Went for brunch here. I wasn’t too impressed with my dish (the Italian Trio), but my friend ordered the pasta and it was absolutely delicious. Oh the lobster bisque was delicious too. The restaurant itself was clean, well-kept, and had decent décor. The only reason I rated the service a 3 is because our waiter was loud, short when answering questions, and insisted on adding a 22% tip for very average service. It felt pushy and unprofessional — definitely a turnoff. Overall, the food and ambiance were good, which is why I still gave it 4 stars despite the service experience.

Salt and Vine offers a delightful atmosphere with a charming setting that's perfect for a cozy meal. The food presentation was visually appealing, though the pasta dish we tried lacked a bit in flavor. We were slightly disappointed that, despite mentioning a birthday upon booking, our server didn't acknowledge the occasion, even though the table next to us received a birthday dessert. Nonetheless, the experience was still enjoyable, and we'd recommend it for the overall ambiance and attention to detail in most other aspects. A solid four stars!

Great date night or special occasion restaurant. Polished ambiance and good service. Plates were being cleared consistently and water refilled without needing to ask. Love that you can do a half portion of some of their pasta, which is actually an authentic thing you can ask for in Italy (mezza porzione)! We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us an adorable complimentary cannoli with a candle, which was really kind. Only stickler is the eye-watering price tag. Some of the dishes were extremely overpriced, making me think we were dining in San Francisco or Los Angeles, not Olney MD. We enjoyed our food, but the $100+ tab for just two people will keep us from coming back again anytime soon.

Google
5 star experience, from the moment you walk in you feel welcomed by the staff and the cozy atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Jenny, our waitress was super attentive and friendly. Food was great and came out hot and within a reasonable time. Such a lovely establishment in Olney.

Came here for a dinner with a colleague and it was delicious. I had came here previously for some appetizers and happy hour and wanted to come back to try entree’s. I ordered the rack of lamb with broccolini and mushrooms and it was the best lamb I’ve ever had. I convinced my cousin to have her small intimate birthday dinner here Saturday night. And I’m coming back for that rack of lamb! Hopefully it continues to be great and uphold that bar if not my cousin will be upset with me 😁!

We loved Mackenzie as our waiter. She was amazing. I thought she had done this for many years. Outstanding service.

Food was well prepared and presented. Waiter, Hugo, was professional and engaging without being intrusive. Patio was pleasant with heaters to warm as evening progressed. Nice, very nice!

Beautiful restaurant in Olney. Great for an anniversary or any special occasion. Outdoor seating was great, with heaters to keep you warm on those cooler nights. We arrived 15mins before our reservation and were seated shortly after arriving. There is a chic bar and seating area to wait in. Our server was very attentive and always checked up on us. We ordered the arancini, a pizza and two pasta dishes. All were absolutely amazing. Portions were great for one person. I didn’t walk away hungry. The food was all so light and not at all heavy like you would find at most American Italian eateries. Price is definitely up there but for the whole experience I would gladly go back and spend the money again. Give it a try if you’re in the MoCo area but make sure you reserve a table in advance. This place is popular

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary dinner here. It was a last minute reservation and the staff really treated us amazing. From the lovely card to seating us quickly, the service definitely stands out. Everyone was accommodating and really cared about our time and experience at the restaurant. The restaurant is a converted beautiful home into a bustling and quiet restaurant. We got the frito misto and two different pastas; the squid ink pasta and the mushroom tagliatelle. The frito wasn't our favorite but the pastas were amazing. The flavor and depth was amazing! We had an amazing time!

Yelp
This review is for the pizza and the pizza alone, since we got it for takeout. We've actually never eaten in this (new) restaurant. I believe they've been open since spring of 2023, and it is new ownership. Located in the old historic Olney House, built c. 1800. Did you know that Olney got its name from the Olney House? It's true. Most of the pizza joints in Olney are very ordinary chain type places. This one stands out as it is unlike the others. The menu only offers three pizzas, and they're all fancy gourmet types. If you're looking for a standard pepperoni pizza, look elsewhere. These are meant to be "personal" pizzas but they're pretty big for personal, I think. Neither myself nor my wife finished ours in one sitting, which I think is a good thing. We got the Carciofi and the House pizzas. The Carciofi is marinated artichokes among other things. It includes a roasted lemon half. I think you're supposed to squeeze and drizzle the lemon juice on top? Pretty cool. The House is sausage among other things. Both pizzas were excellent as far as toppings, ingredients, freshness, and flavor. It was really good, different, and pleasing. And unique. Unfortunately, the crust is meh. It has no taste (for really, really good pizza crust, check out Julliano's in Laytonsville). The other problem is the price. The two pizzas were $40 plus tax. That's a bit high, although I do understand it is a high quality pizza and a high-end restaurant which is gonna be pricy. If the crust was on par with Julliano's I'd give it five stars. But I have to go four stars for now. Nonetheless, if you're in the mood for something different and delicious regarding pizza, definitely give Salt and Vine a try. Make sure you order at least 30 mins before closing or they won't accept our order. You must order online, there is no phone ordering. Or go in person.

