Saltgrass Steak House

Filet medium was perfect as it veers towards medium rare. It was fantastic. My wife tried the cheeseburger and said it was delicious. We shared a side of mushrooms because she loves them and they go so good with steak. We didn't save room for dessert this time, but next time we'll at least get some to go. Another couple sat down as we left and said they joined the club.

My wife and I ate dinner at the Mishawaka location on a Thursday. We arrived around 6 pm, and the place was already pretty busy. We were still seated quickly. Our table and seats were still slightly wet when they seated us. The restaurant, I felt was poorly lit. Our server Laz (I think that was his name), was great. Since we had never eaten there before, he took the time to explain several of the menu items and offered some recommendations. We opted for the Tenderloin starter (which was excellent). My wife ordered the soup and salad. I had a 12 oz Pat's Ribeye and added grilled shrimp to it, with a side of smoked mac & cheese. The complimentary bread was ok, but nothing either of us would crave. My wife said her salad was good and we both liked the loaded potato soup. I just wish it had larger potatoes in it (personal preference). I ordered my steak medium rare and it was cooked nicely and well seasoned. My grilled shrimp were well seasoned too, but sadly they were luke warm and it felt like they had been sitting around awhile. The mac & cheese was ok. I would not order it again. We had a carrot cake for dessert and it was really good. We would be willing to eat here again, just to try some other menu choices.

My daughter bought us a gift card and wow, was it delicious! Salad was crisp and cold, peach ice tea was amazing and the steak was perfectly cooked.

The food is usually of high quality. The service is normally above average. It is a louder environment but the decor and lighting are on point.

Think Texas Roadhouse + scratch kitchen. We had a friendly waiter and a good looking menu. Unfortunately, both steaks we ordered were both overcooked and were quite fatty cuts of meat. Those cuts were definitely not worth $35/steak, given the amount of veiny fat in them. Didn't bother asking for a change given the busyness of the restaurant. The portion size was good, and I enjoyed the sweet potato fries as a side. So, it was okay but overpriced for our experience.

First time having lunch at Saltgrass. Was greeted by the host and requested a table. Was given a table in the bar area. The server got the drink order and returned with drinks and a loaf of bread and some butter. Order from the lunch menu and chose the ribeye steak cooked rare the green beans and Ceasar salad. Everything was good. The steak was good, just like it should be. The green beans could have used some more seasoning like garlic, but that is just a preference. The server checked on us enough times to make sure all was good and didn't hover. Definitely Will be going back.

Went for dinner on Sunday 11/17. Food was delicious and service was amazing. I didnt get a picture but the cheese dip was phenomenal. I forgot our server’s name unfortunately, but he was awesome. He made sure we had everything we needed and our food came out perfectly. Really good service! Two managers came to check on us as well. You really don’t see that much anymore! We really enjoyed our experience, and we will be back. Thank you all for a nice night out :)

First timers... Food was really good and excellent service. Great portion sizes... Wish I would've had room for dessert!! Definitely going back soon.

Happy hour was awesome!! Great deals and good food! It was busy, but our server took good care of us. The ambiance was fun and upbeat!

This was my first visit to Saltgrass. Decor and ambiance were very nice - typical of a top notch steak house. My waitress was very attentive (more so than most places I have eaten at). I ordered the 12oz. ribeye cooked medium. It came to the table a perfect medium. However, the steak was much chewier than I expected - not at all tender. The manager offered to make me a new steak, but by then my mood was spoiled. I nibbled on the parts that were less tough and took the rest with me when I left. I threw the leftovers out later at home. The broccoli and the side salad were very good but the main course was a disappointment. I've had much better at Longhorn and Outback.

I've been sitting at the bar for 12 mins. I haven't even been offered a glass of water. She's waited both gentlemen next to me even brought one another glass of wine. I like Saltgrass din Texas but I will not return to this one.

Was at the restaurant recently, and excited about having a steak. The place was almost empty, but it took several minutes for the hostess to check for seating. We were seated by the bathroom, and when we asked to be moved, the waitress was extremely rude about it, but she could move us. She never came back. As we hadn't ordered yet, we left. Terrible service. We went to Longhorn and had a great experience.!

New to Mishawaka, a cut above the other chain steak houses. The service was great. Not only did our waitress take care of us but the manager and several others came by and checked on us and worked well together. The food was pretty good. Not as good as I remember from the saltgrass in Texas but definitely better than roadhouse and Logan. Have to say I was expecting slightly better. I got the ribeye bone in and it was pretty good and a health serving, along with the wedge salad and mashed potatoes. Wife got the filet. And the food was good. Just I guess I was expecting amazing. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a saltgrass from decor to how busy on the first week of opening. We'll have to go back in a few months and see if still keeping up the standard. Not the best steak in town but probably best value. They do have some good drinks and signature cocktails.

