Saltgrass Steak House

Had Father’s Day lunch at Saltgrass. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat us anyway. Food was very good but the highlight of our meal was our waitress. As absolute great person who was very attentive and very friendly. She absolutely made our meal enjoyable. Other employees could learn from this young lady. By the way her name was Marissa. When we go back we will ask for her. Five star waitress.

Seated quickly for 7:00pm Saturday and busy. Waitstaff was excellent. Friendly, quick, and very courteous. And I’m saying they were all friendly. The food was excellent. Tasty and very affordable. My hubby had steak-which he enjoyed and I got a brisket burger that was awesome. Great atmosphere.

Lexie, our server was very polite and kind so we were able to enjoy the meal. I ordered the Texas T-bone Steak. It was very tender and delicious.

We had a great waiter, Shawn. He answered all our questions and made recommendations. I had the chopped steak with mushrooms and onions, mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. To top it off we split a strawberry cheesecake. Nice and smooth, not too sweet. Excellent. Thank you Shawn for excellent service along with the rest of the crew.

Upon arriving to the restaurant we we're not greeted when we arrived and hostess stood there when she saw us arrive after couple in front of us. We where finally seated the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink she gave us the drink menu. She left and said that she was going to be ourserver she never came back we sat there for about 5 to 10 minutes waiting on someone to serve us which is not good customer service. When we finally got someone to serve us he indicated that he thought someone else was waiting on us. He took our drink orders brought them back and took our order for our meal. The food was excellent steak cooked and season to perfection.

01/01/2024 I ordered a cheese burger with sweet potato fries, it took some time to get it, I had to take medication so I really couldn'twait another 25-30 minutes to order another one ... well the pictures speak for themselves 🔥 🔥 🔥 I told the waiter and he apologized and said I'm going to take it off the bill which wasn't my intention but when I got the bill there was only military discount .... but the burger was still there.... anyways ! I just left it like that because I wasn't trying to get a refund. I just took the letuce and and cut around the burnt meat. My point is before you serve food, ask yourself would I eat this myself? The fries need some nutrients lol this tells me that inflation is really bad they are so thin I feel like I'm eating toothpicks with sweet potato flavor. This is the 4th time eating in this place the food quality has gone down A LOT! The last 2 times I've been here, I'm definitely not coming back. Update... The food gave us a stomachache and diarrea.

First time here, and I enjoyed it. We had a large group, but they did a good job with the service. The food was great too! Their macaroni and cheese is to die for! And my steak was perfect. I like it well done. The cook knew how to do it because it was juicy and not burnt. I would definitely go back!

Omgd I love this place. Best strawberry lemonade hands down. I always get the seafood fondue and ribeye steak.

From the beginning it has been above customer service. Last year for my bday I went to Saltgrass in Biloxi, Ms. I raved about the overwhelming experience there On this bday, I went to Saltgrass on Veteransl Blvd in New Orleans. Allow me to digress. Saltgrass host a club. For $25 you get great perks. I have been a member for over 10 years and everyyear during the 45 day bday period, I eat at Saltgrass, free as a club member. On this occasion they could not look me up. I have a twin who is also in the club. Before I ordered I asked the check. My waitress said I was not in the system for bday points. My twin confirmed she had not used it Along comes Nicole who asked pointed question and really cared about my situation. She went above and beyond and found I was in the system. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly I order a Ceasar salad with baked sweet potato. It was accompanied by the salmon Oscar. The salmon sat on deep fried asparagus and topped with crabmeat and more. Just amazing. Food, service and great people The moral of my story is get the membership Landry's Select card. It is affiliated with some great restaurants and more. One year I used it at Morton Steak house.

My wife and I came in for an early dinner this past Saturday and we will definitely be coming back. It was clean and the service was pleasantly quick for how full they looked. Our server was sweet and she cared about making our night special. Our food wasn't exactly right when it first came out and she was just so understanding and actually wanted to help make things right without any complaints about the situation, she apologized and got our food out hot fast and delicious!! Maddie is a fantastic server and her management staff just as well. Thank you saltgrass for an evening of delight.

