Google
We had our first experience at the Las Vegas location, and were delighted to see that there was a location here close to us. The food was delicious and the service was great! My wife said it was the best pork chop she had eaten in a restaurant. My chicken fried steak and mac n cheese was also delicious. We will definitely be back!

Casmine D.

Google
I chose Saltgrass as a first date restaurant. It was mine and my dates first time. We both enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We both loved the smoked mac and cheese. (Try It). We will definitely be going again!

Sabrina J.

Google
First time here really enjoyed it, we had reservations which is best to do, because overhearing some of the people coming in without, the wait time is 45 minutes to an hour. The food and service was delicious.

Tara T.

Google
Great food! Friendly staff. You may have to wait for a table, but it's so worth it. Sit at the bar while you wait! I highly recommend the spicy margarita!

Google
Nice steak house with lots of options. Steaks are good and servers are attentive. Food portions are great and side dishes are good and inclusive. Quick and easy. Lines can be long, always best to reserve.

Gary M.

Google
Great service & atmosphere. The steaks are above average and the bread is great. The salads are average, especially since the quit including tomatoes ($1.00 up charge).

Google
Unique giant agave plant out front! Visited for the first time on a Friday night with no reservation and got seated in about 20 minutes. Organized staff in front and server was super kind and caring. Food was a little salty overall or else I would have given 5 stars. Great vibe, casual and fun. Clean inside and out, even the restroom.

Bernard W.

Google
The atmosphere was good. The meal was on point, myself and the bartender had a great conversation while eating my meal. Even though my birthday was almost 2 weeks ago she put a candle on the carrot cake. I recommend Saltgrass to a person who has never been. It's a Texas based restaurant.

Yelp
Hello: I was in town for business and was looking for a restaurant since Applebee's was closed on Mondays. I went to Saltgrass which was on my way back to the hotel. I sat at the bar was provided with drink and food menus. The selection of beverages and food was extensive. The experience I had that Monday evening resulted in my eating there for three additional nights; four nights in a row - that good! I met one of the managers and we had a pleasant chat. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great experience! *****

Vickie G.

Yelp
I took my friend there on Friday evening for his birthday. By the way, they don't do anything for your birthday, like give you a free dessert or sing a song or anything like that. We did not have a reservation but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. The food was good. We ordered the 16 oz ribeye with steamed broccoli and a house salad. Our waiter made sure that the broccoli was steamed. I don't like crunchy broccoli. We wanted rolls with our meal. However, it was like we had to beg for rolls.. We waited and waited and waited and finally at the end of our meal, we got two rolls. The waiter was kind enough to give us 4 rolls to take home with my leftovers. I would have rather we had them alongside our meal. The waiter informed us that they run out of rolls all the time. I'm providing this feedback so that this issue can be resolved and maybe on my next visit I can get rolls with my meal. A side note, I was mentioning this to one of my friends. She stated that she has been there multiple times and they always run out of rolls regardless of the time of the day that she has gone.

Yelp
First time going to this restaurant it is a Landry s restaurant affiliate. There was a 45 minute wait for a table we sat at the bar. The bartenders were not very friendly or nice but they got our first drinks- we asked for a appetizer menu when we finally got it we ordered the mushrooms and the fried pickles-both were cooked perfectly with great taste and flavor. We cash out and went to our table. Our waiter was exceptional! I had the steak salad- it was good but definitely different- steak was cooked rare (just how I like it) it also had potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, green beans, eggs and blue cheese crumbles only disappointing thing was I asked for no onions and they were on it. The bread served at the table was super light and fluffy- I didn't care for the cinnamon butter.

Yelp
Yum, we really enjoyed our dinner here. We did experience issues with our reservation and waited about 45-50 min for a table, but it was worth the wait. While waiting for a table we started with pickle chips and fried mushrooms at the bar. The mushrooms were incredible! They were cooked perfectly with a crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. The pickle chips were similarly perfectly fried and flavored. After finishing the appetizers, our table was ready. Our awesome waiter Titus greeted us and brought waters and complimentary rolls. The rolls were soft and delicious. We weren't fans of the accompanying cinnamon butter so Titus brought us regular butter. We ordered the brisket queso with our entrees. Everything was cooked to the right temp. I greatly enjoyed my rare steak and firm buttery broccoli. Overall we enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning!

