Saltgrass Steak House

Having moved from New England to Houston, we were anxious to try a real Texas steakhouse. The Saltgrass was recommended, and did not disappoint! The steaks and pork ribs were melt in your mouth delicious. The staff were very nice as well. The Saltgrass is highly recommended!

We love Salt Grass! It's by far the best affordable steakhouse. Their pat's ribeye is so delicious. And even though the steaks here won't break the bank they actually cook it to the desired temperature. What makes it even better the bread and butter! And each entree comes with a soup/salad and a side. I am a big fan of the baked potato soup and my wife loves the tortilla soup. My favorite side are the brussel sprouts. Their shrimp and fish entrees are solid as well. Also the kids can get a grilled cheese sandwich, my son is a huge fan! Also Lydia is a wonderful server! She noticed my son loved the tortilla chips and got him a small amount extra for him to snack on.

Sudan @the bar….. was absolutely amazing! She was attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. She had great knowledge of the menu, gave excellent recommendations, and made sure everything came out just right. Her warm personality and professionalism really made our dining experience stand out. We left not only satisfied with our meal but impressed with the service. Definitely one of the best servers we’ve ever had!

Had the pleasure of having Isaiah as my waiter today and I have to say he was excellent!! The food was also delicious came here during happy hour and the drinks were pretty good as well would definitely be visiting this location again hopefully it’s with the same waiter!!

Had a great experience at Saltgrass Steakhouse. I sat at the bar and was pleasantly surprised by how attentive and friendly the service was. Sudan, the bartender, went above and beyond—super helpful with recommendations and made sure everything was spot on throughout the meal. I ordered a steak (of course) and it was cooked perfectly—great flavor, juicy, and just the right amount of seasoning. The atmosphere at the bar was relaxed but lively, and it made for a really enjoyable dinner. If you're dropping by, I definitely recommend grabbing a seat at the bar and asking for Sudan. Solid service and a great meal.

During my recent trip from out of town, I stumbled upon Saltgrass Steak House, and boy, am I glad I did! The place had a cozy vibe that made me feel right at home, even though I was miles away. James, the manager, was a real gem. He was always on the move, making sure everyone was happy and well-fed. It was impressive how he seemed to know exactly when we needed something, almost like he had a sixth sense. His hands-on approach and friendly demeanor made the experience even better. Now, let's talk about the food. It was downright delicious! The steak was cooked just right—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were spot on, too, making the whole meal a treat for the taste buds. I recommend the baked potato- SO GOOD! Wedge salad was also a nice treat! If you're ever in town and looking for a great meal, Saltgrass Steak House is the place to be. With James running the show, you're in for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience that you won't soon forget.

This was my first time going to this restaurant. I enjoyed my meal & our server was great. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name because it was a large group of us there for a work meeting. I will definitely patron this restaurant again.

Great food, at a good price, one time will not suffice. Come on down to Saltgrass for quality at the max. Whenever I want to get a good steak and sip on some of that delicious Texas Specialty: Sweet Tea, this is the go-to spot. Right off of 59, this location has plenty of parking. The interior is absolutely beautiful and encompasses all things that one would associate with Texas. Staff is always friendly and serving you with a smile and some of that Texas Hospitality. Honestly, Saltgrass is my go-to whenever I want a non-Texas to taste what we are all about. Where else can you get a delicious quality steak for around 30 bucks? The bread and sweet butter that you are given as you wait for your food is always pure deliciousness. On many visits, I usually go for a New York Strip, or Maudeen's Center Cut Fillet. You can't go wrong with either one of these when you are in the mood for steak. We love getting the broccoli with cheese as a side. Yum! For this particular visit, we decided to order the Tenderloin Bites as an appetizer. Boy! They were so tender and delicious. I decided to change it up, and ordered a grilled Atlantic Salmon with a side of Mashed potatoes. You are also given the choice of a salad or soup, I love their potato soup, and decided to potato it all up with that particular pick. Overall, the food here is spectacular! You can never go wrong. This place is a Texan price and joy. Quality service and food that never breaks the bank!

I was pretty happy with my work lunch here! We had great service from Cameron, she was always around and ready to take our order when we were. It wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. The food was really good, but my steak was slightly overcooked.

