The food was top tier we got the prime time special compliments to the chef your food is amazing! Overall my best experience was the staff and the service once again thank you Carol and Will the birthday was amazing!

Google
Food was delicious, and service was excellent. The best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. Carol was our waiter and was extremely pleasant and helpful. The thick-cut bacon was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, would recommend 10/10 times. Came here on my birthday and received a complimentary cake and cotton candy as well. Overall, fantastic experience.

Google
went here for my brothers birthday! and it was so good. The food was to die for and the drinks kept coming! Loved the server Carol, he was a sweetheart. So helpful and everyone knew the menu so well, provided good suggestions. Webster, the manager was very kind and made good conversations. It was an experience I would tell all my coworkers and friends about.

Had my 31st birthday dinner here last night, our server Carol made the night fun and the chef catered to my allergies. My NY Strip was cooked perfectly and the crab cake was phenomenal. Many compliments to the chef and staff. Loved it!

Google
A fantastic steakhouse! I just love how the restaurant is appointed--very fun with a lot of charm. We started with the thick bacon appetizer. Just get it. Nothing else need be said. The service provided by Nicole A. was top notch - thank you for a great evening!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here and it was absolutely incredible. Everything was elegant and upscale from the details of the decor to the staff. Our server Carol was attentive and hospitable which made our experience perfect. The food was delicious and presented so beautifully. The owner came over to greet us and wish my husband a happy birthday. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale and intimate place to enjoy delicious food with good company.

Google
The salt aged aspect of it sounds cool but it wasn't great. Very fatty. The salad had cold tomatoes= not fresh. The atmosphere and service was pristine. Cute space but didn't knock my socks off. The thick cut bacon was good. Sweeter side and very thick. Drinks were just ok. Nothing fancy.

Google
We hosted our rehearsal dinner here last night and couldn’t be happier. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the attention to detail truly exceptional. Every guest left raving about the experience. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable!

Yelp
My husband and I recently tried Saltbrick Prime for dinner. We were immediately greeted by both the manager and host. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is interesting, as there is a life size cow in the restaurant. Our server, William, came over immediately to introduce himself and take our drink order. He was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. As far as the menu and food, they have a pre-fix menu with several options to select from or you can order off the regular menu. My husband got a steak and I got the chicken from the menu. We both enjoyed our food and were surprised when they brought us a giant cotton candy at the end of our meal. It was an interesting, but nice finishing touch to the meal. Saltbrick was a nice date night experience. Next time we will try their other location next door, Lockworks Tavern.

Yelp
They are awesome. Drinks. Food. The pop overs. And the service. Ask for matt Great atmosphere and we sat at the bar tonight but same vibe and care as when we sat at a table months ago.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday evening so it was pretty quiet but nice. The space is nicely decorated think cross between rustic-(cowhide print on booths) to upscale ( Crystal chandelier). Service was great, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We had a birthday and they did come out with a slice of cake and candle. Will our server was awesome. We ordered French onion soup, wedge salad, Caesar salad, clam chowder. All were very good. To start they bring out warm popovers and butter. The wine selection is pretty good offering a nice variety to choose from. For entrees we had filets and broccoli raab the steaks were very good and very tender the broccoli raab the opposite and unable to cut it. One person ordered an aged ribeye which I tasted it was very good and came with a small bunch of salad greens. We ordered extra sides. Mac n cheese (no) had an off putting flavor Brussels sprouts had chestnuts and one type of yogurt sauce (no) The potatoes were good The desserts were all very good. Choc cake, cheesecake, and a pumpkin pot de crem I think a bit of tweaking on the sides is needed but all in all was a nice dinner.

Yelp
Salt Brick Prime Steakhouse, you've truly outdone yourselves. From the moment you walk through the meat-locker-style entrance (yes, really), you're greeted with warmth, class, and a hint of drama--in the best way. The hostess greets you like royalty, and the sleek bar and stylish decor set the tone for what's to come. To start? Warm popovers that melt in your mouth as you browse a menu full of indulgent options. First bite: Thick-cut bacon glazed with Chinese five spice, laid on crispy rice, topped with green onions. Bold. Savory. Addictive. Main event: Porterhouse for Two. Perfectly cooked. Tender enough to cut with a glance. Served alongside garlicky mashed potatoes with chives, balsamic-glazed asparagus, and a dreamy medley of mushrooms & onions. Every side elevated the dish. And just when you think it can't get any better--you're gifted a cloud of complimentary blue raspberry cotton candy to end the night on a sweet, playful note. If you're in Branford, Connecticut and looking for an unforgettable dining experience (yes, there's a prix fixe menu too!) -- Salt Brick Prime is a must. #SteakhouseGoals #SaltBrickPrime #FoodieFinds #PorterhousePerfection #CTEats #DinnerVibes #InstagramEats #WhiteAesthetic