Yelp
Our food was delicious. I had the Steak and Shrimp with a side of sweet & spicy Brussel sprouts. Hubby had the steak and ribs with loaded potatoes. The steak and ribs were giving tendernism. The was top notch. Albert and John were awesome they were very attentive and friendly. We had a great conversation with John and he gave us good laugh. The restaurant is very western style and family oriented. Overall food was great and service

Yelp
We have had nothing but terrific experiences here. Most recently we went for a Saturday lunch. There was a 20-30 minute wait for a table, but the bar is first-come-first-serve, so bar it was. Did take a few minutes for a Bartender to appear, but he was super busy, and once he did show up he took great care of us. We love Elijah! We had a question at one point and our interaction with the Manager was also terrific. Folks here clearly are proud to take care of the customer. Much appreciated. Food-wise, it's so good! Our salads were cold and fresh with wonderful dressings. Even the croutons were good. Their rolls with cinnamon butter are always melt-in-your-mouth-good. This time I broke away from just seafood to try their Rib combo with grilled shrimp and my choice of mac n cheese for a side. Rib perfection! So good, I would be happy with just those. Shrimp was fine, but those ribs are wow! Husband's Country Fried Steak was also really good. We both took some home and leftovers were great. Prices for the quality, quantity and service are very reasonable. Do note their lunch menu is only for weekdays. Plenty of parking. Easy to get to in Knightdale. TIP: pay attention for Triangle Restaurant Week. We didn't utilize it this time, but the deal was phenomenal!

Yelp
This was my first time eating here. Very nice clean well run restaurant. I was in town getting some work done and was recommended that I try this place. I ordered the country style steak with mashed potatoes and it was absolutely amazing. Best I can remember having. My buddy got the same thing. It was well worth the price. Service was very good too. No complaints from me. Will go back next time I'm in town
google avatar

Allan A.

Yelp
The pros- they take advance reservations, place is hugely popular, Nadine our server was fantastic, bread tasty, baked potato perfectly cooked. Whiskey and coke perfectly mixed. The cons- very noisy, ask for a booth that helps. The grilled chicken was overcooked. I actually had a hard time cutting it. Oscar filet was ordered medium well but came medium rare. When returned it was messy and the person who ordered it was disappointed with the crab. It is clear they have a good following but our entrees were lacking for us.

Yelp
We were a party of 10. The server was good, but he really could not get the food to us..we waited. the manager came and apologized for the food being over 40 minutes late...the orders started arriving, not all at once (2-3 minutes in between) my steak was warm to cold and dry. The kids macaroni is terrible! Order the adult instead, it's better. At the end no offer to reduce the bill or at least desert on the house for the terrible "dining" experience! The restaurant looks like it's been beaten with an ugly stick. Terrible! I've been to those in Texas and they are way better in every aspect. I don't believe this store has been visited by a member of their main offices in years.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Yawn. Oh, was that dinner? Pretty mediocre strip, no seasoning, texture like it was once frozen. Sides are good if you're 12, nothing inventive here. Brussels sprouts had candy on them. Service was kind but too slow for the workload. Prices are higher than better alternatives. Pretty sure the "bacon" on the wedge is cooked and dried in a factory. But, such is Chaindale.

