14 Fall Cocktails to Sip Right Now Around D.C. - Eater DC

"The fall drink menu just dropped at Rosslyn’s stylish cocktail bar. One standout is the “Cat Called Thyme,” which riffs on its lead ingredient of Barr Hill Tom Cat gin. The cocktail also toys with Cote Mas Brut, pomegranate, lemon, sage, and of course, thyme." - Kalina Newman

Salt Cocktail Bar Opening in JBG Central Place Plaza in Rosslyn | Eater DC

"Located at 1201 Wilson Boulevard at the base of JBG’s Central Place Plaza across from Nestlé’s headquarters, I found Salt to be a more mature-feeling cocktail bar that’s meant as an "escape" from Rosslyn’s 9-to-5 bustle. A short menu offers 12 shareable items — oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail and a platter of tinned Ortiz fish (sardines or anchovies) served with sesame crackers, butter, pickled mustard seeds and cornichons — while large-format entrees include a whole grilled branzino and a 24-ounce cowboy ribeye with roasted mushrooms and red wine jus; there’s also a wagyu burger topped with mushrooms, gruyère, crispy onions and white truffle aioli. An eight-seat granite bar showcases MHG beverage director Paul Williams’s cocktails, including the Silly Rabbit (Roku gin, yellow Chartreuse, carrot–star anise juice, almond orgeat, ginger and fresh lemon), Savor The Moment (shiitake-infused Toki Suntory whiskey, yellow Chartreuse, maple and Angostura bitters) and a seasonal Into The Woods (Maximo mezcal, Salers aperitif, Zirbenz pine liqueur, honey and Angostura bitters). Dramatic photographs of the Bolivian salt flats at sunrise and sunset help set the mood. Opening hours are 4 p.m.–11 p.m. Monday–Thursday, closing at 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and closed Sunday." - Tierney Plumb

Visited during Arlington’s 2025 Restaurant Week and had a great experience. The atmosphere was modern and inviting, and service was quick and attentive. We tried the tuna tartare nachos, garlic shrimp, and potato gnocchi to start, each dish was flavorful and well executed. The seabass was flaky and perfectly paired with a sweet squash sauce, the tuna entrée was fresh and distinct from the tartare, and the Wagyu burger was juicy, flavorful, and much larger than expected. Dessert was a strong finish, especially the homemade sorbet, which outshined even the rich chocolate cheesecake and silky panna cotta. Overall, Salt delivers creative dishes with a polished yet comfortable vibe. Highly

You already know, been here several times over the years and it’s a great spot. Sister speakeasy to Heirloom. Great atmosphere and great food. Almost perfect for a date night. It can be a little loud for a casual convo depending on where you are seated. And you can be a lil too close to a stranger seated nearby depending on where you are seated. Unless that’s your thing and you want to eavesdrop on an awkward first date haha. It’s right on that threshold of being almost too expensive for drinks. I feel like they are definitely pushing the limits on the pricing there. I mean it’s clever, what are you going to do if you are on a date, tell them they shouldn’t order that and get something cheaper lol. Of course not lol. The food is delish so that’s fair. Overall great spot and I have enjoyed all the times I have been here.

Google
I am extremely disappointed with my order. The quality and portion size were completely unacceptable. I ordered the fish, and what I received was a tiny cube that looked nothing like what is shown in all the photos or what other customers received. It appeared as if they may have ran out of fish and tried to pass off a scrap as a full order. This is not acceptable, my drink was water down. This place is not good quality anymore. The picture looks a little bigger but just to give you precise measurement it was inch both ways. I won’t be going back there are so many others speak easy restaurants in DC that’s great.

Google
We actually came for restaurant week and ended up partaking in happy hour instead....darn, guess we will have to come back! This place is fantastic, from the staff to the ambiance and the food itself. Dennis, our server was polite but funny and gave us great reccs when we were inquiring about some menu items. Overall, we had a blast and will 100% be back! - SpicyAivy

Google
I am always impressed with my cocktails from Salt. As a speakeasy enthusiast, they definitely leave a mark. This is probably my 4th time here and always remember the savoryness of the panna cotta but I will say, the food menu has lacked in flavor this time so I wont waste my money on food here anymore. Even the gnocchi I had a couple years ago and tried again this round, it was super bland. @explorewithdria

Google
The food was fantastic and the drinks were really good. Normally, I love sitting at the bar, talking with the bartender about my spirit preferences, and ordering something off-menu. This time we had a reservation for a table, which was nice, but I missed that bar experience. Still, the staff was warm and attentive, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Overall, a great spot whether you’re dining in or just grabbing a seat at the bar.