Yelp
We tried Saltbrick Prime last night and it did not disappoint, it's a beautiful restaurant. We were running a little late because of the rain, but I was able to call and push our reservation back 20 minutes with no problem--so thankful for that! Now, let's get into the food. We both went with the PrimeTime 3-course deal and honestly, it was the best decision. Everything was delicious. I had the chowder, the cod with vegetables, and finished with the crème brûlée cheesecake. My husband went with the Caesar salad, prime rib, and chocolate cake. Needless to say, we left stuffed and happy. The drinks were on point, the service was amazing, and the whole experience was a 10/10. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This is a well-thought out restaurant with a beautiful environment, fantastic service, and delicious food. We tried the prixe fixe menu and enjoyed a satisfying filet mignon, an outstanding cheesy French onion soup, grilled asparagus and a fun wedge salad. Sophia was an entertaining mixologist who served the perfect watermelon martini on a hot summer day. I'm really looking forward to going back. This is my new favorite restaurant which is on par with Café Routier in Westbrook or Liv's Oyster Bar in Old Saybrook. A real gem.

Yelp
LOVE the decor! I absolutely loved the color of the walls, the tree in the middle, and the furniture. Great job to whoever designed this restaurant :) The music was meh. I felt that the type and price of food being served needs to have an ambiance that matches. A sports game was playing loudly at the bar & what sounded like the 2010s Playlist was playing (which I love, just didn't match the ambiance). The servers were friendly, but to be honest, again, I expected a little more attention to detail & extra friendliness. When I think of other high end steakhouses I have been to, the waitstaff is what blows me away and makes me come back again. The food is phenomenal. The prime rib was hands down the best I have ever tasted. The meat MELTED in my mouth. The ribeye had such a great flavor and feel probably due to the 30 day dry-aged process. The shrimp cocktail was super yummy; some complained about the price to quantity ratio, but the shrimp tasted fresh. The oysters were tender and not as salty as one would think- bravo! The dessert was mediocre. The whoopie pie was very dense; the dessert actually tasted like I was just eating a PBJ sandwich. The strawberry sorbet was okay too! Again, high end steakhouses tend to have some sort of specialty on their dessert menu as well, like a soufflé or a crème brûlée- I'd like to see this develop in the future! Overall, this steakhouse is 3 months old with so much potential. Great job with the steaks, decor, and apps- I will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had been on a break from eating out since Christmas and owing to family commitments on Valentines Day, we decided to celebrate a week early and get out for a nice, upscale dinner. We had been to Lockworks Tavern and enjoyed it. We decided to try the other side,Salt Brick Prime. Upon arriving, we were a bit confused until we realized that the front door is a walk in freezer door. Pretty cool. Once inside you can see the similarly to the Tavern with the tall ceiling and exposed beams but that is where it ends. The dining room is very upscale looking with round booths in the center around a birch tree and other booths and tables around the perimeters. The bar is gorgeous with a back lite salt brick wall and cool pendent lights. We settled into our booth and were professionally greeted by our waiter. The menu was straightforward and the wine list generous. We decided on a couple cocktails however. Our cocktails arrived and we put in our orders. The cocktails were well crafted and tasty but not weak. We enjoyed the atmosphere and each other's company while sipping our drinks. Our appetizers arrived swiftly, a pair of shrimp cocktails. 4 good sized and fresh shrimp nestled on a bed of chipped ice with cocktail sauce and lemon. A side of extra horseradish would have made it perfect but still an excellent start. Our meals arrived in a timely manner. I had chosen the 40 dat aged T-bone and my wife chose an 8oz filet. We both ordered mid rare. The sides we chose were baked potatoes each and creamed spinach and greens. Our steaks were just a shade on the blue side but extremely flavorful. A nice crust on each and generously dusted with a good spice mix. The potatoes were good sized and came with whipped butter and sour cream. The spinach was excellent. We decided against dessert. Our meals were very filling. We did note that other tables had popovers delivered and we didn't but we didn't miss them. Service was on point without feeling overbearing. I believe we will return in the near future.