Yelp
Another successful visit to Saltgrass for a 40th birthday celebration! We were seated very quickly and our waitress Cheyenne came shortly after. Cheyenne was the sweetest...very attentive and she gave my daughter a sticker which I thought was a nice touch since kids can get antsy having to wait. She kept me informed on my order and made sure we had refills, etc. We ordered the fried pickles and they were very good and had a little kick to them. Not overly fried or greasy. For my entree I ordered Pat's Ribeye with a loaded baked potato and a garden salad. The birthday boy ordered the Classic Steak and shrimp with fries and chicken tortellini soup. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger (no bun) with broccoli. Everything came out hot and fresh. At the end of the meal of course the little one got a sundae! If you ever stop in be sure to ask for Cheyenne! We will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Took my mom here for her birthday, she has always talked about the location in Texas. The place is nice and big, and it was packed for a Thursday. I made reservations and we were promptly seated. Our waitress was nice, but not on her game. She asked for our drink orders and didn't ask if we wanted an appetizer. I thought that was customary, we start with the brisket queso, and I ordered a beer and my mom got a mixed drink. We then had to ask to place the order for dinner. I had the ribeye with salad Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. The only thing hot was the steak. I then noticed everyone beside us had fresh pepper from their server placed on the salad, our waitress offered none. I then went to find my waitress and explained that it was my mom birthday and add a piece of carrot cake to go, you know a surprise. She brings the carrot cake to the table and announces here is the carrot cake! My mom ordered the t bone, salad and mac and cheese. I will say the mac and cheese was great, but I packed much of all my food to heat up at home. I'm not sure I would try them again, unless my mom wants to go, and I doubt that she stated it wasn't as good as the one in Texas

Yelp
While eating a roach crawled out in front of me. I have never experienced anything like this. We immediately alerted the server she. Called for the manager. The manager walked up scoped the roach and kept walking like this a daily thing. Our meal was comped of course. I'm definitely reporting this to the health department.

Zachary W.

Yelp
The service was okay, the young lady did her best but she was overworked. There were 3 employees in the corner typing on their phones the whole time and not helping her. The food was terrible. Tough and stringy sirloin and an undercooked baked potato. Save your money, go to Texas Roadhouse.
google avatar

Ann B.

Yelp
I love Saltgrass. The steaks are perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The baked potatoes are always good, not dried out and the salad is fresh. I love the fried mushroom appetizer! For the dessert, the carrot cake cannot be beat! It's the best I have ever eaten! We go about once a month, join Landry's and you earn points as well as other perks like priority seating!
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
We walked out! First let me say that the decor is very pretty. It looks like a steakhouse in Texas with deer heads and country decor throughout (including the meat wall of wines as you enter). And it seems clean. We were advised that there was a 1.5 hour wait (it's Saturday 5:30pm). Ok it's long but there are comfortable benches inside and some things are worth the wait. The hosts were very rude and rolled their eyes when we said we're ok to wait. Within 10-15 minutes of waiting, we see about 5 employees come huddle behind the hosts and look at their iphones and giggling while some tables are emptying from customers leaving. I'm not a restaurant owner, so I don't know how things work behind doors, but with staff acting like that in the front of the restaurant, I'm going to leave and take my business elsewhere. We left.

David A.

Yelp
The food there was very tasty, and the wait staff took good care of us while we were there. The ambiance was not bad either.

Jonathan A.

Yelp
Went over here on my lunch break, and I highly recommend this place. I don't believe there's any other Salt Grass Steakhouse in the Raleigh area. I spoke with the floor manager John! Great guy great conversation was very welcoming my waitress as well was very welcoming. My T-bone came out exactly how I ordered it. Most of the time they'll overcook it at other steakhouses. I recommend this place especially if you're in the area.
google avatar

Renea S.

Yelp
Service was excellent, food was hot to order and very tasteful. The waitress greeted us with a smile and very professional and clean restaurant, I will be coming back!!!!!

Yelp
Visited her a few weeks ago, stayed for dinner. It was raining so it wasn't much of a rush but the service was great ! It was my first time there and I loved the bread, the dinner rolls were amazing. All the food that I had was amazing but I did have the tacos to go and to be fair, they were delicious but they were also very spicy which I didn't expect . The ambiance was nice, it definitely gives southern steakhouse and the waitress was really nice.

Bruce U.

Yelp
It was good. The burger had decent flavor and the fries too. The rest of the meal landed in the middle. The nachos were fine and the cheese was mild. The service moved ok, but the staff was friendly. The price was ok. I left satisfied, but not eager to rush back.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
My Favorite Restaurant hands down! My hubby and I love the delicious food, exceptional service and the atmosphere is always the best,

A B.

