Excellent experience at Saltbox Kitchen. I had the burger and it was delicious. The negroni was fantastic. The food was very delicious. You have to order at the counter.

We catered you for our in-home holiday party last night Absolutely AMAZING from apps to meal! Meza platter was one surpise after another…i know olives are olives but not yours …those olives..wow! Pickles yellow beets…stop it and goat cheese crostini..over the moon yummy. Salmon and chix.—So flavorful and moist. We had on oven on “keep warm” for 3 hours too! And the sides… you take basic veggies— carrot, squash and brussel sprouts and turn them into something magical.. I could have made a meal out of them alone! Oh wait, forgot the beet salad with apple cider vinaigrette so fresh with unique blend of greens..very fun! We also want to give a shout out to the delivery team who kept us updated on status along the way! And went over everything upon arrival to ensure everything was perfect. Also against, our wishes, would not except a tip😏 SALT BOx, you made out party! .. We all could taste the love you put into your food 😋🥰 Thank you💕

The Saltbox was cute and the food was good, it took almost 20 minutes for a grilled cheese and turkey panini which seems a little excessive. The service was fine as well. We had a baby with us and they did not have any changing tables in their huge unisex restroom which is definitely hard for parents at a lunch spot. It was also incredibly cold inside; now there is beautiful light since a lot of the walls are windows- but it’s chilly most people were wearing their winter coats inside. It’s an okay spot for a moderately quick bite to eat for lunch, it’s a tad bit on the pricier side. Some of the other spots in the area I would choose over going to Saltbox again.

We catered Saltbox kitchen for our post-wedding brunch at Clark Farm Market. It was a true highlight of our wedding weekend! The food and service were absolutely incredible. The entire Saltbox team is lovely, thoughtful, and so kind. The communication was excellent before, during and after our event. We worked with Corey to design a custom brunch menu (breakfast sandwiches, quiche, yogurt bowls, frittata, fruit, pastries, coffee/tea) and Ben delivered our food and helped us set up at our venue. Everything was delicious and our guests are still raving about the food - some favorites include the Cheddar & Kale Frittata, Fruit & Yogurt Bowl and the Orange Cardamom Muffin! Our only regret is that we wish we ordered more! Thank you, Saltbox team, for catering our dream wedding brunch! Saltbox will forever be a special place for us.

Eating here was like being invited to eat inside of the pages of a culinary magazine. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was beautiful, thoughtfully curated and sunny and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is open, so you can see into the kitchen. You order at the counter and then collect your own food. You also get your own cutlery and clear your own table. My salmon cakes and soup were delicious. Special attention was paid to my food allergies. Would absolutely return when in the area. Small busy parking lot out back, meters on the street out front.

We came to Concord for the 250th Celebtration Weekend. We came to the Saltbox Kitchen for a cup of coffee - then we saw the display cases of food, the coffee selections, the choices of drinks, and Oh, My! We were blown away! Order #207 The food is A-MA-Zing! Everything we looked at we wanted to buy - we may have our Easter Dinner already prepared for us! Incredible! Even the US Park Service Rangers know where to go for lunch as they prepare for tens of thousands of visitors for Patriots Day tomorrow!! We will be yelling all our friends on the South Shore about this place! WOW!

Saltbox is a newish café in the town (At least seems that way to me! I guess they opened in 2015) with a variety of special breakfast and lunch items, along with delicious coffee beverages. Their menu items are drawn from a locally sourced farm, perhaps one reason for the high prices. But despite that, the lattes I've ordered were actually very reasonable and always delicious. Their flavors are vanilla, maple, honey, mocha, and pumpkin spice during fall. The pumpkin spice is probably my favorite, house made with various spices. I also had to try their famous grilled cheese during my latest visit, what some have called the best they've ever tasted. I can't disagree, being super cheesy and buttery for a delectable lunch treat. The inside is pleasant and usually full of people, and some wonderful paintings on the walls near the kitchen area. It's an upscale place, with some fickle hours I've found so keep that in mind, and certainly worth checking out!

Saltbox Kitchen is a restaurant that also serves lattes and pastries. I've only been in once and it was both classy and comforting being there. I got an iced mocha latte and it was quite good but didn't have the level of richness I expected. I will have to go again but I recommend giving it a try. The service was good and the barista took care making the latte. It is not a place you can run in when you're in a rush for a latte and get it immediately. There is care taken in the process but it's good.

We loved everything about this place. The food, the vibe, the people and those pretzels are so memorable. I could go for some right now!

The space is convenient and the interior is bright and clean, but I felt underwhelmed with the food. Staff were helpful and talked us through choices for flights and drinks.