Came for dinner with my family & we were very pleased with everything. Service 5/5 Since the moment we walked in we were greeted by the staff. Our server tonight was Cameron & she was fantastic. She was very attentive all the time, we didn't have to ask for refills because she was on top of it. From looking around all the servers seemed friendly. Two managers also came by to see how our dinner was. Food 5/5 Our steaks were cooked perfectly & everything was season just right. So props to the kitchen staff as well! Ambiance 5/5 Restaurant is very cozy and feels clean. Can't wait to go back again. Keep up the great work!

I was out running errands when I decided to get a steak to go, I called from about 15 ish minutes away, and by the time I got there, it was ready. I hadn't been there in a bit, and never had their take out befobut was hoping it would be as good as I expected. I was not disappointed!!!! It was cooked to perfection and the string beans were the best I'd ever tasted. I very bite was delicious. The gentleman whom took my order, as well as the young lady in the to-go area, couldn't have been a better representation of great customer service. I highly recommend!!

The ambiance was nice it wasn't to crowded and the bartender was really kind, Try this meal you won't be disappointed

Damia is an exceptional server. The food was delicious. I recommend the fried shrimp. Everyone at the table had a steak and green a steakhouse, te steaks were hot or miss. My steak was cooked perfectly. But, one steak came out rare and another overcooked. Top sirloin is a good choice, great seasoning. I do not recommend the ribeye, they are paper thin here. Fried mushrooms and rattlers were great apps. Half priced cocktails and appetizers during the week. Overall good time here.

I spent $65 for lunch to be delivered for my grandson and I and they could not even get the order right. I ordered my baked potato with no butter and no chives and it came dripping in butter and loaded with chives. Unbelievable!

i went yesterday with my mom for lunch & was very disappointed in the rude server as well as the cold food. the server refused that there was a manager on duty

Waited 2.5 hours for our food and our ticket had extra items we didn't order. There was a lot of back and forth to get our ticket corrected. Spent a total of 3 hrs here.

I've try to come to this location atleast once a month because it is usually amazing. My last visit what so ever was a pretty bad experience. i ordered a queso with brisket and a fried pickle and peppers as a appetizer and the queso was just very watery this time and there was little to no brisket on it. the fried pickles and peppers were good though. once we finally got our main meal which took way to long and in between that time our server did not even check on us other than to bring out appetizers and drinks . but once we finally got our main meals which were the 12oz my strip with asparagus and my girlfriend got your grilled shrimp with broccoli and cheese . my steak was really dried which isn't normal on a medium rare steak and my girlfriends shrimp was really rubbery feeling. once i told the server about my steak she told me i should have ordered rare if i wanted it juicy which isn't true because i get my steak the same way everytime and it's never been dry before.

Would only give 1 star because the bartender was friendly even though he took forever and cared to be taking care of another patron at the bar instead of us. We decided to sit at the bar and order a drink while we ordered our food to go. We ordered everything at the bar, but took quite some time before we were even attended to and then even longer to place our to go order. We had long finished our drinks (and mind you I took my time drinking it) and still no order to be seen. Even heard him ask on the intercom about the order. Finally he decided to go see what the hold up was only to find out that our order was sitting in the front take out / pick up area for who knows how long. Did they offer to make a fresh steak? Nope, just acted like all was fine. Luckily I checked everything because they didn't even put our salads in and he didn't even care to check himself. No wonder this location was pretty much empty. If you want a steak or anything else, go somewhere else. Even the "manager" didn't care to assist or apologize. Such a sad representation of the Fertitta family. Highly disappointed.

Walked in on a Monday afternoon around 4:30pm waited about 5mins to be seated when sat at table was greeted right away by Corey very friendly drinks cam out fast with bread... but it was a baby roach crawling all over my bread when sat down on table i made staff aware of situation some laughed others apologized manger came over about 3 mins later and just offered to move our table.. NO THANKS i said we will dine somewhere else!!

This was our first time here and it was the worst experience ever! The waitress tried her best, but they were short handed. The mangers need to be fired for not doing their jobs in making the customers happy. They just didn't care! Bathrooms were dirty, had no toilet paper and water on the floor. After waiting 40 min for our meal, the kitchen staff dropped our food and so we had to wait longer. We were late to our concert. Never again! This Steak restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. Then after all that they over billed us which took another 20 min and a 2nd manager to fix.