Yelp
We ordered a steak medium rare and we got one that was overcooked and burnt. They also gave us a whole potato with nothing on it when we ordered a loaded potato. Definitely don't recommend this place.

Joya D.

Yelp
First time eating in and had a wonderful experience, from the hostess to the manager. I had Gabe as a waiter and he was amazing, timely, and a great server. The best to you!
google avatar

Phil S.

Yelp
I was there several months ago but the wait was not very long. My steak was tender. Our server did a good job of keeping our soft drinks refilled. The memorabilia on the wall made it interesting to look around.
google avatar

Ted G.

Yelp
It may be Salt Grass Steak House on the outside, but the inside is still screaming Lone Star Steak House. The least they could do is put some effort into the interior decor and at least patch the holes in the walls, I am not sure where the profits from the higher than normal priced steaks are going, obviously they are not going back into the dining experience. They do serve some hearty appetizers, the queso fresco comes with a lot of chips and SODIUM, but not much brisket. This one will definitely keep you running back to the bar! I was a bit disappointed in the chuck wagon cheese fries as I was expecting actual fries, not potato wedges. But if you insist on serving potato wedges instead of fries, might I recommend an oil salt and smoked paprika bath to give them some flavor? Cheese and bacon can only do so much for plain potatoes! I felt they served a good steak and controlled the temperature well, but why would any steakhouse that takes pride in their meat serve A1 steak sauce? Instead of slapping yourself in the face, why not serve a house Bearnaise to compliment the meat rather than soiling it. The staff are great and they do travel off the beaten path to provide a good experience. They have an active following in Knightdale, make sure to call ahead for reservations if you plan to dine out. Cheers!

Paul L.

Yelp
Server was excellent - Surprisingly good ribs here. Fried mozzarella good Soup and salad , nice portions. Wish the NC menu had selections from other states - quail ??? Really? No chicken tenders on NC menu- Wish there was a location closer , we were in knightdale on a Sunday - and everything else was closed.

Yelp
Arrived at opening to a beautifully decorated but empty restaurant that filled quickly. Our waitress, Nadine, was a joy and so very helpful. She made some great recommendations such as the range rattlers and even the flash fried Brussel sprouts. We ordered the Range Rattlers, Wagon Boss Center Cur Sirlon Steaks (10 oz), Smoked Macaroni and Cheese, and Chicken Tortilla Soup. As per suggestion, we also ordered a side of Brussel Sprouts to split. Everything was wonderful and worth the trip. We told Nadine why we came, and this was the primary destination of a multi day road trip. Delia, the manager, even stopped by and thanked us for making the trip. With terrific food and amazing staff, this is a definite location to visit. Even though it is over a six hour drive, I thought it was worth the time.

Mark Bash H.

Yelp
Long time listener first time caller. We have heard great things about Saltgrass and finally had the opportunity to try it out for lunch. Can't wait to come back. Great lunch specials. They were super attentive to get our food out quick. And the Pumpkin cheesecake is to die for. If you are looking for a new place with great eats dont sleep on this place. Insider secret... ask to sit in Laurie's section. She is the best.
google avatar

Yolanda S.

Yelp
Suly was amazing, funny attentive, and made our dinner experience. Our meal was great, but even if it wasn't Suly's service and hospitality we would of not even cared.

Debbe B.

Yelp
Food is good, but understaffed. THE wait time to be seated is a turn off. We always turn away and go to a clayton or garner steakhouses where food is excellent and usually not much wait time.
google avatar

Reena V.