We ordered the brisket queso, ribeye and wagon steak cuts, cranberry salads and an assortment of to-go orders. The steak cuts were juicy and tender and the sides were decent enough but the real winner was the brisket queso that contained multitudes of smoky brisket meat and spicy cheese layers. That said, our overall dining experience left a lot to be desired: Our waiter kept forgetting to bring us things--like side salads and lemons--and seemed to be generally overwhelmed and flustered by the number of people that he had to wait on. He also got half of the to-go order wrong so we had to wait an additional eight minutes for the right food to arrive. I also noticed that his brow was sweaty, he smelled of marijuana and he appeared to be actively shaking. We all felt sorry for him as he seemed like a genuinely good guy who had just never waited on so many tables before, but unfortunately the experience was not a particularly pleasant one. 5/10 Maybe just order their takeout (and check it twice) or avoid the dinnertime rush altogether.

i went to the Metairie, La location, and Cameron was my server. From the moment I sat down and he approached the table, he was professional with a sense of humor. I will definitely ask to be seated in his section the next time I visit. The ambience was nice and relaxing. I have the Texas TBone, Brussel Sprouts and a wedge salad, and everything was cooked to perfection. Thank you for a great birthday experience!

I absolutely love Saltgrass! My favorite drink is in the picture, the frozen Rose' Rita. My favorite appetizer is the Range Rattlers. They are spicy, with fresh shrimp, cheese, breaded and deep fried. They are served with french fried onion rings. They have a great Happy Hour, perfect for a cozy dinner, or large party. Definitely recommend!

The food was good! We had the complimentary bread loaf and butter , two people in our party got salmon , my brother got the Wagyu steak , mom got the country fried steak , my son got the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon , my husband got the Wagon boss center cut filet , and I got the chopped steak with button mushrooms and onion gravy with fried onions . We also got the queso with brisket appetizer with tortilla strips . A few minor issues with food like there was the tiniest bit of sour cream for our giant baked potatoes, the sauce for the fried onions was a bit overwhelming (added a little mayo and it was fine), and the salads had a bit too much dressing. The fried onions (onion rings) were awesome-so crispy and generous portion size! The country fried steak was very big and crispy with a yummy white sausage gravy (only $18.99!). The chopped steak and gravy was huge and well seasoned (only $17.49!). The salmon looked pretty plain-just the salmon steak and whatever side you ordered, but they said it was good ($22.99 ). Our waitress started out fine, but tended to disappear for most of the meal. She took our drink orders, but didn't ask about appetizers. We had to flag her down for more sour cream and mayo. She rarely checked our drinks. Then, we asked for to go boxes, but she never asked us how we wanted our checks split. After bringing to go boxes twice, she asked us if we wanted desserts. We declined. She walked away. Then, we asked her to bring us our checks -10 minutes later . Then, she took two of our payments, but didn't wait another minute for the third payment! It was Father's Day, so we expected it to be crowded, but we made reservations a week in advance and still had to wait more than 10 minutes for our table. Also, it was very, very noisy. Oh, by the way, cold drinks are $3.29!!!! I won't hurry back, I prefer Texas Roadhouse.

The steak salad is the best! So filling and very yummy. Steak is buttery and so good!

Saltgrass was typical "chain" steakhouse fare. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. The sides are also what you would typically find in a steakhouse. The asparagus seemed over cooked. The sweet potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes were "ok". The carrot cake was good, but again, not anything super special. We had excellent and attentive service. I don't know that I would have gone if I had realized it was a chain steakhouse. I doubt I will go back because I could have gone to an independently owned, specialty steakhouse for about the same price. I don't even have a picture to share because it just wasn't that special of a meal.

Our experience was ok. We went on a Saturday night. It was the normal 20 min wait, no biggie... but just to set the tone. We ordered 6 oz Filets, each coming with a side and salad. I substituted my salad for a side of broccoli and we shared a wedge salad. The salad was delicious. And the loaf of bread with butter was so good! Unfortunately when we got our filets, my husband's was way undercooked. He is not one to complain, so he ate it, but our waiter who was understandably consumed with a very needy 10 top did not check on how our steaks were cooked until we were halfway done. We had also ordered a topping for each of our steaks and neither came with it. So they were brought out separate after we made the waiter aware. The place was very nice as far as the ambiance. It had a great western feel with big Buffalo heads up on the wall and chandeliers made with horns.... Pretty cool.