Yelp
This is a great HH spot. I find the staff friendly and other patrons to be welcoming. The ambiance is comfortable sitting at the bar in the bar area, it is a great conversational area. The drinks are well-made and warmed my soul. The food was amazing, especially the Single lamb chop. I enjoyed it so much I had three the first time I visited. The pizza, was satisfactory, (I am a pizza snob.) I would get it again. I can not wait until my next visit, I know I will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Amazing, personable service. Even though the restaurant was short staffed, our server more than made up for it with her kindness and attentiveness. I enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner with my family. The restaurant is cozy and quiet, perfect for a chill dinner or date night. The food is spectacular. You can't go wrong with their pastas made in house! Focaccia bread and tiramisu were also well worth it.

Yelp
Finally got to experience Salt & Vine! I met up with a friend right next door and didn't realize how close this place was. Based on the pics I saw from outside, I thought it was on a hill in the middle of some big field somewhere in Olney, not right in the nearby parking lot XD. It has a stunning exterior with patio seating. It was a beautiful day, so my buddy and I kept debating between sitting inside and outside. Before deciding we did walk through, and I loved how beautiful the decor inside is. I didn't get to see upstairs, but I imagine it was even more delight. We eventually decided to sit outside, the weather was irresistible. When we sat down, we made an awesome discovery -- it was about to be happy hour! They have it 7 days a week at the bar or on the patio, so it turned out wonderfully. We still had about 20 minutes, so I got a bowl of gazpacho in the meantime. I hadn't had it in like 15 years and it tasted even better than I remembered! It's about as summer as you can get when it comes to soup. When happy hour time came, we got fritto misto, which is fried calamari, shrimp, scallops, and lemon slices all in one... very unique, and I was intrigued! There was definitely more shrimp than anything else though. We each had a FANTASTIC lamb chop... I have to bring my friend who loves lamb in the near future. And we each had a glass of wine and split the fusilli bolognese. That was an excellent pasta -- flavorful and all. All this to say, I had a fantastic time at Salt & Vine after watching it for like two years. I am looking forward to bringing my parents for some special occasion. It was awesome!

Yelp
We've been wanting to try salt & vine for a while and finally got the chance to this past Friday evening. Be aware parking is very limited and you may have to drive around for a little in order to find a space. Although pricey, we all very much enjoyed our dinner here. The crab linguine was delicious, as was the shrimp in butter sauce. The focaccia is also house made and we used it to dip in the shrimp butter sauce. The beef carpaccio was tasty and the brocollini was grilled to perfection. The drinks were all presented beautifully and you really can't go wrong with any of them! Our server was kind and gave us great recommendations. My only complaint is that our food took over an hour to come out, but our server did apologize for the wait. I am assuming that was out of the ordinary. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Cute and quaint ambiance, indoor and outdoor dining. The food was good and server was attentive! What a lovely space. Can't wait to come back on a nice fall day and enjoy the outdoor patio with my dog. I got the cod and it was cooked to perfection, delicious side of wild mushroom. My friend got the risotto side and it was delicious as well. We came on a Saturday for dinner and the restaurant was full. We were seated promptly with reservation though.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a friend a few months ago & enjoyed dining here! Super cute & cozy vibes, especially on the outdoor patio space where we sat. I ordered the mushroom tagliatelle & lobster bisque and liked both. Our server was friendly and attentive. Will be returning here again this weekend, for dinner this time! Somewhat limited parking behind the restaurant, but there are several extra spots by the entrance sign to the center.

Yelp
Revisited Salt and Vine for Mother's Day dinner this past Sunday. My family and I decided to dine a week after the actual day to avoid the crowds. I re-ordered their lemoncello spritz (still highly recommend if you want a summer drink), the beef carpaccio, meatballs and sausage pizza pie for an appetizer. My favorite was the meatball dish, very tender and flavored very well. I personally ordered their 6 oz blue tuna with a side of pea and black truffles risotto. I thoroughly enjoyed the dish and for some reason, they always nail the cook on the risotto every time. My sister and mom wanted a small dessert too that wasn't on their menu (an affogato). However we noticed that they had espresso and gelato on their menu as separate items. The staff were kind enough to essentially put both items together to create an affogato. Very delicious and highly recommend as well. Overall, another very exceptional experience. It is quite pricey but definitely a well worth dining experience every once in awhile. This is a great option for those looking for a place to celebrate birthdays or even Father's Day since it's around the corner.