Yelp
Anyone that reads my reviews will know I believe any restaurant in Connecticut is lackluster with very few exceptions to 3 that I like. So going into this restaurant I had high expectations because the owner is from Daniel and was instrumental in one of the Daniel Michelin Stars, but I was very skeptical. Upon arrival there was no host to great us, and once there was we found out our table wasn't ready so oh boy here we go. We waited for our table at the bar and almost immediately we were greeted by Webster who in his first sentence said "sorry the tables not ready, your drinks are on the house" I was pretty impressed as we didnt make a comment to anyone about the table not being ready and this was a courtesy I have never seen extended in Connecticut while it is standard practice in almost any other state. The dining area is pretty cool, salt looking bricks line some walls, others with cowhide, theres a tree in the middle and a entire cow on a ledge looking down on you. The only thing I would change is the lighting seems brighter than you would expect. Overall it has a nice air and was very welcoming. I especially liked the chandeliers and raw wood beams. They promote their patented aging process that adds to the name of the restaurant but really its an offshoot of David Burks patent for aging steaks and while cool is just copy cat. The waitress brought rolls to the table that were very hard and flavorless. I have had a similar roll at Daniel and at a steakhouse in Washington DC that were delicious but these were not good. I ordered 6 oysters that came in the standard presentation. They were good but just average. I ordered the 55 day aged ribeye and my wife had the 30. Each had its own distinct flavor and was cooked perfectly. I would say it was a top 3 steak compared to Gallagher's. There weren't any sides that looked appealing so I asked if I could order a sliced tomato and the kitchen happily accommodated the request. Adding bonus points to the experience. My wife had the soup that she said tasted like a Daniel soup we had once, she also ordered the Brussels sprouts which were not that good. Who likes those things anyway, but with the expectation set by the about page on the website they should have been delicious. At the end of the meal everyone gets a blue raspberry cotton candy. It looks like it came from the county fair. Really cool idea, but its presentation takes the glamor the restaurant is trying to achieve down a couple notches. Our waitress was absentee from our table, plates were not cleared and stacked up most of the meal. The waitress must have been very new because she seemed clueless as to how to navigate waiting on a table. Dont want to be mean but this is not the job for her. Overall the meal was very good by Connecticut standards, probably wouldn't cut it with the competition in Manhatten. I was going to give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars but when I noticed today that my bill had two sides of Brussels Sprouts not one that bumped it down. Theres no room for errors on the bill. The restaurant is worthy of a return visit which is huge in Connecticut as other restaurants rarely get a second visit from me. If this place refined itself a little it would be amazing. I recommend you try it out.

Yelp
The steaks were pretty good. The clams casino were cold and bready. The creamed corn was tasteless. The popovers were cold. The service was good-natured but incompetent. The space is pretty although the many windows looking over the parking lot is not a plus.

Yelp
Two of us tried the "prime time" special which runs from 4-5pm- why they don't extend it until at least 6 is beyond me. The dining room was almost empty and employees were seated at the bar as of the service had not begun. We were given the regular menu with its steep prices and had to ask for the prix fixe early menu even though it was 4:30. It took a while for the server to locate it. Food: popovers were dry. Better use a lot of butter! I prefer them softer. Shrimp cocktail- 4 very large grilled? shrimp. Strange. Onion soup- very nice but you need a fork to pierce the flamed cheese top. Broth was excellent. Filet mignon- dry and unremarkable even though ordered medium rare. Dessert- cheesecake and chocolate cake- served cold and likely mediocre commercial cake offerings. Really surprising. Server was pleasant and food was served promptly. Dining room pleasant but felt a bit cavernous being so empty. Price for the bargain dinner with two glasses of wine and coffee and tip almost 2 big ones. We tried the early dinner to see if the food was good enough to justify returning for the full pricier menu. Unlikely we will return. If you can't serve a great prix fixe, I can't imagine that the regular menu will be worth the high prices, which are quite lofty for a restaurant in a shopping center in Branford.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place, because there are not many high-end steakhouses around. Service was ok, not great; they brought the entrees out before we had finished eating appetizers. Ambiance is really strange - super bright in the restaurant. All that would be fine, but the food was pretty average, especially for the price. Finally straw was that someone at the bar was messing around with the lights as we were trying to finish our dinner, so the lights kept going up and down like someone was playing with the sliders. Annoying. Server told us it was because we were the last ones in there and the night was over (it was about 8:45pm on a Friday).