Google
Salt is a slightly hidden speak easy located in right outside of DC. The customer service and atmosphere was great. The food was even better. The cocktail pictured is Matcha My Freak. The appetizers: Calamari, Cauliflower Hummus, and Wagyu Sliders. The Entrees: Crab Cake, Wagyu Burger, and Braised Beef Ribs. Overall a great experience. I will definitely be returning. This establishment is small and quaint, so reservations are highly recommended.

Google
Let me tell you about our experience at Salt. I had dinner at Salt after hearing recommendations from my friends who enjoy dine there. When we came in, we actually went to open road, then a nice host let us know that the door to Salt kind of hidden, you’ll see when you got there ( i liked it tho). We got a nice table and at that time there weren’t many people ate at the dinjng area so we pretty much had the room to ourselves. We started by the drink called Herbal essence (a must!), then appetizers Shrimp and Gnocchi. For the entree we shared crab cake and 7 oz fillet. All were delicious that I couldn’t ordered dessert anyway, i def will comeback and try more of the food and you should too.

Yelp
Ever wonder what it feels like to have your soul leave your body? Head over to SALT, order the wagyu burger, and prepare for reincarnation. I promise you'll see your past lives flash before your eyes, and they'll all be envious of your current taste buds. I started my journey with the wagyu burger and truffle fries. Friends, this wasn't just a meal--it was a culinary ascension. One bite, and I was transcending the physical plane. The burger was so tender, so juicy, I suspect it was cooked by a team of celestial beings. The truffle fries? They could probably broker world peace. Then came the tuna chips. Let me tell you, if I had tasted these back in college, I'd have changed my major to...well, something that could justify eating these all day. Philosophy of Tuna Chips, maybe? Each bite was a revelation, crispy and fresh, with flavors that danced on my tongue like a troupe of well-choreographed ballerinas. But the pièce de résistance? The pork belly baos. They were BALLING, spicy af, and had me crying tears of joy and heat. It was like a spicy slap to the face from a delicious pork deity. Who knew you could find enlightenment through a bao bun? And the cocktails? I had two sweet concoctions that transported me to a sugar-induced paradise. Each sip was like drinking liquid sunshine, perfectly balanced and utterly delightful. The service at SALT was nothing short of fantastic. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even more memorable. The vibe and ambiance were top-notch, making it the perfect spot to lose yourself in a gastronomic adventure. If you haven't been to SALT yet, do yourself a favor and go. Trust me, your taste buds (and possibly your soul) will thank you.

Yelp
It reminded me of a speakeasy bar with very dark décor. If you like a lot of light and ambiance, this is not the place for you. I'm NOT saying this in a derogatory way; as they say, "different strokes for different folks." I didn't mind it because a friend recommended it and I was meeting her there to try it out. Their Crispy Calamari was seasoned and cooked to perfection with all the fixings. Of course, it's all about sharing, so we tried the Tuna Tartare Nachos, Gambas al Ajillo, and the Truffle Parmesan Fries. Once we shared these dishes, we were too full to eat an entrée. This was a quick meet-up to share personal and work life with the both of us. We will have to return to try the entrees, along with some more seasonal and classic drinks.