Amazing service! Our waitress Elise was so sweet and very attentive! Food was delicious as always! Me and my family always came here for any special occasion and it's always so much fun!

I love steaks so I will try almost any restaurant that serves steaks. My expectations were pretty high as this was my first time here and it is called a steak house. I usually love most steak houses as that is what they specialize cooking. I ordered the Pat's 12oz ribeye. Visually it was not appealing as the steak was a thin cut. I prefer my steaks cut to about 1 1/2" thick. Thickness does matter! I also like my steaks medium rare so about 130 degrees. I will say that the steak was cooked to the correct temp that I requested but the flavor of the steak was not there. Service and atmosphere were just fine. Just wish the steaks were better at this steak house.

We had 50 for dinner and there were five amazing selections. For this crowd the service was top notch and the western ambience was perfect. We had carrot cake and cheese cake for desert and it was awesome. Highly recommended regardless of party size.

Saltgrass had an amazing atmosphere and I will be coming back plenty of times again! Cameron was our server, he was nothing short of perfection! We never waited for anything besides the food, which was WORTH the wait! I cannot get over this experience! Cam deserves a raise!

The food and service from MISS GINNY were spectacular! Everything is made fresh and the ceaser salad was to die for (y'all need to try it if you love ceaser, the sauce is fresh and tastes uniquely delicious) I also had the patty melt and it was spectacular, melted in you mouth and made me want more!

My parents kept raving about how good saltgrass was and how I really needed to check it out when I was in town. So my parents and my older brother came for a weekend visit. It was around 7 pm on a Saturday evening . Since it was 4 of us we had to wait a few minutes for a larger table to clear. After being seated we were given menus and waited on by one waitress who was not our actual waitress, she took the drink order. Another waitress came by but she was not our waitress either. Our actual waitress it was only her second day and she was super busy!! We put in an order for the queso with brisket and ordered our meals. With my steak came a house salad with ranch. My brother and dad had the potato soup and they enjoyed it, my mom had soup and salad (her favorite). My salad was fresh and the ranch was delicious. The appetizer came out minutes before the meal but it was good. The brisket was a tad too salty got my taste but the queso was solid. I had the breaux bridge sirloin which was cooked medium perfectly, and the sweet potato fries which were ok. The meal was very filling. The noise level was pretty loud and I felt like I could barely hear my parents across the table, the restaurant is pretty large and a little on the darker side. All that being said I'd probably come back to try some of the other steaks on the menu.

Great drinks. Great variety for Happy Hour. Very engaging bartenders/servers. They are attentive and very comfortable in their roles. Ricki was amazing. She had a very warm personality and constantly checked on the people in her area while making sure drink orders were ready to go for servers. Stop in and say hi to her. You won't regret it...

From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we were on our way out the door we truly were treated like a King & Queen. Thanks to our waitress Daya she was so awesome with showing us some of the best dishes to taking our orders. Thanks for such a great experience. If you stop in ask for Daya she is superb..... Perfect steak and got exactly what I ordered, also good service and speed. I had the queso fresco with brisket for the appetizer, and it was also very good.

The service and food were excellent. Blake is one of the best servers and has made the experience an excellent one.

Saltgrass is a chain and normally I don't eat at chains but every now and then I do and was pleasantly surprised by the service and food quality with a good price point especially with minions. Everything was good, we had steak and the service was great and good with the kids as well. The place has the ambiance of a Texas steakhouse, which the kids loved. Drink up my friends!

Group of 8, who was served by our waiter Blake who was fantastic! He was very accommodating and such a great personality. We were from GA so he gave us great recommendations on some places to try and visit while we are in NOLA. Food was very good and drinks were delicious. We tried fried pickles, cheese sticks, steak, crab cakes, chicken fried chicken which all were great. Pineapple margarita recommended by Blake was also great. Overall great atmosphere, food, and workers, especially Blake!