Yelp
"At Salt & Vine, we promise to provide an unforgettable dining experience that is as delightful as it is refined." Last night, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Salt & Vine. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The service is excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. She was there when we needed her and gave us space when we needed it. The bar area is beautiful with rich dark woods, mirrors, and comfortable cream couches. The management reigns supreme, Jason, one of the front of the house managers came by several times to check on us. I thought that was really nice. We started off our meal with fried artichokes and the burrata platter. Unfortunately, somebody in the prep department forgot to remove the chokes from the artichoke dish. That made it a little difficult to eat and enjoy. The burrata platter was by far our favorite antipasti. There was a large mound of fresh burrata, tasty warm pita bread, flavorful peppers, and a generous helping of prosciutto. This is the best appetizer! One of our diners got the pressed duck, which is cooked and then pressed with layers of potatoes, and peas. It looked outrageously good and we were both sorry that we didn't order this dish. Next time... One friend ordered the arugula, asparagus, radish, egg, and prosciutto salad dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette. He added chicken to his salad. He really enjoyed his dish. I ordered the roasted beet salad with pistachio nuts, goat cheese, strawberries, lettuce and a cheese blend. It was dressed in a mustard, lemon vinaigrette. I added shrimp to my dish. I thought my salad was excellent. The shrimp and beets were cooked to phenomenally. I wish they would have added a few more shrimp to the dish. But, the 3 shrimp on the salad were large in size. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, which included coffee, soaked Ladyfingers, Kahlua coffee liquor, and cream. All three of us were blown away. Best tiramisu that we have ever had in our lives. Chef's kiss! Our friend had the toasted almond cake with marscyepone frosting. That was amazing too. The pastry chef is so talented. An incredible meal, but it is definitely pricey. So, make sure and plan ahead for this fun dining experience.

Yelp
Nestled in a former home/mansion a bit off the road at the intersection of Georgia Ave and 108, Salt & Vine is no secret. And I finally got to see why when I visited back in January for my birthday. Salt & Vine is large, yet cozy and intimate, with several rooms for dining. Service is prompt and attentive. On this first visit I had the Orecchiette Salsiccia and my guy had the rainbow trout. Both were delicious!! I tried two different cocktails, Limoncello Mule and Salt and Vine Something. My favorite between the two was the mule. I topped off the evening with Tiramisu for dessert and had some leftover pasta to take home, much to my delight. Salt & Vine was everything I hoped it would be and I look forward to coming back again.

Yelp
All the food was delicious and fresh. Not one dish was bad. They also have some decent happy hr deals. Our server forgot to put in my to go order so taking off one star from that. Otherwise the rest of the staff was great. The food came out at a reasonable time. There's bar seats, high table and normal dining tables which are mainly for reservations. Not much parking but also not much room inside. Some outdoor seats out front and out back as well.

Yelp
Came early in the day for lunch but they were only serving half the menu.. not sure if that was a normal thing but the host gave us the disclaimer as soon I got there. Then helped me book a table for later in the day for when the full menu would be available. I love the way the dining rooms are set here. It's multiple rooms and each is a little different (have been considering hosting a party here). Clean, spacious and just an overall relaxed vibe. Our server did a really good job just knowing the menu, the go to orders and asking all the right questions. Quick and efficient. Was not too busy so she was on top of service. Oddly enough, the salad and pasta was the highlight of my meal. I typically don't eat Cantaloupe but that was an EXCELLENT salad. Ribeye was not bad, but nothing special.. could benefit from a nice char but it lacked that crust. The shrimps were disappointing but I think I'm just spoiled by the amount of places that have served me jumbo shrimp that aren't overcooked and shriveled up. Great wine sauce though. Ate everything with a glass of Chianti. Would come back/recommend if in the area and looking for a nice spot for dinner.

Yelp
I enjoyed a nice brunch here! Not sure why the Washington Post was so harsh, it's a good restaurant! The building is old and historic with tons of parking. Apparently the wood fired oven they use is original to the house! The front area is a little strange because it leads straight into a staircase, but the rest of the restaurant is elegantly decorated. I loved the green and gold wallpaper in the downstairs dining room. I was a little disappointed in the variety of brunch offerings- most of the menu was not breakfast food. However, all of the food was really beautiful and tasted great, too! I got the beet salad, which I think was the best thing on the table. It was prepared well and had a great mix of flavors. The staff were quiet and discreet but very attentive. It seemed a little high priced for me, especially for the location, but it was a beautiful intimate restaurant and provides an upscale location that Olney needed.