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Ordered prime rib. It came with crushed pepper or spices with it and it just interfered with the taste of the prime rib. Thy should ask you if you want it like that. Also it's great that they are clean but I don't want to smell bleach or fabuloso as soon as you walk in. They provided some champagne since we were celebrating our anniversary and that was nice.

Yelp
We went on Christmas Eve . Party of 7 . 6pm . There were many tables empty . Appetizers started strong , loved the bacon app - pork belly bacon ? The $59 price fix was a great deal ! All of our food and drinks came - we finished everything, my New York strip was amazing! We had 16 empty glasses on our table - ( water glasses , wine glasses , espresso martini glasses , soda glasses , whiskey glasses ) and dirty plates and side plates and bread plates , and were excited to each get a dessert and coffee . It was 7 pm , but our waitress had disappeared . At 7:20 I got up and walked over to the manager who was chit chatting in the bar area (. I mean this bar is beautiful). And explained that we had been abandoned. He said he would take care of it . Ten more minutes later the waitress came over and gave us the bill . Right in the middle of our table brimming with dirty glasses and plates . I said " ummm. We would really like coffee and dessert ". And she took our dessert order , and brought the desserts. We had to move our dirty plates and dishes and glasses - I. Order to eat our dessert. We just wiped off our used forks and ate . The manager did take $50 off the bill and brought over one free cappuccino. I loved my damn stake , and I would like to go back and maybe eat at the bar ! I also had a baked potato for $12 that was " loaded " ! And it was very good ! I would go again and redo my post . It's hard to find the door of this place - it shares a building with another lovely bar / tavern . So we did have to take time finding the door . It is disguised at a refrigerator door I think .

Yelp
Returned last night for a work Christmas party, we were a group of 14. Service was lacking, our waiter should've had an additional waiter to assist. One half of the table would get drinks/appetizers ordered and he'd walk away- even though the other half wanted to place orders. I understand the bar area is small and he probably didn't want to overwhelm the bar/kitchen with a huge order at once but still.. a little communication? Bacon appetizers did not come out warm and smokey- as my first experience. We had to ask for bread and butter after appetizers were already served. Plates were cleared before other guests were even finished with their bread/apps. Upon ordering meals one of my co workers asked for a loaded baked potato and the waiter told her he couldn't do that because he already put the order in but he'd bring the toppings for her afterwards. He didn't. Experience was lackluster, i do feel that he was probably over whelmed but that could've been resolved with additional help. Not a great experience, like my first time here.

Yelp
I'm giving my experience 5 stars based on the second half of my experience but this review is a tale of two services. My wife and I arrived at SBP at 5:30 PM the other night and were promptly seated. The decorations were mostly tasteful (not a big fan of some of the cow print choices) and the ambiance was chill. It wasn't super busy but the weather was awful so we chalked it up to that. We were sat down promptly and waited a bit for someone to come around to fill our waters. A while after that our waiter appeared and asked us for our drink order. I wasn't sure on my end but my wife put in hers and he said he'd be right back to get mine. Instead, someone else brought out her drink order and I had to wait a while before he showed again and I put in my drink order. At this point he left immediately after getting our drink order without giving us the option to put in food orders, even appetizers. I thought he'd be back with my drink and take it then but someone else brought my drink out. So we waited.... and waited. Didn't even see him on the floor for about 10 minutes and then he came out, talked to some other tables and didn't come over to us. At this point, it had been 45 minutes from when we arrived and we had not placed food orders yet and I was getting a little antsy honestly. If the place was super busy, I would have understood but we were one of like 8 seated tables. So I saw another employee who was wearing a suit and raised my hand and he came over to check in on us. I unfortunately didn't pick up his name but he immediately jumped in to start to help us when he heard our situation. From that point on, everything was impeccable. The service became flawless and the food was incredible. I had the 55 dry aged ribeye which was excellent as well as the amazing creamed spinach. They were so apologetic and were very accomodating. Under normal circumstances, I probably would have dinged stars for the earlier service issue but the recovery from that was so marvelous that I find myself compelled to give them 5 stars. Hopefully it was just a fluke issue that they were able to sort out. So I guess the moral of the story is to not be afraid to speak up if you feel unattended at a restaurant. It's tough I know, no one wants to feel like they are demanding attention but lapses happen and it's always better to let a restaurant have an opportunity to show you their best than judge them harshly on a small mistake.

