Saltgrass Steak House

It was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. I loved the food, my steak was cooked perfect. I loved the flavor of the food, and the smoked Mac and cheese was amazing. I would come again here and also recommend others. The servers and the host were very kind. I couldn't get a before picture of my food, once I saw it I immediately dug in and savored every bite.

We had never had steak in Texas and the reviews said this was one of the best! They did not disappoint. Our “daughter” from Spain even approved of their shrimp. For a bunch of Kansas girls and a Spaniard it was a big hit. Would absolutely eat here again.

It’s our first time here, and everything was delicious! The steak was cooked just right, the service was great, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Totally worth the long drive to come and try it! 🥩✨

Took my beautiful wife out for a nice dinner. This Saltgrass never disappoints. The service was great! I hate that I forgot the young lady's name as she was the best server i ever had at this location. Friendly, great advice on the menu, and really took care of us. My wife had the chicken fried chicken and I had the large prime rib. Food was on point, pineapple margaritas were delish and the pumpkin cheesecake was one of the best we ever had. Thanks SG Team for a beautiful night after a long week.

Texas Saltgrass was excellent, I'm a pescatarean and sometimes my choices are limited, but here I had a very good experience in my selection. I had the shrimp Alfredo and it was creamy, shrimp was plump and fresh so I will return to try everything pescatarean and I cant wait!! Waiter was named Brandon and he was so attentive, thanks for your recommendation BRANDON.... customers request him because he is awesome and not grumpy like the other waitress.

Came here for a first time steakhouse experience and had Knox as a server. He was fantastic all around! Great banter, service and attitude! We'll be back!

America the Manager is excellent. Great people skills and very helpful. He checks on customers and solves any concerns quickly. Starlight, who is a trainer and serves tables, is awesome. A great voice, beautiful herself, and awesome in customer service. My wife and I will definitely go back and request her. Food and atmosphere were great! I would give it a ten if there were such a thing! Suggest the blackened reddish and the grilled double-pork chops with bourbon sauce. Both are awesome!

We were blessed enough to be seated at a booth that faced the big screen so we could watch the Cowboys play...it was near three when our efficient, kind, attentive waiter, Dee took such good care of us! We were allowed to watch the game, not feel pressured, and to fellowship after leaving Springcreek Church, in Garland. It was relaxing, comfortable, and we were well taken care of! We strongly recommend it.

My husband and I went to the Saltgrass in Richardson tonight, and our waitress Michelle, was great, personable and attentive. The food was fast, hot and cooked perfect. When other restaurants are no longer in touch with their clientele, it's nice to have dinner in an establishment that still understands their client base. We did inform the GM of what a jewel he has in Michelle and how much we enjoyed her and our meal.

We chose this location for our friend's birthday. They let us decorate and our waiter was very helpful. We greatly appreciated the service! The ambiance was quiet and cozy. The food was great as usual. And we enjoyed our steaks! We tried the filet mignon and our friends tried the T-bone. He said steak is second only to Texas bbq. We will come again!

If you want a taste of Texas, Saltgrass is a great place to go. In my most recent visit I ordered the Chopped Steak with sweet potato. The sear on the steak was perfect. I don't want to leave out what I consider the best part of this meal, and that's the mushroom gravy. Delicious.

So Monday Labor Day holiday break. My lady & I looking for something good but not one of our usual places to eat. SaltGrass comes to mind. 5-ish on a Holiday thought it might be a little busier than it was. Greeted we a smile & our host took us to a comfortable booth. SaltGrass always has that cozy inviting feel to relax & enjoy a good meal. Shontel was our waitress and she was pretty attentive and took care of us right away. So the drinks were refreshing, water and peach tea. My lady ordered chop steak w bake potato loaded everything but chives, cheese on the chop steak. I ordered chicken fried steak with Mac n cheese. This is where things started going wrong, Both plates came out not cold but just warm, like they sat on the pass too long, cheese on chop steak was not even melted, hardly anything thing on the bake potato, minimal at best. Chicken fried steak 5 out of 10, Mac n cheese had cooled off so much that the cheese was like paste. Everything tasted great, but it was like eating leftovers. We all work very hard for our money, but we expect food at a restaurant to be better than what you can make at home, especially for the price you pay at a steakhouse. If the meal had been better I could over looked the fact of how difficult it is the get to this location and how sketchy the neighborhood is as well. Best of luck, stay safe. I'll check this one off the list & move on.