Yelp
Our group of 5 had drinks and dessert here yesterday. The layout is interesting with several dining areas, two bars, and a very cozy feel. The service was friendly, consistent, and pleasant. I ordered the Christmas Cactus tequila drink, whose description I didn't read carefully. It had mezcal in it, which always diminishes my enjoyment of a tequila drink. However it was my mistake the drink was exactly as it was stated. Their tiramisu is a decent portion for the price and incredibly delicious!

Yelp
AWESOME! The gluten-free pizza is dreamy. Now I can't go back to my neighborhood pizzeria after my experience at Salt & Vine. It's a bit busy and upscale for lunch, but I really, really love this place. Owned by the same owners as The Turn House, Salt & Vine does not disappoint! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Amazing food and service. We got the rack of lamb, risotto and Spaghetti Al Nero Di Seppia. We also started with fresh focaccia bread and the fried artichoke appetizers. Sooooooooo gooood. The fried artichoke is a must. Don't fill up too much on bread. The portions are huge, so the bread would take away from meals offers. Get the rack of lamb medium and the half rack is filling and plenty. Service is great, but not many views. Still a good place to try and a fraction of the cost compared to DC.

Yelp
This spot was super cute! It looked like a house that transformed into a wine bar restaurant. Service was superb! Bread starter, extensive wine menu with mocktail options too. Calamari was a lil chewy but it was fried with red and shishito peppers and it paired nicely in the same bite. The branzino was perfect like the skin was nice and crispy. Brussel sprouts were delicious, topped with pine nuts so crunchy texture. When I tasted their pasta, it was overhyped by our server. It was good but not great you know. The sauces needed more thickness to fully enjoy the rich flavors. The almond cake for dessert was the best part, reminded me of the perfect wedding cake. It was creamy, but firm and moist. They have a wood fire oven so their pizza is probably really good too. You can smell the fire burning upon entry. Definitely would go back when it's not dry January to explore their wine menu.

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant! My girl friends and I came for bottomless brunch. I ordered the prosciutto sandwich which was pretty good and very filling. We also split a margherita pizza (SO GOOD). The staff were very quick to refill our drinks so we never had an empty glass which was nice.

Yelp
We had a great time this past weekend. The restaurant is really beautiful. I'm not sure what was here before but I hope this one is here to stay! We made a reservation for dinner, which I highly recommend. It is homecoming season so not much availability for times and seating options if you wait until the last minute. Parking is limited as well. As far as attire, I feel like this is a place where you can do smart casual or dressy. I think I went with date night cute. We sat on the second floor patio. It was a beautiful fall day. Once the sun went down, it got a tad cooler but not cold. A light sweater/jacket would have been fine. They ofter daily happy hour from 3 to 6 - at the bar and patio only. It includes food and drink specials! Our server, Franco, was great. Very attentive and helpful. There's complimentary bread and butter. Great cocktail options and extensive wine selection. I tried a glass of their chianti. I enjoyed it. I really liked my espresso martini I had after my meal. For my entree, I did the penne al vodka and I added chicken. It was yummy. I love that they ofter half or full size portions. I did the half since I wasn't starving and it was the perfect amount. I can't wait to come back. Tuesday nights are half off wine nights. Any takers? Add Salt & Vine to your list! You won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Came here for a friends birthday beginning of last month. Service- Quentin was our server and he was very attentive. Towards the end of the night the service got more slow as it became crowded Food- Ordered limoncello mule which was ok but a bit too sweet for my liking. The beet salad was good and so was the linguini in clam sauce. Ambience- we sat outside which was cute and didnt get to enjoy the inside except when we went to restroom Overall- we enjoyed our experience and we talked about coming to check out their HH.

Yelp
I'm truly conflicted with this review, because the decor of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, service was extremely friendly, (thanks Stacey) and the Nebbiolo wine was perfection, but the food was just not at all what you would expect from a place that looked like this. The arancini was saltless and the consistency of the risotto/rice was hard to chew through, although it looked fried perfectly on the outside, it was simply not delicious. The rainbow trout again had no salt, as did the risotto, which honestly was the only star of the show food wise. But again, and please see the theme here, there was no salt. It's wild because the name of the restaurant is salt and and vine, but not one dish that I or any of my eating companions, engaged in had salt. I think I would try it again because the vibe is solid, but I'd love to know if it was a conscientious choice to not salt the food.