Yelp
Went for dinner early on Christmas Eve. The was NO ONE seated for dinner yet. We were told to sit wherever we wanted to. The time was 4:30 PM. Our waiter came over immediately and asked us what our water preference was. He also said he'd be right back with the prime time menus. While he went to get water, someone else came to the table to drop off popovers. They were hard and almost burnt. We received water and while we were ordering drinks, the waiter mentioned it was going to get busy, so he'd like to get us started. We placed our drink order and off he went. At 5:10 PM, we got two of the three drinks we ordered. Same martinis, one 2/3s filled and the other filled to the top. A few minutes later, the third drink came and at 5:20 PM, the last drink came. 50 minutes to get four drinks. I should mention during this time, someone came and took our bread plates even though they weren't empty. As he delivered the 4th drink, we asked if we could please order. He apologized again and said it was getting busy. We mentioned we never got the prime time menus and to my sadness, he said "I'll be right back. I'll go get them". I will say, the food itself was cooked well and very good. Everyone's steak was cooked as requested and the sides were delicious. Prices were very high, so definitely a once in a while experience. If you don't mind the spotty service, the food was very good.

Yelp
Well the drinks were great. But when it came to our dinner, it wasn't so great. My prime rib should've melted in my mouth instead was chewy. My wife had the scallops were very undercooked and did not have the proper seer. I may meet connoisseur have meat all over the country and was very disappointed.

Yelp
My fiancé took me to celebrate my birthday at Saltbrick. Like lockworks, loved the decor! We went at 4pm on a Sunday because my significant other only eats once a day. We noticed they had a prime time special prix fixe and included a lot of great stuff so went with that. I opted for a glass of wine and was happy they didn't pour like they do on the lockworks side. It was a good standard pour. Kevin our server brought over some popovers, but they were so cold. Bummer. Wished they were warm. I started with the wedge salad and my significant had the shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were large and great, but let me tell you the wedge salad was incredible. Probably the best I've ever had! We both opted for the filet and they were cooked perfectly. Great seasoning too. We rounded out our meal with chocolate cake. Kevin said they normally provided cotton candy but their machine was broken. We think that was a little sus as we've seen reviews where they give cotton candy to some tables but not others. Anyways. Food was great and Kevin our server was too. We will come back and try some other things next time.

Yelp
New addition to Branford, and a Welcome one at that! It just opened Friday, but I've been to the Tavern twice; can't wait to try the restaurant! The food is very good, and different- a nice change of pace. Tried the corn ribs, highly recommended by the busser, and they were fantastic! Also had the chowder, mishmish, chicpee fries and PB&J whoopie pie- all excellent. The drinks are good pours and reasonably priced. What is most impressive about this place, however, is the staff. They struck gold with each and every employee- personable, knowledgeable and attentive, they made the entire experience an exceptional one. After only one visit, the bartender remembered my drink at next visit, and this is on opening weekend when they must meet tons of patrons, It's for this reason I can see this place not just succeeding, but exceeding expectations and getting a regular following. Congrats Saltbrick/Clockworks, and welcome to Branford!

Yelp
Came here on a Monday evening for an Anniversary dinner. The Prixe Fix offered good simple choices. The salad was large and tasty. My wife had the 8 oz. Filet and I had the Prime Rib. Both were excellant. We took a large amount home including the dessert. Service was excellant, attentive and friendly. My only critique would be, and this may sound funny, if the waiters and support staff are "uniformed" the manager should wear a blazer....not look so casual.

Philip M.

Yelp
The few times my son and I have visited Saltbrick Prime, we sat at the bar. Service has always been excellent. With a couple of exceptions, we generally have ordered the porterhouse for two with a couple sides (e.g., mashed potatoes, creamed spinach or asparagus, etc.). The food has always been cooked to perfection and presentation perfect. They are rather pricey but so are any of the other quality steakhouses in CT.

Tammy A.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place just for the comfortable chairs and quaint set up. I had high hopes when we were served popovers (haven't had forever) with salted whipped butter. Popovers were tepid and dough tasted faintly burnt. Also, too much salt in the butter, but we could not use it anyway since the bread wasn't warm. I started with wedge salad, and I asked for no everything but the bagel seasoning. Glad I did because that with the blue cheese would again have been just too much salt. I also ordered the short rib boa buns. The 2 boa buns had immense flavor. Wish there were either more meat or another bun because it was rather pricey for the quantity provided. My spouse had the primetime. The French onion soup had a rich beef broth but again a little heavy handed with the salt. Good thing neither of us had to be concerned with being thrown into chf. The filet, however, was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The asparagus were the perfect crispness and freshness. The best part of the meal was the Dubai chocolate pot de crème. We didn't have time to take a picture because we tore into it. The presentation was lovely. If I went back, it would be solely to order this decadent masterpiece. Waiter was new, but very attentive and staff personable. Might go back just to try the sports bar next door.