Started off with the Queso w/ brisket, super good! Couldn't stop eating it. Went ahead and ordered the I think 12 oz New York Strip cooked medium (cooked perfect) and fries, you get the choice of soup or salad. I personally didn't care for my Caesar's salad while my brother loved it. Like I said the steak was cooked just great and so tender and good. Fries were perfect as well, the bread is I wouldn't even bother trying it. Pretty nice facility they're running, with great friendly staff. Bill was $49 for the app and entree, and drink of course, but I do recommend for any occasion

This place was definitely a great experience!! My friend and I were happy to enjoy quality food and memorable service with such great hospitality. You literally feel the love in this place down to the presentation, service, friendliness, and laughs and my amazing server Cam brought this whole experience to life!!!

Great food, good service. Lexi was a great server and had awesome recommendations. She even got my daughter to come out her shell and speak up to order her own food, lol.

Took my wife to this steak house for our anniversary. Not much of a steak guy myself, but the appetizers were on point. The real thing that sold me on this place was our server. Cameron Clark was fast, charismatic, mindful and just an absolute delight. Great appetizers, good enough steaks and a slam dunk of a server! Cameron Clark!!!

Really tasty ribeye and Mac and cheese. Service was really good as well. Cameron did a wonderful job making us feel welcome.

We had a wonderful experience for our family get together. The server, Cameron, was friendly and attentive to our group. He had great recommendations when we ordered and checked back when we got our food. We had a good size table for all the plates and drink and enjoyed the happy chatter around us. We will definitely come back.

Rushed! I was eating my appetizer and brought my salad out! Then before I finished both they brought my steak out and it wasn't cooked the way I ordered! They sold me a bottle of wine, they threw it in a bottle holder and left me to pour my own! I'm s Landry's member who was there for my birthday reward. What a kraphole! Don't go there. You will thank me. And, with the prices rushed waitress got zero tip.

The food and ambiance of this restaurant exceeded expectations. The pork baby back ribs were perfectly cooked - tender and flavorful; the chicken tortilla soup was excellent. Our server Raquel was helpful, friendly, yet unobtrusive, and actually enhanced the dining experience. We would definitely return.

I want to not like Saltgrass, but that is not relevant. But the service is good, everything is neat and clean, the decor is nice, the food is good. There is plenty of parking. The queso was good for the appetizer, but the chips could have used at least a hint of salt. The grilled salmon was very good and the Mac and Cheese was amazing.

Service was great, but the time it took to get food was ridiculous appetizer was doughy and soggy. Steak was very fatty. .

Food was ok. They ran out of large, cold beer glasses but still served beer in the large glasses; therefore I received two warm beers. For the price of the food, and the quality, I would not return.

Don't get me wrong, the food was amazing. My issue why I won't recommend this place to anyone or every come back to this location is because they employees. You can smell the weed ( marijuana) on them strongly and they must allow their employees to consume alcohol while working. I came a few days ago with a group of 6 and everyone of us was able to tell they were drunk and high. Just disgusting to have that type of establishment at a high dollar good steak house

Amazing Mother's Day lunch for mom. I had reservations for 12:30 we were seated at about 12:15pm. The hostess was so amazing and personable. She had the most friendly smile throughout the experience. Even when we left she asked was everything ok. Our waiter Nancey was the best. She was so polite and helpful. We didn't have to ask for anything, she was on it. This was my mom's first time at saltgrass and she really enjoyed her food and the atmosphere. This time I tried the ribs but I still got those delicious shrimp on the side. My ribs was so tender and the potatoes was creamy as well.

If I could give zero I would! Terrible food, terrible service and terrible ambiance. What a total crap restaurant. The only good point was our awesome busboy Andrew! absolute credit to the restaurant!

This places really cares about its customers. 100% recommend you go there and enjoy a fantastic meal.

Gotta food poisoning at saltgrass. Me and my mom have some severe diarrhea. Right after a little after we eat their food.

