A must-stop gem for home lovers, creatives, and anyone who appreciates good vibes and great design. Salt & Sundry is visual eye candy meets lifestyle treasure trove. The 14th Street location is just as vibrant and inviting as the one at Union Market—full of color, texture, and charm. Every corner is curated to inspire: from dreamy candles and quirky coasters to cookbooks you’ll actually want to use (or gift), and beautifully designed tableware that turns your everyday into something special. What I like most is that this is a woman-owned brand that’s been around for a long time. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. The whole space feels like stepping into a well-traveled friend’s living room—stylish, approachable, and filled with personality. It’s perfect for creative gifting, elevating your home vibe, or simply getting lost in aesthetic joy for a few minutes. Whether you’re a design-lover, foodie, or collector of good energy, Salt & Sundry delivers. Pro tip: Don’t leave without checking their scent section—candles, mists, and oils that are seriously addictive. And yes, the cookbook selection is top-tier. A true Do See Taste–approved spot that makes you feel like you just discovered something special. Highly recommend adding this to your DC must-do list.

Taking walk on 14th street we were drawn to this boutique that refers to itself as home + lifestyle boutique featuring a mix of goods from independent makers and designers, both local and from across the globe. It was fascinating to see so many products locally and around the world and we spend an hour easy wandering around.

Google
I gave this place 2 stars simply because the items and home decor are cute and the location was fun to browse. While you could find a unique gift or item for your home the prices are excessive. $44 for one coffee mug?? I’m not exactly sure who the clientele is supposed to be when prices are so high.

Google
This is the best spot for gifts! I went in without a clear idea of what I wanted, but with specific parameters, and the team could not have been nicer or more helpful in helping me find the most appropriate item! This is my go-to for gifts now.

Google
One of my fave shops in DC. It is merchandised perfectly and has a lovely array of gifts by locally made artists.

Google
Such an adorable shop on 14th street. The items change out often and there’s always some treasures that will tempt you. The owner is stellar, too! Support a local businesswoman and find a few gifts for friends (or yourself) here!

The staff is really friendly and welcoming. The store has really cute home goods (barware, decorative kitchen supplies, cookbooks, candles). It's great for gifting. I also love that they carry some local DC goods. A little pricey but not crazy for the quality.

Google
This little spot is beautifully curated and has a wide selection of handcrafted trinkets for all kinds of people. It's quite expensive, with the cheapest thing I noticed being the greetings cards. The fabrics and tapestries all seemed incredibly high quality though so if you're someone to invest deep in your home goods this is a decent spot for doing that. They even have a section for baby/kids gifts!

Yelp
As a local here I really like supporting these small run businesses. A cute gift store with things to decorate your apartment or home, and even stuff to give as gifts. Check it out next time you are here!

Yelp
One of my favorite shops in DC. They have such a great selection of home goods and cute gifts - themed DC and some just fun patterns/prints/designs. Love their card selection, glassware, and candles.

Yelp
As mentioned in an earlier review, 75% of my paycheck is automatically deposited in Salt and Sundry's bank account every month and even through a pandemic I won't let that stop me! Throughout the past 45 days (who's counting?!?), the one thing that has gotten me through social isolation is by sending little care packages to all of my friends. I love finding unique items and supporting local stores so a (virtual) visit to Salt & Sundry allowed me to get the same purchasing thrill I get at their brick and mortar. They have a few specially curated gift packages for times like this and I was able to find a nice tea and coffee set for a friend who loves caffeine. But this wasn't just any old bag of tea and coffee put together...they put together the most beautiful box of coffee flavored caramels, organic Mexican chocolate bar and the cheeriest box of tea I have ever seen! Purchasing online was easy and I was so surprised by how fast they shipped my package. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I was Lowkey expecting some plants here and when they didn't have it I was sad BUT they did have other cute dainty overpriced items! This was the type of place I would go if I needed ideas for things I needed and then I would shop on Amazon for something cheaper but because I want to support small businesses, I buy from here! They have super cute gifts for friends and Lowkey necessary items that would make your life easier. Oh and the mini baby section is so cute!!! If the other location is good too, maybe I will check it out

Yelp
Small store but a must visit if on 14th St. Would highly recommend this store if you want to support local artists/small businesses as you do all of your holiday shopping - really unique finds here like delicate handmade earrings, ceramic mugs, children's books on Frida Kahlo, etc. Salt and Sundry is also dog friendly - always a plus for me!