Yelp
Branfords newest steak house was a hit! If you're looking for a fancy dinner spot & not afraid to drop some $$ this is it. Portions were a little small, but everything was excellent. Steaks were cooked perfect. I went with a party of 4, we all got steak and shared 3 sides. We left content and not overly full. Great wine selection. It's beautiful inside as well. Service was fine - not too much to say there. Needed a reservation to go at the time to accommodate the 4 of us, which I liked! Also the tavern side of it is really pretty inside - haven't tried the food yet. That's my next spot to check out.

Stephen F.

Yelp
Just received a menu from saltbrick prime I cannot believe the prices of their food!! That will be another empty building in no time.

Yelp
Great new spot in Branford! I came here with a larger party on a Saturday night with a reservation. The popovers they give you to start are a nice surprise. We liked the wedge salad and French onion soup starters as well. I ordered the Korean BBQ salmon, which was well-balanced, and the broccolini was fresh and perfectly tender. I had the fig rosemary sour, which was very light, refreshing, and delicious. The ambiance is really nice, I loved the saltbrick wall and I appreciated that the music wasn't too loud so we could enjoy our conversation and hearing each other.

Yelp
What a delightful treat and wonderful food cooked to perfection. Kevin was our waiter and provided outstanding service. Beautifully decorated. High end steak restaurant.

Yelp
My friend Stuart Blum raved about this restaurant, the ambiance, the extra service and the delicious food. I brought my out of town guests in for dinner and all were pleased. We all took home enough for another meal. I will be returning often!

Yelp
Our experience was a great disappointment. The drinks, after a long wait, were very good. Yet that tells a major problem, service was substandard. Worse was the quality of the 55 day dry aged ribeye. The quality of the meat was very substandard. Not at all tender and correctly grilled. Ordered medium rare and came out medium. I have had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. Certainly this was not a prime cut. Salad was limp from being overdressed. Other diners with me had similar problems with their steaks. With this as our experience, we cannot go back or recommend it. Frankly, I doubt it will be still open into the fall.

Yelp
Never had a bad dinner. Last night was no exception. Wonderful dinner, and perfect waitress. We got our favorite seat in the corner, treated like VIP.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood. Upscale steakhouse with a pricey menu, but the food was delicious. The staff is very attentive nice ambience with a cow. There's also a tavern open late night next-door with good bar food, they share the same kitchen.

Yelp
If you like cold steak, canned sardines on a seafood tower and rancid clams, this is the place for you. Being a local Branford resident we were really looking forward to this place opening. We came here with a party of six for a birthday. We ordered a seafood tower when the seafood tower arrived it had canned sardines on the top, and the waiter spilled them on one of the women in our party. The clams in the seafood tower were rancid and smelled like low tide we had to have the waiter remove it from the table It was making people nauseous at the table we all ordered fillets and when they were delivered, they were cold to the touch, not rested, but cold when I spoke to the manager, he said that this was unacceptable and he would take care of it. They brought the steaks back They didn't even make us new steaks. They just warm them up on the grill, which caused all the temperatures inside to be overcooked The bill came. They took $50 off the Seafood tower. We paid and left. You couldn't pay me to step foot in this place again.

Yelp
The space was gorgeous and service was great. Cocktails and wine were both great. The food was sub par. I've had better steaks at the chain restaurants. The creamed spinach was cold. The potato was clearly reheated in the microwave. For the price I would expect much better.