Went here today as my significant other insisted. Last time I was here was over a year ago. Everything is a grease bomb at this place. Today I ordered the one thing that I thought would not be a grease bomb, a turkey sandwich, and it literally had half a cup of mayonnaise on it. Also the service was slow, 40 minutes from order at the counter until we got our food. It will be another year or two before I'll be back.

Went here for a lunch date with a friend for the first time and really enjoyed it. A lot of salad, soup and sandwich options with plenty of baked goods and meals to go at the counter. Kind of like an upscale Panera. It was pretty busy when we went so we did have to wait a little for a place to sit down, but it wasn't unreasonable. Only complaint was that I got the soup of the day with bread and the bread was pretty inedible since it was charred so much. But overall the food was great and the baked goods we took home, delicious.

Very cute cafe in Concord with good food. Only downfall is that it is overpriced. Needless to say, I would still come again.

The best grilled cheese of my life. And I don't say that lightly. This farm-to-table gem in Concord has healthy to greasy treats that's are locally sourced, if not straight from their own backyard and it shows. Everything is fresh and fast-casual in this quaint little town square. They have a lot of local and repeat customers for good reason. I'd recommend from vegans to meat eaters.

I felt it was very expensive for the frou-frou menu sad uncomfortable seats, but I'm in my 60's and the clientele seemed to be in their 20s and 30s having a grand time. I am sure it was just a generational thing!

Got a $14 BLT, the English muffin was smaller than a normal one and the bacon was BURNED! And they want a 20% tip for self serve, though they brought it to the table. you bus it yourself and get your own drin, utensils, napkins. so lunch came to $19, I left $1 tip. They were on the cusp of rude, maybe because of this. have been here 5 times, never a great experience. Better options around. never returning.

It's ok, not amazing. Service was pleasant, interactive, and helpful. The place looks cool. The food is meh. This place place hits all the boxes for Concord trendy: walkable, cafe, shiny stuff, chalkboard, wood, artsy stoneware, craft beer. It is beautiful to behold.....all of it. But the food itself is meh. You can tell they thought about ingredients. And you can tell they put a little thought into presentation. But the execution, the methods of preparation, are lackluster. It is like having good ingredients thrown at a new cook. BUT, that MA IPA was a thing of beauty. Well done. I wouldn't recommend as a place to blow away your friends with the food. But, bring your superficial friends for the shiny visuals and good conversation. Your mouth won't be full enough for long enough to impede a good discussion. It's like a lot of Concord eateries: cute and shiny in just the right ways, but vapid on the inside. Spent around $20 for a breakfast sandwich and the beer. Had the sandwich been better, it would have been a deal.

A True Story I was feeling a bit melancholy and out of sorts when I agreed to explore our new stomping grounds in West Concord with my wife. We weren't welcome in our own home while it was being shown to possible buyers, thus a trip to see the area around our soon-to-be home was in order. It was a pointless venture in my eyes as we had everything we could want or need in our old neighborhood. So when my wife stopped by the tracks in West Concord, told me to stay in the car with the dog and called me Grumpy, I was content to do just that. She had gone in the door to someplace called Saltbox Kitchen and upon her return to the car, she suggested I put the dog in back, because I wasn't going to want to share my breakfast with him. With that, my ears perked up... slightly. I took the bounty from my wife, so she could get back in the car. An iced coffee for me and a bag with two carefully wrapped objects. My wife says they're both the same and, with a noted bit of pride and certainty, claimed to know what I like. I grumbled a little in a protested retort. Upon opening up the thick paper both retaining and protecting the booty enclosed, I got the first whiffs of the savory aromas intermingling under my nose. The smells were irresistible and I bit into my Farm Egg Sandwich. As if some inaudible signal had passed between us, my wife and I exhaled a long combination of yummy sounds and chewing, as we both experienced our first bites simultaneously. Looking at each other, we giggled at the realization of unspoken agreement that this was a great find and it being only a quarter of a mile from our new home-to-be. The Farm Egg Sandwich is a combination of a frittata with greens, cheddar cheese, bacon, and a tomato jam all combined on a substantial English muffin. I'm not sure if it's the tang of the tomato jam, the savoriness of the frittata, the sweet, crunchy, satisfying goodness of the thick-cut bacon or the perfect combination of it all, but the morning haze began to burn off and blue skies and sun shone through. As I reached for my iced coffee, my hand was rebuffed by my wife's as she bypassed the coffee she'd brought from home for the third time, took another long pull from the straw and exclaimed, "Mmm! This is really good coffee." To which, I replied, maybe predictably so, "I wouldn't know." In response, I got the look so many wives give their husbands complete with eye roll as she relinquished the coffee. I took a swig of the elixir and couldn't deny its delectability and unlike the coffee flavor at the chain shops. To my disappointment, I came to the end of my sandwich, a bite that was as delicious as the first. In hopes of having missed a morsel, I checked the bag the sandwiches came in to no avail. My wife looked at me side-eyed, reached around to her side opposite from me and said, "Oh by the way, here's their menu." Looking it over, I saw a full day menu of items that all sounded delicious. They're a farm-to-table establishment with a farm in Concord, which sounds really ambitious. As I perused the menu and mulled over its possibilities, my wife casually threw in, "Did I mention that they make their own beer?" Oh! Well played, Dear. Holding your cards close to your vest and playing them at the perfect moment. As I put my sunglasses on for the sudden brightness, I thought this could be the start of a beautiful day. "Onward towards more adventures in this new land," I exclaimed as the caffeine kicked in and had its desired effect on my disposition. My wife did the eye roll thingy again and drove on. Saltbox Kitchen - we shall meet again!