Yelp
Salt and Sundry is becoming one of DC's most beloved stores. With several locations across town, this one is located in the U Street District. It's a larger one room shop with any item a modern yuppie/hipster would want from cheeky greeting cards to craft cocktail syrups to modern cookbooks. A few things to note: 1) They support local business, which means you can find all the top DC brands here from Harper Macaw chocolate to District Shrubs cocktail mixers. 2) They sell a wide range of Swell water bottles in all different sizes and colors. 3) If you're looking to buy a gift for a friend who likes to mix drinks, come here. They have fancy glasses to cocktail books to stirrers. The prices are a tad expensive, but definitely worth a visit to window shop.

Yelp
I want to own everything in this store. You will likely have a difficult time reigning yourself in and not spending over $100. That being said, many things you will see are expensive and can feel overpriced, but there are some gems that are much more reasonable. I highly recommend the No 27 Rude de Marli creme a mains hand cream it's life changing. It's $28 and worth every penny. It's also 3.4 fl.oz so you can take it with you when you travel which is the best part about it. My hands have never been more moisturized/softer. The staff are super nice, the store is very clean and well organized, and they have a little bit of everything for your home, your kids, your travel, gifts, etc. and it's just a fun place to be.

Yelp
My absolute favorite store in DC. Charming, chic, refined, tasteful, useful, and cozy... It's an eclectic mix of eclectic things and I would really and truly like all of it in my home. From pepper mills to cozy blankets, jewelry to baby toys, books and dishes and linens and fragrances and everything in between, they nail it every time. I have gotten so many gifts for loved ones here over the years, and obviously a few things for myself. Among my favorites is a basket, handwoven and fair-trade certified, and a gorgeous Guatemalan tote bag that has gotten more compliments from strangers than anything else I've ever owned. I've had it for years now, and it's still in perfect condition, because everything that Salt & Sundry sells is of impeccable quality. My kitchen is peppered with dishes, utensils, and linens procured from their shelves. In my opinion, everything is tasteful yet current without ever seeming dated or trendy. Their items strike the perfect balance and are always presented in a way that highlights their functionality as well as their beauty. The staff are always polite, cheery, and genuinely helpful. It's pretty clear they love working there, and genuinely adore the products they're selling. In addition to the beautiful items and gracious staff, the store itself is lovely and well laid out. A welcoming, light-filled space, I feel welcome to peruse at leisure and never feel pressured to get in, get it done, and get out. It's just an easy place to be.

Yelp
I'm a huge Salt & Sundry fan. I love this highly-curated home goods store where I feel like I can always find a great gift for myself or others. I appreciate the focus on local artisans. My favorite is their candle and cookbook selections, which are unique and interesting. I also enjoy their children's section as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Salt & Sundry is such a nice place. I love the way the store is decorated and love all the unique crafty items for sale. I am just happy that this store has finally arrived in Logan Circle, in a location that is much more desirable and easier to get to. I came here for a private event, in which a portion of the proceeds of sales went to charity. I like that they support local charities in the area. The sales staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They will even contact the distributor for you if items are unavailable and then follow up with you later. Located right above 2 Birds 1 Stone and next to Doi Moi, the store is not too big, but it is very nicely decorated and they have made the best of their space. While I do think that some of the things offered in this store are overpriced and not really worth the price they're asking for, I do always find a few things that I like to splurge on. I think this store will do well in Logan Circle, given the other overpriced and crappy decor stores in the area.

Yelp
This is really the cutesttttt store! My mom and I were eating and shopping in the area and happened to just stumble upon this location. It was unique from anywhere else on the street. When we entered, we were immediately greeted by the employees with warmth. They offered to help us with anything we needed while we roamed through the store. What I enjoy most about this store is the wide variety of items they offer. There were books, candles, home goods, clothing, jewelry, and so much more. Everything there was very unique as well. I felt that if I purchased anything there I would not find it somewhere else. I bought a candle which had actual lavender and rose in it, super fun errands, and a children's book for my niece! My mom also bought clothing and things for her home. I will absolutely go back when Im in the DC area again!

Yelp
This is my favorite store in DC. Full stop. I literally used to come here and just peruse for way too long bc I loved the vibes and they have such beautiful things. Whether you're looking for gifts, cards, jewelry or beautiful things for your home - you will find something amazing here. I bought a beach coverup that I literally wear on every vaca (got my moneys worth for sure), a gorgeous wine decanter that was on sale, and many other things over the short time I lived nearby. Don't miss it if you're in the area!

