Salt and Straw Will Open an Ice Cream Shop in Vancouver, Washington | Eater Portland

"I learned that Portland ice cream giant Salt & Straw will open a scoop shop at the Vancouver Waterfront in January 2024; CEO Kim Malek said they were "really inspired by what has been created at the waterfront," calling it "a wonderful gathering space" and saying they feel incredibly lucky to be a part of it. The company has a history of partnering with Washington-based businesses to create flavors — for example, a cinnamon and honey fried chicken flavor that included chicken fat–fried croissant bits and Cajun spices from Ezell’s Famous Chicken, and an apple pie cinnamon roll flavor that used Beecher’s Flagship Cheese in the ice cream base. Founded 12 years ago, Salt & Straw opened its first Washington location in Seattle in 2018 and plans to expand to Bellevue in early 2024; the Vancouver shop will be located at 740 Waterfront Way." - Janey Wong

Google
I love this place the ice cream is always delicious here. The strawberry balsamic is wonderful rich and smooth. I also like the hazelnut and cream is my favorite flavor here. The honey lavender is nice not very strong. I decided to be adventurous and try the pair and blue cheese. I expected it to be awful but it was actually decent It wasn't bad at all It was sweet and kind of nice. The apple cider donut was all right. You're allowed to sample as many flavors as you like and they're always really sweet and kind about it here.

Taylor made our anniversary extra special! She was so patient with me when I couldn’t decide which of the Thanksgiving flavors I wanted in scoop form. They were all so unique & tasty. I don’t know how Salt & Straw manages to make something like Turkey Stuffing work in an ice cream but dang it they do. I’ve only been twice & ordered seasonal/ monthly flavors both times. I wish we didn’t live so far away. We will absolutely be back again & I can’t wait to see what new & wild flavor concoctions they come up with next! And thanks again Taylor for taking such good care of us!!

Google
We arrived after 9 and there was a substantial line. However it moved rapidly. The three young women behind the counter were friendly and efficient. I had the honey lavender in a waffle cone and my wife had coffee and love nuts flavor in a cup. We both thought it to be phenomenal ice cream with unique flavor profiles. Everyone around the shop was having a great time and it was a good vibe. Don't miss out on this sweet treat!

Google
This was one my first time to salt and straw and it absolutely blew me away! The line looked long, by the time I got there, it was all the way out of the store and a little back, but probably only waited 10-15 minutes. Once we got in the store we were set up with a wonderful lady who encouraged us to try many flavors before finally choosing one. She also would tell us a little fun fact about each Ice cream we got. Then the ice cream was wonderful as well! Some of the best chocolate and lavender ice cream. They have a bunch of other fun flavors too and will walk you through the experience!! 100% worth going!

Google
Salt & Straw never disappoints, but the Vancouver Waterfront location is truly something special. I’ve visited many of their shops—from Portland to California—and this location easily has the most upbeat, friendly, and engaging staff I’ve encountered. The team here is always so helpful and patient, especially when it comes to sampling all the unique flavors. I really appreciate how they take the time to explain the flavor notes and share the craft behind each creation—it makes the whole experience feel thoughtful and personal. Their energy is contagious, and it genuinely enhances the joy of indulging in such creative, high-quality ice cream. Whether you’re a first-timer or a Salt & Straw regular, this spot will absolutely make your visit memorable.

Google
I love this ice cream shop! Salt & Straw creates a new flavor series every month, and they're always happy to offer samples so you can find the perfect match for you. For me, it’s a true ice cream experience. I stopped by to try the May flavors and absolutely loved the Tres Leches Strawberry and the Crispy Chocolate. The cones are always fresh, and the ice cream is consistently top quality. Prices are similar to other shops, but what really sets Salt & Straw apart is how welcoming they are—no pressure, no judgment, just friendly staff who genuinely want you to enjoy your visit. The location by the waterfront is perfect for a walk while enjoying your scoop. With the weather this nice, this place is a must-visit for the days and months ahead!

Google
My experience going to Salt and Straw was great. I am severely allergic to peanuts and can react negatively to other nuts, and the lady serving me at the counter was super accommodating. She offered me an allergen book so I could make sure the ice cream I wanted was safe for me to eat, and then got fresh scoops and everything for me from the back to make sure there was a lower chance of cross-contamination. I don't typically get to enjoy dessert places due to my allergies and paranoia, but this lady was so kind and made sure that I got to enjoy myself. She even said, "Everyone deserves some ice cream!" I would definitely go back here, and for those with nut allergies, I say that it is a safe place as long as you make your allergen known!

