"The second outpost from Woolwich brewery Hop Stuff, Taproom SE8 is another fresh addition to Deptford Market Yard. Bedecked with a domed pizza oven, reclaimed wine barrel tables and rough plywood surfaces, the space is stylish but approachable (uncommon in the trendier-than-thou world of craft beer.) Alongside the brewery’s core range, local beers are also celebrated, with guests such as Deptford-based Villages and The Gipsy Hill Brewing Co. Hop Stuff’s Juicy Fruit Pale Ale is a must try, as is a pizza topped with Calabrian ‘nduja, mozzarella and basil." - Jonathan Hatchman

I had high hopes for this place as the pizzas look really good. Unfortunately they’re mediocre, there’s nothing to them, I don’t think they could make them any thinner if they tried. They have a great selection of drinks on offer and it has a good atmosphere but I won’t be having the pizza again.

Tasty pizza and a good selection of beers, although can be pricey (paid £7.80 for a pint). Unfortunately the service was very slow even though the majority of the tables were empty. We had to get up to get our menu, ask for our table to be cleaned and get their attention to order our food. Pictured: Quattro formaggi (4 cheese) pizza and nduja pizza.

Pizza were good; thinner crust - rec getting the oh honey which flavour was a surprisingly good blend. Good for big groups

Very cool place for a drink and some food. Gets a decent amount of afternoon sun. Pizza’s are fantastic out of the wood fired oven (best Nocerella olives I’ve ever had too). Great range of Salt craft beers and a reasonable cocktail menu. Only downside is when it’s busy and there’s a few cocktail orders it can take a while to get served.

Tried a few pizzas from the menu, good atmosphere within the venue. Pizza’s have original and unique flavours, large beer selection available. Only thing that stops it from having 5* is the price. Fairly expensive for what you get but get good quality overall.

Best pizza in Deptford (maybe even in London!). Really, what a place! The vibes, music and staff are so good that you want to come over and over again. We’ve been here 3 times by now and each time is such a treat. Pizza crust is so thin, cheese melty and delicious. You must try their specials, they change menu very often and offer different toppings and draft beer! The garlic base is incredible, combined with chili olive oil gives the flavour you will never forget! If you’re in area, highly recommend this place!

Visited on Sunday, a full hour and twenty minutes before closing time. Went to order pizzas at the bar and was told they weren't taking any more pizza orders because they had a few in already (the place was half empty with no one sitting outside) and the pizzaoili wanted to go home. I'd cycled 100 miles for Ride London that day and had been dreaming of that beer and pizza but they just weren't interested. Incredulous, I went around to ask the people making the pizzas directly if they could just make 2 more but got nowhere either. A blonde lady who I surmise might be the manager appeared behind me and explained one guy had burned his hand and even though he was still working, they weren't going to make any more pizzas than the ones they were already making 😵‍💫. The sorry I got was so uninterested it might as well have been 'sucks to be you'. So yeah, I won't be back in a hurry.

We gave them many chances as we are living near by. Pizza is ok when you get it, Unfortunately there are many occasions when it’s sadly impossible. They are often running out of cheese or dough and might stop serving pizza although you are there at 20.30 and the kitchen was suppose to be open till 21.00 as stated on the sign at the door. Especially yesterday when we weren’t able to get a pizza anymore the service was particularly unpleasant. I was working for over a decade in a restaurant myself and i know how easy it is to be polite especially because we didn’t do anything wrong besides asking for a pizza. Another table literally just received their pizzas and the kitchen was visibly fully staffed and just finished the previous order. As mentioned we also arrived in time, nevertheless the lady behind the bar was arrogant and uninterested in our presence and made the call not to serve us pizza anymore. This incident was sadly one too much. Just to make that clear, if the person behind the bar wouldn’t have been treating us this way, I only would have stopped coming but my partner is a very good person and to be mean to him is unacceptable