Amanda our server was the best! Competent, professional, attentive. We ordered filet medium but it came medium well and seemed tough. Amanda took our steaks back .. the replacement came with new sides as well as meat cooked as expected and very tender! Worth the wait

My party and I were seated by the restrooms. When we asked to be moved, we were told that our server only had tables in that area. When we decided to leave the restaurant altogether no one there was at all concerned with "customer satisfaction". We left without ordering and will NEVER return! We will be sure to tell everyone we know!

Food is great, but this is the most uncomfortable restaurant I've been in for years. Avoid busy hours. It's table maximized in a large room with a hardwood ceiling which makes it so loud you can't even hear your server.

This place was fantastic! It was definitely busy so come a bit on the earlier side. I sat at the bar top being served by one of the best bartenders I've encountered. Mia. Super entertaining, charismatic, and making jokes with other customers. Perfect. Also my dinner was very very delicious and I would highly recommend getting the steak with asparagus.

We visited, it was busy, we sat at bar. Had a wine and cocktail. Ordered steak- my husband had Ribeye and I had Filet, it was alright! Nothing spectacular that we couldn't do at home for a lot cheaper and definitely not as great as we have had at other restaurants. We both walked away and said Texas Road house is better and they have way better bread- was not impressed with the bread and butter at all here. We didn't get the hype. Nothing stood out different with their steaks, like a good charbroil, a great seasoning of their own- a butter topper--- nothing---so it was pretty basic! I would go back but try something else besides steaks off the menu next time, that's how unimpressed I was! Service seemed fine! We did notice the couple next to us had rare bloody steaks that they had asked for well done- hostess came and took them back!

I've gone to the Houston location and I knew what to expect and was not disappointed. Margarita, Ceasar salad, rattlers, and salmon. Superb service hot food and friendly staff!

The food was excellent. The portions were huge and delicious. The service was wonderful. All of our needs were met. Absolute Perfection. Ambiance was wonderful for a Monday afternoon during lunch. Awesome.

This was our first visit to Saltgrass Steak House. When we were shown to our table I noticed the decorations and ambiance. It was overwhelming but nice. However there was a very large steer head mounted on the wall near our table. It kept looking at me while I was eating. I felt the size and appearance of an animal which was providing the dinner meat was inappropriate at best and weird. Our waitress visited our table almost immediately with menus and water. The selection of dinners was good with, of course mostly steak dinners. However there was also chicken, various salads, as well as other entrees such as fish, and sides. I had the chicken Santa Fe with a cup of soup (salad was also a choice) and a loaded baked potato. The potato soup was delicious and thick, the baked potato was huge and not for somebody watching their weight, and the Chicken was excellent. A loaf of bread and butter was served prior to ordering and it was very tasty. Having said all of that, the pricing was higher than I expected. The noise level was very high which made it hard to have conversation, and the air conditioning was really cranked up which made it somewhat uncomfortable.

Service was fantastic and the food was great. We had the brisket queso and chips for an appetizer, it was great. We both had the 16oz. ribeye, cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. I had the fried onions for a side and I recommend it. My wife had the smoked mac and cheese and it was the only disappointment. It just wasn't good. She had a Texas tea for a mixed drink and it was the best long Island iced tea ever.

Tried this place for the first time, and we went with some friends, (4 adults and 1 toddler). Food took forever, and it wasn't that busy. Two meals had to be sent back, one undercooked and one cold. We definitely had a very bad experience.

This was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. I'm not sure if it was because it was the first month they were open, but this place operated like a well oiled machine and the staff made you feel like family. I had the Texas T-Bone which was amazing and cooked to perfection. We will 100% be back.

Date night meal. The food was good. It was steak house fine dining. The prices were really spendy, but the food wasn't really high end enough to justify it. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine. It just wasn't $75 for two people fine. We had a patty melt, brisket burger, fried pickles, and two mixed drinks. An Old-fashioned and a Southside 45. Drinks were mediocre and pretty watered down. The fried pickles were absolutely perfect. I really liked the deconstructed presentation of the patty melt. Made it feel fancy... but still it's just a steak house patty melt. No need to up price it so high.

The food was great and our steaks were done to perfection. This was my wife and I 's first time in this establishment and we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was still cozy even though they were packed on a Wednesday night. Prices were what we expected and for the quality of food, well worth it. We will return.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is really good and the weight staff is very friendly. When I went, I sat at the bar and ate dinner.