Yelp
First time at Salt and Vine in Olney. It's delicious. I love the outside seating in both front and back of the restaurant (note the inside looks really pretty - will try that next). Our server Molly was a delight. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I went to Salt & Vine on Saturday night before seeing Waitress at Olney Theatre. I have to say, I was SUPER impressed with my meal and service. I grabbed the last table at the bar and it was only 6pm. The place was packed!! You know that's a great sign. Despite the bar being super packed, Ronald, the Bartender took great care of me! I struggled to pick my meal as everything looked great. I settled on the tuna bites, beet salad and pesto pasta. The tuna bites were delicious!! The black rice on the bottom was crispy, with some creamy aioli, and a briny olive with the chopped up tuna. YUM! Such a great first bite. Then I moved onto my beet salad - it had charred goat cheese on top that I broke up to eat the beets, arugula, pistachios and strawberries below. The dressing was citrusy and bright. Win #2. My pasta came out pipping hot - even before I finished my salad. I was impressed at how quickly my food came out with the packed restaurant. This pasta was something special! Creamy pesto campanelle with asparagus and peas and topped with luscious burrata, touches of mint and cured lemon. WOW. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the dish was super flavorful! I am still drooling over it. Next time I'm in town, I'll be back. Thanks so much for the great meal!

Yelp
Delicious food, really friendly service and an adorable space - hits on all marks. Cruz was our server and just perfectly kind and friendly and attentive. The squid ink pasta was one of the best seafood pastas I've had in recent memory. The oysters and the veggie sides were delicious and the kids pizza is a great deal for $10.

Yelp
What a fantastic upscale local restaurant in Olney, Md. I wanted something Italian, but different. This location offers fine Italian dining. I tried a couple of dishes, the lobster and papardelle pasta with shrimp and the pear and gargonzola salad. Both dishes very filling and fantastic. The pasta was not rich and the pasta was very tasty. The salad was fresh and crisp. It was a perfect balance of sweet, crisp, and crunchy. Of course I had an old fashion with Angels Envy Rye. You can't go wrong there. I finished my meal off with a cheese cake. Per ending to a fantastic meal. The staff were great. Would definitely go back again.

Yelp
The place from the outside to the inside is really beautiful. They have different dining areas and all of them seemed very cozy and welcoming, nicely decorated. We had a reservation so we were promptly seated and taken care of. We were a party of two. Ordered a couple of mocktails to get started, both were delicious! As an appetizer we preferred the chicken fritta. I was thrown off by the uneven color of the chicken pieces qnd a calamari that I could clearly see as they put the place in front of us. It was also hard to tell if these were actual chicken pieces or trims or skins. The flavor was not bad but the extra greasy chicken pieces were just not what we were expecting. Additionally the fact that they are frying chicken (an allergen free food) in the same oil that they are frying seafood and everything else (we also got a bunch of artichoke residue) did not seat well with me for various reasons: 1. Not the best practice for an expensive restaurant for flavor reasons and oil maintenance, 2. I was with someone allergic to seafood, we were never asked about food allergies, which isa common practice in restaurants nowadays. So as soon as I saw the calamari in there I told the other person not to eat it. You may be wondering why I didn't complain, and that's because it was an special occasion and I didn't feel like dealing with a situation at that moment. As main courses, we ordered the salmon with a side of farro and the 10oz fillet mignon with a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes. The salmon was cooked to perfection, very yummy! The presentation was not very impressive and the green sauce did not add a lot of flavor but the lemon butter was a nice addition. The farro had a good flavor too but very, very, very greasy, to the point that you can see the oil on the picture. About the filet mignon, even though it had a great flavor, we asked for it to be cooked to medium-well and it was medium rare, very raw at the center and even it is a fine, expensive cut we just don't like our meat rare and for health reasons I cannot eat raw meat at the moment. So once again we chose to just let it be and did not send the meat back to the kitchen to be cooked to the doneness we wanted. The demi-glace sauce was delicious and so were the potatoes. I may go back to try more menu items and hope that they actually welcome and keep in consideration their customers' feedback.