Yelp
Salt for me is always a hard place to decide if I love or just think is fine. I'm from NYC and have lived in Manhattan for years so Rosslyn is far from my favorite place to be, but when travelling for work Salt is incredibly convenient for me to go to and in terms of being "NY-lite" fits the bill, while also being the antithesis of NY. Salt bills itself as a speakeasy, but it has a pretty easy to find glass door that leads to a hostess stand with a lot of people who clearly have never been to a speakeasy inside. However, the crowd is far more refined than upstairs at Open Road, or anywhere else in the neighborhood. The booths are also far sexier and the lighting far better than anything else around. Which means that when making a recommendation, just on ambiance alone if we're going to remain in Rosslyn, we might as well choose Salt. Then comes the food - it's again the most inventive food in Rosslyn, great concepts around tuna tartare, solid meatballs, burger that really takes the cake with interesting ingredients and additions. But, it's not pushing the envelope in any way, it's like they took the best of 2019 and put it on the menu. And it's good, but it reminds you that you're still in a corporate office building's basement. It's hard to hate on perfectly executed calamari with a spicy vietnamese aioli or really solid gambas spanish tapas style - but again, I've been eating that for well over a decade. You should get both though if you do dine, and the burger, it's just really great. The cocktails are good too, and sometimes slightly more inventive. Nothing is bad, but nothing is going to have you submitting this for best bar in the world. I will keep coming back to Salt because it is the Best of Rosslyn - but I do hope it would push the rest of Rosslyn to try a bit harder.

Yelp
This was an incredible burger. Full of flavor, great balance of savory, saucy, fat from the bacon and it all came together well. Definitely a burger worth trying if you're close to Rosslyn or if you're far. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice rosslyn town area. And the staff was friendly and helpful with our requests. Quality burgers and food.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Parking was a bit hard to find but other than that everything was perfect. They took us on time for our reservation and our waiter was very attentive to us the whole time. We got the seared tuna, filet sliders, and, the gnocchi. The tune was my favorite, it had so many flavors going on. The drinks were also very good. They even gave me free cheesecake for my birthday which was a nice surprise. The restaurant was very romantic and dimly lit with candles which made it the perfect date night place. The prices weren't too bad either considering everything. I will deffenitly be going back to here. Totally recommend!

Yelp
If you want a delicious burger and divine cocktails from a constantly changing drink menu, come to Salt. Great speakeasy vibes and great for a date night. They also have a Monday date night deal you should definitely check out.

Yelp
Came here with a few friends on a Friday evening around 6:30 and got to grab a chair from the bar and pull it up to a small table they had available which was a nice surprise (we were expecting a wait). The speakeasy ambiance is on point and the staff is even more on point! Lovely souls and friendly people work here! The Wagyu Burger was amazing and the truffle fries were also great. I recommend this spot for a date night or just some drinks. We will be back!

Yelp
You have to make a reservaton here, my husband said they are typically booked out a month in advance. He brought me here for my bday. It's dimly lit speakeasy vibes remind me of NY restaurants and I loved the atmosphere. The music was some of the best I've ever heard in a restaurant, no pop music, no elevator music, straight R&B classics like old school Drake (pre-hair bows) and Frank Ocean. I was vibing all night thanks to the playlist. They have HH M-F 3-7pm and the waygu burger is $5 off during HH, that's the only food item available on the HH menu. We went on a Monday and they had a $55 Monday dinner special where you choose 2 appetizers, 1 entree, and one dessert to share between 2 people. Service: The staff was friendly and not overbearing. The only thing that caught me off guard was when we were seated the waitress said we had a 2 hour time limit, I'm used to bottomless brunch having a time limit but not dinner. It was a little off putting but I totally get it. By that same token, we didn't feel rushed while dining, so the time limit is fine by me. I enjoyed watching the bartenders mix up drinks. Food & Drinks: We ordered the hummus with waygu waygu burger with fries, and crab cake. Everything was tasty. Thus was the star of the show with freshly buttered, warm, and soft pita bread. The hummus was smoothie and the topped waygu was perfect. The only thing that would've taken it up a notch was a few pepperoncini peppers, there were about 3 slices of thin slightly pickled jalapeños on top. The crabcake entree only came with one crab cake, so to me, it's more of an appetizer because most establishments serve 2 crab cakes with their entrees. The waygu burger was tasty but I ordered it without the truffle aioli because I can't stand the smell of truffle. My husband ordered the old fashioned which he enjoyed and said was strong, I ordered a zero proof mocktail (no alcohol) and it was delicious. Th mocktail was $8. Issues: I ordered my fries and burger without the truffle. The burger was served without the truffle but my fries came with truffle on it. When my new batch of fries came, they no longer had parmesan on them (unless the truffle is in the parmesan, which I doubt because I tasted the truffle in a fry without parmesan) I still wanted parmesan. So I was served plain fries, with no parm and not even any salt on them. I didn't even send back the 2nd batch of fries because I didn't want to be a nuisance. The receipt came and I noticed they didn't charge us the HH price for our waygu burger which should've been $5 off. The menu said the burger was $26 (regular priced) and to add fries would be $3, so it should've been $29. We were charged $30 (which is $1 extra anyway). The price for our burger and fries should've been $24 ($21 + $3), so I let the waitress know and she said "oh that's an old menu, the price on the burger went up by $5, let me get my manager" so they adjusted the price and made it right. Online it still says the old price of $26 and it's kinda sleazy to increase the price by $5 just to make the burger the old regular price during HH. Overall: I would come back during HH, but likely focus on appetizers and drinks.