Google
Excellent ice cream served by over the top friendly staff located on the new Vancouver waterfront. UPDATE August 2024---- Another great S&S experience . The Grilled Peach and White Custard and the Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons are both amazing and pair so well together. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sampling encouraged!!!!!! 😁👌👌❤️ Serving cups and waffle cones. Eclectic selection of excellent ice cream 🍦. Ice cream cake available. Handicap ♿️ doable Restrooms are available outside, on the waterfront, a few steps away. Final take.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially for the superb customer friendly service and uniquely delicious ice cream.

Yelp
This ice cream is absolutely a must have if your in the area! The service is spectacular, the girl working was sweet and patient while helping us sample multiple of their delicious flavors. It's a cute and classy establishment to check out by the waterfront. The ice cream was flavorful with a rich and creamy consistency. I got two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone: Cinnamon Snickerdoodle and Hazelnut Cookies & Cream (v). The vegan cookies and cream ice cream was impressive. I was shocked that it was so delicious. The snickerdoodle had an horchata taste but not overly sweet. Overall super delicious, must try for yourself!

Yelp
Salt & Straw: Better Late Than Never! I absolutely love me some Salt & Straw! I feel a bit silly, considering they hail from Portland, that it took me so long to try their amazing ice cream. In fact, I didn't even taste it until I was in California and had a scoop at Downtown Disney! I'm thrilled that we now have a location right here in Vancouver, Washington, and we make a point to visit about once a month. Their holiday offerings are fantastic, and I love the creativity and variety they roll out each season. The service here is always courteous, and even when the line is long, it consistently moves in a very organized and efficient manner. The overall ambiance isn't of frustration as it is in most busy places with a line. Best of all, they encourage you to taste all the different flavors! Given the wide variety and total uniqueness of their offerings, sampling is a must. If you haven't been, you're truly missing out on a scoop of pure unique joy!

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this Salt and Straw location. I've been eating Salt and Straw for years and am a big fan of their ice cream. This location is newer and part of the Vancouver waterfront. We stopped by for dessert after dinner. I expect a line with Salt and Straw because they are popular and they let you sample unlimited flavors so it takes some time to sample and order. I appreciate that you can try any of the flavors! Salt and Straw is known for making high quality ice cream and making unique flavors. They have seasonal flavors too. I ended up getting their wild berry forage pie slab flavor and the cinnamon snickerdoodle flavor. The wild berry forage pie was unreal. The sweetness of the ice cream paired with the sweet and tart berries and the pie crust was amazing. The cinnamon snickerdoodle flavor had the strong cinnamon flavor with the sweetness of a snickerdoodle cookie and it was delicious. I would get both of these flavors again! The employee that helped us was friendly and happy. Our experience was great at this Salt and Straw!

Yelp
Love having one of these in Vancouver! Conveniently located downtown, an easy walk after a yummy dinner at one of the restaurants in the area. You can smell the waffle cones for blocks. I haven't tried everything because the honey lavender is my favorite and it's hard to not get it every time. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this ice cream shop. The craft made ice cream is to die for! I was quite skeptical with some of the flavors but I went for it and tried several. I like that they date to infuse the flavor combination but it works. The price was right and the service was amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
How to tell if they have the best ice cream? By the long line at 10pm on a weekday. This place is amazing, not good for my diet but I'll cheat when it comes to salt and straw. When I asked for lots of samples, they didn't even feel bothered and services us gratefully. Everything is just literally melt in my mouth. Perfect bite for every flavor. Definitely one of my favorite ice cream place!
google avatar

Yelp
Unique Ice Cream flavor parlor in Vancouver, WA by the waterfront. You can try the flavors with a real tea spoon that is disposed of in a little hole in the counter. Try Lavender & Honey, Biscuits & jam or maybe Olive Oil and ??? flavor. Friendly atmosphere with lines for this place that go outside the door. Be patient they are worth the wait for some the most unique flavors ever.

