"Located beneath the Morton Salt sign along the river, the Salt Shed is an outdoor-focused music venue that hosts shows (it’s set up for outdoor events and even food festivals when the polarity is right) and is visible from the new Goose Island brewpub’s patio; that proximity means brewpub visitors can often hear performances without entering the venue. Went here for a birthday meal, we booked a table in advance. We got there ten minutes early and were told To come back at the right time. Not A problem as there are plenty of bars close by. We came back at our allotted time and were promptly seated upstairs. It was quite cosy and the table For two was rather small and very close To the other tables. The staff seated Us and took our drink order and left Us to look at the menu. Another staff member bought us our drinks (a glass of wine and beer served in a can) and took our food order. We didn’t have to wait long for our drinks or food which was absolutely amazing perfectly cooked and so flavourful. We did have to flag down a passing staff member to order More drinks as the staff didn’t seem to visit upstairs that often. This was in my opinion a little On the pricey side for the size of the portions and the drinks being served to you in a can. Would recommend the spicy margarita shots very tasty.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. It is a small restaurant but has a nice character to it. Service was good and very attentive. There is quite a limit menu but our party of 6, ate between us each of the different roasts and everyone enjoy it.

Had a delicious meal on Saturday! We were a group of four. We were given a table by the open windows which was lovely due to the beautiful sunny evening!The staff were very welcoming and gave us their recommendations which was very helpful. The two guys in our group had the four meat platter between them and my friend and I had burgers. It was all delicious and the meats were cooked perfectly! The only negative was that there is not a lot to choose from drinks wise but apart from that, it was a fabulous evening out! I would highly recommend

Our choice was spot on with Salt Shed... the steaks were unbelievably delicious ...we shared this huge platter with three different kinds it was fantastic the french fries topped with cheese were golden and so crispy.... The staff working there were super nice and made us feel really welcome....the whole vibe in there was great ..... Unfortunately the recommend their famous burger after we finish our meal ...Now I cant stop thinking about their famous burger now I really just want to go back and try it next time

Had dinner and the steak was absolutely delicious paired with their chimichurri. I got my steak medium rare and it was perfectly cooked, the meat was succulent and juicy. We also got their chicken wings and they were cooked perfectly. Mac & cheese was nicely seasoned and again, delicious. Highly recommend this place!

The best roast I have EVER had. The lamb melted in my mouth and the veggies were absolutely gorgeous! To top it off, our server Reece was so so incredibly kind, attentive and made us feel so welcome and looked after. He gave us the best recommendations on what food to get and drink pairing (the Guvnor red wine was a particular highlight). Thank you Reece for making our time in Brighton so memorable! We will definitely be back ❤️

We came to Salt Shed to celebrate our 10yr anniversary as we just love meat!! We ordered meat night Mondays which came with a 4 meat platter which was absolutely beautiful. Our seating wasn't so private as we was seated the first table by the front door which meant lots of people walking pass. But we highly recommend this place and will definitely be back for more!

came in as a first time dinner today was shown to a table sat down on an empty restaurant with only one other table sat to he told i had to go move elsewhere for some reason i still dont understand, after i sat down another table came in and took the first table i was given ( still i dont know why i got move to another table ) , when ordering i asked for some wings for a starter and a kebab with chips as a main course ( quite a lot of food for one person i know ) . All food came at the same time as apparently they don't do starters here so by the time i got to the kebab it was not hot anymore , (Althought its fair to say that the food tasted really good ). The worst thing in my opinion is the service ( litterally all tables were offered a choice of sitting on arrival apart from me ) and its almost impossible to get anyones attention as servers are with their backs to the floor constantly on their phones as you will be able to see on my photos. I have over 25 years of experience in hospitality and 20 years plus experience i'm managing restaurants and i wouldn't let one of my guest feel like they don't belong in my business just because they are dining on their own . Anyway i should have asked to remove the service charge off but i didn’t only because i know how important it is for waiting staff to get their tips , but i think that people should start realising that taking service charges for granted is not the way to go . hope this feedback is helpful
