"If you want to really learn about Icelandic cuisine (traditional dishes include fermented shark and smoked sheep's head), take a cooking class with Salt, where you will make yourself an all-star meal (think morning-caught arctic char and traditional crepe-like Icelandic pancakes)."

Great cooking class in a beautiful space! We took an Icelandic cooking class here on a vacation. Made an amazing arctic char appetizer, a crusted rack of lamb main course, and a skyr pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious! The kitchen is huge, airy, and beautiful. The teachers/owners Siggi and Sigrid are lovely. And at the end, you eat the fruits of your labor paired with some great wines. Highly recommend!

Superb experience! The chefs really share the love of their heritage and craft, helping us learn more about Iceland's food, but also its rich history. The food we made was delicious, of course, but the memories created were priceless. We are very happy and highly recommend booking a session on your trip!

We had an amazing time here last March. I meant to write a review and just kept on forgetting. What a surprise when we booked an afternoon class and ended up having the entire kitchen to ourselves! It's much busier in the evening classes from what I hear. Loved learning about Iceland and their culinary influences while enjoying a spectacular view and an even more spectacular lunch! Thank you to chef Eli (apologies if I forgot your name) you were a great teacher and I recommend this experience to any foodie travelling to Reykjavik.

Wonderful class and Sirry is lovely teacher and host. I made 2 of the recipes within a week of returning back to the states. Sigi gave us a very interesting lesson of Icelandic ancestry. I highly recommend!

We had the absolute best time with the owners at Salt Eldhus. They were gracious with our three teenagers and taught us a traditional Icelandic meal that was absolutely delicious. This wasn't your average cooking class they took time to make us feel like we were in their home and had purchased Christmas Fry bread, gave us Siri's homemade beets, and had a Christmas drink for our kids. Siri made sure our meal worked (cooking behind the scenes) and Siggi entertained us. It was a loved experience by our entire family. If you are booking time in Reykjavik start your itinerary with this class!

This was a great introduction to cooking Icelandic food. As expected, fish was on the menu. We made a fennel salad topped with pan fried Arctic char and cod with a parsnip puree and barley. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon on my vacation.

Went to the Taiwanese Bao course. The hosts were really friendly, helpful and fun to work with! The course was well organised and we had a great time, learnt a lot and our stomachs were full!

We started out our trip by learning about traditional Icelandic cuisine but the chef (whose name I'm not capable of repeating, let alone spelling) also taught us about Icelandic culture, both Viking and modern. Both the cuisine and the conversation are delightful!