Yelp
I visited the restaurant on a Saturday night. It was packed and busy. I'm so glad I made reservations online. The waitress was nice and attentive. I don't remember her name. I ordered the ribs and they were delicious. My friend ordered the Oscar salmon and she said it was delicious and her favorite item on the menu. Another friend ordered a steak topped with shrimp. The rolls with the cinnamon butter were also delicious. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other items.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
This might not be fair, but I'm going to say this - not just for Saltgrass, but any restaurant. When a person says "party of one," don't ask if they want to sit at the bar. If they wanted to sit at the bar, they'd ask. Don't try to place them at a high-top table at the bar. And if booth tables are available, allow them to sit at one. I was a party of one today because my husband died unexpectedly last summer from a brain aneurysm. I shouldn't have to explain that to be treated with the same courtesy as more than one person. I'm very tired of hearing "just three," when I go out with my children. I don't dine alone for the very fear of what happened to me here today. Where I have to plead for a normal table so I can have someone else cook my lunch, and a rare moment being responsibility-free while my kids are at activities. Please train your employees to stop using "just" and please don't force me to explain "look my husband died. I wish I weren't by myself" as you try to seat me somewhere unpleasant. Picture is of the terrible table, where I got to see multiple tables staring at me (there were empty booths when I arrived, but I didn't want to continue conversing with the hostess at this point).

Yelp
10/16/22: My boyfriend had a gift card to use that he had for awhile, so I helped him use it after church. :) We had never been here before. They have steaks and yeast rolls, so you can't really go wrong, right. We ordered country fried steak and mashed potatoes, soup, salad, and a grilled chicken meal. My country fried steak had a somewhat spicy coating on it. I absolutely hated the gravy. It was creamy sausage gravy. I don't like sausage in it. It totally messed up my tastebuds. I ended up giving that to my boyfriend. The server was pretty nice. He wasn't that attentive after our food was brought to us, but he was initially nice. Had he come back, I would've sent that steak back. It sat there and got cold, so my boyfriend just took it to go. He is kind of like Mikey from the old cereal commercials back in the day. He eats anything. I won't say I'd never go back. I will just say it would be my very last choice.

Maydell M.

Yelp
Saltgrass used to be one of my favorites since moving to North Raleigh. Lately, I've been checking restaurant scores because cleanliness and food safety have become a concern. For Mother's Day, I made reservations to avoid the usual long wait. While waiting, my daughter noticed their 92% score, up from 88%. Despite mixed reviews, I convinced my family to stay. Unfortunately, their food arrived cold on a hot plate, while mine, my husband's, and my granddaughter's were fine. The server quickly took the cold meals back, and the manager apologized, promising to fix the issue. I won't return until their score improves.

Robyn P.

Yelp
Good and service were great as always. Never disappoints always consistently great. Always our go to

Yelp
I finally had a steak salad that was tender, flavorful and delicious. I really enjoyed it!!

Zach M.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants! The food is amazing and the restaurant has the classic western style that I love each time I visit. Highly recommend!

Jacqueline W.

Yelp
The food was delicious and our hostess, BREE, was amazing and super kind to us. However, I demanded to see a manger and Amanda came right way! LOL I just wanted to let her know how amazing BREE is and that our experience was great! Oh and Amanda has a great sense of humor! WE HAD GREAT BOOTH SEATS AND THE LIGHTING WAS COZY

Tearany M.

Yelp
We had a great experience and wonderful dinner. Gabe was an excellent server and it was our pleasure to be seated in his section.

Yelp
Our server, Lonnie, was very cool and is keeping this from being a 3 star review. We had a 6:30 reservation and were sat on the dot. We were greeted immediately by Lonnie and ordered waters and cocktails. She was very busy and it took a while for her to get our orders in, but we saw her working and it was ok. Our salads beat the cocktail to the table though, and that was a bit sad...6:56 when it arrived :-( The bread was good but the butter was a bit weird. Baked potato was excellent, but the broccoli was undercooked. One steak was slightly overcooked - not enough to send back, and the other was very overcooked. The replacement took a long time to get there, and the manager was clearly busy upon dropping it off. I just kept it, but it was not better than the first. The actual taste and flavor of both steaks were excellent though. I'd love to have this same ribeye at the correct temperature. As Knightdale is a 30 minute drive and we were just looking to try something different, I doubt we return. Too many nice places in between here and there that are proven. If we do though, I will definitely call ahead and see if Lonnie is working! (also worth a shout out is the hostess, who stopped what she was doing mid-sentence to greet us and get us seated immediately upon arrival)
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
I have been to Saltgrass now on three different occasions, the first two times the food was really delicious! I ordered the ribeye all three times and the first two times the ribeye was tender and very flavorful. But this last time the ribeye had very little flavor, it seemed like it didn't have hardly any fat in it which would explain why it didn't have any flavor. The fat that it did have was hard and gristly which is nothing like I've experienced with ribeyes before. I don't like to make accusations but it seems like they are trying to pass off another cut of meat as a ribeye. Either that or they just screwed up. I didn't mention it to the server but maybe I should have?