Yelp
Haven't been to a Salt & Straw for years. This branch is located a few doors down from Grassa. We dropped in on a late Saturday (9:45pm). Service was friendly and they let us sample several flavours. There was 20 flavours, scoops are $5.95 USD (single) to $7.95 USD (double). - Single ($5.95 USD) with split scoop ($0.50 USD) - went with the peanut butter brittle caramel fudge and freckled mint chocolate chip

Yelp
Salt & Straw has been my favorite ice cream chain for years, and having now experienced how allergy-friendly they are, I don't see them leaving that top spot any time soon. Their flavors are fantastic, and I love the changing monthly specials, because they're always so interesting and unique. We visited this location on the Vancouver waterfront last month when they were doing the summer picnic series, and we tried three of them - pink rosé and watermelon sorbet, smoked mac and cheese, and cinnamon and honey fried chicken. While I didn't love the fried chicken one, I thought the smoked mac and cheese was a fascinating flavor. Not your usual ice cream flavor, but it worked. The pink rosé and watermelon was my favorite of the ones we got that day, and I wish that were around permanently. It was a perfect summer flavor. We also got the strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper to round out our two double scoop cups, which is one of my favorite three flavors on the regular menu (the others are strawberry and coconut water sherbet and honey lavender), and it was good as always. If you don't want scoops, they also sell pints, which they'll heat a little on request if you want to eat it immediately. From an allergy/dietary restrictions perspective, their website is great, because it lists all the ingredients and allergens. They also do clean scoops separate from the line to ensure minimal cross-contact for allergens, and the whole process felt routine and not like an inconvenience. The staff at this location was really helpful, completely on top of the allergy needs, very friendly, and so observant that they got us a new spoon when my kid dropped his on the ground before I could even go in to ask. Getting ice cream here was 100% worth waiting in line!

Yelp
I have been to a couple salt and straws, but this location has been the best. They are attentive, social, and do not rush you. Great location on the waterfront across the river. I will return!

Yelp
Always love the opportunity to enjoy me some salt & straw, and even better now that they have the location on the Vancouver waterfront. They taught me that all salt & straws are dog friendly. They noticed my giant pooch sitting outside with my husband and welcomed us to bring him inside next time. There are a few seasonal flavors I crush on hard - blackberry birthday cake and rhubarb & anise. Otherwise, while I try other flavors, its hard to beat the constant of salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough. Heavenly bliss of heavily malted ice cream with the gooey cookie dough. The flavor is magic and makes me so very happy. The smell inside any salt & straw cannot be replicated as it's the fresh waffle cones being made. Extra bonus at this location is it's along the waterfront and they have benches out front where you can enjoy the view and your yummy ice cream. This location is part of my dog friendly Portland Collection. https://www.yelp.com/collection/FlI9FJslnPD306-vaQf82g?utm_content=Collections&utm_source=ishare

Yelp
This is a (very expensive) ice cream place, but it's so, sooo good! You can try any flavor you'd like, and then make your selection of what you'd like to buy. They make their own waffle cones right in house, and seasonally you can even get a pumpkin spice waffle cone! Here's the thing: they also have vegan flavors! While I'm not vegan, I can't do dairy. Their vegan flavors are all delicious, I can't tell that I'm missing the dairy! My favorite is to get a scoop of the freckled mint chocolate chip with a scoop of the peanut butter brittle caramel fudge. They do have seasonal vegan flavors too, but these two are the ones that I always go back to - even to the point where I'll buy a pint sometimes to take home! Even though the line may be out the door, the service is always really quick. At most you'll wait 5-10 minutes from the point you're in line to the point you're out the door.

Yelp
Came in for a scoop after dinner. Wait wasn't long at all. Tried a new ice cream tonight. Had a scoop of Coconut cherry pie w/almond crust and it was define. Great scene for ice cream and smiles. We will be back.
google avatar

Kate K.

Yelp
Great location on the waterfront and the staff are always friendly. They have a great menu and it's super fun trying the seasonal flavors. There's often a long line but it goes by fast and the ice cream is worth the wait!
google avatar

Hanson K.

Yelp
So glad Vancouver got a Salt and Straw! It's probably my favorite chain ice cream, for its solid texture, flavors, and innovative seasonal flavors. This location is no different, but the interior is beautiful and roomy, especially compared to the Portland or California locations that I've been to.
google avatar

Yelp
Ice Cream I ate at Salt & Straw made a good impression to me. Ice cream I ate is called, "Honey Lavender" with a waffle cone, was very unique and creamy ice cream. I have never tried something like this before. The ice cream doesn't taste too sweet nor chemically flavored. The place inside is clean with modern design and good customer service. Salt & Straw also includes balanced ingredient list with fair nutritional content. On average one scoop is around 200-360 calories. (For all flavors). Single scoop: $5.95. Double scoop: $7.95. Kid scoop: $4.40. Waffle cone: $1.65. Total cost ranges from: $7.60-$9.60.