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and visit Salt & Sundry every now and then. The store is curated "to a T" and has a mix of tabletop, jewelry, cooking, children's toys, puzzles and more. I think of it as a museum store without the museum attached. If you see something, get it because chances are, especially during covid, that you will not see it again. I have asked before about item restock, been put on a list to be notified when the items comes back into stock...but have never been called. Some reviewers have mentioned the high price point, but when comparing the price to other brick/mortar and online stores the cost of purchase is the same.

Yelp
Beauty is on display here to support your local and small artisans, but at a price. However, the price is worth it if you can afford it! It is a small shop just off the main 14th St/ U St area, but what a great divertissement for a diversion from the main stream. This place sort of reminds me of the coolest gift offerings from a place like Williams-Sonoma. While items are pricy, they are not out of the galaxy pricy. They have a lot of cute items for coffee tables and home bars, as well as kitchens and living spaces in general. Great choices like cocktail bitters and mixes, beautiful classic looking serving ware, tea towels that look so chic, candles that are hand poured, games and some decorative coffee table pieces, moisturizers, chocolates, etc. I think this place is perfect for a hostess gift or housewarming gift or just a 'thinking of you' gift. Whomever is on the receiving end will be pleased!

Yelp
I am so obsessed with this place. It's one of those places you can stroll around in and really feel like you're at home and all is right in the world. Not exaggerating. I want to actually live in this place (or at least model my future home off of it). It's a home goods store, so if you're looking to redecorate or just need some finishing touches items for your living room, bedroom or kitchen, or even need a housewarming gift for someone, this is the place to go. While quite a lot of the items are a little pricey, there are a ton of things that won't break the bank. Super cute plates, bowls from different countries, locally made items, cookbooks, vases, etc. One of my favorite things I came across here was a card that said, "thinking of U" and the U was a U Street sign.

Yelp
The love, passion and care that goes into the selection of merchandise here are just unbelievable. I must admit it took me a few years to warm up to this place, but now it is always my must stop shop on the 14th street. Nothing here seems to be just by chance or misplaced. Yes, perhaps it is not enough to build a foundation of your kitchen or bar, but if you need a few final thoughtful touches to your decor, you can find them all here. Most items are unique, come with a story and are produced by a small brand in the US or abroad. As I moved to declutter my kitchen last year and get rid of most useless, old, don't-know-where-I-got-it stuff, this became my mecca as I was able to find exactly what I wanted and needed. A big plus is that you can always pick here a thoughtful gift for a wedding or a housewarming party too. Finally, they carry a great selection of inspirational cook/home/style books if you want to experiment with something new in your kitchen.

Yelp
I WANT EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. Do I love consumerist behavior? Nope. Sorry though, can't help it, love Salt & Sundry. I mean, I don't really need a new set of drinking glasses. But it's so hard when the glasses are all so cute and well made. I cannot help but appreciate that they bring in really unique things to this little store and that they rotate around inventory often (even if it's bringing a similar item in a different color). Especially the kitchenware and utensils are just charming as heck. For example, we just got these little sharp cheese knives from France. Or previously we've bought Mosser cups (made in Ohio), and a lovely container for our ground coffee. There's a number of local goods too: perfume, jewelry, pickles, Comet Ping Pong Sauce. And the return policy is top-notch. I bought these really pretty local earrings one time, and the first time wearing them the gem just popped right off. It was pretty disappointing (but hey, it happens). I was traveling so it was a couple of weeks until I could take them back. Returned them with no issues. And lastly, we almost always bring out pup when we come in. Fun for the whole family.

Yelp
Super cute store with candles and home decor items and various items such as cocktail kits, jewelry, and cards! Love the "hipster" vibe, but this place can be super pricey. I like just walking in and looking around, so come in, look around, chill indoors with the air conditioning, and feel inspired.

Scott S.

Yelp
Enjoy their products and have probably spent $500 over the last few years there, but the contrast between the "we believe in science" ad copy on their Union Market store and the fact that they don't allow you in without a mask even if you're vaccinated is decidedly a turnoff. They don't actually "believe in science." Or trust their customers. Will shop at Tabletop instead.