Yelp
Excellent experience overall! Jamie was a wonderfully friendly and attentive waitress and the bartenders also seemed nice when they brought over the cocktails. The wagyu burger was incredible, cooked medium rare (maybe slightly burnt on a small part of the crust) with accompanying fried onions, mushrooms, and Gruyère cheese. The tuna tartare nachos were pretty good but nothing super remarkable. Same with the drinks. The service and atmosphere were the best parts of the night. Subtracting a star because I was charged full price ($17) for a seasonal cocktail (Adios Primo) which was supposed to be $2 off during happy hour (4-7pm weekdays, ordered this drink around 5:55pm). Minor mistake but still a slight breach of customer trust.

Yelp
Top 2 favorite bars in DC. Cocktails were sublime (best espresso martini I've ever tasted), ambiance was soooo classy, and service was fantastic. Food was pretty good too-- I was surprised by how pretty the plating was!

Yelp
Service was GREAT! Perfect for a date night. The vibe in the place is sexy. We had the Beef Short Rib, Crab Cake, Wagyu Burger, Garlic Shrimp and Crispy Calamari. The drinks were mixed to perfection! Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Vibey, dark, romantic perfection. Cocktails are unique and delicious, as is their elevated bar food! Servers are very knowledgeable, attentive and helpful! Great for a date night or happy hour!

Yelp
Salt is a diamond ($$$) in the rough! Come for an intimate, casual and relaxing "speak-easy" experience in Rosslyn, VA, nearby downtown Washington DC. Highly recommend a reservation, as it's very popular for their handcrafted drinks, desire to fulfill your beverage passion (2nd to none), and super friendly, engaging and knowledgeable service! A bit pricey, but such a worthy experience!! We came for a drink, and only friends ordered some food, but it looked delicious. Overall, solid 4.5 rating for me given intimate ambience, fantastic service and unique drinks! Expect to pay $15-20 per specialty drink, and $15-20 for a starter appetizer or ~$20-30 for entrees. Everyone in our group ordered a different adult beverage, each individually crafted (except the beer); I chose the "I'm the Captain Now". The server was engaging to ask what I preferred in a drink such as my go-to spirits, flavor likings, any avoidances etc., and POOF, the bartender created a special drink treat - how cool, WOW! My drink turned out to be a high end Vodka and uniquely flavored with touch of cranberry, tamarind and more - it was easy to drink and thirst quenching!! For food, the Gnocchi plate and Pork Belly Steamed Buns looked excellent; both were enjoyed and recommended by our friends. I will definitely plan to have a meal or food with my drink(s) on my next visit to Salt! Hope you get to check it out, ENJOY!!!

Yelp
Came here on a first date (so I didn't take any pics haha) and it was my first time as well. I loved the atmosphere here, with the low lights and privacy as it felt very intimate. Our waiter was Roman and he was very attentive and encouraging in terms of what to try without hovering. I started with the purple haze, it was delicious but it felt like more foam than drink which for the price was a bit of a let down. We shared: Waygu Meatballs - amazing texture and the sauce was so rich and savory Calamari - the consistency of the calamari was perfect and the sauce served with it was a great balance of salty and sweet and the pickled onions put it over. Pork belly - it was really dry and chewy so I sent it back. There was no issue doing this and Roman took it off the bill. Overall I'd come back for the atmosphere and to try something else.

Yelp
I'm not sure how this place is not 5 stars!! The service here is amazing! Damari was awesome and the food recommendations were on point, I'm sure everything in the menu is delicious. Miguel at the bar was also very courteous and helpful. I had the calamari and the wagyu burger and they were both amazing. Perfect place to bring a date. I plan on coming back next week! I wish I could give this place 10 out of 5 stars!

