavors are rotated often so there always a "surprise and delight" experience. Since I'm a chocoholic, I opted for their darkest version which was amazing and rich. I only ordered a cup that was definitely enough to satisfy my craving. So many places nearby to eat so this a great place to wrap up a great experience in Culver City. Parking: plenty at a parking garage nearby Service: awesome. Plenty of sampling too ¡Bon appétit!