Disappointed I asked for a well done burger and that's not what I got. I got this as takeout thinking if I would give this place another shot they may do better but I was wrong. The fries were good but won't be back for the food.

Amazing food! Biked 16 miles to get here with some friends, two of them were vegan, and the staff went out of their way to make sure that the platter they ordered could be modified to be fully vegan. Amazing vibes here and all locally sourced!

Excellent food and very nice and chill atmosphere along with super nice staff. Even coming from San Francisco, we thought the food very impressive!

Omg they make their own ketchup and it is the best I've ever had. So long Heinz 57, hello Saltbox Kitchen ketchup Oh wait, they don't sell it. I'm ready to open my wallet and drop cash to buy it. Please start selling it. And their honey mustard is the bomb, too. They could sell this mustard ketchup combo and make a killing on both. By the way the hamburger and fries were awesome. The IPA was yummy too. Great atmosphere. Wonderful experience.

I just spent $25 and received: 5 small shrimp 5 bites of flat bread 5 small bites of raw vegetables Never eating there again. The other rave reviews are fake or written by anorexic diners. Someone here thinks they are James Beard. That's the only explanation for the empty cafe.

Outstanding food!! Delivered in an innovative (try the egg sandwich with bacon for a surprise!), flavorful (try the short rib, wild mushroom rigatoni for unbeatable taste) and fresh way (try crunchy wild rice and bulgar wheat salad). It took a bit longer for the food to come out for us all, but it looks like we were more of an exception than the norm for this place as others around us received their food much quicker. I have no heart to take off any stars for this hiccup in food timing because the place delivers amazingly flavorful food for us food lovers. Compliments to the chefs. We'll be back!!

This is my favorite place in Concord! I have been going there for years and am never disappointed. On this trip both our salads were filled with vegetables directly from their farm down the street. The restaurant is beautiful filled with natural light and fresh pick flowers from the farm. All the employees are kind and you can peek right into the kitchen and watch the chefs at work! I am always happy and satisfied leaving Saltbox Kitchen.

I wanted to eat here for nearly a year, and when I finally did, I was so disappointed. The food was just not what I thought it would be - I was prepared to be amazed, but I was nothing of the sort. We shared fries and crispy chicken sandwiches and like someone else stated, the sandwiches were just... greasy. No real flavor, just grease. Really disappointed in this one.

Stopped in here for a quick mid-morning snack the other day. Smoked salmon toast was on point! Cool environment, and I personally had great service. Waitress was willing to help me out with a problem I had. Will definitely be wanting to come back to try more things for their menu. Love the farm to table notion, which I have not experienced too much in the Boston area.

So, the first time I came here, I was served a dirty salad. My lunch companion had something different, we had a time limit, and the restaurant was busy. By the time I had the chance to alert our server to the problem, my friend was finished and I had eaten all the clean bits. Our server noted that only the red lettuce was dirty (she could see the soil on the leaves) and offered to bring me a replacement. I said we didn't have time. No amendments were made to the bill. Bad call. Lose the meal or lose the customer. Customer lost. Tonight my adult son asked to go and check it out, so with my warnings, we went. He is vegetarian, and ordered a $17 sweet potato with sauce and garnishes. It was served cold. When I alerted the server, she took it away, even though my son was starving. We watched the consternation in the kitchen. The chef reactive. From our perspective, How is a potato main dish not supposed to be hot? After waiting 25 minutes for a replacement, which was hot, we received a full priced bill. When is ordering and waiting for the same meal twice worth full price? Lose the meal or lose the customer. Times two. You can hope, but disappointment looms.