Yelp
A great bar with amazing drinks I got Za Pop A it had 3 different liquors in it, it was very good. Definitely recommend this drink if you like darker liquors Service was quick even though we had 8 people on our table and the waitress was very nice and gave us reccs The inside is dark and cozy and I will definitely be returning to try something else.

Yelp
Small and intimate setting. Low lighting and great music selection the evening we went. The good R&B if you can imagine. We made reservations and were seated in a timely manner. Service was slow but our waitress was nice. We enjoyed our appetizers and entrees. Portions aren't big but satisfying to us.

Yelp
The atmosphere was dark and moody. The food was amazing and front door was fun to find. A must go

Yelp
Enjoyed my experience here. Cute speakeasy in Arlington, VA. Food and drinks were good. For drinks we ordered the old fashioned and Mo-FiYa. We got some calamari, burrata salad and wagyu burger. Food came out pretty fast. Ambiance was nice. Our server was polite and attentive. Definitely will be back. They almost didn't serve me a drink because my ID was expired. I had to provide them with proof of extension... So they pay attention to everything.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite to eat (Small plates) and a couple of drinks. Service was attentive and they give you 2.0 hours from your reservation time. We planned on a few small plates but opted to split the Wagyu Burger and fries. The Burger was absolutely delicious and if you get anything to eat please let it be this. So flavorful! Ambiance was what I expected for a speakeasy, dark and what felt like a 70's decor. No complaints. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area again.
google avatar

Chell H.

Yelp
2nd visit & still a nice vibe! We got a variety of dishes and drinks and really enjoyed all of them. We even went to the bar after dinner to get an additional drink. Such a nice place.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing service! The servers were super attentive and polite despite it being relatively busy on a Friday night. The portions are like large tapas so it's well priced. Highly recommend the tuna tartare which I get almost everywhere I go - it was one of the best I've had the dmv. I also inhaled the pork belly buns. Very soft And crispy at the same time! I enjoyed the cosy date night vibe this underground restaurant brings. Din lighting and music just loud enough to set a vibe but hear your table perfectly !

Yelp
This one was a tough one but landed at 4 stars. Main verdict is I'd definitely come back for happy hour/ early afternoon bites, but probably not for dinner. The place is located behind a giant door in Rosslyn underneath happy eatery. The second you enter, it had a dark speakeasy vibe. The staff are all dressed very professionally and the decor was fitting. We were seated in the bar area and got some cocktails to start which were very inventive and delicious (got one that tastes like pho). Will definitely be back to try out others in the future. Unfortunately the food left something to be desired. Starting with the positives. The wagyu burger and fries were delicious. Well cooked and perfectly constructed. Granted the price point is a bit higher but during happy hour you can get $5 off. The remaining dishes however were all mediocre at best. The gambas was fine but the tune tasted just like the teriyaki sauce poured over everything. The carbonara was .... Not very flavorful unfortunately despite how good it looked. Minor issues but made me feel like probably a better happy hour/social spot rather than a sit down dinner spot
google avatar

Yelp
I recently started going to Salt and I don't know how I have lived without it. Definitely make reservations because it books up fast, especially on the weekends. The food and drinks were are amazing. My favorite drink right now is the Girls Just Wanna Have Pho, which is a shockingly souplike flavor in a cocktail. Perfection. But I haven't had a drink there I didn't like. Love the lavender haze, what's up doc, the mezcal one, the mushroom one, all good. The food is great too. I like all the small plates and my favs are the gnocchi and the tuna tartare. But the meatballs and buns are also good. The service and bartenders here are all professionals and I love coming here. Definitely stop here if you are in Arlington
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
Speakeasy vibes, phenomenal food and one of a kind cocktails! The service is some of the friendliest I've ever experienced as well. Cannot recommend enough!
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Ambiance: relaxing, casual atmosphere with great food and service. The simplest dishes here have so much flavor to them, worth the money. Most of the drinks are $14+ but they're so worth it, some come with a fire show. If you want a fire show, try the Mo Fi-Ya...the whole table gets to experience the nice aroma of smoked rosemary and cinnamon. The Tuna Tartare Nachos are f*ing DELICIOUS!!! Sweet, savory and fresh tuna on crispy wontons really hit the umami spot.