Came here for a first time steakhouse experience and had Knox as a server. He was fantastic all around! Great banter, service and attitude! The cowboy decorations are awesome as well! We'll be back!

This is our traditional Valentine's Day dinner spot. If you're planning to be seated quickly, you better have a reservation and last minute won't work. We had great service for such a busy night. Our server was very good (although the server who helped her out was rather rude). The place was packed, as you can imagine, but we were still able to carry on a conversation and actually hear each other. If you just had to see the latest game/scores, there are screens throughout. We were seated near the fireplace which is just very quaint. Our food came out quickly and was hot. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and was very tender. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and prepared. Truly an outstanding meal!

The ambiance is pretty good but the food was just okay. The brisket burger was nothing to write home about and the ribeye steak was dry and pricey. The wait staff was very nice though.

Once again the food was great and the waitperson was attentive and everything was correct. It's a nice place to have a leisurely lunch even when lots of people are there. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the salads fresh and crisp. Fried green beans were yummy and the Mac and cheese was delish. I recommend.

First my bestie and I went for lunch today and it was amazing! Big shout out to our server Jedidiah!! My friend ordered the grilled shrimp with the wedge salad and fried green beans! There was nothing left on her plate - she loved it. I ordered a wedge salad and a bowl of tortilla soup. The wedge which had crisp lettuce, wonderfully ripe tomatoes and bacon pieces was dressed with house made ranch and a balsamic vinaigrette! It was so good especially on a muggy day in Dallas! The tortilla soup was amazing. Theirs has nice fresh chunks of avacado along with rice, chicken and tortilla strips. It wasn't spicy , which I loved, and it felt like good, healthy soup that would carry you through the day. It was pretty quiet but we arrived at 1pm so I'm sure we missed the lunch crowd. It was great place for us to talk and catch up on everything. Strongly recommend!!

we were in Dallas for a funeral, staying at a hotel when one of the guests recommended Saltgrass so we sauntered on over. got there as they opened and were greeted and seated by a lovely woman named Kendra who happened to be the DM. she made sure we got the best server (Alexis). ordered cocktails well because why not. it's 5:00 somewhere. then proceeded to order lunch. i have a food allergy and when I mentioned it to our server, she in turn told Kendra who came over to make sure i would be ok with what i had initially ordered and it wasn't. she steered me in the right direction and OH BOY! was it ever the best choice. had the rib eye and it was seasoned and grilled to perfection. we hail from NM so i know a thing or two about beef. I also had the wedge salad, and it was big enough for two (i didn't share). from start to finish it was a TEN. highly recommend Saltgrass and ask for Alexis, you will not be disappointed!

We were in town from Montreal, Canada - visiting the state fair, having mexican, bbq and all things we could fit into a short Dallas trip. Although there are lots of steak houses in the area, I wasn't looking for something high end or fancy as many places I looked up seemed to have a formal desscode so this wasn't something we had packed for. We settled on Saltgrass as we found a gift card deal at Costco where you could get a $100 gift card for Saltgrass and associated chains for $80. Saltgrass is similar to Texas Roadhouse which is something we experienced on the East Coast. I like this type of laid back casual vibe and affordable price point. Our group of 3 all got different types of steaks, shrimp, crawfish toppings, mac and cheese side and loaded mashed potatoes. My sirloin steak was initially too rare but the two other plates were perfect. The mac and cheese was velvety and very creamy, delicious. Although the portion too small for the plate it was served in. Seems like they only filled it half way. The loaded mashed potatoes were so rich, filled with butter and cheese to the point where everything was an oily mess. The flavors were good but over the top and all the extra melted cheese and sour cream made the potatoes too liquidy. I would not recommend this addition as it totally changes the texture of the potatoes. If I had to compare this chain to Texas Roadhouse, well Texas Roadhouse is a winner. Having been multiple times, I know the complimentary bread and butter is far tastier, the steak has better seasoning and the mashed potatoes served with gravy are superior. I liked that Saltgrass has a more southern flair, there are cajun options and crawfish for example which you may not find at other steakhouses closer to home. I know chains can be hit or miss - overall experience was good but I wouldn't come back since there are so many other places to eat steak. If you have a gift card or want to eat something casual as a group or with family, this is a great place.