Yelp
Some things were good, some not so good. We came in with high expectations, and unfortunately it did not meet them. The restaurant is very nice looking, and the hostess seated us a soon as we walked in. We had reservations, but we would have been seated without them. We all ordered a cocktail , my honey ordered a sweet Manhattan on the rocks. We have never had any fine restaurant ( or any restaurant) not know how to make one, they came back to us three times to ask how to make it... geez, just google it! When it finally came out 15 minutes later along with our other drinks it was not on the rocks and we reminded them. They did apologize, and did deliver it quickly on one large cube. They brought out popovers which we were very excited about, but they were not fresh or warm ... the beauty of a popover is the steam that comes out. The other big misstep was that one of our party ordered the ribeye medium rare and it came out well done and was obviously sent back, this was a $62 steak. The other thing that irked me was that on the receipt it said they comped us a steak, they did not because they charged us for another steak. We did not ask to be comped and did not need to be comped, but don't say you comped us and provided us with a discount when you didn't! Lamb chops were very good, cod was good, wedge salad with steak was good. The desserts were great. Sides and salad are extra as expected, and were just average. Our bill without tip came to almost $400.00 and with tip it came to 120.00 per person and at that kind of money you expect the best...it definitely was not.

Yelp
I've been in the restaurant biz for many years and I'm hard to please. Saltbrick went beyond my expectations and have recommended it to friends. I haven't seen a popover since Les Shaws restaurant in the '60's. Without going on the Saltbrick is the bomb.

Yelp
We celebrated Valentine's Day a day early to take advantage of their Prix Fixe menu. The price was $49 which was $10 lower than when we came 2 months ago. The food is excellent. I had the Korean BBQ Salmon with sautéed mushrooms and broccolini. Wife had a 8oz fillet mignon, This is a great restaurant. Service is efficient and the waitstaff is very professional.

Yelp
Service from Sophia was absolutely excellent. She was very friendly, and offered me black walnut bitters for my old fashioned, which was one of the best I've had in a while. Their unique dry aging methods was good, as the steak was nice and tender. It could have been trimmed a bit better in my opinion, but you order rib eye for the flavor in my opinion, which this had plenty of. The pimento Mac and cheese was excellent and creamy, but I felt with the strong flavor of pimento it could have used a bit more cheese, but again, excellent. The eclectic feel was modern, but for a high end place such as this, I'd personally go for a bit more formality. Please come here though, businesses like this deserve your own opinion, as a business should never be punished for trying different things. And if you're getting a drink, ask for Sophia, you won't find better

Yelp
Great new steakhouse for Branford. The dry aged ribeye was fantastic. Great crust & so much flavor. My wife had the scallops and they were great too. Definitely finer diner than most places around, but it fits a nice niche.

Yelp
Glad to have a steak house in this area. Did not disappoint! Out server Dan was attentive and personal. We enjoyed the strawberry daquari martini and the green velvet for dessert! Bailey's and blue Curacao i was skeptical, It tastes like pistachio! Amazing. The French onion soup was very good, I might ask for less bread topping next time. The wedge salad was excellent! Ribeye steak and filet were well seasoned and melt in your mouth tender. They provide a steak sauce, it doesn't need it. We tried it, very good. The Mac n cheese was creamy and the asparagus was tasty. My girlfriend enjoyed the crab Oscar on her steak. The PB and J whoopie pie was a nice treat. Next time I want to try the chocolate cake. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Made a last minute reservation on Open Table at the Saltbrick prime in. Branford Ct. Had to wait 15 minutes past reservation time to b seated. Not an issue. It was a busy evening. When we finally got seated, had to wait for water. Other tables around us also just arriving had water. The waiter filled one of the glasses half full. Never came back. Had to ask a server at another table for water. Finally got to order only to find out they had run out of Baked potatoes. It was 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. How do u run out of baked potatoes at a steakhouse. Had to ask to get water refills. Had to ask for a salt shaker 3 times. This is not the makings of an upscale restaurant. So no I will not recommend them for dinner. Only good thing I can say is, the staff was pleasant.

Yelp
We loved the service - food - and experience. My husband thought his prime rib was fatty and they could have a better GF option for dessert. Sorbet was good but boring and not worth the $

Yelp
We dined on the Pub side of salt brick. Waitstaff may be trained but are not experienced. Lobster roll lobster is diced pieces only choice is citrus butter flavored. Cobb salad is diced, we added grilled chicken. The burger is offered one way only - smashed cooked well done only. No gluten free bread nor rolls. Poor acoustics - extremely loud.

Yelp
Great food! However, they need to turn the lights and get a general aesthetic, it's all over the place design wise. Service =excellent.

Yelp
The seafood tower was amazing!!! Delicious and an exciting presentation. We also had a filet and prime rib that were top notch. We did not leave one bite behind. The ambiance is spectacular and fun for both a regular night out or a special celebration. Great vibes, food and service. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