Want to celebrate saltgrass with the entire family for my sister's birthday. The food was some of the best we've had in Mishawaka. And beyond that, our server Christian was absolutely wonderful! He was very attentive and made sure everything was done properly and that we had a great experience.

We went to Saltgrass on 03/27 expecting a great meal for my son in law's birthday. service was good very nice waitress, but the place was so loud we could not carry on a conversation. our salad was good but when our 6 oz filet came three of us had them two were so cold the butter on top would not melt at all. The sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese were also cold. we told our waitress and she got the manager. The manager came and we were not happy with her attitude but she took the cold food back and when it returned it was warm enough that we could eat some of it. My daughter took her filet home to cook it herself. Very disappointing and if we go back will definitely not get the filet.

Waited 15 minutes after waiting.5 minutes to be seated. No server ever came to our table l, however there were 4 talking at the host stand the whole time we were waiting. We.decided to leave because we were tired of waiting. I can only assume the food was going.to be just as disappointing as the service. BTW it was 4:30 pm.and it.was nowhere near busy. 7 servers had maybe 9 tables in the whole place.

Great green beans came with my steak. A little pricey. Try to get there for the lunch/early dinner menu. Also, a kids menu is available. We forgot to ask.

Bruxelles sprouts, fried or not, should not leave a burnt taste in your mouth. The reaction to that assertion was mere indifference. Medium now equals medium-rare, which wasn't a completely terrible thing, but it may be for others. Loaded mashed potatoes were excellent. Staff was attentive and minus the aforementioned indifference, very accommodating. Was a busy Saturday night when we dined, and the restaurant was well run and clean.

We came with friends for a double date night. We always love the New York Strip steak. Service is always 100% on par, thank you to our waiter, Christian, for being so helpful tonight with beer choices.

A smaller menu mostly geared for red meat lovers. Service was perfect with managers and food runners checking pretty constantly.

Love this place. Great food. It was my first time there. I will go back. The manager Dawn even came by our table to make sure it was all good.

Our server was nice and was very knowledgeable but they never came back and asked us for refills. We asked for lemons for our tea and never got them. I ordered the 8oz sirloin well done and it came out medium rare. I asked for it to be sent back and when it came back out it was still too red for my liking. My mother ordered the ribeye rare and that came out medium well. She also got the house salad and received the wrong dressing asked for. My brother ordered a cheeseburger with nothing else on it but it came out with onions, lettuce, pickles, and tomato. The vibe of the restaurant was cool but we will not be going back. It's not worth the price.

We made a reservation on New Years eve, (and they were not busy) The experience was our first for my wife and I, and 2 friends. We had not tried this place and thought it would be a great experience. WE WERE SURE WRONG. My wife's chicken on her $17.00 salad was burnt and dry. My ribeye was very small, very fatty and under cooked. Our friends' filets were both cooked wrong. By the time they brought my wife's chicken back, (15 minutes) We were almost done eating. The food is definitely not worth the price. The ambiance is very nice but it not worth the price and hassle of a good time and meal.

I was excited to try Saltgrass and while service was fantastic, the quality of the food definitely did not justify the prices. The grilled pineapple margarita was great and I definitely recommend it. The bread and butter that they serve is very basic and not really all that good. The rolls and cinnamon butter at Texas Roadhouse are far better. The queso fresco with brisket appetizer was decent but was served with stale, chewy tortilla chips that seemed like they may have gotten wet at some point. For $14.99 for the queso appetizer, I would have expected homemade chips or at the very least, not stale, soggy/chewy chips. Salad and loaded baked potato soup were delicious. Unfortunately our steaks were not cooked the way we ordered them (medium-well was served medium-rare instead and medium was served well done). For the price of the dinners, the steaks should be cooked to the customer preference. Overall, while service and drinks were good, I was not impressed with the food. Texas Roadhouse has far better overall quality of food and we will definitely opt for Texas Roadhouse in the future over Saltgrass.

We had a delicious meal today at Saltgrass in Mishawaka, Indiana. Our server, Adrien, was a delight. She was very attentive during our time, never missing a beat. Thanks, we will be back!

First experience was 5*. Second was a totally different experience. Service was great food very different and mediocre. We will give a 3rd try and see what we get. May be our last visit.