Yelp
Yay, they finally opened a location in Vancouver! I was hoping that with the popularity of the new Vancouver Waterfront, Salt & Straw would come over here. I'm so glad they did! Stopped in after lunch on a Saturday, and it wasn't too busy. There were only about 10-12 people in line. No lines out the door, so that was good. The girl who helped me was nice and accommodated me with the samples I requested. I like to sample some of the flavors of the month, in case I don't get another chance to try them. I ended up ordering a split scoop of my classic favorites, cinnamon snickerdoodle and ooey gooey brownie. They were both delicious! Service was friendly, restaurant clean, and the line moved pretty quickly, considering how many samples they were giving out. They are located down on the Vancouver Waterfront between Grassa and The Crust Collective restaurants. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Nicolette R.

Yelp
Never a fail. So good yumm! Weirds flavors all good stuff. Sorry one hand typing. Eating cone right now. Delicious!
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
Love salt & straw but wouldn't say it's the BEST ice cream. It has unique flavors and tons of combinations for pretty much anyone in your group to enjoy. If you're not an adventurer foodie, avoid the weird flavors unless you give them a sample first. service is really great at the waterfront location. It's an awesome spot to get a scoop and enjoy the views of the waterfront. Line can get long so eat ice cream BEFORE dinner
google avatar

Keith D.

Yelp
I picked up a 2 scoop of ice cream for my wife who just had surgery and could not come in to eat it so I had to drive it home to her. They don't have any lids for the ice cream bowls and a quarter the ice cream melted all over my center console. All they gave me was a drinks tray that the cups didn't fit in. My ice cream fell out of the drinks tray and landed on the counter. I love the ice cream but if there is no way to keep the ice cream in for a 5 minute drive then I won't be coming back here again.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Staff is always kind, and I never feel rushed when I get to try all the flavors. And all the flavors are always amazing!
google avatar

Malika U.

Yelp
We've pretty much lived in Portland/Vancouver our whole lives and have never had Salt & Straw because the lines are always so long and we don't wanna wait. Stopped in today for the first time at the new location on the waterfront in Vancouver this afternoon because the line wasn't that long, surprisingly. It was a hot day and even in the little ice cream shop was hot. I love that they allow to try as many samples as you want. Customer service was excellent! We had someone in a colorful hat and a yellow shirt that was so friendly and welcoming. I asked the cashier as I was leaving what their name was and I believe he said it was Ryan? Or something similar to that. It was loud inside so it was hard to hear. Love how friendly the staff was but this particular person goes above and beyond and I just wanted them to be recognized. Ice cream was really good, very refreshing!
google avatar

Mckenna N.

Yelp
I love this place, it's great now that we have one in Vancouver so I don't have to drive to Portland for some great tasting ice cream. I enjoy getting the honey lavender or the salted Carmel with ribbons is so good! The employees are always super nice and informative on the flavors. It's pretty clean and well kept as well. Tonight I got ice cream, I got the Carmel with the ribbons again and I feel I got a skimpy single scoop. Compared to my sisters sized scoop...will still come here as always.
google avatar

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Tried this twice and still not impressed. Overhyped in my opinion, not super flavorful, and very overpriced. If you're looking for better prices & WAY tastier downtown Vancouver ice cream options where you can also support the local, small business, try TREAT or Ice cream Renaissance
google avatar

Peggy M.

Yelp
Went to this newish location in the Vancouver waterfront this evening. The line was pretty short when we got there around 6:30. I had the Salted, Malted Cookie Dough. Delicious with a good balance of salty, sweet and the umami of the malt. I'll get that one again! My daughter had the brownie and my granddaughter had vanilla. Both give a thumbs up! We appreciated the friendly, helpful staff and the new location is a really beautiful addition to the waterfront.

Samantha M.

Yelp
This is the best ice cream I have ever had! They had unique flavors along with the classics! The line was long, but moved so so fast! Our group was able to take our time trying all of the flavors we were eyeing in line and get exactly what we wanted. The staff was so wonderful and most pleasant by serving every person with a bubbly smile! This establishment is the perfect touch to the up-and-coming downtown Vancouver!

Shana B.

Yelp
Amazing!!! The coffee flavor was so delicious!!! The ice cream was so fresh! The flavors are innovative and ingredients are bursting with flavors!
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Such a fun and unique experience coming here. Switching out flavors every month, having vegan options, and dairy free options. Taste everything!! The workers are so nice about it and even help you make a decision if you need. And you can have fresh made waffle cones! I always have had a great experience, even on hot days when the lines are looooong (tip: order online and you can skip the line)
google avatar

Rose D.