Yelp
SALT is a speakeasy style joint downstairs from Open Road. The venue is small, dark and intimate with some of the best flavors and service you will ever experience. I discovered this spot on a business trip and immediately made a reservation for a second visit before I left. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a drink or make a reservation for dinner. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Caitlin S.

Yelp
My husband and I came here with two friends after dinner at Open Road on a Friday night. I love a cocktail bar and Salt did not disappoint. We sat in a little booth in the front room, and there was a larger space for bigger groups in the back. My friend and I both ordered the Mo Fi Ya which was presented with a show by our server. We also ordered the hummus with wagyu and it was pretty tasty.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Rosslyn, under Open Road, find @saltrosslyn . Classically driven cocktails with innovative twists and turns. Seasonal flavors give way to an ever evolving flavor profile to match the mood. Highly recommend their "Girls Just Wanna Have Pho" and their Tuna Tartare. Yelp
Loved everything about Salt, the service was amazing and the staff was beyond attentive and helpful with explaining the drink options. It's a warm and intimate vibe, definitely perfect for a date night or a small group of friends to catch up. It's a small restaurant so I'd highly recommend making a reservation even for HH. All the tables come with a 2 hr timeframe and it gets pretty busy. The cocktails are delicious and you can tell they put alot of effort into creating the drinks. The food is also good and I'd recommend the waygu burger, calamari and the pork bao buns.

Yelp
Friends and I went on another persons recommendation. It was spot on. It is a a little difficult to find. Keep searching and you shall find. Interesting decor. Dark, soulful music from 1960-1970 era and decor was very pleasing. Check in was disconcerting. It puts me off when host staff ask "do you have a reservation?" It is the tone and delivery which makes or breaks it for a restaurant. We were told there was bar seating only. They were fully booked. Looking around at 5:30 PM there were plenty of tables. It is allays a hard pill to swallow when being treated as second class patrons. There is only the bar, one table and a very small counter to be seated at for eating in the bar. Knowing the drinks are a cash cow, it surprised us how restrictive the seating was. We were fortunate enough to get the table. Now the fun begins. The non-host staff is beyond friendly and inviting. The introductions never stopped. The staff were wonderful. They kept the water filled, table clean and drinks coming. A special shout out to Damarrie (spelling of his name is a guess). Great server, knows his stuff. He knows his drinks and the Salt menu very well. His recommendations were superior. We were never disappointed with what he felt might be a good fit. It made the check in experience less stinging. The tapas were good as a whole, there were a few that did not wow us. There were some where we wanted more. The flavors were clean, complementary and well versed. The bar was the place to be. It was a party with people who knew how to keep the guests happy, comfortable and well taken care of.

Yelp
Always a hit. I live next door & come here all the time. Never a let down on food, drinks & service- everything is always a hit! Highly recommend Salt to everyone I know!

Yelp
I've always had a great experience with the service here- from the hostess stand to the bar they always try and give you the best. The drinks are all very fancy and have very unique flavors. And the food is really good! I recommend the carbonara or the Waygu burger (best burger I've ever had). Inside it's pretty dark and intimate and it makes you never want to leave!

Yelp
Actually I really hate this place. The first time I encountered it was when I tried to get a seat for a date and they turned us away because they were super duper busy. I got my free books of matches though. Anyway came in again for another day the other night and my date made a reservation so there's that this time they didn't have the free matches. Boohoo. The major issue I have with this place was the service. We were reminded multiple times that there was a 2-hour limit and basically herded like sheep to order drinks move it along etc. I didn't find it very hospitable and clearly the staff are under pressure to get people in and out. There's plenty of free street parking and the ambiance is pretty dark if that's your thing. I can't say that I'll ever try the speakeasy again and that's coming from a chica who loves speakeasies