I love Saltgrass, there are only few chain steakhouses I like and this is one of them because usually the food and service are consistent. Not here! I gave my Landry's club number to the server when he asked. My points weren't applied. The server was slow and got 2 of our 4 orders wrong. Drinks weren't refilled, we asked for sweetener and salt and never got it from our server so we had to flag down another server. The food was good but getting our appetizer at the same time as our entree really upset me.

Michelle is the best server, such a sweet young lady, with a fun personality, so polite, and on top of every need that we had. I can't remember the managers name, but such a kind man. Came over and visited with us and thanked us for dining with them. Great food! Great experience!

Reliably Saltgrass! If you've been before, you know exactly what to expect. If you've haven't, you'll get good service, good food, and a Texas steakhouse atmosphere!

Restaurant was very well ran Manager less was very kind always checking making sure that we were doing good. Our waiter Tyson was above and beyond perfect in every aspect. My tea never ran out just awesome service. Restaurant wasn't immaculate shape very clean very comfortable. Enjoyed my experience all the way around will be back again. FYI, our waiter Ty could be a corporate trainer and train some of the people I've dealt with in the past in different locations. It's very personable, very professional and has a wonderful outgoing personality.

After several visits here lately that were just ok my visit last week was my last. Customer service beginning with the host all the way to manager is severely lacking. We received our salads and the entrees arrived about 3 minutes later. We told the waiter who delivered the food that we just got our salads. He looked at us and asked, "What do you want me to do with your food?" By the time we finished the salads the food had cooled quite a bit. The crab cakes were over cooked, tasteless and inedible. I informed the waiter who informed the manager. The manager came to the table to let me know he tasted the cakes in the back and they were good. I was so taken aback by this comment that I didn't even respond. My hard as a hockey puck cake was visible right in front of him. The ribeye was very thin. It was requested to be rare but was medium. After a long wait we were able to flag down a waiter other than our own to get some help. The replacement steak came out rare but was not seasoned. We requested some seasoning to add to the steak from our waiter. She then went around and cleared some tables and took an order for another table. I had to find the manager to get the seasoning and by this time the thin steak was cold. My 2nd glass of tea had something floating in it and the replacement tea (sweet) was barely sweetened so it tasted bitter. Any one of these things wouldn't be a big deal but when all this happens in one sitting it's beyond frustrating. We were offered one piece of dessert for free for our troubles. Total time for 3 people was 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Great food, service & atmosphere. Price is right on for quality food. Emergency travel toTX made this restaurant a blessing to us. Ate there more than once Would eat there regularly if lived here

Pretty disappointed in my delivery order. Ordered a baked potato and steak. I believe it is COMMON KNOWLEDGE that you don't put butter and other things ON. a potato when preparing it to go. I mean...when would you ever??? Even if I ordered it at restaurant, it would come with those items on the side or at least a server would ask what I wanted. Nope...not for delivery. It came with , I guess butter (tho you couldn't tell), small amount of green onion, cheese and bacon. I don't typically like bacon or cheese on my potato but I was given no other choice. Steak is fine...and I guess I'm lucky the salad dressing wasn't on my salad. Small victories. No bread delivered either. Just all around disappointed.

Disappointed. Again. Unsmiling brusque hostess with neon hair. Server unsmiling and curt. Never checked back to see how food was- very undercooked meat. Asked a different server to send manager by. Never happened till I had paid the check and I caught the manager's attention. He told me my very pink/ red bloody meat was medium. Lol. Well, having been a GM in 2 top-grossing and rated fine dining restaurants for 2 decades, MEDIUM means a HOT, PINK CENTER, not a cold bloody red center, all the way out to the edges of the meat. Yuck. Probably won't return to a long time favorite venue. This is the 4th time I've visited in a row that the meat was cooked incorrectly. That's too many screw ups. Have always enjoyed Saltgrass since they first opened but they've been going downhill steadily, especially in the server category. Very sad to say so.