Yelp
I'm torn on a rating for this particular location. We absolutely love Salt & Straw, and all their creative flavors. It's especially nice that they have some dairy-free options. But this particular location has no indoor seating, which isn't a problem when the weather is nice and you can just go outside to the beautiful Vancouver Waterfront park to enjoy your ice cream. But if it's cold or rainy out, it's not so great. We unfortunately visited with a group of 6 on a cold & rainy night. Since I'd never been inside this location I didn't know they didn't have indoor seating and we ended up eating our ice cream sitting in the car in the parking garage. Oh well, lesson learned. All the young folks working there were incredibly friendly and upbeat, something that's rare to find in a "fast food" place, so that was a plus.
google avatar

Jacque C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience at Salt & Straw! They weren't busy during our week day visit-so, we really had the time to try lots of strange & intriguing concoctions! The pear & blue cheese was very different! I chose Cereal feature- that was like having a bowl of Lucky Charms!! I also had a scoop of Strawberry with balsamic vinegar & pepper!! That was tasty!! We took our delicious ice cream in waffle cones- they were so yummy!! We really enjoyed our ice cream and will be back soon!
google avatar

Tri Q.

Yelp
Lineup was long but moved quickly. Really cool unique flavours. You can sample just about every flavour. Loved my little treat while walking along the river waterfront. Great way to spend a sunny afternoon
google avatar

Vianca P.

Yelp
What a great location on the waterfront! It's a small shop, no room to sit down but noworries since there are benches just across the street. Garage, street, or paid parking because it's downtown. They don't have 32 flavors like Baskin Robbins, but their ice cream tastes better. Options are a waffle cone, cup or a waffle bowl. You can try any (or all!) The flavors, AND they have edible scent sprays to add to your ice cream. I had the cinnamon snickerdoodle with whipped cream in a waffle bowl and it was still delicious even on a cold day. Glad there's one downtown now!
google avatar

Brandilyn T.

Yelp
The new location is in a beautiful area! It was my first time in downtown Vancouver and I plan on visiting here again. The staff here are extremely nice and friendly. I usually go to the Beaverton and I always have amazing service. Although it was super busy when I came here, the workers did not look overwhelmed at all! They looked like they really enjoyed what they do and are very detailed when explaining the flavors. I got the cake batter & choco fudge from the chocolatier series. I think it is one of my favorite flavors, but it's only limited edition! I got my ice cream in a waffle cone and it was a beautiful and perfect warm and cold combo.
google avatar

Faye A.

Yelp
I went for the limited edition Creepy Crawling Critters, a described "Matcha Ice Cream with chocolate covered crickets and toffee-brittle mealworms". I find the bugs to be an exciting edition to the ice cream, but I am WHOLLY disappointed in the main flavor. This is NOT matcha flavoring!! The ice cream is more of a regular green tea flavor, like the kind you get in those cheap frozen mochi balls at Safeway or Trader Joe's. I am a huge matcha fan, so I know the difference. I hope they change the description to better represent the flavor. I will go again and try one of their regular ice cream flavors in the future, and will update my review then.
google avatar

Armando Y.

Yelp
For just having opened today they were able to keep the line moving quickly without making it feel like you're being rushed. The monthly flavors are vegan this month and were quite delicious! Had a split scoop of the marionberry cobbler and the death by chocolate - could have fooled me that they're dairy free! Looking forward to many more scoops while strolling the waterfront or a little treat after a meal nearby.
google avatar

Debbie B.

Yelp
The group I was with wanted ice cream so we found this place. It was pretty busy when we went so expect a wait of some sort. They let you sample the flavors so you don't end up with something you don't like. I tried salted caramel (wasn't a fan, too salty tasting for my liking) and I gave the snickerdoodle a try (so tasty!). One scoop is kind of pricey coming in around $5.75 I believe it what. It's extra for a cone (expected) and a 50 cent charge for whipped cream. The staff were all really nice but they want to move you along (understandable) so they can get the line moving. Overall I'd go again but maybe not with a group, when I'm the one buying. It is conveniently located by a nice view but there really isn't anywhere to sit nearby.
google avatar

Penny S.