Overall good experience for my first time here. Your typical steakhouse restaurant similar to the Outbacks or even Roadhouses, but a but more on the pricier side. Server Jacob was very attentive and prompt with bussing table throughout. Starting out with bread and butter which was pretty fair for a little appetizer. Also order the queso dip and fried pickles for added starters. The fried pickles were a bit on the soft side wishing they were more crunchier. My party enjoyed the queso and chips which we would probably order again. The Nashville Hot chicken was pretty good, but I wished it was more on the spicier side. My son and I agreed that it was not spicy at all, but was prepared well with fresh, crunchy fries. My daughter had Mac and cheese which look like it came from the kraft box, but hey, she enjoyed it. The chicken fried chicken had a mild sourness, but I don't think it was the white gravy which was odd. Finished off with a chocolate cake and ice cream which the cake was very decadent and moist. The ice cream was also soft which paired nicely with the cake. Overall, i'd come back to try other things on the menu and for the good service.

The queso was delicious as an appetizer. Caesar salad was so fresh and the croutons were perfectly crispy. The filet mignon was a perfect medium rare. Social distancing was in full effect and I so appreciate our server Lacey who was so wonderful and personable.

We just had lunch here. We had a fantastic waiter named Connor who provided great service with just the right amount of attention. I had the Maudeens filet and my dining companion had the chicken fried steak. Both were great. We would return based on this experience.

The food was not great. I had the Gulf Coast steak and grilled shrimp which was tough to eat and even to cut. I couldn't even eat it because I would still be there now chewing and it's a few days later if I continued. the shrimp was okay but nothing special. I also had a loaded baked potato. Can't really mess that up. Another in my group had chicken fried chicken which seemed to be alright. Someone had Pat's ribeye which was much, much better and actually decent. Another had the BBQ ribs but wasn't able to finish due to them being mostly fat. The other person in my group had fried shrimp which I tried and they were underwhelming but edible. Two had macaroni and cheese which was cold. I know not to order macaroni and cheese at places like this because it's not what I'm used to but cold is unacceptable. Two of us had cocktails which were on point. I got cheesecake for dessert and it was really good. A huge piece that was so huge, I had some left over and ate it the following day. Our server, a gentleman whose name I don't recall was excellent. No problems, only compliments on the service. I won't need to go back as I can find better tasting food for less money and any number of places.

Although my first time coming here I would have to say that this is one of my favorite steak houses ever. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the Mac and cheese was delicious! Everything was reasonably priced and the service was impeccable. 5 stars all around!

The food and the service was superior. It is a little hard to find but well worth it. Kirk was our waiter and he was great. Will go back when in Shreveport.

Our server Erica was beyond perfect!!!! She was extremely attentive to the T, extremely family oriented with service, as well as very comforting in any miscommunication. The food was pretty great, my steak was awesome. And the drinks were good for me (Boulavardier and Barrel Aged Manhattan), my boyfriend just wanted his mule to have more ginger beer.

I really enjoyed this place! The restaurant has a great southern decor going on and it really transports you there upon entry. We ordered a steak and lobster and we're not disappointed. Cooked to perfection, no rubbery texture at all, literally the lobster was like butter. The steak was also perfect. Even the starter bread! Very well done, great service, great food, great atmiosphere. Highly recommend!

Loved the Melted Cheese with shrimp and crawfish. Of course, I came for a steak. Had the 16oz Ribeye medium to perfection just as a steakhouse would prepare it. Lindsey the waitress made our dinner experience a joyful one. Definitely this place is worth dining in at and deserves to be recommended. Without a doubt I'm now a regular customer after this visit.

Good. Great? No. But satisfying. I actually enjoy going because there is a lot on the menu. You do get a lot of food so that's definitely a plus. Good parking. Clean and well maintained. Nice family dinner place. You won't be disappointed.

Salt grass staff at the veterans location is one of the best I have came across in a long time. I received my drink quickly after I sat down and my waitress made sure I was taken care of at all times. The food was so delicious and didn't take long to be prepared. I wanna thank saltgrass for the wonderful service and the relaxing setting they provide. The manager, Mr. Derrick made sure to show his face at the table and ask around about how the service was in the restaurant to ensure the customers were satisfied. He asked if anything can be done to make service and satisfaction any better and I said no sir, service is beyond great just the way it is. Not many managers check on their customer the way they do there at salt grass. If you haven't been here it's a must. You will not be disappointed. I will be back.