Order sucked had delivery, did not get what I paid $$$ for I'm so pissed! I called the store to speak to a manager and the first guy hung up on me! Called again the manager answered! ( probably wasn't the manager) I explained why I was upset over this expensive meal, he told me I needed to call a third party !! If I didn't live so far I would have driven back up there and told the chef to eat this shit! Never again.. be aware and I'm reading all these reviews about break in of cars! As much as they charge you mean to tell me these mfka's can't hire security !! I'm done fussing now ! Damn I should have cooked my own diner !!

LUNCH & EARLY DINING 11A-6P BACON WRAPPED FILET $20.99 - comes w/ a side & salad. Ordered it medium, came out borderline medium to medium-well (not as pink as I'd like, could've ordered medium rare). It looked dry and unappetizing as I cut it, but it was actually very tender! Bacon was meh because it wasn't even crispy. MAC & CHEESE was yummy! Good portion. CAESAR SALAD (dressing on the side) was typical. Complimentary bread was a bit over baked so it was hard (even smelled burnt). NEW YORK STRIP 12 oz $27.99- date said it was so good! MASHED POTATOES & BROCCOLI were both great (nice portions). Medium was medium to medium-well also (could've been more pink). Service was good, but we came early at 5pm Friday so it was empty; waitress checked up on us multiple times (a little too much?). The food took awhile to come out though. Not the fanciest steakhouse, BUT GREAT PRICES for the food and portions. Recommend if you're looking for a decent and affordable steak meal.

After ordering a grilled chicken salad, which like most items the price has increased but the portion has decreased. My order was pickup so of course, I had to review the item & make sure my condiments were properly correctly in the bag.

I have a love-hate relationship with all of the saltgrass steakhouses. Why? You ask? Because I always come here thinking I'd eat a carbless meal and get sucked into the carb life through their amazing complimentary bread and sweetened butter. I LOVE their bread and butter, so much so that I'd be happy to only eat this when I visit. I usually order the same thing everytime I visit: ribs. Yes, yes, I know, it's a steakhouse and I should get steak but gosh darn it I love those ribs. They're flavorful and juicy, and the sauce is sweet. With the ribs, I pair their mac and cheese which is also pretty tasty. Together, they make for a very delectable meal. This particular visit though, I decided to try their fried mushrooms. God lawd, how did I not know they were so fabulous? Dipped in their restaurant-made ranch dressing, these mushrooms made me a believer. They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I became an instant fan. As per usual, I paired my meal with a frosérita which was as amazing as I had remembered. I would recommend that they put a bell or something at the front door because when I got there, there were multiple signs dating wait to be seated but no evidence that any of the staff saw me. So I kept moving further and further into the restaurant (after sanitizing, of course) before I caught someone's attention. Once they realized I was there, I was taken to a booth that was a bit dirty but quickly changed to a cleaner booth once notified. All in all a pretty good visit.

Do not skip that potato soup. Porthouse steak and grilled chicken won't leave you disappointed! Must try. Von took care of us very well.

First time at this location. Our server here was Jason. Very professional and courteous. I brought my three daughters and he was very patient with us as we took forever to order. We started with the cheese fries and ice teas. I ordered Pat's Ribeye for myself and two of my daughters ordered the cheeseburger sliders. My eldest ordered a house salad with loaded mashed potatoes. Although service was great from Jason, we did have some mishaps from the kitchen to our table. Our appetizer was ordered without bacon as my kids are allergic, and it came with it anyway. Also my youngest did not receive her drink until after our food came out, and when it did, the kid's cup had a crack down the entire side. The cup was leaking and it dripped on her. The food was good and my kids had a great time so all in all, the overall experience was good.

I come here quite often with my cousin. Not sure why this location has such poor reviews, I've never been let down. Our food has always come out just as ordered. But, the service is above and beyond. This time we sat at the bar and the bartender Carl made sure my needy self had everything requested right away. Bonus for the good, short conversations. Thank you Saltgrass and Carl. The cousin and I will continue to be loyal customers. Mary. Tip: do not pass up the bacon shrimp bloody Mary.

I've come here before for lunch but it was my first time going for dinner. I had a craving for meat so this was the closest place to us. When we sat down the waitress took her order for drinks and for food. I had the ginger lemonade which was a little too gingery so she changed it for the pomegranate mojito which was too sweet but it was nice that she offered to change it. For dinner I had the smothered Filet which has mushrooms and onions and for the sides I had mashed potatoes and green beans. I enjoyed my steak. It was small but good ($26). My significant other had the prime rib. I wasn't a fan because it was very fatty with little meat for ($25). The service was great. Everyone was very nice and attentive. The food does take awhile though to come out so maybe get an appetizer if you're hungry.