Yelp
We got lucky, walking up to Salt & Straw on a hot summer Saturday evening at 6:30 with no line to speak of. An hour later when we walked by back to the car the line was down the block. We came in July, their berry flavor month. I have to say, in my opinion, sometimes Salt & Straw tries too hard to get creative with their flavors. The huckleberry ice cream had cornbread in it. Who wants cornbread in their ice cream? It didn't feel nice in my mouth when I tried a sample. The wild foraged slab pie was the same for me. They also had birthday cakes & blackberries & strawberry banana bread (again-same theme of cakey-bready-crusty to interrupt the smooth feel of icecream in your mouth). The only flavor in July that doesn't have that "theme" is Goat Cheese, Marionberry Habenero. Sorry but that didn't sound good either. So I had to fall back on Coffee & Love Nuts and since I like chocolate I broke down and got Chocolate Gooey Brownie-their only choice with a chocolate based. Sigh...They were good flavors in a split scoop. It was a hot day, like I said, so they gave me a cup in case my cone melted too fast. It did and the cup came in handy. There's not really anywhere to sit so don't plan on staying once you buy your ice cream. We walked in the water feature along the waterfront which felt great! For all the hype about Salt & Straw, and as happy as I am they have jumped over the river...I have to say they just aren't my favorite any more with so many other scoop shops around. They are spendy too so that doesn't help.

Yelp
I had cinnamon snickerdoodle in a waffle cone! Persephone had the BEST customer service! They were very patient, informative/ knowledgeable about the ice cream and friendly! Definitely will be returning! THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR EXPERIENCE FUN!
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
Excellent and with creatively named choices. The ice cream was very good. The service was very good and hospitable.

Nathan L.

Yelp
I understand why there's a long line for this place! While there's zero parking for this location (get it together, waterfront!) it still has a great location being so close to other places. The aforementioned line was long but truly sped along pretty quickly so shoutout to the staff for being so on top of things on a busy Friday night! You can smell the waffle cones from down the street and the assortment of flavors was awesome to see. The gal who took care of us was extra generous with our "one scoop" for the cups which was really appreciated and deserved an extra tip. This was my second time being here and I would absolutely come down again to try out more flavors. Great experience, 5/5!
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
First and foremost, if you go midday, you might not have to wait in a long line. It's AMAZING!!! They let us try so many flavors. The Honey Lavender is so good...but I really love lavender. The Balsamic Strawberry Black Pepper is a must, it sounds bizarre, but is the perfect blend. If you prefer the traditional route, the Salted Carmel was my favorite. I recommend doing the "split scoop" so you can have 2 choices. Also, don't be afraid to try things, they were very helpful and generous with the samples. Friendly service and incredible ice cream, you can't go wrong with this place!!!
google avatar

Jerald R.

Yelp
There is always a line but yummy pear & blue cheese and honey lavender are my favorites!!!

Sy H.

Yelp
They stingy as hell w these scoops. Almost $6 for abt 5 bites of ice cream and you gonna be waiting in line for 15 mins

Heidi G.

Yelp
Loved it! You can try as many flavors as you'd like. They have gluten free and vegan options! Prices were decent. Very great service and cute place, has some outdoor seating. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Great location. Popped in on a Sunday at noon and it wasn't too busy at all. Service was A1, only negative here is that the space is a bit smaller compared to other locations. Nonetheless same quality of ice cream you expect from all locations

Coco M.

Yelp
The nicest staff ever!! They all complimented my silly shirt. The ice cream flavors are great and original. I knew I had to go in because the line was so long and moving fast and I was just finishing my run. 10/10 recommend strawberry balsamic flavor

Yelp
Since I'm visiting from the East Coast I really wanted to try Salt & Straw. They have a recipe book which is how I heard of them. So this is a lovely spot by the river. It's a nice afternoon treat to get ice cream and then be down by the water. The flavor selections are some of the most unusual I have ever seen. I have never seen ice cream, yet, made with cheese flavors or olive oil. I went with the caramel stripe and the fudgy brownie. They do have scoops which is great so you don't have to really fill up to get more than one flavor. My friend got the lavender. None of the flavors disappointed, they were excellent and creamy. My local friends feel the prices are high but compared to places on the East Coast they're kind of average for a scoop shop. If you sign up quickly for email you'll get a code for 10% off. The unusual flavors and Vancouver location make it a place to check out at least once. There was a line but it was very fast moving. The service staff was funny and polite and patient with multiple requests for tastings. Thumbs up!

Yelp
$4.68 plus an obligated by guilt tip for this tiny poo emoji. You can be the judge of that.

Yelp
Amazing and unique flavors, which also changes other than the classics I believe. The location was clean and organized and had amazing natural lighting with their windows. Absolutely friendly staff. I love how you can try multiple flavors and as you are given a tasting spoon you are given an explanation. Will make this a revisit any time we go to the fountain