Yelp
We live 10 mins away and I have always wanted to come dine. Since it's Valentine's weekend, I thought it'd be the perfect time to come try knowing they might have some specials for Valentine's day... And I was right! Parking is decent. They have parking all around the restaurant! Not difficult to find, even for a busy night like tonight we went, we still got a decent parking spot near the restaurant. Sure they thought about the design of this place and made it work for many people to dine in. I reserved a few days before valentine's day so I knew I won't be able to get the exact 14th night, but I got 13th at 8:30 reservation and got there a few minutes late. Hostess was friendly and we got seated very soon. Once you get inside from the front door, you can see immediately on the left is the kitchen with a giant wood fire oven, and then the right is the waiting area with some sofa seats with the wine shelf and bathrooms. The bar is also in another room which you can see from the right wine waiting room, it was busy on 13th night with many dining; not just drinking. The music and and lighting was set nicely with great ambiance. Honestly, we haven't gotten our seats but we were impressed by the interior design and ambiance that we know we'll love this place! Short after we got seated on the second floor, ordered our drink and food, waitress was nice and attentive. I'm glad we went on the 13th since they already have the valentine's menu! The wait was short and impressed how hot the food was arrived! The complimentary bread is focaccia with whipped butter, it's decent and heavy on the olive oil, somewhat cold. Texture and bread is decent just wish it's warmer. Main dishes we ordered: Valentine's special menu - duck breast, and the regular menu pasta dish - Spaghetti Al Nero Di Seppia. Both were amazing! We were most blown away with the duck breast. Juicy, tender, perfectly seared sides with a bit of crisp, good match of thick sauces (I believe one is red wine and the other is some potato cream white sauce?) We had duck before, but to have such succulent, tender, cooked perfectly duck breast? This is the first! And it's not in DC but Olney?! We were amazed. Wowed. So happy for this. The pasta is not wowzy since we were so amazed, but it's not far from perfect as well. The seafood all fresh and cooked perfectly, the squid ink pasta was Al Dante pair nicely with the sweet garlicky tomato sauce. It came to the table so hot I almost burnt my tongue! Thats how I know they did care for the food serving quality and how well they cook seafood. Margarita pizza was ordered since we saw the wood fire oven....and we just had to try their pies for that reason! It was great and the bread is airy and light. Good pie for sure, just not sure about the shredded cheese, seems a bit too much for margaritas and the addition cheese flavor is not needed. Overall wpuld try other pies as well and maybe even try this one again, but not the first choice. Lastly the dessert! Also a valentine's special - Strawberry cheesecake. We definitely were not expecting seeing a side of stuff on a plate instead of a triangle cake; creative approach tho. The flavor is there, the cheesecake...? Is the strawberry cheese mousse, and with a cream ice cream and some shortcake style bread/crust. Since we were really expecting cheesecake cake, this is interesting but not satisfying. We like the flavors but wish it's explained while we order, so at least expect it to be different. Overall, yes! Highly recommend for any celebration, or just a date! Birthday, anniversary, special date, etc! This is the spot! I am glad we finally made it and enjoyed a nice valentine's date night dinner here. The price is not for a regular lunch/ dinner, but it's definitely a place for special occasion. The food quality and vibe worth this price tag! With front of the house, back, and deck outdoor seatings, we will for sure come back during warmer days for lunch oland dinner! (Maybe even with our dog outside, which is perfect!) Great spot for Olney, very happy for this done in experience and will come again!

Yelp
Came here for brunch for the first time with a couple of other friends. Hubby and I ordered their meatballs appetizer, house pizza, zucchini frittata, tiramisu and peach Bellini. Total came out to approximately $92, not including tax. What's hot - Quality. Everything we ordered was delicious. The meatballs were tender, well-seasoned, and not too salty. The tomato sauce was not too thin and added a good additional flavor. My frittata was very delicious. I especially liked that the texture was not overly bready and thick (I.e., there was a good amount of vegetables). My husband's pizza was delicious. There was a good amount of toppings and the flavor was wonderful, especially the textured cheesiness of the pizza. - Menu. Nice variety and not overwhelming. There's something for everyone, including vegans. - Layout. It's a small restaurant, so intimate seating. I would not recommend large groups, over 6-8 people. - Portions. Good amount to get you full, not stuffed. - Price. Good value for money, especially given the portions. The peach Bellini we ordered comes with endless refills, which is why it costs $23. - Location. Pretty easy to find and has its own parking lot. What's not - Parking. Somewhat tight and not easy to maneuver. - Service. Not terrible, but not reliable. We had to ask for certain things multiple times, like lemon slices for our water, refilling our bread, and refilling drinks. It definitely took a while for us to get what we needed. The restaurant wasn't full when we were there and I'm uncertain what their staffing situation is like, so be prepared. Final Answer Would be nice to return again.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner at Salt & Vine some time ago and goodness gracious, to this day I still am to find a better place to dine in! The atmosphere, the service and the food all compliment one another. We will be back soon!

Yelp
Happy Hour food selection is reasonable and delicious. The bar tenders are friendly and provide recommendations. Fun cocktails and craft beer. Beautiful decor and ambiance.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful- to the right of the entrance is a bar area- trendy chic looking. We had reservations for a party of 7 and were seated upstairs. Our server was attentive and nice. The spaghetti seafood dish was sooo good. Not pictured is the calamari and Lobster bisque soup since we quickly gobbled them down. We would definitely return!

Yelp
This restaurant doesn't take walk in's so I highly recommend making reservations beforehand. If you walk in, you may find a seat at the bar. Servers are polite and professional. The food is the only reason I keep coming back, plus their cocktails. The restaurant is stunning, multiple floors levels and outside seating. Everything was delicious, however I would not recommend the scallops. The toppings/flavor just didn't pair nicely together.