I had a decent experience here. I went for happy hour. I had their version of a Long Island iced tea and the half rack of ribs from the lunch menu. The drink was soooo good. Not too sweet but not too strong. One is enough lol. The ribs were perfectly cooked, very tender, juicy, and flavorful. The green beans are A1!

New to Texas and bestie came to visit. I've heard decent things about Saltgrass, so we ventured in with the kids...GREAT DECISION! The food was perfectly good, fast and tasty... but ERIC... he provided service that I may say is absolutely unmatched. And I've been in the food industry for nearly 20 years. I am seriously impressed. Attention to detail, including suggestions for every step of the meal.. temperature, cocktails, kid's meal... all of it. While bring refreshingly friendly and personable. I'm coming back simply to request him. Eric definitely made the experience.

The wait is long , food is pretty good , my only issue is the long wait , I'm a Landry's member didn't matter here we still had to wait to get seated , they are short on staff , we decided to wait bc my daughter likes their steak ,

Now that I live far away from the Meyerland one, I was looking for another Salt Grass and this one didn't disappoint. The restaurant seemed smaller in size or it could just be the way it was decorated. However, even with the small size I didn't have any problem finding a table. I love the food there and as you know, I'm not a steak kinda gal. I tend to go for the seafood and I was relatively happy with my choice. The sauce wasn't to my liking, but I was being adventurous. (I'm a picky eater, so I can't be too upset at Saltgrass for that.) Everyone at my table was treated well and we were served in a timely manner, though the speed drinks were refilled could stand to be sped up a bit. Overall, a pleasant experience and definitely will be a go-to restaurant now that I live further away from the Meyerland one.

very disappointed. came here with family to have nice dinner. we were not served complimentsry bread, waited for food forever. when food came my steak was raw instead of medium. I politely asked to cook it more. not even my server, because our guy was hard to find. they got my steak back, but now it was completely burned. I was given extra side as an excuse. well, yea I am full of brussels sprouts that cost me like a steak. not good.

This is one of the many Landry restaurants that we decided to visit for our valentines meal. The initial greeting from the hostess was quick and amazing. The type of service you imagine but never really get. We were seated and another lady explained the menu and some of the specialties that may suit our taste after speaking to her. I chose to get both the Nashville hot chicken and a cheeseburger while he chose to eat their veggies. He's vegetarian and they do not have much to offer but the plate of veggies and macaroni were great. My favorite was the macaroni out of everything that I ate. It had a nice creaminess and bite from crumble and seasoning. As a Nashville native, it is frustrating to go to restaurants who claim to have the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. That frustration didn't stop here. It was just a chicken breast with a hot sauce poured atop. That is not anywhere close to the hat Nashville hot chicken is and I wish that owners or chefs would visit and try local foods first. We do not use a sauce to add the flavor and heat in Nashville. It is used from a combination of spices that coat the entire breast and give you a full bodied flavor and extreme heat. It's a heat that isn't for everyone. At least Landry didn't día buffalo sauce. It was more mayonnaise based. The burger wasn't as juicy as I expected but was still decent. The size was amazing and worth the money. The fries were bland. The veggies were outstanding once again: Brussels sprouts, green beans, and mashed potatoes !

Food was excellent !! Our server, Zya, was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL !!! She is the best !!! Our family comes here every year to celebrate our Moms birthday and Zya is by far the best server !!! My only complaint is that the restaurant was too hot inside. Had to keep my menu at the table to use for a fan !!! Please FIX YOUR AIR CONDITIONING !!!! Thank you !!!

We often order from this Saltgrass. It seems like every time we place an order for pick up, it's completely correct. But when we have it delivered thru delivery services, there's always something wrong and not sure on which side. This particular evening we decided to have our order delivered, and sure enough the gravy was missing for our chicken fried steak and no salad dressing for our salads. We called and spoke to James the manager. We offered to pick up gravy the next day since it was too close to the restaurant closing, but James not only offered dinner vouches-he offered to replace our entire dinner for whenever we wanted!! We gladly accepted his offer and picked it up the next evening. Thank you James for your outstanding customer service! We enjoyed the chicken fried steak with and without gravy. It was excellent both nights!