We got 2 adult plates and a child plate and spent over $60. One of the adult plates was so disgusting it was completely inedible. This plate, The fried chicken sandwich, tasted like burnt oil smothered in cracked pepper. It was dark meat, which was extremely fatty and slimy, and tasted so awful none of us could eat it. The other adult plate was a Mediterranean type sandwich which was decent but not worth the price. Nashoba has similar quality sandwiches for half the price. The kids plate was any generic chicken strips and fries, but double the price you'd see anywhere else. Over all I would never go back even if the meal was free. Hopefully it's just a covid blip and quality will get better!

Food & beer were great, but service was subpar. Gentleman working the register gave wrong specials for the day - Udon Soup (ahead by one day - didn't know how to pronounce quite a number of items in the special) and he made no effort to correct the mistake (perhaps unaware?). Another employee jumped in and tried to "salvage" the situation for us after receiving bowls of cream of mushroom soup and pumpkin bisque. While we still enjoyed our meal, it was not what we ordered nor wanted.

I'm an avid carnivore. I love meat. I love the snap of it as you tear into it with your teeth and the rush of liquefied fat as you macerate it into oblivion. I came into Saltbox and saw a gyro and was immediately sold. I threw in a beer for good measure. And then, as I awaited my meat feast, sipping a really tasty New England Style IPA, I finished reading the description of the gyro. Veggies. Sauce. Pita. No meat. Catastrophe. No meat? It was a mad dash to cancel my order. Beer left unattended. Chance of having my seat taken and possessions stolen. But no meat? As the protest attempted to leave my mouth... I was handed my order. "Here's your gyro", the server politely said. "Enjoy!" I moved back to my seat, sipped that bright, delicious IPA again, then decided to just roll with it. So, it had no meat. But the color of the food on the plate made up for it, as did the smell from the falafel. It was toasty and nutty smelling without being oily and laden with grease. And holy crap was it good. I ate the entire large portion, soaking up every bit of the mint and feta and tzatziki with their fresh, homemade bread. I gulped down the rest of my beer and left very happy. I guess I'll get the reuben next time. Really quaint location and atmosphere. Very cool people working here, and just a nice environment to hang out, eat some good food, and enjoy a drink or two.

Only open for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner, this locally sourcing, farm to table-ing, fresh and delicious-ing restaurant is one of my new favorite places to eat. Just order at the register and sit, and prepare your tastebuds for some intense flavors. Saltbox is absolutely one of the tastiest places in concord. Sometimes I come in for breakfast and enjoy delicious locally-sourced coffee along with an incredible breakfast sandwich on a 'Stone and Skillet' English muffin, sometimes my wife and I rush here after work to have an early supper and sit at the bar and watch talented chefs create our meal in a beautiful brand-new kitchen, sometimes I purchase prepared food-to-go out of the fridge case, bring it home, reheat it, and top a home made salad with skirt steak or Alaskan salmon. They also plan to brew their own beer in the near future...

Saltbox is one of my favorite places to go around here! It has a casual atmosphere, decent seating (can get busy at dinner), and great food. Price ranges around $10+ for salad, sandwiches, and soup. They also offer cooking classes, CSA farm shares, and other smaller treats inside (teas, local honey, etc).

Ben and the rest of the Saltbox team catered a sit down dinner for forty people at our house this past Saturday. The food was absolutely spectacular and far exceeded everyone's expectations. The lamb was so tender it melted in your mouth, and there were many other very clever touches like turnip in the Potato Dauphinoise that brought delightful Flavors to old favorites. Our guests were delighted and amazed. Thank you Ben, Patrick and the rest of the team. Your staff were wonderful!

A total surprise find .. driving by and stopped for lunch. Wow! The best BLT - ever. The best veggie sandwich - ever. I'll be making the trek back over bad over again.

Bright room. Great food. Love the unique silverware. Friendly staff. Fantastic beer. I try and do lunch here every few weeks. Picked up a growler recently. Nice place for business coffees or just working on your laptop quietly.

Came in for an espresso, and they are no longer serving it until they get a new machine. You know what I'd do if I were running a cafe? Buy two copies of the machine that my business depends on. At peak times you could serve more, and when one breaks you could still provide what you advertise.

Meandering off a totally deadstopped Rt 90 and detouring up to rt 2. Got hungry and passed this place at 6pm. Beautiful wide windows and simple but elegant decor. And the flowers. Zinnias! Service fantastic. Simple but creative menu rewarded our spontaneity. Right off rt 2 so very easy to find. Fresh local melon enhanced with ricotta and mozzarella cheese on grilled bread. Followed by Ann incredible mushroom and scallion tart. Pastry as flaky as an original Danish pastry. The small microgreens salad had beautiful edible flowers in red, orange and purple. Worthy of a deliberate stop. We'll be back.