I've been to this restaurant 2x and have had amazing service. The first time I try to order carry out and they tell me they don't do carry out orders over the phone, you have to come into the bar. (They don't have an online option either) I'm not driving there so I can sit there while you make my food, I wanted to carry out so I can take my food home. If I wanted to eat at the restaurant I would have ate there. Never in my life has a restaurant denied me service for doing a carry out order. I guess they don't want my business. Very disappointed!

Great food, atmosphere and service. Ryan was my server. He was pleasant, fast and attentive. I do recommend Saltgrass.

We went there last night for the first time, very disappointing! We ordered an appetizer queso fresco with brisket. Very good. Everything went downhill from there they brought us our salads and within minutes our steaks we hadn't even gotten half way through our salads. We had ordered three steaks a filet and two bone in ribeye steaks all medium. They got one ribeye done right, the filet was medium well and the other ribeye rare rare we let our sever know and she took the two steaks back leaving the one. The manager returned with the steaks 10 minutes later stating they put my ribeye back on and replaced the filet both were better but not perfect! You are charging for perfect!

Well after the longest wait and that was after making a reservation over two week prior finally seated and the waiter proceeded to confuse me for a child then my well done steak was not well done. A member in my party didn't get there drink till it was reminded let's just say for all the time and money spent it was a big giant fail I'm not sure how they have they great rating they have? Food was mediocre at best and the service sucked over two hours of my life wasted and left hungry with a bill that was more then it should have been and in the interest of helping people .... don't sign up for there bullshit club it cost money and they don't tell you until it's on your bill and now they are just holding 25 $ of my money for some crap like there are doing me a favor

Food is ok. Service was good, waitresses are kind and well-dressed. Only thing: Very very annoyingly loud, makes you want to go bananas. Louder than a high school cafeteria.

Excellent steaks, service, and atmosphere. Even whwn it's crowded they make sure to stop by to see if you're enjoying your meal and if you need anything.

The food was awesome, and the service was excellent! We ate at the bar since the place was packed, and Zack and Brandy were the best! We'll be back!

Food was good, I had ribs and would definitely order again. Service was fantastic. Only issue is the noise level; not a good place for a conversation. I would order take-out but the website won't let me select this location. Pity.

Saltgrass is one of my favorite restaurants so I already knew the food would be great! What really stood out was KC's service. She is the true embodiment of excellent customer service--she double-checked our order, was very attentive, and sweet! She deserves a promotion & raise! We will be making sure to ask for her during our next visit.

My server, Fred was polished one of the most professional servers. Fred was well spoken and i did not have to wait for drink refills. The Chef cooked my steak perfectly. I look forward to returning soon. I'll ask for Fred.

Overally priced. Very loud. Received the wrong steak. The steak we did get was overcooked and had too much of a charred taste. Waitress was very nice but does not make up for everything else. Was very excited for a new restaurant but will not be returning.

For all the hype, it's on par with a Texas Roadhouse, except with worse bread. The drinks and atmosphere were good. Just very average food.

I ordered the bacon wrapped sirloin with grilled shrimp. I asked for the sirloin to be medium well with an emphasis on well. I guess I should have realized it wasn't going to go well when the waitress asked me if I wanted them to butterfly the steak so it would be cooked correctly. I said yes, but later it occurred to me that if I'm at a steakhouse ordering a steak, the expectation would be someone knows how to cook the steak! So when the dinner came I cut the steak and it was medium rare to rare!! So I sent it back. When it came back I cut the piece in half that I had already cut. It looked good! The waitress came back and asked how everything was, and I thought it was good so I said so. Unfortunately, when I cut the next piece from the steak, it was the same as what I had sent back! Medium rare!! I decided that I didn't want to deal with the kitchen anymore, so I planned to bring the steak home and cook it right. So I ate the shrimp, and I give them credit for them being cooked. Unfortunately, they were probably overcooked! Normally, when I've had grilled shrimp I can pull the meat out of the tail with my mouth. For these, I had to peel the tail off and dig the meat out. I think they were overcooked and dry! On the plus side, my drink was good.

I made my first visit to Saltgrass today, being the first week that it was open, was truly impressed. My wife and I got there just as they were opening for the day and was glad we got there early because it rapidly filled up. I found the wait staff couldn't do enough to make sure your visit was outstanding. My server was Ryan found him to be very personable and knowledgeable, it was truly a very pleasant experience. He was able to answer our questions and make suggestions, He made a great meal even better. My wife and I both had the 12 oz ribeye with a baked potato and salad. We were served our salad and before we finished our steaks were brought out, both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. If they keep the quality of the food and service that we had today, they will do very well. Time will tell. A good quality steak house is hard to find so I am looking forward to another visit and see what the future will bring..