Yelp
I've been to Salt & Vine twice and I enjoyed each occasion! The first time I went to Salt & Vine, I went with my significant other. We walked in and were amazed by how cute the restaurant was. The restaurant is like an old southern home theme and the bar was very elegant. Be started off with cocktails, which were extremely tasty. The drinks were strong but the flavor was outstanding! We started off with the chicken frita. The chicken was extremely crispy and flavorful! The sauce it came with was like a tangy mayo and chipotle, but not overpowering. For our main course, I ordered the salmon and my partner ordered the pasta with crab. Both meals were extremely flavorful and tasty! The salmon came with crispy mini potatoes and it was delicious. The salmon had a very nice salty flavor. My meal also came with a sauce, but I wasn't a fan. The meal didn't really need the sauce anyways. The second time I went to Salt & Vine, we rented out an upstairs room for a bridal shower. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Our meal included a 4 course family style meal. The food included sweet and savory brunch foods. We were all extremely full and satisfied with the meal. Everything was delicious!! I would definitely go back and try their happy hour and other menu items!

Yelp
The food was uniformly excellent. I had a charcuterie platter with prosciutto cheeses and jam and flatbread. I also had the Manicotti and cannoli for dessert. All were fresh, made from scratch and excellent. The down side was that, despite not being crowded the service was slow and one dish (the manicotti) was served 10 minutes after the other 3 entrees for my dining partners arrived. For the price, which is high end, this should not happen

Yelp
Had an absolutely fantastic time at Salt and Vine in Olney. The restaurant is housed in a historic house that has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for families or large groups. The interior is beautiful and well decorated. The menu is largely Italian and had variety of pastas and entrees to choose from. For the apps we had the polenta fries, whipped ricotta, fried artichokes and fried risotto. My favorite was the whipped ricotta which had a smooth texture and dash of honey topped with chilly flakes that created a perfect sweet and savory combination. I wasn't a huge fan of the polenta fries as they needed a little bit more seasoning and flavor. For our main we had the vodka penne and mushroom tagliatelle. Both were great and a big portion that was easy to share. Our dessert was the toasted almond cake and tiramisu. I was surprised by the almond cake which was light and refreshing. The tiramisu was good however it our piece was a little on the runny side. But the flavor was overall fine. The service was great, our waiter was always checking in on us and made sure our food came out in a timely manner.

Yelp
This would be a really cute rehearsal dinner location. Service was decent, but the food was a bit mediocre. However, I'm interested to come back and try some other dishes.

Yelp
Cannot say enough of this place. I love coming here when I am craving for some high standard Italian food. It's so close to my home and it's mind blowing. Recommend the penne ala vodka, bolognese and calamari. The best I have had till date. You get half portion too which is so perfect to try many different things. The service is excellent and the ambiance is very high scale and comforting.

Yelp
Salt & Vine is a gem of an Italian trattoria and wine bar. I had the pleasure of having a belated birthday dinner here. The place is aesthetically beautiful. The service was impeccable. The classic French 75 cocktail was made to perfection! The best I've ever sipped with delight. The Fried Calamari and the Wood Fire Oysters did not disappoint. The Lobster Pappardelle was a bit too al dente for my liking, but was a generous portion. Dinner ended with a decadent tiramisu. Every bite was an exquisite balance of creamy, bitter, and sweet; leaving a lingering taste on the palate. There is outside seating, but the view is of the parking lot. I recommend requesting to be seated upstairs in the main dining room. The decor is more light and airy, and there's more spacing between the tables. I highly recommend dining here if you're looking for a nice dinner with delicious food, and the ambiance to match.

Yelp
I met a friend at Salt & Vine today for lunch. It was the first visit for both of us. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside on the front porch. She ordered a 1/2 Orecchiette pasta dish, which she enjoyed. I had the beet salad and baked oysters. The beet salad was outstanding. Oysters were very tasty. They bring out a basket of focaccia bread that is yummy. It was such a nice day that we lingered outside over coffee. I would definitely go back to try more dinner items.

Yelp
I've been several times since my last review. Salt &Vine is solid. Food quality is very good. Still wish they could course apps and entrees. Visited last week and apps and entrees all arrived at the same time. It's a busy, busy place. I get it, but for the price point, service could still be more precise. Cocktail program is pretty solid. It's worth a trip when visiting Olney.