Yelp
As I was wandering around the city, this cute shop caught my attention. I certainly wasn't SALTy about the interior design collection they feature in the store as they are unique and elegant. Some of the items can be expensive but with the sale they frequently have, I thought it was worth it. Salt & Sundry makes me want to be rich so I can purchase everything there heehee

Yelp
I stopped by the new location on 14th and loved exploring all the great items. The new location is large and beautifully decorated. It definitely is little pricey (like most of the home good stores on 14th), but you can tell all the products are quality-made and really beautiful. It's a lovely place to stop by on a weekend to look around, or for a cute house warming gift.
google avatar

Yelp
I think Salt and Sundry is the kind of store that West Elm and Williams & Sonoma would open if they ever spawned a gift shop baby. It's a modern home gifts/decor store that also has bar/food gifts, bath items, books, baby stuff, and accessories for men and women. They do have some items that make the store a twist of fancy hipsterness (think handmade expensive items from Brooklyn) and a hint reminsicent of Anthro. I like browsing the store but I find this place too expensive and fancy for my taste. I have also come here a couple times hoping to find a baby gift, but they have a pretty limited number of choices, what few choices they have are expensive, and they don't get new items much. This location is much smaller than their Union Market location which probably doesn't help. One advantage they do have over other popular gift stores is that they have a nice variety of bar and food gifts.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
This place has THE CUTEST STUFF. If they had a wedding registry, I would have exclusively registered there. Honestly, I would happily decorate my entire home with items from this store. It's also the perfect place to buy gifts for anyone from a best friend to a boyfriend's mom to a random coworker. Everyone who works there is super friendly, and I always walk out having bought whatever candle they're burning that day - it smells so good in there! My only complaint is that I wish there was more of a mix of lower priced items. I'd shop there even more than I already do now!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great for gifts. I shop here for many of my clients. Also, great candle selection. I was also the recipient of a very nice cutting board and cheese knife set from here, thanks Steve and Melissa!

Yelp
We were walking around 14th Street after a nice brunch over at Compass Rose when I noticed Salt & Sundry just down S Street. I had that brief moment of trying to place the name, when it finally clicked that Salt & Sundry is that fantastic shop from Union Market! I've always loved the wide variety of very cool products that S&S carries, many of which you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in the District. Their offerings include beautiful items for the table, a wonderful collection of candles and lotions, letterpress-type greeting cards, those stylish S'well bottles, and cute stuff for the little ones (including some unique sets of blocks and classic books like "Ferdinand the Bull", which put a big smile on my face). What particularly beckoned to me was the amazing collection of things for the bar, from small-batch mixers to Moscow mule mugs to more bottles of bitters that anyone could ever imagine. I was particularly excited that they carry Jack Rudy products (and, if you've ever had their bourbon cherries, you'd know why). The sales staff is very personable and are definitely eager to help, so check 'em out next time you need a neat gift for just about any occasion - everything there will make a great impression on whoever you're buying for!

Yelp
I recently found out about this place from a co-worker and I'm in love! Went on a Saturday morning and it was packed. Lots of DC folks walking around looking at cute knick nacks and gifts. One of the first things I noticed is that there are a lot of local vendors as well as USA made items. I really loved that since it's unique and something you can't find elsewhere. The one thing is that everything is a little more on the pricey side but hey that's what you get for having local vendors and unique gifts! You can find something for everyone in this store from a gift for your parents, friend, and even newborns. I found cute home items and candy on my first trip there. On my second, I bought a few different birthday gifts for friends. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Amazingly curated collection of household items. I always find the perfect gifts for my in-laws: cocktail paraphernalia, throw blankets and pillows, specialty food items, dishes and tableware, jewelry. Inevitably I usually end up purchasing a "gift" for myself! The displays are so inspiring! And the service is friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
Just discovered this and now Love this store. The unique quality of each item is what makes it special. The key is to take several laps around the store, the more I did the more I found stuff for me and the person I was buying for.

Yelp
I've strolled into Salt & Sundry several times. It's the perfect place to buy small gifts for people you sort of like (cutesy things makes them think you like them more than you do). It's also the perfect place to buy coffee mugs that are as big as your face -- I have six. It's only my boyfriend and I, and we NEVER have visitors. I'm telling you, these mugs are A MA ZING.

Gypsytraveler G.

Yelp
While I treasure the store and everything it offers, the prices are just too high. I often find the same or similar items online for much less, but I will say, the team is friendly & helpful. I love browsing & on occasion finding those rare pieces for great gifts :) in those cases, I splurge ‍

Yelp
I stumbled upon this shop while killing time on 14th and I was very impressed! The two girls working were adorable and the shop is great. Beyond wonderful products, the merchandising is simple, yet exciting and really fun to look at. It's a bright space filled with tons of unique little luxuries. I've seen similar stores in Chicago (my hometown) but nothing quite as meticulously curated. It definitely gives the vibe that the owner/buyer buys things that he/she loves which I really appreciate. Super adorbs love it SFM.

Yelp
One of my favorite stores to browse and also from which to purchase gifts. Fabulous selection, the staff are welcoming and encourage you to browse, excellent price point.