I am throwing out three stars immediately. Two stars for the foods and an additional star for the excellent table service. We ordered brisket queso, spinach/artichoke dip, chopped streak/mushrooms sauce with chopped Brussels spouts, chicken fried steak with garlic mashed potato, and chicken fried chicken with onion rings. Only the onion rings, chopped steak, and queso tasted good. Everything else were either under seasoned or over salted. The chicken fried chicken pattie was also small for the price. I don't see us returning.

Affordable steakhouse that never disappoints. Worth your while to also join the LSC club. Great spot for a nice lunch and also for an affordable family night out.

It was ok I had the pork ribs, shrimp , bake potatoe and salad my hubby had fries grilled pork chop , broccoli and cheese.

Service was excellent! The food was ok. It was a decent option for a midweek meal. They were expeditious and clean.

Absolutely love their steak & mojitos! I came here with my cousin for a nice girls lunch break. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was delicious! the service is good!

This is my first visit to this location, first walked in was not much different then my usual location but never the less the host was friendly. Once we sat on our table the wait staff was taking our drink order and was very friendly, and nice. All through out the meal our wait staffer continue to exhibit professionalism and taking care of our needs and very friendly. When the food arrived the steak was O.K. it did not look fresh or don't have an appeal look and tasted very salty to me. My mother order the same thing and her's prime ribs was also very salty. This is the first time I didn't finish my food in a Saltgrass steakhouse. I would have gave a 5 star if it wasn't for the food being too salty. But would recommend this location, just be aware of the saltiness of the food.

PLEASR WATCH YOUR CAR'!!!' They broke into several cars here on Oct 23 around 8pm when we left out. Went back in to tell he manager an a waiter says it's break in's regularly. Might be inside job because o saw other reviews after the fact. Be warned

Yup. Super Salty. Saw the review. Spot on with the Sodium. Gosh, hope it's an anomaly. Had to send whole meal back. Server was super excellent and he returned with a new entire entree sans salt. Win! Solved. This is a Good meet a friend & have a discussion one on one kinda place. Win! They have a good selection of seating & private rooms for group dinning. FYI: Traffic getting to & leaving establishment is heavy at exchanges & off ramps. But plenty of parking. Win!

Service is good. Staff are friendly. Place is clean. Our waiter continued to check on us throughout our stay, which was nice. Unfortunately 1 star because food sucked, mediocre. We order ribs for appetizer and half the rack was cold. It seemed like they just took the ribs out of it he fridge, poured bbq sauce on it and heat it up in the microwave. The fries were a little hard and just blah. Entree we had the 22 oz steak. Ordered medium well and it came medium. Sent half back to get it medium well. It wasn't terrible but wasn't good at the same time. Desert. Don't know why we event attempted to salvage the dinner. Ordered something that looked like a molted lava cake. Brownie was hard. :-( Not sure if it's just this particular location or it's all of them, but I don't m think I'll try any Saltgrass again.

This Saltgrass is our neighborhood go to for great food! For Curbside or dining in! The Hostess Hope is very knowledgeable, polite & professional. The staff and management is also very kind!

Food is Tasty. Customer service is good. Parking lot is always full. The wait is not long. Easy access on and off Frey.

The Salmon Caesar Salad is so good. The complimentary bread is worth the trip alone. Food is served with very little wait and excellent service for late Friday lunch.

So I just had the worst experience at Saltgrass Steak House (9110 SW Freeway, Houston). I ordered a to-go order at 7:50PM and I arrived at 8:23PM to pay and pickup my order. My order was not ready. I waited approximately an additional 10 minutes and was told my order was ready but they were trying to find plasticware. I waited an additional 7 minutes to be told some other patron has left with my food. Now, they attempt to remake my order and I am waiting for another 20 to 30 minutes. After waiting for well over an hour. I decided to ask for a refund which I received with attitude. NEVER AGAIN!! I did not take the food either... I lost my entire appetite!

DO NOT COME EAT HERE!! Your car will get broken into, we should've known better considering all the broken glass in the parking lot. Terrible service was the cherry on top

I crave their steaks and they are always hot and flavorful even when I purchased curbside to take home. The sides are good too and I love the salad and their croutons are easy to chew and not rock hard on their salads!