Been here for drinks once and recently went again for food and drinks. I REALLY love the drinks here. I think they are creative and done extremely well. I also had the Wagyu burger this recent visit and it was delicious--I would get that again whenever I'm craving a nice, juicy burger. The only reason I deducted a star is because unfortunately some others in my party didn't enjoy their food so I think you might have to stick with drinks, Wagyu burger, and maybe a select few other dishes there. Very good service and I love the speakeasy ambiance there. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
A great location for happy hour or a date night out. The ambiance is dark and sexy. The staff is welcoming and attentive and the drinks and food were great! Will definitely be visiting again. Reservations recommended. There is a table time limit. I visited for happy hour and had house cocktails and gambas ai aijillo (who was sooo good but really spicy so don't order if you can't handle the heat)

Yelp
I have been to salt quite a few times and I am never disappointed. They always have interesting seasonal drinks on the menu, and I often like to try their daily drink. I like the drinks because they are more interesting than the drinks I usually order. We often start with the crispy miso pork belly as an appetizer and its delicious! I love the sauce that comes on the side. Im not a big fatty meat person though, so I usually have very little of this dish. Still, it's tasty. My partner almost always gets the tuna dish. We have also tried the gnocchi which was also a great choice. My absolute favorite menu item is the burger! I actually order this every single time I go. I always get the fries with it. I order it medium and have always had it cooked just right. For dessert, my favorite is the chocolate cheesecake. It's rich, but not so rich that I can't eat most of it myself. It is definitely quite chocolatey though, which I love, but isn't for everyone. I wish it came with more whipped cream to even that out a bit, but I still love it.

Yelp
Seriously love this place! It's a bit of a drive and parking kind of sucks (we always look for street parking). I'm a little surprised to the bad reviews but to each their own! My fiancé & I are big cocktail lovers and if you've ever watched Drink Masters, literally this place gives Tao vibes. It is a bit dark in here but most speakeasy-esque places are! Drinks are fabulous and we love the random specialty ones. As for food, we haven't tried too much but the Pork Belly, Buns, & Burgers are pretty great! The last time we went, I swear there was a foodie couple next to us and she gave the biggest compliment on a crab dish. Can't wait to explore more food options next time we're here!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back! My friend brought me here for my birthday and I'm so happy she did. The food was superb and the cocktails were not only delicious but had great presentation. I ordered the Mo Fia mezcal cocktail which was Smokey and delicious. We shared everything and so glad we did so we could try a lot of different dishes. They switch up their menus and we went when they started their fall menu for this year. We tried the burrata, crispy miso pork, housemade gnocchi, and pappardelle bolognese. Everything was so flavorful and presentation was also on point. My favorite was the crispy miso pork where the meat was very crispy but also so tender it melt in your mouth. The chili glaze and apple gochujang purée was so tangy, sweet and had a kick to it. The housemade gnocchi also came on a bed of delicious veggies of mushrooms, butternut squash, and brussel sprouts. It was difficult to find though, I was lost and my friend had to come out to find me. You don't go up the stairs but instead inside what looks like an office building and then you see a wall of wood. The door handle towards the middle of the wall is the entrance to Salt. You then head down some stairs to be greeted by the host. The ambience is super romantic, dark and sexy. It would be great to bring a date! They also have large booth tables so good for groups. You must make a reservation though as it gets busy. I also appreciated when the General Manager came by each table to check in on how things were going. The staff is very attentive and well trained. I am already thinking which cocktails and dishes I would try next when I visit again! My husband works in Rosslyn so trying to find an excuse to meet up with him at Salt for dinner when he gets off work sometime. The only downside is I really hate parking in Rosslyn. There are paid garage parking nearby but I was lucky to find street parking right on that street in front of Cava. There is a 3.5 hour max on that street but my friend parked on another street nearby that was only 1 hour max so she had to update on ParkMobile. Overall, for the food, drinks and ambience, definitely will go again and I love it when menus can be seasonal so it keeps it interesting and there's always something new to try.

Yelp
Such a cool, lowkey, boujee spot. For the service and experience that you get, you would expect to pay much higher prices than you do. We got the Wagyu burger and crab cake. Both were excellent. Highly recommend for date night if you're willing to pay mid to high prices!

Yelp
This is a wonderful date night spot. The ambiance is very calm and relaxed and the music is not too loud. You can have a conversation with the individuals sitting at the table.