My sons recommended burgers, we ordered 3 to go all medium rare. They were all well done. Very disappointed as they're not cheap. Too bad I live close by, however if a burger is that difficult. Don't think I'll be running back.

Loved this place, has great vegan options. I had the "choose three salads/vegetables" and it was a huge amount of fresh, delicious food. Plus the IPA beer brewed there was fantastic. Could not have been better, highly recommended.

Only ate here once, for breakfast when it first opened. Not so great. Had a casual but sloppy vibe. Thought I'd try it again but only open Tuesday to Sunday for 9 hours (website had less days and less daily hours). Not a serious business. May be someone's vanity project. Best they sell farm produce directly to restaurants that try harder.

Go here for DINNER! I had only been for lunch which I always like, but dinner was a great experience. We went on a Thursday night and sat at the bar. I strongly suggest sitting at the bar to one serve everything going on in the open kitchen. The food is farm to table so there are fresh herbs growing, Fresh veggies being chopped and you can see the preparation of meals and plating. All the chefs treated their food like a piece of art. The meals were creative and presented beautifully. As lovely as everything was, there was nothing pretentious about the scene. Simply chefs taking care in everything they were doing. I loved the burrata appetizer and my friend didn't stop raving about the mussels (I thought the broth was delicious!) The chef conversed with us periodically and brought over things for us to taste. I had the sunflower pesto which I absolutely loved and I'm a big pesto critic! My friend had a fish dish with quinoa which he raves about. For some reason, the word has not spread how good dinner at Saltbox is. What a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go again.

The biggest ripoff ever! Just got a salad here. Paid $13. for it, and it could literally fit in my hand. It barely qualifies as an appetizer salad.. Very disappointed, and will not be going back.

I can't believe this place is averaging 3.5 stars on yelp. I feel like I can no longer rely on Yelp to accurately reflect the calibre of the restaurants we choose. Yes, prices here are high, but that is because the quality of the food is excellent. Personal favorites are their egg sandwiches and frittatas for breakfast, double chocolate cookies and scones for baked goods, and the burrata, salads, and soups are always soooo good for lunch. The only thing I'll admit is that the prepared items in the case can be a little hit or miss. My husband and I just had a light dinner here last night paired with their beer (brewed on site), and that was delicious as well. I've also done two of the cooking classes at their farm and have really enjoyed those - and it seems like a good value considering you get a multi-course dinner at the end of the class. One request - please start making some mixed berry scones!!

Found this place by chance and absolutely loved it! Farm fresh food and friendly service! I don't remember the last time I was blown away by a salad! I got the burger and my boyfriend got the BLT that came with a side salad and the tomatoes were the best we've ever had. One of the guys behind the counter even gave us extra tomatoes for snacking! The burger was great, not too heavy and I really liked the pickles. Fries were thick cut and we liked those too. I got an Aperol spritz and my boyfriend got the IPA, which we both enjoyed. If you're in Concord make sure to stop by!

Delicious, fresh, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked food, all made to order, and quickly! We had burrata, parsnip soup, striped bass, scallops, and pesto with angel hair, and it was all amazing. The beer flight was generous and interesting. Way to go! We'll be back.

Please note, my rating is strictly for breakfast. We went one Saturday morning at 7:30 and the restaurant was nice and quiet. My 4 year old ordered a blueberry muffin then I asked for the breakfast menu. The response I received was, "we only have what's out"... which was two types of muffins, a scone, and maybe one other item. We ended up with two muffins and a coffee (the coffee selection has an equally broad selection of light or dark roast coffee, with or without milk and sugar). We sat at the bar overlooking the road, finished our muffins, then went to Nashoba Brook Bakery for a proper breakfast. The food at Saltbox was fine (3.5 stars) but the menu was too small. Best breakfast in Concord (east or west): Trail's End. Best breakfast in W. Concord: Nashoba Brook Best light breakfast (aka bakery) in Concord: Haute Coffee I'd try Saltbox again for other meals but never again for breakfast unless they substantially expand their menu.

Now that's a mixed bag. I like the atmosphere. The friendly people. Strong espresso. Excellent beer. The sword fish special on Friday was okay, but no reason to rush back. Somehow, their service process was totally broken. It took a few reminders to get beers and some of the dishes we had ordered and paid for. - May be just a bad day in a lovely place.