Marie B.

Yelp
I just wish it was more consistent. Sometimes the food is tasty, sometimes it's inedible. Sometimes you get bread, sometimes they don't offer that for to go orders. Sometimes you order a potato and get butter, sour cream, bacon bits and cheddar, sometimes you get a potato. On calling, they got really busy and that's on them. My parsnips remain unbuttered.

Rafael O.

Yelp
Suly was absolutely amazing. Charming fun and most of all a great server! Will be back soon!
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
Anyone else feels like this is an extremely overpriced Sizzler? So I get a lunch portion of 1/2 rack of ribs @ $18.99 and paid an up-charge for a loaded bake potato @ $2.49, it was a to-go order ... I got 10 strands of cheddar cheese, no butter, which I asked for extra butter over the phone when I ordered, green onions, sour cream and bacon bits, fine but no butter?? A coworker picked up the order ... the ribs, all fatty and more BBQ sauce on the bottom, the part you don't eat (membrane) than on the top, the meat is absolute crap, what meat there was ... I'm so dissatisfied and annoyed at their prices for what is going out the door ... many times before, we've eaten lunch there and it's always just a shit-show ... the kicker is I am not a picky person! I don't get the hype ... save your money people ... so many other affordable options with better quality ...

Yelp
Without the great server, Sheresa, the rating would be very low. The place was not crowded at 6pm but the place was very understaffed. It took over an hour to actually get our meal. The server was very attentive and brought us more bread and kept us updated with them waiting for another chef. The food was good when we did get it and we were embarrassed for the server. She kept us updated and we enjoyed each other so we weren't in a hurry but sitting people when they didn't have the staff, or updating the customer before they would be seated would have been much appreciated. Thank you Sheresa!

Stacey W.

Yelp
Our server, Araceli, was amazingly attentive, answered questions, and made sure all our needs were taken care of! The food was the best I have had in a very long time. Whatever you order, add the Oscar topping! It's a meal in itself. Can't wait to go back and now that I joined the Landry's club, I've got lots of reasons! See you soon!

Yelp
I was very happy to find a Saltgrass location close to my hotel when I was working in the area. I brought one of my coworkers with me for dinner. We were seated promptly. Our server, Jessica, was excellent. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, and also our meals. She spaced everything out very well, allowing us enough time to finish our fried mushroom appetizer before bringing our soup and salad. She kept an eye on our beverages and brought us refills when our glasses were half empty, which was appreciated. I had the baked potato soup, and it was savory and delicious. My coworker had a house salad and it looked fresh and crisp. My grilled salmon was perfectly cooked, baked potato was excellent too. My coworker was very happy with his steak and asparagus. Food and service couldn't have been better. An excellent experience!

Janet C.

Yelp
Our server, Leah, was delightful. She was humorous and attentive. Definitely the highlight of our experience. Our food was ok. Steaks cooked to the correct temperature with seasoning but the quality of the meat was not the best. Fried shrimp were ok. I forgot to ask for my dressing on the side of my salad, so it came already dressed which luckily was not swimming in the blue cheese dressing and was pretty good. The barrel aged Manhattan my husband ordered was not good, they added Bénédictine to the mix which made the drink taste off. The restaurant itself was dirty and outdated. All the knickknacks and walls have not been cleaned in some time. It was a holiday, so perhaps the floor had not gotten the attention it deserves but, in general, carpeted flooring gets unclean quickly in a restaurant. Overall, it's a chain restaurant and it's about what you would expect of it.