Yelp
The experience was excellent. Felt like we could have been in a restaurant in NY. They did a great job with the decor. We had an Amazing server Bella. She made some great recommendations, she was warm and welcoming. Bella saved the day. When we were seated near 40 mins after our reservation time, she apologized for the wait. This was unlike the manager that walk past us several times never acknowledging us and the hostess that just stayed at her station, and not giving us a second glance. Manager never came to the table to introduce himself he went to a select few tables.. Bella said she was new there but she was a real professional and really cares for the customers. The Best! I'd definitely go back and recommend but management needs to improve their customer service skills.

Yelp
This place is truly fantastic. My partner and I came here with our kids and didn't know what to expect but were blown away. Service was friendly and prompt. But the thing that we were most impressed by was the incredible wine list and the delicious food. We've lived in NYC, LA, DC, San Francisco and many other places. And I have to say, the food here was on par with some of the best restaurants we've ever eaten. Grandma's Meatballs were fantastic along with the broccolini. So many times meatballs taste dense or dried out. These were so tender and the herbed ricotta just made it pop so much. The wine menu was carefully curated. There were Pinot Noirs from Russian River and a Malbec from Zuccardi Winery in Mendoza, Argentina, one of the top wineries in the world. We could tell there was a lot of thought put into the selection. The place is also kid-friendly with our server not only engaging with our kids but immediately offering coloring menus and crayons. Finally the ambiance of this spot is on-point. It's a 2 story home with outdoor seating in the front. I booked this reservation since it was close to the Olney Theater, which was doing a production of Disney's Frozen. Little did I realize this meal would be the hit of the night!

Yelp
Went with my daughter late yesterday afternoon for an early dinner/post play theater. Was supposed to be a special time out. The waitress outdoors gave the impression that she was very overwhelmed, despite having, I believe, only 3 tables. We ordered appetizers, and I had a glass if wine, but we left before ordering our meals because it seemed like she was too busy. The focaccia was ok, the oil as bland. When I asked for cocktail sauce to go with our shrimp/calamari/scallop appetizer, the waitress seemed confused and rushed.

Yelp
Fried Artichokes: 10/10 Lobster Pasta Pappardelle: 10/10 Limoncello Mule: 10/10 WOW!!! Where do I even start with Salt and Vine. Came here for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved the whole experience. To start, our waitress Josie, was amazingggg. She made great recommendations, was very inviting, & had such a fun spirit about her!! Bread to start is complimentary while you figure out your meal. I ordered the Limencello cocktail to start & loved it. It was the perfect amount of citrus without being overbearing. We started with the fried artichoke because our waitress spoke so highly of it....and OH.MY.GOODNESS. it was so good!!! Pictures do not do it justice at all. It is packed with flavorful, melts in your mouth, and is so addicting I ordered the Lobster Papperdelle as my entree and again, just such a great pasta with great flavor & they do not skimp out on the lobster!! I highlyyyyy recommend Salt & Vine if you are in the Maryland area, and honestly worth the drive if you're in the dmv area!! If you go, request Josie, she's amazing!!! I will be back for those fried artichoke!

Yelp
Went here for my husband and his twin's birthday. Everything was still great from service to food! I tried to order different dish and loved it. I had the Full Campanelle Tostata which was so good. Only got the smaller portion but would definitely get that again.

Yelp
Everything about our experience was perfect. My family has very different tastes that are hard to accommodate and the food was so great, everybody loved every dish from the pastas to the steak to the salads and seafood and even the desserts. Josey / Joci our server was a delight and recommended such great menu items to us. When I book for events in the future, I will definitely request her. The ambience was so nice as well, upscale but still cozy and a beautiful exterior, Can't wait to be back again.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! I love that it looks and feels like a house, so it's very cozy inside. The decor is gorgeous, modern, and tasteful. I came here to catch up with a friend and so we just got drinks and a few bites. The sweet potato wedges were AMAZING - the flavor profile was unique and delicious, unlike I've seen at any other restaurant. I also got the bee keepers non alcoholic drink and it was so delicious and refreshing - highly recommend. Overall, I can't wait to come back to have an actual meal! The service was great, the ambiance was wonderful and I can't wait to try more food and drinks here. This is a perfect date night spot.

Yelp
This is one of those rare occasions when I wish I could give six stars. This place is absolutely adorable and very thoughtfully appointed with very nice artwork and wallpaper and other pretty details. Even the bathroom has pretty wallpaper and flattering light. Ladies, this place is perfect for a date night! Sam was our server and he provided tremendous, amazing, awesome service! He was friendly and had excellent recommendations. He was attentive and made our night perfect. I had the bolognese, which was off the hook. The gluten free focaccia bread was so tasty and the fried artichokes were delicious. My husband had the steak and potatoes which he loved. They have a nice wine list with affordable options, flights and more expensive Coravin selections by the glass. I enthusiastically cannot wait to come back.