Yelp
Perfect date spot for a Friday night. I like how Salt seems small at first when opening the doors, which gives it that speakeasy feel. But when looking to the right, has more sections with tables. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to be seated immediately. They got our drinks and food order pretty quickly and frequently checked on us. I like the dim lighting, not a big fan of how loud the music is but it definitely adds to the whole vibe. That wagu burger is phenomenal - soft and savory. My bf ordered it and swears it's one of the best wagu burgers he's had! I ordered roasted mushrooms on the side just to munch on something. My seasonal cocktail was flavorful and refreshing! Would definitely order it again. The drinks are decorated beautifully.

Yelp
I loved this place! The ambiance is cozy and the service was top notch. We ordered a bunch of sides to share (charcuterie, truffle fries etc) and loved it so much we ordered whole meals. The cocktails were divine! My mezcal drink came with flames, and the lavender haze cocktail was so dreamy. I'll definitely be back when I return to the D.C. area!

Yelp
Food is fabulous. Sleek atmosphere. Server was spectacular! Make a rez. It's very small. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
I've been to this convenient speakeasy several times now, it's always a good time. Excellent tasty cocktails... some with a fun show! Food is okay but quite overpriced ...I'd skip if possible unless you are starving. But there is a really cool rooftop area for eating during Happy hour that's lovely when the weather permits ! Service is excellent truly! I have never been happier with the service here. Vibes in the basement is very romantic and intimate --speakeasy style for sure. Love the setting. Upstairs is a restaurant with typical post work vibes. Outside setting is also romantic but casual.

Yelp
Really cute speakeasy near Rosslyn station. Low lighting and adult vibe. The calamari and meatballs were delicious. The drinks were tasty and packed a punch.

Yelp
A small, intimate restaurant behind a fresh fish market. We knew as soon as we walked in this place would be good, but it was better than we could have expected. Great food, great service, perfect place for a date night!

Yelp
Had some difficulty finding it- but I guess that is to be expected for a speakeasy!! I had to eventually call after circling the block. I was greeted with a smile. Upon being seated I was told about the two hour limit. But we were able to stay a little longer. I started with the "Nuthin' But a "T" Thang" cocktail. It was delicious and I had a few more. We split the tuna tartar nachos. They were fresh and light; I would get them again. We also had the gnocchi. They were another very splittable appetizer. They were ok. I ended with the Gin& Juice cocktail which was more sweet. They have a happy hour menu too. Service was very good. I loved the dark warm atmosphere of the place. Some of the tables seem too close though. I would definitely return.

Yelp
So we were excited to try out Salt and arrived early to have a couple of drinks at the bar. The drinks were great and our bartender, Jamar, was fantastic and the only reason this is getting three stars. He is also the only reason we will be back. We sit down to our table and this is where things go awry. Waiter takes awhile to show up, but no biggie. We place a food and drink order and the appetizers show up and that was the last time our waiter (baldish man with a beard) came to our table. We got a charcuterie plate, but never received small plates to use, which was a little awkward, but whatever. We also got the pork buns, which were good. We never ordered dinner bc our waiter literally never came back to the table. This was strange bc he had a table right next to ours and as he took their order and brought them small plates for an appetizer that they hadn't even received, we assumed he would turn around and take our order. But no. At this point we're laughing quietly bc it's just snowballed and was ridiculous. Maybe another 10 minutes goes by and he still hasn't come back or acknowledged us in any way. We've given up on eating dinner here at this point bc we are just frustrated. Miraculously I am able to flag him down and ask for our check. He is completely oblivious to the empty glasses, plates, and doesn't say even a cursory 'oh hey sorry it's busy tonight. I know I haven't been by in 30 minutes.' We wait another 10 minutes for the check. I've only stiffed a server twice in my life, but this guy should have been the third. Despite this, I couldn't make myself do it bc of the awesome bartender, but the tip wasn't great. Unless the waiter was just having a really off night, he is doing Salt a disservice and at least for us, cost them $100 on the evening and if it weren't for Jamar we would write this place off. When we come back, we'll just stay at the bar.

Yelp
I went to Salt for date night this past Friday. It was a vibe! Initially a little difficult to find, but I called and was easily directed in how to find it. Our service was exceptional. To drink, I had the Barrel Aged Maple Old Fashion which was great. For small bites, we had the Crispy Calamari and Waygu Meatballs which were absolutely delicious. The music was really dope too! Again, this spot was a vibe and I would definitely go back!