This is steak House is nicely positioned on 75. This location was nice on the inside and our server, Camie, went above and beyond to make my mom feel very special on her birthday dinner. The chocolate cake to take a while to come out but overall it was a great time.

Typical chain steakhouse with very high ceilings covered in taxidermy and a large selection of bourbon drinks. Please don't be fooled into thinking that your 6oz tiny steak will be two inches think and a small rock of a round steak. Oh, no. It looks like they take their larger center cut filets and cut them horizontally to get two smaller cuts. This means that you can't order it anything warmer than medium or it it will be a hockey puck. The food was good, but the service was lacking. Our server was kind enough, but didn't ask us if we wanted any dessert and the entrees came two minutes after the appetizers. Not ideal.

We started out coming here for my son's birthday and had a poor experience. I talked to General Manager Eric, and he offered to make it right for us. I made a reservation with the restaurant for a return visit, and this time I was very pleased. The server (Samuel?) was attentive and returned frequently. Our order was taken in a timely manner, and we were served hot, fresh food. Though our first trip was underwhelming, Saltgrass definitely made up for that. Great food, and great service. The Cedar Hill Tx location just blatantly helped 3 tables ahead of us?? The worst feeling is to be discriminated by another person of color! Service was excellent. Wedge salad was a joy to eat. Texas T-bone not the best. Kind of tough, thinner than I'm used to. Disappointing.

Would leave zero if I could, got sat at our table and waited for 25 mins and nobody came to get our drinks or even bothered to attend us, ended up walking out without being served.

Great place for lunch as well as dinner. I was wanting a good Caesar salad. The grilled chicken on top really hit the spot. Crisp and a lot of flavor in the dressing. The BBQ shrimp are back on the menu now. The BBQ shrimp disappeared during Covid. I'm so happy they are back. BBQ shrimp are a must add on to your meal. The bar tender was great. The manager stopped by after showing the Landry's card. I have been going here for 17 years. Solid Saltgrass!

Won't come back Spend most of my time blowing away the annoying Bar Flys Bar Server seen wiping his nose with his fingers Black mat placed on bar surface was sticky and dirty Knife didn't look clean I've had salad here and it's pretty good though not having one tonight

We had a reservation at 2:30 Thanksgiving day for their Thanksgiving meal. When we got there, they handed us regular menus. We said we wanted the Turkey dinner. THEY RAN OUT!!! They open at 11:00 AM - the waiter said they ran out at noon. What terrible management to have that happen. We have never been so disappointed - with no compensation or apology from management. It left us no options since every where had been booked for months ahead of Thanksgiving. The food we had was OK, but hard to say we enjoyed it after planning for weeks to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.

We love Saltgrass! We've taken friends, work groups, and family here and loved it each time. The staff is friendly and attentive while being sure to make sure they aren't hovering too close. I have yet to try anything that wasn't delicious. We will be back again soon, especially since their gluten free menu is so good.

Have been going to this Salt Grass for many years. I always go there for my pork spare ribs. Food was great and so was service.

When in get a craving once in awhile for a really good steak (that we're not grilling at home), well then that's when we go to Saltgrass! Love their filets! Cooked with a fine line of pink in the middle. Yummmm!! Add a baked potato with my favorite toppings and a wedge salad with a slice of Shiner Beer Bread a d whipped honey butter and I am in food heaven! When I want to eat a little lighter, then I order the steak salad. Sooo good! Ordering on-line was super easy and the pick up process was a breeze. My order was prepared perfectly and ready at the time they said it would be. So delicious!!

Stopped in to have my birthday lunch and Melissa our server was very nice and very good.

We come here every three months or so. Service has always been pretty good . Food is delicious as well but prices are a bit higher than other places that are just as good! Overall. A good experience!

The food was good and the atmosphere was alright. However what really made my dining experience was the service Robert delivered. He was outstanding. Robert went above and beyond. For me to say this is quite a compliment. I travel for a living and eat out quite often. Therefore, I see a lot of servers. Robert is a great server I wish I could find more like him. Robert definitely ensured that I would return again.

They were out of my favorite steak, the one with the bacon wrapped around it so they brought me out a different steak and half of it was all fat. We will not be going back.

My first time at a Saltgrass Steak House and I have to say, they have a great product. Unlike the high end steak houses, Saltgrass has great value proposition, a lower priced great steak. All the available sides and apps were well thought out, just an overall great offering. I would highly recommend you giving this Texas chain a try.

My family and I came here for my nephew's birthday on a Saturday night. The wait was about 30 minutes but it didn't seem that long. We were a party of 10. Our waiter, Will, was pleasant and made sure we were okay throughout the dinner service. I'm not a beef eater but others in our party are. I was able to find something to eat but, in my opinion, there aren't a lot of options that fit my fancy on the menu. Even on of my aunts said that she couldn't decide because there wasn't much on the menu that appealed to her. However, the options that we chose we really enjoyed it. I chose the Grilled Shrimp, which came with Herb Rice. I chose Brussels sprouts and potato soup for my sides. For the ones who ordered soup or salad with their meals, we got that first. My potato soup was quite good. I like how creamy it was. I do believe there were bits of bacon in it but I wasn't quite sure. For my meal, I really enjoyed my grilled shrimp. I chose a good combo with Brussels sprouts and Rice. I wish they would've given me more veggies though. They were tasty. My mother sat next to me and she ordered the Crab Cakes as her entrée. She got 3 of them with a side of mac n cheese. Her crab cakes were really good. Now, I've lived in Maryland for the past 12 years and they aren't Maryland crab cakes, but they were sufficient. I would order those if I were to visit again. Overall, the food was solid and the service was great. I had no complaints. I would visit them again if any of my friends wanted to visit.

I don't know how low people's standards have to be for some of these reviews, but I'd be embarrassed if I was Erick Grounds and my name was etched in the glass on the door. I'll start off by saying, I'm a Landry's Club member. Which I'm actually coming to find means nothing. If they ask, save the 25 bucks. The steak is overcooked at this location every time. The fix is to still charge you, but bring you out a better attempt the second time, 30 minutes later. Everybody you're with will be done eating, which is really enjoyable. Tonight we got a "sorry, we'll try again, but we will still be charging you." Those were the exact words out of the managers mouth. The assistant manager and the waitress were much more gracious...but unable to really help make things right. This manager literally could offer nothing better than sorry about your luck, and your kids will still have to sit and wait while we try to do our job right. No thank you.

The service was great we went at a busy time but didn't have a long wait. The steaks were done to order. It was a very pleasant. evening. Price are very reasonable.

Service is really great. Appetizers ---------- Salad: 10/10 Potato soup: 10/10‍ Fried pickles and peppers: 6/10 the peppers were better. Loaded fries: 10/10 ---------------------- Meal ----- Classic steak or something like that: 3/10 if I'm being nice. It was just a hamburger patty with toppings. Wasn't that good. we didn't finish it. Overall: 8/10 I'm sure they have better meals to try, so will definitely try again.

Went here for my mothers birthday dinner on Saturday night and we had a good time. There were four of us and despite the buzz of the restaurant we were able to get seated right away. Our waitress, Ashley, was super sweet and patient. I don't eat steak that often, so I asked her a couple of times what I should order and she happily helped. I decided to get a medium well 10 ounce top sirloin with the mushroom topping. For my side I got their broccoli. Instead of their regular salad I got their wedge salad, which was a couple of bucks more, but so worth it because it is delicious. The steak was just okay, but I am not a big steak eater, but I found the topping to be a little overly salty and I was not super impressed. I think I prefer their chicken and fish dishes as they are lighter and definitely have more flavor. I love that Saltgrass has a great reward plan as my mom was able to get $25 off for her birthday. She loved her prime rib and that is all that matters!

If you're looking for terrible service and cold food this is the place for you. The manager came over to apologize and she clearly could not have cared less. I think this restaurant needs to shut their doors and retrain the entire staff.

Slowest service ever! Took a good 15 mins to get our drinks and over 30 mins to grt our food on a slow monday night. Also at another location we were able to substitute sides, not here. Margarita tasted aweful too. Won't be back.

No matter the location, Saltgrass is always a good bet for quality food with a varied menu. I always order the Brussels sprouts-so yummy! Salads are crisp and fresh entrees cooked to order. a great Landry's location
